Blurb: Sometimes, serving his Dom means Patrick just has to take control, even if it means risking everything.
Patrick has been walking on eggshells and taking matters–and orgasms–literally into his own hands since his Dom’s muse went on vacation, leaving him unable to write. Feeling neglected and lonely, Patrick tries to entertain himself and leave his lover to work out his problems but when Leo finds Patrick disobeying one of their fundamental rules and doesn’t even get angry, Patrick knows it’s time to truly take charge. Hopefully, it isn’t too late to get his lover’s attention by forcing a little downtime over the Christmas holiday. He only hopes his taking charge doesn’t land him in more trouble than he can handle.

Review: This is a cute, quick erotic BDSM read. A frustrated Leo can’t seem to get his writing to start flowing. He’s so blinded by his writer’s block it’s making him blind to everything and everyone else in his life. Patrick, who longs for his Don’s attention is frustrated as well, sexually, and confused about their relationship and his role.

Patrick decides to get a little rebellious and figures, if his Dom isn’t doing his job, he can take matters into his own hands… orgasmically. And to find a solution to their problems. He plans a Christmas vacation for them both without computers, but with plenty of sexual heat. While on their sabbatical, they both find satisfaction, and Leo finds out his muse wasn’t gone after all, Patrick fills that role and role of sub just fine! This quick read is rather mild for the BDSM genre, but it’s cute!

Blurb: A mother turns to David to help free her son and another young man from prison, where they have spent the last ten years for a double murder many feel they did not commit. The police investigation was spotty, the evidence non-existent, and yet someone had to pay for the vicious assault on two young brothers. Never one to shy away from a tough situation David agrees to look into the case, despite the tense situation with his partner’s family and the physical and emotional needs of the former-prostitute he’s taken under his wing.

With so many lives on the line, David must find a way to help all without hurting the most important person-himself.

Review: This is book two in this series and they should be read in order. This one was a pretty good story, even better than the first book. Only because in this story David and Jamie had decided to not only move in together but that they are just like a married couple. They seem to be lots happier in this book and I loved that even though this is a mystery story. There is still a bit of romance to it.

Sandra Klassen had come to David to help get her son Nathan out of prison for a double murder she swears he did not do. She wanted Davids help to get him and another young man out of prison. He finds out that the police investigation was sloppy to say the least and that the evidence wasn’t really there, yet they had convicted them of murder. David of course takes the case even though he was not completely recovered from being shot in his last case.

David takes on the case even though Jamie’s family is causing them to have some problems and that there is a lot of tense situations there. Also, he needs to help the former-prostitute that had been hurt in the last case to heal. He had taken Jenny in to his family, given her a place to heal with his grandmother.

This story is fantastic read especially if you love twist and turns, danger coming at you from all directions, two hot and sexy men, majorly hot sex, dependent young prostitutes trying to get their lives straightened out and crazy family members. It will catch your attention from the start and keep it all the way to the end. I also love that it starts out with just something so calming as redecorating their home. It just starts out so believable and keeps at that rate. It kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole story. I can’t wait for you guys to find out who was behind the deaths.

Blurb: Chase Murphy was like any teenager; not a jock, not a geek, not a stoner, and he just wanted to survive high school. Survive being the key word. Every day was brutal.

Brad Wilson was everything that Chase wasn’t, minus the drugs. All star football player, wrestling champ and Mr. Popular whose favorite pastime seemed to be tormenting Chase.

When Chase Murphy returns to his backwater home in North Carolina, after eight years in the Marine Corps, only to be confronted by his high school tormentor, Brad Wilson, he isn’t the same wimpy kid. His hatred for Brad and his buddies hadn’t dimmed but he wouldn’t be tormented any longer.

Only Brad isn’t interested in tormenting Chase; he is interested in something else entirely.

But will Chase be interested in the same thing?

Review: There are very few short stories and novellas that I can actually get into and find myself loving, however this story did just that.

I loved the fact that Chase and Brad had to overcome what was a painful start. Eight years ago, Chase was just like many teenagers just trying to survive high school. Brad was everything Chase wasn’t in high school, all-star football player, wrestling champ and very popular. He was also the main tormentor to Chase. He gave Chase hell all the way through school. Chase absolutely hated him for it.

Now eight years later Chase is back home after his stint in the U.S. Marine Corps. Running into Brad was expected, what was not expected was Brad’s reaction to Chase. Chase at first hated Brad however, Chase had not known at that time but Brad was definitely attracted to him. A little bit of show and tell, some action and Chase is finding out exactly what Brad is wanting.

It is the cutest novella I had come across in a while. It shows what happens to bullies in a different sort of way. That he was bullying him to hide the fact that maybe just maybe he was attracted to him back then. It gives you many things to think about. That made it just a bit more interesting. I loved it and I really wished it would get further into what they will be living through in such a small town where gay was not wanted.

This story was published twice; more words were added to this particular story. The first time it came out was in August 2012. I cannot wait to read more by Brenda. She has a very wonderful gift at telling stories that come off so very real to you. I loved the story and will be recommending it to everyone. This story has two very hot and sexy men, bullying, bits of anger, lots of making up, and some hot sex.

Special Delivery Excerpt:

Garren pushed away from the wall and into the light of the lobby. “Looks like I missed out on a lot.”

Aspen ducked his head and went to his desk to dig around in a drawer. The first time Taylor had sent him shopping for office supplies, Aspen had bought random sheets of kids’ stickers. On the rare occasion Taylor performed child evaluations, a little bribery to bring out good behavior never hurt. Aspen came away with two sheets of fairy stickers.

“Not too much. We’re working on crowns and a new kingdom.” Aspen swerved around Garren, his eyes twinkling. “Do you want a crown?”

Garren narrowed his eyes on Aspen. He put his hands on Aspen’s shoulders to stop him and leaned in to whisper, “That was low. There’s no way I can refuse those pixies. I’m going to end up with a glittery, construction-paper crown glued to my head, aren’t I?”

