Blurb: Dare Buckley has come home—or at least, he’s come back to Palladian, the small town he left as a teenager. After a major lapse in judgment forced him to resign from the Seattle PD, Palladian is the only place that’ll hire him. There’s one benefit to hitting rock bottom, though: the chance to investigate the mystery of his father’s suicide.

Dare also gets to reacquaint himself with Finn Fowler, whose childhood hero worship ended in uncomfortable silence when Dare moved away. But Finn isn’t the same little kid Dare once protected. He’s grown into an attractive, enigmatic stranger who neither wants nor needs what Dare has to offer.

In fact, Dare soon realizes that Finn’s keeping secrets—his own and the town’s. And he doesn’t seem to care that Dare needs answers. The atmosphere in Palladian, like its namesake river, appears placid, but dark currents churn underneath. When danger closes in, Dare must pit his ingenuity against his heart, and find his way home the hard way.

Review: I swear this book should begin with the phrase, “A dark and stormy night…” The whole image, feel, and plot of this story had a dark, malevolent feel to it. Much like the wastewater in the river, the townspeople were toxic. The question is why, and what will wash away the evil that is lurking in the shadows on those dark and stormy nights?
From the beginning, the author makes us feel some kind of dark threat in Finn, from his lurking behavior in the parking lot, to his quite connectedness to Bill the bully.

We know that Finn is hiding something, from the reason behind his limp, to what his side work may be. But what is the big secret? I admit to thinking even darker nefarious thoughts about Finn’s connection to Dare’s father’s death, glad that wasn’t the case, but the end was still surprising.

The writing was smooth, though my favorite aspect was that the environment in the story reflected the emotional and behavioral state of the main characters. I like those layers in a good mystery, and Maxfield slips them in as more people get involved in the plot and Dare’s attachment to Finn grows stronger even though it could ruin him the same way his career was destroyed in Seattle.

All in all a dark tale, a mystery that kept me on the hook until the end, and a sizzling sexual heat between Dare and Finn that kept me on my toes the whole time. A great read, I’d definitely recommend!

Blurb: An archeology student and the handsome vampire he resurrects in the Texas desert explore the moral and passionate possibilities of a life together.

He is tempted to accept Ashe’s offer only to find that his choice has been settled by fate.

Review: This story was not quite what I expected. I am not really sure if I even liked it. I suppose some parts of it caught me and kept me, but at first, I thought about the romance these two men had but the fact that they had more sexual conquest then each other left me cold. It also showed me a side of the vampire that I did not really like at all. I can see them having to take blood from those but the story itself was just too dark.

Matt was an archeology student and had grown up on a story that came down from way in his family line. It was of a man who was called Bloody Man. He was told that the man left them cursed, the land would die, and there were more deaths in and out of the family, miscarriages, and just normal lore. So after finding a map that his grandfather had, he had to look. What he found was a grave with a man in it that didn’t quite look like a dead man should. Then the man’s eyes opened and so did his mouth. The fangs showed exactly what Matt had let out. Then the teeth were in his throat.

Ashe had not known what Matt’s family had told him about him. He was not exactly what they expected, he was a vampire though. He wanted Matt and would do everything and anything in his power for him. Including leaving him, that is until Matt called needing him back. After a deadly accident Ashe had to turn him, with is Matt’s mother telling Ashe he had to do it. She regretted it after learning what it truly meant. Ashe knew that if they were not careful Matt would turn into the monster that they were called.

Matt loved Ashe, but he felt that it was like a drug calling for him. He needed him and he knew the dangers that would happen for them. He had to learn what Ashe obviously knew deep down in his heart. Things were going to change and it might not be for the good.
Like I said I am not really sure if I liked it or not. It was in the present but it would switch back into the past letting you know how Ashe became like he was.

The part I really couldn’t stand was the fact that there were a lot of sexual scenes with women. That just made it depressing for me. Had they just stayed with attacking and drinking from men then it might have been different. But, that is just me. It was told with a flare and had a twist that many would like though. It was written really well, just not for me.

