Blurb: During a time when love between two chaps was not spoken of, Deklan and Logan found a way to bring their affair of the heart to life. One was the white son of a wealthy Plantation owner, and the other a black servant who worked the property to survive.

This romantic fairytale took place in the deep south of Georgia in the late eighteenth century where horse carriages and kerosene lighted lanterns brought a town to life. Deklan and Logan’s affair was ignited one night with the help of a mysterious man who magically appeared and then disappeared without a trace after leading them into the realms of love.

Love was found, Love was lost and then Love was found again in a spiraling and uplifting fairytale between two lovable beings that were meant to be in love.

Review: Logan lives as a servant to a rich family in Georgia in the 1800’s. Not only is it frowned upon to associate with the hired help, but Logan is also black and gay. Tolerance only goes so far, and in the Deep South during this time Logan is not well tolerated. He suffers hatred from the other servants, enjoying his escapes down to the pond, taking moonlight swims. It’s during one of these swims he first meets Deklan, the son of his master.

At a ball thrown in Deklan’s honor, intended for him to choose a bride, Deklan chooses Logan. Deklan’s father is beyond outraged. A servant, a black man, and a man?! No, not his son. He puts the motions into play to find his son a suitable bride to marry and produce an heir. Successfully driving a wedge between Deklan and Logan. But fate won’t be silenced and in several strange twists of fate, Deklan and Logan are given a second chance at love.

I loved the base concept of this story, an interracial gay love story with a Cinderella twist. And the setting, the time period. I was born and raised in Georgia and I saw the hatred toward anyone different first hand. There were three kids of people acceptable in heart of the south, Straight, White, strict Southern Baptist. Anything or anyone else was just wrong. So I could connect with that part of the story on a personal level. The struggle that Deklan faced trying to get his family to accept the person he loved was heart breaking, and very well conveyed.

Overall, my connection with the story and the characters was choppy though. The story was sometimes sporadic and scattered, didn’t flow well from start to finish. Some of the phrasings and words used confused me, as well. I realize there are only so many words that can be used to describe the male anatomy, the love between two men and making love. But most of the phrasings for this story were too grandiose or too childish, in my miniscule opinion.

I’m on the fence with this one. On the one hand, I loved the story, concept and relationship between the two ML. But on the other hand, when they were supposed to be in a passionate setting whether making love or having sex, it came across more like a children’s book. Like the author couldn’t decide between YA and NA. That and the choppy delivery of the book overall, made my rating a little lower than I wanted it to be.

At the time of my review this book is on sale for 99 cents, grab a copy and decide for yourself if it’s a fantastic read, don’t take my word for it!

Review: This is book two in this series and they need to read in order. In some series, the main characters are not the same as the books before them. However, the main characters in these are the same ones so to understand them better you need to start with book one. It is an amazing story that you will love.

Silver was living with his mate Connor but he was still missing something. He wanted to know who he was. Having lost his memory when Connor had first come across him in wolf form, he didn’t know who he was. Connor had named him Silver. With the help of his new family, he was living happily.

However, undercover agents start asking questions and even have a picture of Silver. Wanting desperately to know who he was and what he had done to bring the government to them. He had to come up with a plan. Well Connor had fixed that part by hitting him upside the head. What a way to do it….

With his memory back, he found out his name was Jasper and his entire pack had been abducted by the government, thanks to a teen who ran away from home. The teen had been captured and after torture, had given his pack and many others up. Now the government wanted all shifters to work for them. Silver had been one of those captured but when an operation went bad, Silver had escaped. After being injured by a bear, he had lost his memory.

They had made a plan to help get Silver’s family and pack out of captivity. They had realized that their fear really did exist. For there were many higher up agents that did know about them. A war was on its way. Then the worst thing happened the government had kidnapped Silver’s mate Connor and many others. They knew it would take the whole paranormal world to get everyone back and to fight what they knew was coming.

You will be captivated by this new series. It left me hanging though, now I will have to get the third book in this series to find out what happens. I loved it. It has everything you would want in a book. Shapeshifters, witches, vampires, danger, excitement, two hot and sexy men, and a love so powerful that it will make you blush.