Aspen looked over his shoulder. “Don’t worry there won’t be glitter on yours. I’ll be the queen,” he murmured with a grin. “So you’ll need to fill the role as king.”

Garren shook his head. “You’re trouble.”

Aspen shimmied to dislodge Garren’s hands. “You just figured that out?”

With a resigned sigh Garren followed him.

“Girls, I found someone else who needs a crown,” Aspen declared, gesturing at Garren.

The tykes jumped up and down. Garren fought the urge to reach out and hug Aspen for giving them this moment of levity even at Garren’s expense.

Aspen held out the stickers, and the enthusiasm magnified until the girls were dancing around the room. “Thank you, thank you, thank you,” the girls chanted in a singsong fashion.

A softly murmured, “Oh my,” came from behind Garren.

Garren turned to yet again see the shimmer of tears in Mrs. Burgett’s eyes, but a smile accompanied the moisture.
Aspen grinned back at her. “I hope you don’t mind. The girls have been fantastic. We’ve managed to make crowns and bracelets.”

“Even for you, Mommy,” one of the twins piped up and ran over to Mrs. Burgett to carefully hand her the items as though they were made of glass.

Mrs. Baker cradled them. “Thank you, Maryann.”

“Becca and Mr. Aspen helped,” Maryann replied.

“And we ate apples and cheese crackers,” Becca added.

Garren looked briefly at Aspen. He’d seen Aspen eating the same things earlier in the week.

“That was very nice of Mr. Aspen,” Mrs. Burgett said with a hitch in her voice. “But we have to go now, girls.”

“Oh,” the girls replied with exaggerated pouts on both their faces.

“Say thank-you to Mr. Aspen,” Mrs. Burgett directed.

Both girls ran over to Aspen and threw their arms around his waist. “Sorry we didn’t get a chance to make your crown,” Becca said.

“That’s fine, sweetheart. I’ll be sure to make a matching one when you leave,” Aspen assured her.

“You need to make two,” Maryann interjected. “One for the big king behind you. That way we’ll know you’re helping rule the kingdom even if we can’t see you.”
Garren wanted to pick the girl up and hug her. Tell her that everything would work itself out and she’d never be hurt again. While it was a possibility if Mrs. Burgett went through with the charges, he wouldn’t make promises he couldn’t keep.

“Thank you, Mr. Aspen,” Mrs. Burgett said. “You don’t know how much I appreciate you taking care of my girls.”

“You’re welcome,” Aspen responded.

Maryann and Becca skipped over to their mom, and grabbed hold of her hands as they exited the office.

Garren stared after their retreating backs. He grimaced at the tattered clothes and worn shoes. His jaw clenched, and he pivoted and stalked back to his office. The lump in his throat threatened to shatter his control of his emotions. He made it through the door, placed his hands on his desk, and breathed deeply. Mrs. Burgett reminded him of his mother.

Aspen lightly touched his back, and Garren jerked around to gaze at him.

“I know you’ll do all you can,” Aspen confided.

“And you?” Garren cracked and cupped Aspen’s face with one hand. “You gave those little girls your lunch and made them laugh. You took away their stress and let them be kids.”

Aspen glanced away. “I did what anyone else would do. They deserve to have as much joy as every other child.”

“You’re wrong. Not everyone would do what you did. I think most would have set them in the lobby and spent the time telling them to be quiet.” Garren had seen that reality time and time again.

Aspen shrugged.

Garren caved and leaned in until his lips were mere inches from Aspen’s. “You are so beautiful.”

Aspen didn’t back away. His breath came faster, and his eyes flashed with that same glow Garren had seen in the past.

“Garren,” Aspen whispered with a thread of uncertainty.

Garren brushed his thumb over Aspen’s full lower lip, and desire zinged through his body when Aspen’s tongue peeked out to trace the path. Garren’s brain screamed what a huge mistake kissing Aspen would be, but at that point he wasn’t being ruled by his head.

Blurb: For rancher, Ezra James, life is pretty simple. He wakes before dawn and spends his day working with the cattle he loves. For twenty years, the EZ Does It ranch has been enough to drown out his loneliness and guilt. To the world, he appears impervious to everything. The only chink in his armor – the man who owns the clothing store in town.

Palmer ‘Wyn’ Wynfield caught Ezra’s eye the first time the rancher stepped foot in the store. Though Ezra knew his large size intimidated others, his little self-confidence was shattered when Palmer backed away in apparent fear. In a moment of self-preservation, he referred to Wyn as Mr. Fancy Pants. That was six years ago, and he’s never been forgiven.
An early morning phone call changes all that. Though the line is scratchy, Ezra definitely hears the words he’s been waiting to hear for years. “I need you.”

This is book four in the Cattle Valley series. See the full series listing here

Review: This is book four to this amazing series however they should be read in order so that you get to know the wonderful characters. Characters that you will come to love. Each one has their own tragic story or painful story to tell. They are amazing and so full of love for each other that you can’t help but cheer them on.

Wyn and Ezra have been fighting the attraction between them. Ezra had gotten his feelings hurt the first time he walked into Wyn’s store, that he called him fancy pants. Which in turn hurt Wyn’s feelings. They were feeling like they were less than what they truly were. Pain from the past kept coming into their present lives. Until Wyn goes back to Oklahoma to settle his late father’s home and ranch. Everyone in his hometown was homophobic and was threatening him. Of course, it was funny when he calls Ezra to help him out. Ezra was screwing with their heads. Being very open about their lifestyles. But they both admit how they feel for each other.

When they came back to Cattle Valley things were getting better, except Ezra’s friends were giving Wyn a hard time. It seemed that everywhere they went, feelings were running hot. People looked at Ezra’s height and were frightened of him. However, he realized that if he came off friendlier that people tended not to be scared of him. He also realized how much he truly loved Wyn and how much Wyn loved him in return.

They have many things that they need to settle, but they realize that they have to do it together. I loved this story and would recommend reading it. If you love tender stories with so much heart then you will definitely love this series. Each one gets better and better. I can’t wait to read book five.