Review: This was an amazing story. Each book in Bonds of Justice Series focuses on a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, we recommend reading the series in sequential order. It keeps me from getting a bit lost in the stories and gives me an insight in to their world.

A world that captured my attention from the start and kept it all the way to the end. I love the way each character just mixes with the others. How fast they are to defend what is theirs and what they believe. I also love the little twist that this story has. If you love paranormal stories then you will love this.

Jessie was a sub who needed a Dom, but after a horrible time with his last one, he was afraid. He had decided after a long time of going without that he wanted no he needed to try again. What he found was the perfect Dom, well that is until he not only finds out who he is but what he is. He is a werewolf and he was looking for his best friend.

Andreas was sent to look for some information on a young man who was seen with a wolf. So he was sent to mix with Jessie and see if he knew about werewolves. If he did, then there were steps to take care of it. The last one was death, if he didn’t agree. That was what the silencers were for, but Andrea was an enforcer. What he found instead was his mate. A mate that had a lot of secrets, one in fact was that was surprising to many. Well not to his best friend, because he was already going through it. There were dangers coming and it was up to the werewolves to keep their family, friends, and mates safe.

I loved this story and cannot wait to get my hands on the next story. I love the twist to this story and I can honestly say it was a blast to read.

I would recommend reading this story especially if you love sexy men, werewolves, feisty mates, excitement, amazing twists, and danger coming for them from all corners.

Review: This is book seven in this series and they should be read in order. The characters for the stories present and future are introduced in the previous books. It gives you an insight into their amazing world. A world that will draw you in and keep you there. It captured my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it there all the way to the end.

I especially love the way the bears take care of their mates. They show them attention, passion, love and protection. When one is in danger the rest stand with him, protecting them with their lives.

Steven was raised by his parents, but was treated as if no more than a rat in a cage. He had a power to see what one was thinking and feel what they were feeling. It had been getting stronger the older that he got. His parents did not love him, only thinking of him as an experiment, a subject. He ran and ended up in Bear Country. Working for a bunch of bears, not that he knew it. One in particular has his eye on him.

Colton knew in his heart that Steven was his mate. The only problem was the fact that at first he thought the man was straight, then come to the conclusion that he was in trouble. Trouble that could cost him his mate.

I have always loved paranormal stories especially when you have two very sexy men. Then you add in the fact that the mate gets pregnant and I am sold. This story will give you that, plus lots of excitement, adventure, suspense and danger. I loved the guys in this series. They are pretty amazing. It gives you everything you could want in a story.

Review: This is book 4 of the Whispering Winds series. The stories are all coming to a head now and this was so worth waiting for.
I absolutely loved the mystery that is Rowen and this story sheds a lot of lot on who he is.

In the bonus story Wicked Winds, Rowen’s cabin had been broken into and trashed. Wick was in that back finding something that pissed him off and sent him and Ned on their way. Rowen’s secrets had been revealed and he was a bit worried about how Mick would take things.

He doesn’t have long to worry since things get even worse.

There is lots of action and suspense, more of Rowen exposed and a shocking twist. Then just when I really thought things were going the way I wanted it and we were going to see Mick and Rowe go at it, a very what the F? ending. Now I can’t wait or the next book

If you like super-secret agents, lots of action and suspense, twists, and a surprise ending this is for you!

Loving Kim Jae-Min isn’t always easy: Jae is gun-shy about being openly homosexual. Ex-cop turned private investigator Cole McGinnis doesn’t know any other way to be. Still, he understands where Jae is coming from. Traditional Korean men aren’t gay—at least not usually where people can see them.

But Cole can’t spend too much time unraveling his boyfriend’s issues. He has a job to do. When a singer named Scarlet asks him to help find Park Dae-Hoon, a gay Korean man who disappeared nearly two decades ago, Cole finds himself submerged in the tangled world of rich Korean families, where obligation and politics mean sacrificing happiness to preserve corporate empires. Soon the bodies start piling up without rhyme or reason. With every step Cole takes toward locating Park Dae-Hoon, another person meets their demise—and someone Cole loves could be next on the murderer’s list.

