Blurb: Besides the sensational title, this is a well-written, compelling book with a hard edge. You see, Dee Dee is the woman who lived inside the young boy Denny. Sound confusing? Imagine what young Denny went through? This powerful narrative follows the change in body, mind and life of a transsexual girl.

After a turn to prostitution to finance her sex change surgery Dee Dee makes the best of it and expands her new sex worker life to include owning and operating an escort service. After her surgery, this narrative follows her as she indulges in some of the sexual behavior she had only dreamed about pre-surgery.

OK, this book does have a collection of Dee Dee’s excesses, but it also contains the story of how she overcame some huge obstacles. Courage is courage, be it in sex change surgery or from the view behind the bars of a locked jail cell. Most people would have given up or sought an easier way, but not Dee Dee.

This book is her legacy. Her hope is that it will endure and bring some clarity to readers about the trials of the transgendered. We know Dee Dee endured long enough to finish her journey and see her life’s dream come true, a claim few can make. In a way this book is a success story, it’s about a win, it’s about hope triumphing.

Review: Most of us take what life hands us as right and true, and we don’t question the very basic things that are part of our makeup, but not Dee Dee Jackson. Dee Dee was born Denny, but from her youth she knew she wasn’t supposed to be Denny. This book is the self-penned story of how Dee Dee came to be.

From the beginning, we are given a very transparent window into her life starting with childhood, leading up to and beyond her surgery. Dee Dee talks about traumatic experiences, sexual experiences , family, as well all the things she had to do to get through this life she was living.

Dee Dee is a pioneer of sorts – having a sex change operation at a time when the surgery was new and unfamiliar. It takes great courage to open yourself to the public. I have such respect for this author being able to do something that most of us could never attempt. The things shared here are deep, personal, and by no means easy to divulge or read.

That being said, I wanted more. I wanted a view into her heart as well as her mind. I didn’t just want to KNOW what happened in her life, I wanted to FEEL her emotions and connect with Dee Dee herself.

This is a direct, honest narrative, with a no holds barred approach to storytelling. Dee Dee is not afraid to tell it like it is and it shines through in her writing. My attention was captivated from word one; I read this from beginning to end without pause. I did enjoy this, and it is my hope that perhaps one day Dee Dee will gift us with a deeper look into her story.

Review: This book is part of a series and should be read in order.

Marrok is a powerful wizard who has come to the clan to help protect them from magical attacks. Also there is his mate Marcus a thousands year old griffin. They never completed their mating because of issues Marcus has. On a trip to town, Marrol meets his second mate, Thorn a jaguar shifter.

Thorn is in town helping to raise the children of his deceased sister. It is up to Thorn to bridge the divide between Marrok and Marcus so that all three can complete their mating. However, there are several issues they all have to deal with from the outside. Someone is using magic to attack the clan and Thorn has hunters to catch before they kill more shifters.

Marcus has built a wall around himself to keep others out and protect himself. Not even for his mate Marrok would he bring it down. It’s not until Thorn comes into the picture that he is forced to step up or watch as his mates find happiness without him.

When the three of them finally get their acts together, they start burning up the pages. The sex is very descriptive and doesn’t leave anything to the imagination. There is a reason Marcus is the way he is, and it’s a bit sad. It takes both Marrok and Thorn to help him overcome his resistance. Not to say there are not points when I wanted to smack him upside his head.

Marrok, Marcus, and Thorn are my favorite threesome so far in this series. I loved their relationship. All three men are very strong on their own, but together they make each other stronger. I also the secondary characters. Some are just so interesting and funny you can’t help loving them and wanting to learn more about them. At the rate the clan is growing I am hopeful there will be many more in this series.

A well-written and fast-paced book that draws you in and leaves you wanting more. I personally cannot wait for the next release in the series.

REVIEWER: Prime

REVIEW: I have to admit, just the cover and the blurb had me intrigued. Starting the story, we dive right into the action, where Liam is desperately trying save his hide by finding a mysterious prism after borrowing money.

The tone of book was immediately dark and I found myself concerned whether or not I would find sympathy for Liam. One thing is for certain, Liam has himself in a right proper mess. Although I wasn’t entirely impressed with Liam, but this has nothing to do with how he was written, it was the character himself. He was entirely too selfish, but that was the reason why he got into the situation he found himself in and I enjoyed watching him grow up as his mistakes just keep coming back to bite him. He becomes desperate to make amends. It is in his romance with Jim that we see the majority of Liam’s development.

On the other side of the story is Jim. We are introduced to him quickly. He has complicated family life, so it seems. He seems to be keeper to his fifteen-year-old twin sisters, who seem intent on getting Jim in trouble when it comes to their mysterious, evil mother. He also has the mysterious prism, which Liam is hunting for. Jim develops as a character as Jim learns that he can indeed trust Liam, despite the trouble that Liam has brought into their lives by going after the prism. Really, Jim is extremely generous when it comes to Liam.