Review: This is a very powerful short story. The title is perfect, as my emotions took flight, complete with turbulence, storms, and a happy landing. The way the authors writes was powerful enough to make some of the more emotional scenes feel like a kick to the chest, other times I was feeling as scared and hurt as the main character, angry, impressed, frustrated, then crying. In my admittedly often twisted standards, if any work of art, including writing, can make me feel so strongly and keep my attention from beginning to end, it is successful.

Often times in life you have to make painful, yet mature, decisions, you can’t live your life entirely for someone else, you need to make sacrifices yes, but there is a fine line. Hunter found that line, but is afraid of what it might mean to step across it.

This is a story of love, commitment, heartbreak, reality, and misunderstanding, and yes, a happy ending. A must read!

Review: Cole Alston has come home to settle his mother’s affairs after her death. He left home right out of college and rarely came back, he was embarrassed by his parents hoarding affliction. His mother was so far gone that she died in the very house that Cole was dreading stepping back into. Always feeling like his parents loved their material possessions more than their own son, Cole craved the unconditional love he’d always missed. Because of this need, he landed in the arms of a controlling, domineering and abusive man. For 7 years, Cole withstood the abuse.

Jeremy Collins has experienced love and loss himself. Both his wife and his sister have died and Jeremy is pretty much a loner, aside from his sister-in-law, who he has remained close to. No one in their little North Carolina town even knows Jeremy is bi-sexual, aside from her.
There is a small spark between the two men from the start, but Cole’s past assures that he will keep Jeremy at arm’s length. Not to mention that Cole is certain Jeremy is straight. As the days pass and Jeremy helps Cole clear out his parent’s house and sell’s items through his antique business, the two grow closer and eventually the relationship becomes sexual. At the start, it’s a friend’s with benefits type thing, but soon Cole is out of his element when his feelings continually grow into more. When his past catches up with him, will Cole stand tall? Or will he flee again?

This was a short and engaging audio book. The narration left a little something to be desired, but I have heard worse. I did enjoy the journey with Cole as I was given pieces of his back story here and there while he goes about cleaning out his child hood home, with every intention of speeding out-of-town as soon as he’s done. But gradually he begins to fall in love with Jeremy. The best part of this book though, for me, was something that happened at the end. I have never seen Karma come around and give it back before like this, it was fantastic, and I loved it. So that got higher markings. The mediocre narration lost a mark though, with a better narrator, this would easily have been a 5 star read.

I’d recommend this book, but perhaps the print version.

Blurb: There is no escape…

Frustrated by the FBI’s silence over a suspicious link between recent murders in Georgia and his own experience, Cole moves to undercover the truth. Review: Cole has retreated back to Denver with his nephew in the wake of his sister’s murder by the calculated killer, Poinsette. Trying to build a safe and happy home for himself and Billy, Cole settles into a routine, but he is still haunted by the same nightmare. And he misses Cash.

After the two discuss a visit several times, and they always fall through, Cash simply buys a ticket and gets on a plane to Denver. Cole is wary of being in another relationship after his last one that was a disaster, but Cash makes him feel safe, and that is exactly what he needs right now. They take their relationship to the next level, but Cole is still anxious and holding back.

Bodies are turning up again as well, eerily similar to the previous murders just months before. The investigators tell Cole there is no link, but he’s not so sure. Cole is determined to find out the truth about his past, why Poinsette targeted him and why more people are being killed even now. His relationship with Cash is turned upside down and the stress put on the two men is compounded by the introduction of a new love interest. Zander is sexy, confident and snarky… and he is pursuing Cole. In a moment of weakness, Cole makes a mistake that just may cost him Cash. Not to mention that pesky killer(s) that want him dead.

This story is full of drama, suspense, love and determination. While I enjoyed the first book, I loved this one! The story flowed strong and steady throughout giving more insight into Cole’s past and the machinations behind ‘The Taker’. Who is he and why is he so set on killing Cole? There is a lot of personal growth for our indecisive and uncertain male lead as well as Cole makes a few more mistakes, but grows from them and ultimately makes the right decision.