Review: Private Detective Cole McGinnis and his lover, Kim Jae-Min, are trying to settle into as normal a relationship as their crazy lives will allow in the aftermath of Jae’s cousins death. While Cole is still haunted by the murder of his long time lover, Jae is at odds with himself. He is committed to Cole like he has never been to anyone else, but hides his sexuality for fear of being ostracized by his traditional Korean family.

When their mutual friend Scarlet asks for Cole’s PI skills in locating a friend that has been missing for close to twenty years, Cole accepts the job and soon comes to regret that decision. Wherever Cole and Jae go, madness and mayhem are sure to follow, and this time is no exception. As the bodies start to drop, Cole becomes more desperate to solve the mystery. Is Scarlet’s friend really missing, or is he dead? Worse, could he be the one doing all the killing?

What I thoroughly love about this series is the electric, scorching, white-hot fucking chemistry between Cole and Jae. I’m talking bed breaking, hip bruising, resorting to speaking another language because your brain is completely fried, mind numbing sex! It’s utterly fantastic, a thing of beauty, truly. I digress… there is more to their story. Cole is a trouble magnet. Wherever he goes, death and dismemberment are sure to follow. His body is riddled with scars from all the near misses in his life, including the shooting that took the life of his former lover. His guardian angel must be seriously exhausted. The man always manages to make it out of the most harrowing situations alive.

Then there is the vivid and wildly described Korean culture that is wrapped around Jae, his family and his friends. It is no secret how that part of the country views homosexuality and Ford pulls no punches in her scripts. Jae is so obviously and stubbornly in love with Cole, but he’d just as soon die as admit to it, he is so afraid of losing his family. It’s something that Cole couldn’t truly grasp until he is face to face with his own hateful and ignorant parents for the first time in ten years. After a blood boiling confrontation with is stepmother, Cole finally fully recognizes Jae’s fears. And I think their relationship grows stronger because of it.

Narrated by Greg Tremblay who is very monotone and matter of fact when he is portraying Cole, which is spot on with the way the character is written, but colorful and exasperating when reading Jae. Tremblay brings Cole’s dry and witty sense of humour to life while nailing all the various Asian characters with precision and finesse. Did I mention the hot, sweaty, passionate, toe curling sex? *fans self just thinking about it*

I think that Ford is such an accomplished writer that whether you chose to read or listen to this story or both, that you would have the same experience. I just always love it when a narrator can take the words and really bring them to life, which is what Tremblay has done with this series. I can’t wait to see what dangerous and deadly mystery Cole and Jae stumble into in the next book!

Blurb: Matthew Hawke’s professional life is soaring as high the powerful bird of prey whose image is inked on his back. He’s at the top of his game as the owner of an advertising agency that is scooping up prime accounts like a mighty hawk wrapping its talons around an unfortunate ground rodent. Yes, work is good. Too bad his love life has more in common with the dying rodent than the triumphant hawk.

When the thought of a sexy man trumps actually being with a sexy woman, Matthew thinks it might be time for a change. And there IS a gorgeous man at the gym he’s noticed.

Drakon Mavros is working his shapely ass off to make ends meet. His administrative assistant job at a messenger service is steady, but the money he gets from his more creative job pays most of the bills. An ex-boyfriend took his confidence, his trust and his self-esteem and Drakon is afraid to take another chance at love. When an adorably goofy man at his gym actually hurts himself trying to flirt with him, Drakon can’t resist falling under Matt’s spell. He makes Drakon feel good about himself again and praises his artistic talent – neither of which his ex ever did.

As the men begin to fall for one another, it appears nothing can go wrong – they seem to be soul mates. Secrets and lies can crack even the firmest foundation, though. It takes a true master to shore it up so that it never crumbles. Is love the mortar that can restore trust and faith and bind men forever? Only time will tell. Can Drakon and Matt take that chance?