Blurb: Ren Coulter is used to working alone. As a special agent in the Paranormal Operations Unit of the border patrol, his mission is to infiltrate the compound of a reputed drug lord named Mendoza and learn the source of a dangerous and addictive new drug. He decides to go undercover in drag, disguised as a glamorous young woman in the hopes of catching Mendoza’s notorious roving eye. Yet even before Ren meets the drug lord, he encounters Darzul, one of Mendoza’s striking bodyguards. Despite his lone-wolf habits, Ren sees advantages in working together with the man.

Darzul Onaygan has been sent from his home world of Arzula to blend in with the earthlings and help them fight off the evil alien invaders. Bisexual as most Arzulans are, many even able to switch gender at will, he finds Ren attractive in both his guises. Yet Darzul knows it takes more than hot sex to build a partnership. While outside threats may force them to work together, that alone cannot forge a bond. Trust comes slowly and not without a hitch, but soon they must also rely on one another to survive.

Can Ren and Darzul live long enough to not only to accomplish their mission, but also to become real partners?

Review: Ren is working undercover for the Paranormal Operations Unit of the border patrol (POU) to discover the source of a new drug that’s emerged, infiltrating the compound in drag seems to be the best way to get answers, and he gets more than he bargained for when he comes into contact with Darzul, his targets bodyguard. Darzul has been sent by the council on his home-world Arzula to discover where the new evil is coming from, when he comes across ‘Rena’ and finds that ‘she’ isn’t all that ‘she’ seems they end up working together because they have the same goal. But much more than that is the attraction that builds between them; can they get to the bottom of the case, explore their attraction, and live long enough to build something together?

This story had a lot of potential with its mix of paranormal, fantasy and sci-fi and that aspect was quite satisfying although I do wish it had been slightly more developed and fleshed out. Ren is a very interesting character and even he isn’t quite sure what he is, with a mix of witch and maybe druid, being male but with a slight feminine taste but knowing he is quite happy with who he is while loving the silky slide of female clothing. Darzul is a being that while male he could also be female if he wanted, he is from Arzula and while being distantly related to the elves (Ren gulped. “Whoa. You look like a weird elf who fell into the Easter Bunny’s color kit or something.”) Darzul’s race has developed differently.

The main storyline of finding the new exotic drug and its source is interesting and I wish it had been more developed. The relationship side between Darzul and Ren was slightly disappointing. The first sex scene between them lacked build up and did absolutely nothing for me at all. I felt no connection between the characters other than the initial attraction and the later sex scenes were little better. It all felt too rushed. This storyline has great potential but needs more fleshing out and development, while the characters need to have more relationship development where we, the reader, can see it.

I will recommend this to those who love fantasy, paranormal with a dash of sci-fi, an interesting storyline and a happy ending.

Blurb: Jake Landon thinks a second ranger season in the Colorado Rockies with Kurt Carlson is close enough to heaven, and a national forest is big enough to be his closet. Pharmacy school—and the luxuries of electricity and running water—can wait, maybe forever, as long as Jake doesn’t have to come out. He doesn’t plan on Kurt’s vision of his future being as narrow and direct as the single-track roads through the trees.

“Your future, your fear, and me,” Kurt tells Jake. “You can have two of the three, so choose wisely.” Jake may have no choices left after they stumble on armed men guarding a beautiful but deadly crop that doesn’t belong among the pines and spruces. Angry men with guns are only one danger in the Colorado wilderness, and Jake’s reluctance to come out is now his smallest problem.

Kurt’s skills and Jake’s silver tongue may not be enough to get them out of this mess—how much of the bloodshed on the mountain will be theirs?

Review: All right, so once again I’ll have to scream it out loud how much I love Kurt. That character makes everything fine for me. And because I love Kurt, so much I spend more than half of the book wanting to slap Jake silly. I mean I knew at some point thing would get better, but till they actually got there, I really envisioned ways of killing that little fictional character myself.
Anyway, so Blood on the Mountains continues with Jake and Kurt returning to their summer job, their little primitive cabin close to their natural refrigerator aka the lake, and with Jake living in his own panic room inside his head. This time the “coming out” talk is a bit more intense because the way he’s been acting is telling Kurt that he’s putting off of returning to college out of fear. Fear of living with Kurt in the big city and being out.

You know, one would’ve thought that after what happened a year ago when they nearly died and during the winter season Jake would have put some things into perspective, but near death experiences need to hunt him more than once to shake him, and even that in the end didn’t. Hence, I wanted to slap him silly.

The first half of the book in essentially a rerun of past events blending with their now familiarity. The memories of the cabin and lake when Jake had been pinning for Kurt merge beautifully with the present, when their relationship is firm and their lovemaking has lost that urgency but turned into a slow burning passion. I loved their love-games and their routine. This couple has always been perfect and it keeps that way.

If you pay real attention, you can see how the plot will unravel from the very start, what with Jake nearly besting Kurt in the range field and the scenery description, but when it came to the highlight of the story, it still gets you in a high-speed. One moment things are simple and boring with our guys going through everyday life and the next all hell breaks loose. Just like in the previous books though it happens with a small even after another and then another and before you know it you’re thinking dear Lord can things get any worse? The answer to that is yes, but it is worth it. The author gives us a very nice action plot with a lot of blood wetting down the mountain floor and an unexpected near-death experience. I loved those scenes immensely and had it not been for Jake’s silliness once again I’d have loved it even more.

However, I suppose it made much more sense for the book to end the way it ended instead of him simply yielding. Still, didn’t make him more lovable to me, even if he did take my beloved Kurt to the ice-cream store.

As for the writing well, if you’re reading this book most probably you have read the other too and know how sufficient and easy-going this author is with her pen. If this is the first book, you’re reading you will encounter a great description of scenery, a slowly building intensity in the plot that will keep you going and wanting for more and a very lovable pair that will probably hook you and make you read all the rest of the books. As it is, Blood on the Mountain can be easily read as a standalone although it’d be best if you read the series in order. My guess is you’ll love them if you like life in the wilderness, forest rangers and quite a bit of action.