The character of Cole Mouzon has quickly become one of my favourite male leads. As I said, he is indecisive and uncertain at times but he has so much courage and inner strength coupled with his awkward attitude that you can’t help but fall in love with him, and root for him. And as much as I liked the introduction of this new snazzy sexy character, Zander, I am team Cash all the way!

I do love a good murder mystery that is choked full of twists, turns and suspense. I was a good two-thirds through before I had a solid idea of exactly who ‘The Taker’ was. If you’re looking for a book that will grab you, suck you in, and not let you go until you reach the sneak peek at book 3… This is perfection, I promise!

Review: I found this a fun refreshing story. I love T.A. Chase. The author has a way with characters.

This is sort of a Cinderella story formula, middle-class-boy, Ion, has crush very rich, hot sexy boss Adrien. Adrien has a secret crush on Ion too. The get together and love blooms. It does move fast. I mean 0-60 fast but for some reason it worked for me. The story is interesting very sexy and fast paced. I was to the end before I knew it.( I will say I was a bit surprised at the abrupt ending and would have liked a bit more conclusion, but I got over it and picked up the next book. You should probably have it handy.

I loved these men. Actually, I loved everyone in the book. Ion is hard-working and sweet. Adrien is successful but not so caught up in his riches that he looks down on others. He is perfect. (Hey, it’s a book we can have perfect.) I even loved Patrick, Ions best friend and Adrien’s personal assistant. He is fresh and flamboyant and I wanted more of him. Adrien’s Parents were great too, though Ion’s were a bit off.

So if you are looking for a sweet, fun, charming story, with some hot sex to fill an hour or so I strongly suggest this (and book two also).
If you like expensive suits, mail-boys with big ideas and crushes on boss, hot sexy multimillionaires, family ties, great friends and some hot mansex this book is for you!

Review: This is book one and two of the McIntyre Men. Book one is about Bobby’s plan to at least top his boyfriend once. He had planned on having his Uncle Henry show Devon how good bottoming was. He wanted Henry to show him an excellent time, but he got caught in his own web. He had to sample Uncle Henry too.

Things didn’t go as plan. He had enjoyed Henry way more than planned. He wanted Devon to catch him topping a pledge brother. Making him run to Henry for comfort. What he had not expected was his father handcuffing him to the chair and watching while he and Henry played with Devon. Making Devon beg to be taken.

He was so turned on and so pissed at the same time. For his father and uncle had decided to teach him a lesson. Devon had been the perfect boyfriend. Caring, loyal and devoted to Bobby. He wanted to bottom for Bobby but he was scared. However to get even with the evil plan that Bobby had come up with he had decided to let Bobby’s dad be his first.

His father had more than just that lesson for him to learn. He had left him cuffed to the table for the campus police to find. One was a married man who wanted to watch while the other officer showed Bobby just how well he topped him. It doesn’t stop there though, because campus police had something else in mind to teach Bobby a lesson.

He had to put camera’s to catch three other pledges in their glory. This story was more about sex then actually having a true story. I mean it does show what happens when someone plans something so devious that someone always gets hurt. It was a very hot story. However, it was not something that I would spend my time with. It was just a lot of boys having sex.

Review: Curious Sustenance was one of those really fun books to read. It is sweet and charming with a bit of sensuality. I rated it moderate but all the sex is pretty much off the page, though it is very sensual and loving. This is just a great story and though it does center on Shibari (a type of bondage) it isn’t overly explicit.

I absolutely loved the story. I loved Ross. He really is a fabulous character and I give him props for going through with weightwatchers. I hated his ex, such a jerk. Miles is also hot and sexy. Who wouldn’t fall for him? The story has a decent plot and I loved the interaction of all the characters. I feel there is a little bit of everything in this story. I will say I wish the ending had been just a bit more conclusive but I was pleased.

If you like have wanted to read a story with a bit of bondage but not wanting a lot of explicitness, Shibari and this book is a perfect place to start. I highly recommend this to anyone that likes a good sweet romance, that is fast pace, holds, your attention, if you like BDSM, Shibari, weightwatchers, tight friendships, close family relationships, and some sensual mansex!