Review: Matthew Hawk seemingly has it all. A successful business, money and the freedom the latter affords him. The thing he is missing is someone to share it all with. He’s always noticed men, but never pursued a relationship with one, that is until he meets a gorgeous dark-skinned man with a brilliant smile at the gym. Matthew is so rusty at flirting that he winds up running right off the treadmill, it’s absolutely hysterical. Drakon thinks it’s endearing that someone so good-looking would risk a bump on the head and utter embarrassment to ask him out, much less even be interested in him.

Drakon was put through the ringer by a manipulative and cheating ex that squashed his hopes and dreams, telling him he was nothing, he was worth nothing, and would always be nothing. The man was also married with a child. As a result Drakon rarely dates, trusts few people, and cannot stand to be lied to. He makes a comment early on to Matthew that he would never date a ‘big wig’, which makes Matt cringe, and lie about the fact that he is THE big wig of Hawk Advertising.

The question is, when Drake finds out will he push Matt away as just another liar? Or will the way he feels about the successful businessman override his fear or flight reflex?

A fitting addition to the ‘Men of Manhattan’ series. As with the other couplings in previous stories, these two guys have a definitive push and pull, they complement each other well. They just have to figure out how to go about it. Matthew has always dated woman, knowing that he found men attractive as well. He just never acted on that emotion. Drake has deep-rooted trust issues over his past relationship with the worst kind of man. So together, they can show each other how to feel things they’ve never felt. Love, compassion, trust and an equality in their relationship that they both not only crave, but demand from one another.

This is a must read series, hell, a must read author! Gasq-Dion has an uncanny ability to express emotion and passion in her books while still conveying a story. I can’t wait to see what this Motley Crew of friends gets themselves into next. Fingers crossed the fifth book in this series is for Ryan and SID!

Blurb: What should have been a brief interlude turns into something deeper when Lil Lampert meets Grier Dilorio at the Taste of Chicago. Lil is in town visiting good friends Jody Williams and Clark Stevens, and he didn’t plan to hook up with a younger man and discover a mutual love for architecture, interior design, and a unique sexual kink that keeps Lil coming back for more.

By all appearances, Grier is the quintessential bad boy who loves speed, tattoos, and leather, but Lil slowly uncovers another side: selfless, responsible, and tender, especially for Luca, the son he’s had to deny. With Lil’s love and support, Grier will make a decision key to opening the door to a possible future together, one that includes fatherhood, something Lil has dreamed of but has never dared to explore.

Review: Lil Lampert is vacationing in Chicago with his best friend Jody and Jody’s husband Clark (book 1 in the series) when he meets the younger, sexy, tatted up Grier Dilorio. The Taste of Chicago is an annual fair with flare and food abounding, and Lil is enjoying every delicious mouthful. He ends his first day at the fare with a mouth-watering kiss from the handsome stranger, and the promise of a date that evening.

While both men are in the mood for some fun, and the attraction won’t be denied, they also realize that some fun with a few fringe benefits is all they could possibly share. Lil is heading back home to California in a week, and Grier would never leave his family or his son behind. They are determined to enjoy what little time they have though, but Grier’s family and friends are determined to make that difficult.

Grier is not in the closet, but his family chooses to ignore his sexuality. When he was still a teenager, he had an ill-fated night with his best friend, Jillian, that resulted in a child. Jill convinced Grier that they should keep the fact that he is the father of Luca from their families, so the last eight years he’s been there for Luca in every way aside from acknowledging his parentage. And with Grier having found a man he can see spending the rest of his life with, his brother and Jill, who are now dating by the way, launch a full on assault with snide comments and homophobic attitudes that they’ve kept to themselves until now.

With Lil’s help, Grier will face the demons of his past so that he can move forward. The question is, will they move forward together? Or when Lil goes home will that be the last these two instant and intense lovers see of each other?