Blurb: In his job as a fundraiser for Diggerson College, Mitch Harmon hears the word “no” a lot. Getting people to part with their hard-earned cash isn’t easy, no matter how good the cause and the constant rejection is starting to wear on Mitch. The only bright spot of his job is Cal Marlow, a successful software developer and alum of Diggerson College, who has been generous with his donations.

When their relationship goes from strictly business to physical, they agree it should remain no-strings-attached. But, Mitch finds himself falling for Cal, despite his vow to keep things simple. When he finally gets the courage to tell Cal how he feels, Cal has an announcement of his own—he’s met someone, and wants to put an end to their fun and go back to being “professional.”
Has Mitch missed his chance at happiness, or can he find a way to get the love and the life he wants?

Product Link: http://www.amberquill.com/AmberAllure/CharitableGiving.html

Review: Honest confession. When I saw the cover of this book I so didn’t want to read it, don’t know why it gave me a negative feeling. And then the blurb seemed so dull. Well thankfully, the book was more than what I expected and I ended up pleasantly surprised.

Mitch has a job he doesn’t quite like and dear Lord I don’t blame him at all. But the one bright prospect is Cal. Their chemistry instant the moment they met leads them to having a no-strings-attached affair. Totally unprofessional of Mitch, but hey, you can’t resist a man like Cal.

Their relationship, no matter how shallow it seems, slowly develops to something deeper and Mitch is feeling drowned and trapped. He wants thing to get more but he’s afraid that if he pushes for it he might lose Cal altogether. After finally making up his mind he’s beaten to punch by Cal announcing that he met someone and their attraction is so good, that he doesn’t want to jeopardize it by continuing the affair with Mitch.

And at this point, I’m flabbergasted, because I had only read half the blurb and I didn’t see this coming. The thing is that the way the story is written it totally leads you on into believing that the guys will go for it after this dinner and the story will be about the difficulties of balancing work and relationship. I know. I should pay more attention to the damn blurb.

As it was I was surprised; the angst and intensity skyrocketed for me for this point on. I literally gasped and groaned with how the story floated and the rest of the book flew by in a heartbeat. The last twist in the plot, while expected, was still executed amazingly well and the writing itself was lovely. The characters were both very charming and I couldn’t help not to feel sorry for Mitch on more than one occasions. I wanted his happy ending so badly that when it came it was like “it was about damn time already.” Bah the frustration.

Anyway, a lovely read with a bit of angst and heartbreak specially ordered to keep you on your toes Charitable Giving is a book I wouldn’t hesitate recommending.

Blurb: Brent is a jock, Logan a geek, these men are a world apart. But if opposites attract, maybe it’s the differences between them that make it worth the fight.
Brent Kelly is a laid-back tradesman whose only concerns are drinks with friends and which man to bed next. In need of a new accountant to sort out his nightmarish shoebox of tax receipts, he’s referred to Logan Willis.
He doesn’t expect to be intrigued by the science fiction-loving, geeky guy with dark-rimmed glasses and a TARDIS blue shirt. So his fascination with the soft-spoken Englishman surprises him, and their mutual attraction is completely unexpected. He most certainly never expects to fall in love.
One a jock and the other a geek, both men know the differences between them are vast and could cause problems. But in this opposites-attract erotic drama, maybe it’s the differences between them that make staying together worth the fight.

Review: The title of this collection of short stories offered by Totally Bound Publishing, Sexy Snax, is perfect. Taxes and TARDIS is a perfect little, warm and gooey sexy snack! It’s full of sizzling attraction, and warm and fuzzy feeling.

I love how the opposites attract in this story, opposite in career, appearance, habits, and upbringing. While Logan had a rough experience in high school and college being picked on because he was gay and geeky, his parents were supportive and accepting. Brent has a great youth, he was a popular kid, played sports, didn’t’ get picked on because he was a big guy, but his parents turned him away when he came out. Their present day circumstances are just as opposite, Brent is a rough and tumble electrician, hanging out in sports bars with his equally unsophisticated friends, where Logan is a rather introverted, quiet, home body who keeps his life neat and tidy, and only seems to socialize with his sister when he isn’t pouring over tax accounts. One would opt to watch The Predator while the other dreams about The Doctor.

Can these two possibly hold a future together? In the case of this sweet story, the saying opposites attract is doubly true! Sweet, shy, geeky Logan is steamin’ hot in the bedroom, and poor Brent doesn’t know what hits him!

Very smoothly written, the story kept my interest solidly all the way through, No holes in the plot, and I easily visualized the scene as I read along, the author having painted a perfect picture for me. Yep, this story is the perfect feel-good, sexy snack! It will warm you up for sure on these cold spring nights!

Blurb: Griff Matthews knew he looked like trouble but for a wolf shifter mechanic he was fairly laid back most of the time. Pleased that his Alpha was finally settled with his new mate, Griff longs to meet the man of his dreams. Little did he know he would find it that same evening, when he was too drunk to realize that his good-looking hook-up was actually his mate. Problem is when he woke up sober his bed was empty.

Derrick “Diablo” Franklin was just looking for a hook up with a like-minded shifter. The sexy cat shifter was deep undercover for the FBI and although his case was coming to an end, he had hopes for his career that didn’t involve finding a mate. However, after meeting Griff Diablo realized his plans might have to change.

But nothing is easy for the two men as they battle the FBI, a crime lord from Baton Rouge and a host of contenders looking to take Diablo away from Griff. And just who is Angel Bandures?

Please note this is book two of the Cloverleah Pack series. It can be read as a standalone, but you will learn more about the characters and story line if you read book one, The Reluctant Wolf as well.

Warning: Some people may find the content of this book objectionable. Includes m/m, graphic sexual situations, a few BDSM elements (not related to actual sexual scenes), strong language, a wolf, and a cat that are looking for their own happily ever after.