Xander like things simple. He tried to keep up with the big boys, and failed disastrously. Now, he’s sworn off the bad boys he’s always been drawn to so irresistibly. But he’s finally forced to admit that his determination to play it safe has resulted in nothing but a string of bad (read: boring) dates. Luckily, his friend Lara knows what he really needs. Losing to her strategically played bet sees Xander stepping into a whole new world.

Paul is on a mission: Make Xander his. After months spent quietly falling for him from a distance, Paul is a more than willing pawn in Lara’s hands. He’ll pull out all the stops — sexy kilt and all — to introduce Xander to the beauty of submission at a loving Dom’s feet. But even if the sting of deceit is deemed forgivable, Xander can’t imagine what a sexy powerhouse like Paul wants with a quiet, unassuming boy like Xander.

Author’s Note:
There is hot sex in this story, but the issue of protection is left somewhat ambiguous. The author does not condone unprotected sex. In real life, be safe without question.

Review: Short, Sexy and Steamy… my three favourite colors!

Xander is confident but reserved, outgoing but shy. Yes, I know, he’s a conundrum! Let’s just say he let his guard down one night and he has sports the scar as a constant reminder of that mistake. So he is wary of opening up again, especially with Paul, his best friend’s boss and the man that found him that night. He doesn’t even remember what Paul looks like, just that the man saw him at his worst, so Xander never wants to see him again.

Paul is a very successful businessman who is used to being in charge and getting what he wants. And what he wants now is Xander. Owner of the local BDSM bar and a Dom, he sets up a plan along with Xander’s best friend, to get Xander into his club for a night where Paul can secretly make his move.

Xander is overwhelmed to begin, but he is so hyper aware of the Dom that has taken him under his wing, that he just goes with it. When Paul is exposed as the one man Xander dreaded ever meeting again, he flees. Paul is completely out of his element and dumbfounded at being presently rejected and left standing on the street, alone, when Xander runs. Will he get his act together and go after what he wants, per the norm? Or has Xander gotten him so off his game that he allows the young man who has dominated his thoughts for the past year to walk away, without a fight.

This is a BDSM book, Paul is a Dom and Xander is a natural Submissive. BUT, there is nothing angry or violent about this book that I have seen a lot in the genre. While Paul has to be in control and demands the respect of a sub, he is also loving and gentle with Xander, making sure that his needs are met as well. This novella was just so damn sexy and sensual that I almost forget it was BDSM. And there was a short scene where a “scene” was acted out and that as well was done sensually and tastefully.

Hey, this is a FREE read so what do you have to lose! Grab your copy now and curl up for a hot lunch or a quick fling before bed!!

Review: Book three in the Vanquished series comes and treats us to a surprising twist. We’ve been used to mortals being in the mercy of demons, Princes and Kings being vanquished by the sublime torments of extreme pleasure, but this time around, the author has granted us with yet another being extraordinaire.

There is not much to say about this new addition to the series. The sexual games work in the same path though there are new kinks introduced. The cruelty of the main characters is always followed by their love and nurturing nature as weird as it may seem for demons to behave this way. The main change came with Jonah’s new role. Though he remains a very wanton Uke, he took on a leading role in the previous book, which turned into full sadistic Seme into this one for a short spell. This new version of Jonah was definitely not met favourably from me.

So, in this book, we have a thief breaking and entering King Cain’s realm without anyone noticing him. How very weird this was in itself, but when the thief is caught, things become weirder still. It seems as if this thief is seeking punishment, instead of avoiding it… He seems to be quite cocky too and secure in some hidden knowledge. Could it be that this particular thief is much, much more than he seems?

I have made up my mind and my favourite character in this series is definitely Randell. He is the perfect sadist for my poor dark heart and he manages to make me smile each and every time I read another installment. King Caine is the sweet sort. No matter how hard he tries to be severe and cruel, deep inside his heart he’s a damned softie; there’s no other explanation for his behaviour. I would have love to see him in a vulnerable position and damn if this wasn’t the perfect opportunity to do so, but I guess the author wanted her Seme unspoiled. In any case, this new twist in the plot may very well produce interesting and enticing future installments.