A story of insta-love that is wrought with emotion and betrayal. Grier has always believed that he was doing what was best for his son, and always trusted Jill to hold true to their mutual understanding. And everything is fine and hunky dory until Grier finds someone to love. Jill goes out of her way to belittle the man who is supposed to be her best friend, becomes a bigot overnight. I truly hated this woman! But then the balance was Lil. Grier and Lil barely know each other and yet, Lil is standing by his side ready to fight for him, with him, for what is right. I truly loved this man!

Narrated by the best in the biz, Paul Morey, Taste kept me entertained and engrossed from start to finish. Morey can tell a story like no other, so when he has such an intriguing story to work with and convey to listeners, so that you can still have a solid grasp of the characters and storyline, it’s fantastic. To say that Grier and Lil have an instant and intense connection is almost an understatement. Their chemistry was off the charts sexy. And Grier’s little kink, while I found it odd at first, it was written in such a way that it became just another part of him, almost like an appendage.

If you are a fan of the insta-love stories, struggling and overcoming, a little bit of a lingerie kink and Paul Morey’s sultry voice that just drips off your ear buds like honey off the comb, then you don’t want to pass this one up!

Then a new client arrives. It’s Charlie wanting sex tips… for a date with Zach. Zach goes through with the appointment, convinced it’s over if Charlie recognizes him.

Review: The idea of selling your sexual services for big money may seem erotic and a way to make some fast cash, but the reality is ugly. Zach’s career choice while earning money for college loses him the chance to have a real relationship with his online sex buddy Charlie. His regular clients start to get complicated and dangerous all the while Zach keeps hiding his secret from Charlie.

Having sex with Zach while keeping his identity secret is a double-edged sword. He gets to enjoy his intimate encounters with Charlie, but knows he’ll only hurt him in the end.

When one of Zach’s clients gets dangerous enough to leave Zach seeking medical attention, Zach and Charlie have to face the truth, and the future looks bleak.

There is a happy ending, but I was still left unsatisfied somehow. Maybe I can’t wrap my head around being romantically involved with a prostitute, knowing it and trying to live with it. The BDSM content is scary and other times made fun of, so I would not recommend this book for those who enjoy the BDSM genre.

When he and Trav decide to take a risk that Mackey’s healing can hold up to them together, they know it’s going to be a long, difficult road. Mackey proves he can handle the stress of performing on his own, but when it comes to the demons that broke him in the first place, that’s a whole other song.

When news arrives that affects the entire band, Mackey can either go home and face his demons, or let them haunt him forever.

Review: *Note. This review is of part 5 of the serial*
In the last installment of this series, Trav and Mackey finally established themselves as a couple, loud and in living color. Mackey has a long road ahead of him before he or anyone else can declare his road to recovery a success though. He is emotionally shattered and a recovering addict and as much as he would like to think that Trav’s love is enough to get him through anything, he is at least realistic. As unintentional as it is, his reality sometimes hurts the man he loves.

Trav knows that Mackey is far from whole, but there is something about the battered and broken young man who is so beautiful to him, that he can’t help but love him. When Trav has to leave Mackey to go overseas for a few days to check on the upcoming tour, he worries how his lover will cope without him there to hold him together. As hard as it is to hear, Mackey is honest with him when he feels the urge to use, and strong enough for now to resist it.

Mackey is determined to be strong and stay clean. For himself, his band, his family and most importantly for Trav. While Mackey still struggles with his addiction and the pull to use, he manages to stay clean, for now. Some harsh news from home threatens his newfound sobriety, and just might push Mackey over the edge.

Each installment of this serial only ups the ante. The writing is intense, emotional and captivating, pulling me further in with every dark twist of Mackey’s story. My fear now is that his relationship with Trav has become so intense that it could implode around them, and take out everyone they love in the after math. Then on the other hand, I don’t see how either of them couldn’t be right for each other, because I don’t think they could be right for anyone else. Mackey doesn’t do anything half way, and loving Trav is no exception. There love is equal parts frantic, insane and endearing.