Review: This is book two in this wonderful series and should be read in order. Trust me you definitely need to read book one before this one so you can get a handle on all of the characters that you will definitely be falling in love with. Griff just wanted someone to love and to be his, but he didn’t expect to find him. Boy was he surprise that the one sexy man he found at his friends club would turn out to be him. Here he was drinking pretty heavily although shifters can’t really get that drunk, he hooks up with a cat shifter and has one night of passion and fire. What he had not expected was Diablo not only biting him and claiming him, but to be gone in the morning.

Diablo was an undercover federal agent and was just looking for a hookup, when he and the sexy wolf shifter Diablo were having a feast he has an urge to bite. To bite the man who is his mate. What a bad time to get called back to work. When he contacts Griff through their mind link, he realizes he has left one pissed off mate. Telling him what is going on, and hoping that his mate would want him when he gets back he doesn’t expect Griff to come down and be his back up. It would seem that Griff has a secret life that he hadn’t expected.

Griff was also Angel a crime lord from Florida. Ok there is more to that surprise but I can’t let that one out. You will love it, and you will love the fact that there is so much love between these two men that it will make you all hot and bothered. There is a lot of humor in this book that can make you laugh when you don’t expect it. There is a lot of danger coming from all directions and a lot of twist to this story. It is an amazing story that you will get caught in and can’t take your attention from.

I would recommend this not only for the hint of BDSM, but two hot and sexy shifters, wolves, panthers, lots of crazy magic going on, pack fights, lots of love and some majorly hot sex scenes. I love it and cannot wait to read the next book in this series.

Review: This is the second book in the A Southern Thing Series, you really do need to read these in order. Sending Jack off to Jesus picks up where the last book left off with Jack now being under the watchful eye and threat of his tyrant of a father. In my opinion, Nathanial Miller should be the poster boy for family planning… and he has 10 kids… and a preacher to boot…Sorry about the rant. He has pulled the ‘if you don’t do as I say I will hurt your baby brother’ card to Jack. See what I mean? So, Jack is conflicted. He wants to hurry up and graduate, hoping for a scholarship so he can get on with his life and make a life for him and his boyfriend Andrew, but if he leaves he fears for Billy who at the tender age of 7 is very girly, and very proud of himself. Now I will talk about characters.

I will start with baby brother, Billy. At only 7, this kid is a dream. I absolutely love Billy and he deserves a story of his own (hint, hint). He is such a sweet thing, and confident. In this book, it is mostly Jack and Andrew, but there is one scene with Billy, that is a heart wrencher. I could just see him looking at awe at the photos of the two men and professing “How beautiful” then growling and yelling at his dad how ugly he is… yep, the 7-year-old is a scene stealer!

Jack is also a very great character. For only 18, he is one heck of a responsible boy. I can say the same for Andrew. Both are fabulous characters. So I will say if you like amazing characters as you can see here we have great main characters, supporting characters ( I didn’t mention Jacks mom she really steps up here and becomes a game changer) she is the epitome of character growth. (If Jack’s dad sounds like meanie of the year you should get a load of Andrew’s dad. he makes Jack’s dad look good.)

Ok, so let’s move on to the story. As I said it is a continuation of the last book and does end as a cliffhanger too, but if you’re a big Sara York fan you know what to expect… nail-biting suspense!! This story is full of angst, love, strong emotion, and suspense. I cannot wait for the next.

I highly recommend this if you like ongoing series that end in cliffhangers making you beg for more, boundless love, spunky seven-year olds, amazing character, sweet, but hot sensual mansex, stories that make you think, over-controlling parents, and nail-biting suspense and a heart-wrenching story.( be sure to have a box of tissue on hand).

Blurb: Kane Matthews, Alpha of his small wolf pack in Cloverleah has been raised to believe that mates are not possible for gay men and has lived his life accordingly. Review: This is the first book in this new series and I am amazed at it. It is well written and you get caught at the first paragraph. It will keep you all the way to the end. I love Lisa’s gift at telling a story. Shawn and Kane are perfect characters. They come off so believable and very loveable.

Shawn was an alpha in his own way, but he also had some power behind him that seemed to scare everyone around him even other alphas. When he got hurt as a child, a blue bubble surrounded him keeping him protected. His so-called friends ran and told his father who at the time was alpha of their pack. He had been kicked out and on his own for over ten years. Never staying in one place to long because his father sent men after him to kill him even going as far as getting a witch to make some special bullets to try to kill him. When he landed in Cloverleah, he had landed a job at a dinner cooking. What he had not expected was his mate walking in.

Kane was alpha of the Cloverleah Pack and had always been taught since he was little that gay men did not have mates. So surprise was all the way, around when he caught the sweet scent of his mate. Of course, he had not known that he was his mate, but he definitely wanted him. After talking it over with his best friend and beta, he decided to show Shawn that he would not be harmed by his pack, keeping his distance. That is until danger came at his mate.

He knew he would do everything in his power to protect his mate. There are a lot of dangers coming for Shawn. This story has it all lots of hot and sexy men, Doms, awesome shifters not just wolves either, amazing story line, smoking hot sex, and lots of love. If you have, a chance to read this series you should start with this book and I can tell you that you won’t be disappointed. It is an amazing story about homophobic jerks who think that they have the right over some people and how there are still people out there to stand up to them and show them that they are wrong. It shows that Kane had been kicked out because he was gay by his father, and how in the end they both show up to help and support him when it was needed.

Captivated by their growing passion, the young lovers have a rude awakening when the vengeful alpha who murdered Quinn’s parents finds him, and vows to destroy anyone who gets in his way.

Review: This is book two of this series and should be read in order. I have always loved the paranormal world especially when it gives you two very hot and sexy men. Shape shifting wolves are one of my favorite things to read about. Tyler has a gift to tell a story, bringing you wonderful characters, great worlds to lose yourself into, and a hot story line. Quinn barely escaped with his life when his parents were brutally killed six years ago. He is basically a lone wolf, and if you understand wolves, you know that they cannot live without a pack. He is not loved by many because of his sexual preference. He loves men not women and there are many out there who want it stopped.