Blurb: Secrets and Lies…Everyone has them. Big ones. Little ones.

For Trevor Mayne and Jamie Vaughn, secrets and lies are how they’ve made their fourteen-year friendship work. Don’t talk about it. Ignore it and it won’t be real. Pretend like everything’s fine between the two of them.

Jamie can’t live like this anymore. He’s in love with Trevor, his best friend who just happens to be straight. Tired of hiding his feelings, he decides to walk away. From their friendship. From his hometown. From his business.

But before Jamie gets a chance to leave, a freak accident leaves Trevor with amnesia. A new blank perspective leaves him confused about the inconsistencies of what he’s told his life should be vs. the feelings that he knows he has. Now those secrets and lies, that should be safer than ever, are suddenly front and center and changing everything between them.

Their world is at risk because their secrets and lies aren’t the only ones at play here. There’s a bigger lie out there and it could just destroy everything, as they get closer and closer to the secret hidden in depths of the Snowcroft forest.

Review: This is a kind of interesting twist on the gay-for-you theme. Trevor is found unconscious and injured on the side of a trail he has run regularly. When he wakes, he has amnesia, and seems to also have forgotten that he’s a player, for the boys who like girls team. Jamie doesn’t know if this is the biggest blessing of his life, or if he cursed to have his heart broken by the time Trevor regains his memories.

All along, we are woven into a plot about kidnapped LGBT kids, an evil youth correction camp leader who happens to be Trevor’s uncle, and many suspects with guns. It’s adventuresome, full of action and some bromance, and some odd angles. I like that Jamie designs houses, and runs a construction company, it’s the creative ones that turn my crank. There were a ton of secondary characters introduced and that made my head spin a bit. That also made for a huge list of suspects that totally twisted and had me taking backwards steps to see how I guessed wrong, then right, then wrong again.

While the murder/kidnapping/mystery story line develops, Trevor does begin to gain some of his old memories back, and still has a powerful attraction to Jamie. He is convinced that such a basic natural instinct can’t be wrong. After Jamie’s insistence that they not act on their desires until after Trevor talks to a therapist about it, the sparks really begin to fly. Unfortunately, they are interrupted many times throughout the story, but not to worry, they finally get their moment just right.

I love a good mystery, and I was surprised by the who and why of this one. Though there is a very painful climax at the end of the story, I’m sure it was to set up the next book with an emotional investment. Overall, I was entertained, though too many characters needed more back story, more development. I got confused for a bit. It will be interesting to see where the author brings the story next, and how the characters grow and become interconnected.

Blurb: Count Vladimir Dracul never suspected that the human he found hiding in his stables will change his life and the way he sees the world. But once he finds Béla, Vlad can’t give him up. Fighting prejudices against humans, a vampire Count wanting his blood donor back, and a threat from an old enemy seem like small battles compared to the one he has to fight to win Béla’s heart.

Béla was terrified of the vampire that found him and decided to keep him. His experience with vampires has never been good so he has no reason to trust Vlad, even if he wanted to. But when his former owner comes looking for him, Béla has to find the courage to save the one man who has come to mean more to him than his freedom.
With the help of a few crazy friends, a werewolf mob boss, and two insane brothers, Vlad and Béla just might have a chance at happiness…if the Ministry of Paranormal Affairs doesn’t get to them first.

Review: I have found a new favorite series. This is book one and they should all be read in order. When you put Stormy and Lynn together to write a book you have an amazing read. I love the worlds that they have designed. The characters are so beautiful in looks, attitude, and heart. You can’t help but fall in love with them. This story caught my attention from the very start and kept it all the way to the end.

Bela was what one calls a blood slave to a very nasty vampire. He had been physically hurt and didn’t even have a name. He was always known as boy. He finally manages to escape only to end up in another vampire coven. However, it took just a short time before he realized that Vlad had no intention to hurt him. He didn’t even want to feed or have sex with him unless Bela offered it because he wanted to.