I’m seriously sitting here biting my nails right now in anticipation of part 6. I have a few days to brace myself because I have a feeling the shit is about to hit the fan, but I’m holding out the hope that Mackey and Trav make it through this field of land minds together.

Misaki “Aki” Itou is a psi—a person with mutated DNA granting him psychic abilities. He’s also a contracted companion—a whore. It may not be the perfect profession, but having a roof over his head, food to eat, and not being subjected to torture is a dream come true. He is the top companion at the Hidden Gem, and it makes him enough money to buy the prettiest, most sparkly shoes he can find.

Shane McNaughton is an Irishman who survived the Third World War and works as a cop. Head of Missing Persons, he’s good at finding people, but after the plague of the Third mutated his DNA, he has a hard time letting anyone see the monster inside. He’s been paying for Aki’s services for two years, both the psi and the sexual kind, but he wants more from the companion.

Shane needs Aki’s ability to see into another person’s past to track down a serial killer murdering the children of rich and powerful men, but the more they work together, the clearer it becomes that they are linked through a darker past than either of them realizes.

Two enemies, three warring races, and a singular love with the power to change the future.

It is the twilight of mankind. Depleted by generations of war with a dark race, the human kingdoms and their ancient alliance stand on the brink of extinction. The outlands are soaked with the blood of the fallen. The midlands are rotting with decadence and despair.

Elfkind, estranged by past crimes, watches and waits for nature to run its course.

And then the two collide.

Ayden’s life has long been guided by two emotions: love for his sister, and hatred of all things human. When he’s captured in battle, he must for his sister’s sake swallow his pride and endure slavery in the service of a human prince, Freyrik Farr.

Freyrik’s always known elves to be beautiful and dangerous, but never has one affected him as deeply as Ayden. Can his life of service to his people leave room for this attraction? Dancing on a dagger’s edge between duty and high treason, Freyrik discovers that some choices can change a life, and some an entire world.

Between prejudice, politics, pride, and survival, Ayden and Freyrik must carve a new path, no matter how daunting. For nothing less than the fate of both their peoples rests on the power of their perseverance—and their love.

Don’t look back. Don’t you ever look back…

Shy tattoo artist Ash has a troubled past. Years of neglect, drug abuse, and life on the streets have taken their toll, and sometimes it seems the deep, unspoken bond with his lover is the only balm for wounds he doesn’t quite understand.

Chicago paramedic Pete is warmth, love, and strength—things Ash never knew he could have, and never even knew he wanted until Pete showed him. But fate is a cruel, cruel mistress, and when nightmares collide with the present, their tentatively built world comes crashing down.

Traumatic events in Pete’s work life distance him from home, and he doesn’t realize until it’s too late that Ash has slipped away. Betrayal, secrets, and lies unfold, and when a devastating coincidence takes hold, Pete must fight with all he has to save the love of his life.

Synopsis

Deputy United States Marshal Mitch Knox apprehends fugitives for a living. His calm, cool, collected attitude and devastatingly handsome good looks earn him a well-deserved bad boy reputation, both in the field and out. While away on an assignment, he blows off some steam at a notorious Dallas nightclub. Solving the case that has plagued him for months takes a sudden backseat to finding out all there is to know about the gorgeous, shy blond sitting alone at the bar.

Texas State Trooper Cody Turner is moving up the ranks, well on his way to his dream of being a Texas Ranger. While on a two-week mandatory vacation, he plans to relax and help out on his family’s farm. Mitch is the last distraction Cody needs, but the tatted up temptation that walks into the bar and steals his baseball cap is too hard to ignore.

As Mitch’s case gains nationwide attention, how will he convince the sexy state trooper that giving him a chance won’t jeopardize his life’s plan…especially when the evil he’s tracking brings the hate directly to his doorstep, threatening more than just their careers.