When he meets Killian, who is a wolf shifter and soon to be alpha who turns his world upside down. He is hot and very tempting. Killian has always wanted his father’s approval and when he meets Quinn, he is more than determined to show his father who he is and how deeply he can love. How deep he is falling for Quinn. But there are dangers still out there, and they are gunning for Quinn. The alpha who had murdered Quinn’s parents was intent on making sure Quinn dies also.

Killian knows that he will do everything in his power to keep his mate safe, even if it means his life. He is however planning on having a long life with Quinn. The sex and sexual heat from these two will set the forest on fire. There is so much passion between them that you can feel the heat from them.

I liked the first story to this series, but this book is even better. There is so much description of each character, their worlds, the way they are together it just makes the story even more believable when an author does this. It makes it easy to get caught into a story when there is more to read about. This story caught my attention from the start and kept it all the way to the end.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves shapeshifters, wolves, two hot and sexy men, lots of danger and excitement, and some very hot sex.

Review: I loved this story. It is sweet and charming with a bit of intrigue in the beginning.

Dyer finds himself in his favourite coffee shop as usual on Valentine’s Day. He hates all the fru-fru and especially pink. He is smacked with a balloon as he enters the shop that will dredge up painful memories and his actions could save someone from the past he had and perhaps bring forth a brighter future.

Have you ever found yourself in a situation that you knew you should say or do something but didn’t? Or saw something going on and you felt you should intervene but was afraid to? Dyer finds himself in that situation. Though he has been on the other end where no one had intervened. He finds the courage to actually do something to try to help a little girl he is sure has something going on wrong. Dyer is a very good character. He is very concerned and takes action person. I loved it. I also loved Myles and the fact he wasn’t exactly Dyers type but they both took the step to be friends.

I highly recommend this book if you’re looking for a sweet story with a little action and no sex. I’d love to see a book evolve of Myles and Dyer.

Fate seems to have taken these vampire soldiers in different directions… but as the battle over the race’s throne intensifies, and new players on the scene in Caldwell create mortal danger for the Brotherhood, Qhuinn finally learns the true definition of courage, and two hearts who are meant to be together… finally become one.

Review: Qhuinn has proven himself as a fierce warrior and secured himself a place within the Brotherhood. He grew up with John, who he later became personal guard for, and Blay. His own family condemned him because of his mismatched eyes, which were looked on as something of a curse. He has always taken solace with Blay’s loving family. After he transitioned he became something of a playboy, but his heart has always belonged to Blay.
Blaylock’s closest friends and allies within the Brotherhood are Qhuinn and John. Although Qhuinn was the first to transition, Blay has proven himself as an effective soldier in the war against the Lesser as well. In Lover Mine, Blay had his first relationship with another man, Saxton who is also Qhuinn’s cousin. Feelings ran deep there, but everyone knows that Blay has always been in love with Qhuinn.

There was a lot going on in this book, as with every book in the series. We not only have the long-awaited love story of Qhuinn and Blay unfolding, but there are several other stories woven into the mix. It is at its core though the story of two boys that fell in love before they ever transitioned. And how to spite everything they’ve been through together and separately, they found their way back to each other. Qhuinn has been portrayed as a playboy, but his true vulnerability shows here. It would seem he hides behind his sexuality so he doesn’t have to face the internal doubt and self-loathing he feels stemming from his parents ostracising him. He doesn’t think he deserves to be loved by Blay.

Blay is the most caring and compassionate of all the Brotherhood, in my opinion. He has spent so many years loving Qhuinn and being rejected, that he has resigned himself to try to be happy with Saxton, allowing Qhuinn to be with Layla and have the family he’s always wanted. Once these two finally get past all the miscommunication and pain of rejection they find a passionate, intense and fulfilling love with one another that they never would have expected.

I could have done without all the angst. These are supposed to be grown ass vampire warriors, what is with all the miscommunication, hurt feelings and angst?! Overall, though, I was SO excited to finally see these two come together, that I was able to give slight allowance to Ward for all the angst. Qhuinn and Blay have a strong foundation that was built on friendship and shared moments of trust and life lessons. There love is passionate, intense, erotic, sensual and sexy as hell! And that ceremony at the end was just the icing on the cake of a long, hard road well-earned for these two!

This is a must read series for paranormal, vampires, action and suspense fans. Be warned though, the couples range in all sexual orientation, not just M/M.

Blurb: Max and Kaelan, best friends and business partners for five years, are powerful casters with a tendency to get themselves into and out of all kinds of trouble. Pretty much the only thing they’ve been able to avoid is getting romantically involved – until now. Their sexual attraction hits them like a runaway fireball and they can’t keep their hands off each other.

While their sexual attraction burns out of control, they’ve attracted the attention of a dark caster named Jannes who’s planning a spell so potent that it could end the world. To keep them off-balance, he’s targeting Max and Kaelan through those they love, and there’s no one they love more than each other.

With friends, family to protect, and their only allies a group of casters who find it easier to fight than cooperate, the odds are stacked against them. So can Max and Kaelan keep it together and stop Jannes before he ends the world, or is the best they can do just killing time?

Purchase Link: http://www.loose-id.com/killing-time.html

Review: Kaelan had been just buying a drink when he felt a power fairly strong, so strong that he had to find out what was going on. He was a caster, could sum up portals, do spells for good, and stop those who are evil. So when he opened up a portal and found a man and woman casting evil spells, he was surprise to find someone who was blocking himself from being found out. An investigator who was also trying to do the same thing Kaelan was doing. Max was a wealthy man who wanted to figure Kaelan out.

They had agreed to never make their relationship to sexual, but there was so much fire and passion in them. The only major problem was that someone was using that feeling against them. James was planning a spell so potent that it could end the world. So to keep Kaelen and Max off-balance he uses a spell to keep them off-balance. A spell to target the people they love, well it turns out that the ones they love the most are each other. Surprise for them all the way around.
They could not figure out how they knew what each other liked when they had not had sex before, or had they and just couldn’t remember. With friends, family to protect, and their only allies a group of casters who find it easier to fight than cooperate, the odds are stacked against them. So can Max and Kaelan keep it together and stop James before he ends the world, or is the best they can do just killing time?