Vlad notices a heart beat in the stables and goes in search of who had it. What he found didn’t even look like a human let alone smell like one. However once he got him in the bath and cut the tangles from his hair he realizes that it was not only a man but also a beautiful one. After finally getting him to talk, he realizes he doesn’t even have a name. So he names him Bela and starts to show him trust. What he couldn’t figure out is why Bela and his assistant went at it like cats and dogs. They were constantly fighting and it was quite a sight. His assistant was a vampire and Bela is a human, yet Iggy was scared of him. Now that will give you a great laugh.

Bela’s old owner hadn’t marked him so he has Bela branded so no one could get him. However, Upir wanted Bela back, but the reason shocks Vlad. However, he will do everything in his power not only to protect his mate but also to keep him. There are still a lot of dangers coming but at least they will be together.

I love the humor in this story. It is amazing. I have always loved the paranormal worlds and when you throw in hot men, it gets even better. I love the way Vlad is so tender and caring with Bela. I also love the names that they were given it was pretty awesome choices. It also kept me laughing throughout the whole story.

If you love the paranormal world, vampires, werewolves, little human’s, love, excitement and danger then this is the book for you.

Review: The gay version of The Holiday! Noah would be Cameron Diaz, and Robert would be Kate Winslet.

Noah Daniels and Robert Callinan share a desire to do something more with their lives. Both are college teachers, Noah in America and Robert in the UK, but they are both tired of their mundane lives, searching for something different… something more. So they swap jobs, lives and houses for 6 months.

Robert is eager to learn more about his American counterpart, studying the pictures of him scattered throughout his home and pumping Noah’s brother, Mitch, for more personal information.

Noah is fascinated with idea of Robert and upon inspection of the man’s home, he finds Robert’s secret DVD stash. Noah has always felt like there was something inside him that didn’t click, like there was something he was missing. When he sees Robert on-screen having lots of sex, in various positions, with various lovers, everything finally clicks. Noah is gay, and he is enamoured with the man he is watching. Noah recognizes something in Robert’s eyes though in the videos, a longing for something more, something missing.

Through lots of late night conversations over the months they are sharing each other’s lives, Noah and Robert decide to meet and take their summer break together, touring the UK. It’s on this vacation that the two become lovers. Noah is young and fresh and his crush on the slightly older sexy man soon grows into something more. Robert is slightly jaded and not quite ready to admit that Noah has wrapped himself around his heart, like a knot.

I absolutely LOVE Lily Velden. I have read all her books and I love the way she is very detailed and descriptive without being overly descriptive. You are captured by her characters and she has a way of making you ‘feel’ like you are right there with them, no matter the circumstance. They are always three-dimensional, realistic and flawed in some way. That makes them human which is what makes her books so fantastic.

As you travel down the road of self-discovery with Noah you will laugh, you will cry and your heart will break for him. He goes through so much and his world is turned upside down in a very short time. Robert could have easily been an unlikable character, but Velden wrote him in such a way that the reader was captivated by his charm and understanding of his hesitancy.

Sexy, passionate, endearing and romantic… even if there is a little heart-break in there as well. For those folks out there that refuse to read a book without a happy ending, I’ll tell you that you will get a happy ending, just not exactly how it is delivered. This is definitely a must read, it will have a permanent slot on my kindle so I can re-read it whenever and wherever and all the time!

Only a select few in the human world knew of the existence of the V-Unit, a small group of highly trained Marines – who happened to be vampires. And it would have stayed that way. But when events in the vampire world, threatened the stability of the human world, the powers that be called for the unit’s specialized services.

Review: I was quite surprise by this story. It was not what I had expected and to my surprise, I actually liked it a lot. It brings things home to you. It makes your heart sing to see to men get what they want in the end. It will also make you cry to know the pain that they went through to get to where they are in the end. I have never really understood why people have so much hate in their souls and hearts. Nor do I understand why people can’t understand that you should be allowed to love whom you want. This story gives you two wonderful men who have the desires to be with each other and the way the church tries to put an end to it. So much so, that it drives one man to pretend he is dead and start a new life somewhere else. He left so much behind.