I love the way they are around each other. One of their major rules is that if they were bringing sexual partners home, that it was done in the bedroom no other place in the house. Of course, Kaelan broke that one once, and what Max did to him was funny as hell. I loved the cold drink against the bare skin. The sex in this story is majorly hot, sensuous and a bit kinky. You can tell from the first chapter in the book that these two want each other bad, so I loved the fact that they did hook up in the story.

They are very strong casters with lots of powers. This story caught my attention from the very beginning and kept it all the way to the end. It is told with just a hint of humor to it that I loved it even more, then the serious tone that it uses. If you love a good mystery, even though it isn’t really a mystery story then you will get a kick out of this story. It brings a fantasy to a whole new level. I have read many stories about witches and warlocks but this one shows the powers that are used for stopping evil casters from hurting others.

I would recommend this to anyone who loves sexy men fighting their attraction, loyalty between friends, powers that are used to fight the evils of the world, hot sex, and quirky attitudes. I would be reading it again, it is perfect book to read when it is cold outside, and you want to lose yourself in a good story.

Sex makes the world go round, right?

Or so it seems to Cole Turner, a Seer who can See everyone’s future except his own, when a gift from his Dreamwalking best friend Luke turns his world upside down. Overnight, Cole gains all the allure of an Incubus, drawing suitors to him like moths to a flame. But after a few days of revelling in the fun, reality takes a turn—the mysterious drug he took, known only as “Night,” had to come from someone, and that someone is pissed, on a homicidal scale. Each sexual encounter makes Cole’s attraction grow stronger, making it ever more difficult to just walk outside. And Luke, the Seer’s go-to in times of need, now wants him like everyone else, a point made even worse by the secret desires Cole has for the friend he had always assumed was straight.

Swamped in sex, powerless to See if the future holds any hope for salvation, and at constant risk of losing both his best friend and his life, Cole is about to find out if he’s strong enough to beat the Night racing through his system—and if his relationship with Luke is strong enough to survive it as well.

Review: This is the first book in this series. It does contain sex with multiple parties so if you are one that can’t handle it you shouldn’t read this story. Luke gives Cole what is called Night. A drug to help him be better at seeing what is going to happen. What he had not expected was that Night is actually Incubus cum concentrated. Talk about a raging turn on. Everywhere he goes men and women are throwing themselves at him. Too bad the one man he really wants is not only his best friend but also straight as an arrow.

That was what he thought at least. It turns out that he had kissed Luke before he had taken the drug. And Luke let him, seemed to actually like it. This story is actually funny to say the least. You see a man going out just walking down the street and all of a sudden, men and women are touching, licking, and kissing at him. Doesn’t matter if they are straight or not, he had the essence of an incubus. An incubus that is pissed off to say the least. Now all he has to do is figure out what he is going to do with all those throwing themselves at him, a best friend who wants him all of a sudden, and an incubus wanting revenge.

This story brings out all sorts of questions and not very many answers. However, I truly loved it. It made me laugh through the whole story. It caught my attention from the start and did keep it all the way to the end. I loved how the characters mix with each other and to say the sex is not only hot but also full of passion that would set the sheets on fire. I loved the way Cole wants Nick but assumes that Nick is completely straight. It’s the saying “It’s what you get for thinking” that gets me the whole time reading this. All he wanted was to see better, he could see everyone around him, but when it comes to his own life he cannot see any of it. So how did he end up wanted by everyone?

I would recommend this story to anyone who loves multiple partners, crazy men and women, hot sex, major lust for a best friend, the paranormal worlds, and an angry incubus who is out to get the one who sucked his essence out and gave it away. I told you it was funny.

Kirit is lonely and he’s sick of coming home from the king’s assignments to a cold, empty cave. After searching for years for a mate, Kirit decides it’s time to try a new approach. Against the advice of all his friends, he heads for the human side of the world. There he finds Cody, and the man is everything he could ever want. It takes a little bit of persuasion, but he manages to talk Cody into coming back with him to Faerie.

Within a week of arriving, Cody is beginning to rethink his impulsive decision. He’s trekked across more terrain than he would care to remember, been summoned to meet a king, and flown on a dragon—not an experience he’s willing to repeat anytime soon. Kirit’s growly possessiveness is starting to wear on his nerves, and the unexpected hostility he encounters at the palace is almost enough to make him give up.

But Cody is stubborn. He may not be willing to admit it out loud, but Kirit has got under his skin. He may even, shockingly enough, love the big guy.
Now Cody has to decide what he’s willing to do to keep the man of his dreams.

Review: This is the first book in this series and I can tell from the first paragraph that it was going to be an amazing read and I was right. It gave me a world full of fantasies that were just perfect. I love the paranormal worlds a lot more than just a normal romance story because it seems that so much more thought went goes into it. This is about amazing dragon shifters and a fae court. There is a mixture of different types of paranormals in this book. I love that even though Cody was a rent boy, he still seems to have not lost that zeal of life. He is just trying to pay the rent and bills so he sells his body to do it. However, he had decided for a break, seems that even he was getting tired of the same old same old. Hiding behind a dumpster in the alley, taking a break from the problems around him Cody was found by Kirit. A very sexy man with an attitude and a quirky way of talking.

Kirit was tired of living in a world without a mate, so he decides to go to earth and search for his one and only. Although dragons can have many choices, they get a sense from one by their scent, however due to a fight Kirit had lost that part of him, so he has to wait for a pull of some sort. He had at first decided to use a witch to help him find his mate, but surprise he finds it while out walking from a club. He felt the pull to take this man. He is of an old world standing so when Cody talks most of the time he has no idea what he is saying.

Once Cody accepts, he whisks him back through the portal to his world. Only to find himself and his mate stuck at the palace, because the king wanted to meet Cody. They get stuck there when a council was going to come there to court. Shemas wanted Kirit’s help with them. What they had not expected was it was all a test to see if Cody could handle it. With Cody’s quirky attitude, he was well-loved by many, even fighting his own battles when needed. The only problem was a dragon wants to always be the hero so he had to fix that part of it.