Chris had fallen in love with Joshua and when he learned he had been killed it nearly drove him insane. Now many years later he finds out Joshua is alive and is going by the name of Julien. He doesn’t know whether to be extremely pissed off or to actually forgive him. He hasn’t seen him in so long but when Julien comes back to try to make amends, he has to see where it will go.
Julien is very much in love with Chris and it has left him with a lot of fears and pain. He knows that he has caused not only pain to his family but to the man he loves also. He wants to fix things with his family but he is not going to give up a life with Chris. You can feel the love that they have for each other. You can also feel the pain when everyone seems to want to fix them, to keep them apart.

I can’t believe what these two men most have felt and gone through to get them to this point in time. To have the strength to go against everything they had been taught is an amazing lesson some should learn. I can say that these two authors have put together a story that everyone should read at least once in their lives. To see what some people do go through when they are dealing with families. I wished that everyone would feel the way these two men love one another. It would be a gift to be able to love so deeply and to be love back in the same strength.

I would recommend this story to everyone who wants to feel such strength, such love, and such loyalties. It also doesn’t hurt that these two men are hot and they are showing signs of being kinky. It will be an amazing read.

Cat & K.Z. Chat!

Hi Everyone! I am so excited! Our Lovely Mistress Portia and Book Goddess Pixie asked me if I’d want to do an interview with the talented K.Z. Snow about her paranormal steampunk Mongrel series. I jumped at the chance.

Cat: Welcome K.Z to our lovely dungeon oops I meant workroom, don’t pay any attention to the minions chained to desks or the floggers and other implements hanging on the wall.

KZ: Hi, Cat, and thanks for the invite! Don’t worry; I was warned how crazy you ladies can be, so I mentally prepared myself. 🙂

Cat: I just finished book three of your Mongrel series and absolutely loved it. What inspired you to write this series?

KZ: When I discovered the genre known as steampunk, I was fascinated. I liked its combination of history, fantasy, and sci fi. I liked its grittiness. Some steampunk even had a slightly dark edge, and I liked that type the best. But there was virtually no m/m romance set in a steampunk world. I took that as a challenge. How could love, especially love between two men, flourish in a grungy, often oppressive environment that paralleled the late 19th century?

Cat:  Did you know it was going to be a series when you started or did it just keep growing?

KZ: I didn’t know! When I finished Mongrel (Book 1), I went on to other projects. But the enthusiasm of certain readers combined with my own love of the characters persuaded me to return to that world and explore it further.

Ah, the life of a rock star. Everyone thinks it’s nothing but sex, drugs, and rock and roll.

Not for Giovanni Savale.

For the lead singer of Three Deaf Mice, a band that reached its pinnacle in the late nineties, it’s nothing but an ugly divorce with a custody battle, money trouble, and now the nightmare exposure of starring in a reality television show. When his producer decides to cash in on an infamous interview Gio did years ago, and give the self-confessed bisexual rocker an onscreen boyfriend, things really hit the fan. Gio is certain his sexual experimentation back in his drug-abusing days meant nothing — after all he’s been married for nine years, clean and sober for nearly as long, and he has a son. And Gio is not remotely attracted to Kyrie, the funny, flamboyant actor they choose for his love interest. Of course, Lance Garrett, the mysterious and sexy owner of the local antique shop, Double Takes, is a whole different story. The guy has Gio planning out a future he never imagined. With the threat of losing all custody of his ten-year-old son, ghosts from the past returning for revenge, and the cameras rolling, can Gio keep his head above water and his heart from getting broken?

Review: A mysterious person sends a basket to Aspen sending him on a new adventure after his father tries to coerce him into being with someone he doesn’t want to be with. He meets sexy Garren Thomas his boss. The two men are attracted to each other, yet fight it. It was a delightful book to read.

As Garren fought the attraction and tried to stay professional, it was a battle he’d lose. I really enjoyed seeing how they both handled working together and the attraction they felt for one another. Aspen is sweet and cute while Garren is sexy and commanding in his presence. When they finally get together, it is explosive and hot.