This story is funny and I pretty much laughed through the whole book. Every time someone said something it would be answered with, I don’t understand that. It was a recurring joke for all of them. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. It is a quirky little story and I was amazed to find out that I read it in one setting. I would recommend this story to anyone who loved the paranormal worlds, dragons, sexy men, and hot sex. Bring on book two because I can’t wait to read it.

Review: Gregory Hampton is a devoted single father putting everything he has into raising his son who he has sole custody of. Davey is an accomplished little league player, he loves baseball, but he hasn’t been playing his best lately. The uncle of one of Davey’s teammates suggests bringing Davey to the eye doctor to check his sight. What he learns when he does is that his son, so vibrant and full of life at ten years old, has a degenerative eye disease. He’s going blind.

At a cookout with his friends, one of whom is blind, Greg opens up about his concerns and takes comfort in his friends understanding and suggestions. He also catches the eye of Tom Spangler. Wasting no time, Tom makes sure Greg is gay from the start, and sets his sights on getting the gorgeous single dad to go out with him. Tom is wealthy and used to getting what he wants, but what he truly wants is someone who can see past his money, and love him as a person. Has he found that person with Greg?
Greg is hesitant to open up to Tom as well, he too has some issues with trusting that someone could get past his baggage and just love him and his son. It’s a lot to ask of a guy, to take on a single father with a blind child. But Tom does just that. He learns as much as he can about Davey’s blindness, even researching beep baseball. It’s a bumpy start, but soon Tom and Greg are dating and getting to know each other, and Davey certainly approves. Then Joyce, Davey’s physically and emotionally absent mother, shows up with her “doctor” boyfriend in tow and stirs up a hornet’s nest.

It’s one thing to be born blind and never know color, sight or scenery. Little Davey has experienced all of this, and lost it, so he is angry and confused. Grey didn’t a phenomenal job of showing the full range of emotions that a ten year old boy would display in this situation. This was a new side of Grey I saw in this story as well. Instead of going for the passionate love story between the two male leads, he went for the building of the relationship between Greg, Tom AND Davey. After all, they are meant to become a family.

Another exceptional story in the Senses series by Andrew Grey. What makes this series in particular so good is the way Grey builds the story around the person with the disability and shows that they are still a person with a depth of feeling that is even stronger because of what they have lost. Each character grows stronger with love and friendship, which is a constant circle within these stories.

The story in this book could be read by itself, but to fully appreciate the various characters and their background stories, I suggest you read them in order. And I definitely recommend this book, this series, this author across the board.

Blurb: In 2134, the United States of America no longer exists as a world superpower. Americans struggle to keep from being completely conquered by their numerous and determined enemies. Scientists have begun to genetically engineer soldiers to fight the war in place of true humans. These men are stronger, faster, and more impervious to injuries. These soldiers are created in labs, and then once they’re birthed, they’re shipped to the compounds of the American Freedom Front where they’re trained exclusively to fight.

Baxter and Addison are two such soldiers. They’re from different compounds, but serve in the same unit. Baxter isn’t the most intelligent of the soldiers, and he knows it. His job is to kill the bad guys, and do nothing else. Addison, however, although he understands his place in the world, also yearns for more. He doesn’t want to be just a killer, but to have some other kind of life, and he’s discovered he wants that life to be with Baxter.

During the height of battle, when their unit decides to stop fighting and makes a desperate run for the border toward freedom into Mexico, Baxter and Addison quickly find they have only the certainty of their love to get them through the dangers they are about to face.(

Review: Hearts on the Line is a very different story for me. It is Sci-fi- futuristic and has action and adventure. It’s not that I don’t like sci/fi. It’s just not something I read a lot of. I read the blurb on this it and it sounded like something I would like. I loved it.
This story is set in the future and has a sort of post-apocalyptic feel. (Sorry folks, no Zombies). It is about a group of genetically engineered soldiers. These are men that are human, living breathing men, who have been developed in a lab to have superior strength, fighting skills, eat less, be stronger etc. The perfect soldier. There are two groups one with a bit more intelligence to be officers then there are the grunts developed for front line fighting, basically cannon fodder. Though it’s pushed aside, these men do have feelings and suffer pain. This part of the story really tugged on my heartstrings.

Baxter and Addison are the main characters. They are bio genetically created. Addison is the leader of his group of eight men. Baxter is his second in command. Baxter was injured the previous year and Addison had worried he would be put down, but Addison pulled a few strings to keep Baxter in his unit and by his side. Baxter meant more to Addison than just a good soldier. Baxter is Addison best friend and he couldn’t imagine life without Baxter. Baxter feels the same for Addison, except he doesn’t feel worthy of Addison since he is an officer and meant to move up and go places, Baxter cant. Can you see the romance already and the action?

Baxter and Addison’s group was moved into the front lines for a mission, both men can since some problems, not only is it dangerous enemy territory but now the Trues (full humans fear of being taken over by the GE( genetically engineered) so they have no problems pushing them into danger to try to get rid of them. (Cruel and heartless isn’t it?)
I think you see the basic story, it’s a group of GEs sent on a dangerous mission, they have a secret plan to try to find a better life and there is romance blooming between Baxter and Addison. There is also another sweet twist in the last section of this story that I found so sweet. Yes I am such a romantic and this one sent my romance meter pinging!

The world building isn’t bad. My only issue was that there is many codes used like GE (genetic engineered), AFF, etc. They are explained, but I kept forgetting what it meant, but it wasn’t a big deal. There wasn’t a lot of big unusual, hard to pronounce names, which I found great. That’s one of my biggest pet peeves in this genre so this was very easy to read.

The romance was beautiful, there wasn’t a lot of sex, but what there was is very well done, mostly off the page and I found it loving and sensual, very befitting for these two men. Addison and Baxter are on my favourite couples list for this year.

If you like futuristic worlds, A little science fiction, bio-engineered beings, soldiers, friends to lovers, sweet romance and sensual man-love, camaraderie, some twists and turns this is for you!