Since the story began in the middle of action, the momentum took a little while to build sufficiently (at least in my mind), but that was because there was numerous pieces of information which we needed to know before going too far into the story. I can’t help but be impressed by all the threads that the authors use which links Liam and Jim. This includes numerous minor characters, including Jim’s family.

In between all that, there is the mysterious, mystical prism. Ultimately, the authors have managed to weave a pleasing tapestry, with an action packed ending all the loose ends tied up for a quick happily ever after.

However, some things had me thinking. I find myself wondering why Matthew was given such a prominent role in the blurb when he is barely in the book. It is important to point out his character’s appearance does play a pivotal role to Liam’s decisions that sets him on his path that leads to Liam. Another point, the prism that is key to the entire story, I liked how it remained mysterious by only vague allusions and limited displays of its power, which is the complete opposite for me normally because I’m usually big on wanting details.

To be honest, the story didn’t capture my imagination at the beginning and certainly didn’t get me emotionally. I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t particularly like it either and for that reason, I had trouble figuring out my rating, which in my mind lies somewhere between 2.5 and 3 (I wonder if anyone would appreciate a 2.75 middle ground rating?).

Perhaps the reason for this there is too much intrigue, it pisses me off and I’m liable to yell at the page. I realise that this will be a tough read for those who don’t like too much and complex intrigue. This is a proper mystery, a well-written story bound with a number of elements.

Regardless of my feelings, it had me intrigued until the end.

Blurb: Bollocks as a word is a little naughty. It’s a little cheeky. It’s a little rude. And it’s the tongue-in-cheek theme for this collection of short stories celebrating all things English.

You’ll discover a bonk is not a typo for somewhere to keep your money.

A shag isn’t something thick and plush under your feet to keep them warm, though it is guaranteed to heat you up!
And as for a snog, the boys of Bollocks! I can assure you, it’s worth finding out what that Brit term means. The stories will make you laugh. They’ll make you snort. They’ll make you blush. Sigh—they’ll probably make you shake your head.

They may even make you want to catch the next flight to England to find something a little British of your own! It’s not just cricket, or jolly hockey sticks, it’s more… it’s the very British, Bollocks!

Reviewer: Pammie

Review: This anthology has a good mix of stories covering a variety of subjects, and genres. The stories range from warm and snuggly to hot and sexy. All feature bollocks in some way, shape, or form. As with any anthology, some stories are stronger than others are, but overall a good read.

Healing by Tabitha McGowan – ♥♥♥3 Hearts
Werewolf meets human healer, and snuggling ensues… but not till the danger that’s threatening them both has been dealt with…
This is a shifter tale with a very relevant message about society targeting those who are different and don’t fit in with rigid ideas of ‘normal’. I really liked Immanuil and Tolly, and would read more of this pairing.
Sheep’s Clothing Elin Gregory – ♥♥♥♥4 Hearts
Meet Darren Murchison: self-employed plumber and reluctant werewolf…
Another shifter tale and I loved it. Darren and Gethin made a great pair, and I loved the way their relationship developed. The authors have their own twist around shifting which I like. Plus the boys are very hot.
No Worries Mate E S Skipper – ♥♥♥♥4 Hearts
“Who needs a partner when I have this?” Rangi said, opening his arms out as if to encompass the entire island and surrounding ocean. Who indeed…
A contemporary love story, beautiful and sweet, with two great characters who make a really hot couple. This story has the added bonus of being set in my own home country of New Zealand. Loved it.
It Could Be You Anyta Sunday – ♥♥♥3 Hearts
Ted has just won 15 million quid. Or at least, he would have won 15 million quid if he could find his bloody lotto ticket…
Another contemporary tale. Ted is hunting for his lost lottery ticket, while simultaneously trying to avoid hearing what his straight friend, roommate, and unrequited love Jenson wants to tell him. As they retrace their steps, Ted explains the reasons for the numbers, most of which have a direct connection to Jenson. A short, sweet story.
Just Like Pulling Teeth L J Harris – ♥♥♥♥4 Hearts
A trip to the dentist has never been so… interesting…
I could so sympathize with Aiden in regards the dentist, but unlike him, I don’t have a deliciously sexy guy looking after my teeth. I loved the ‘meddling’ sister who sets Aiden up with the dentist with a view to looking after both his wisdom teeth and his love life. A great little story and very sexy guys.
DIY Delights Taylin Clavelli – ♥♥♥3 Hearts
While renovating his first house with his partner, Mike, Duncan discovers a plethora of reasons to use his favorite word… Bollocks!
This one really didn’t hit my buttons. But if you have a fetish for the word bollocks in all its many uses, and the anatomy itself, you may like this quirky little story.
In The Blue Moonlight H Lewis-Foster – ♥♥♥♥3.5 Hearts
A bottom bared to a local bobby means a night out Simon will never forget.
The couple in this contemporary tale have a rather unique first meeting. A sweet, romantic story where an unusual act of spontaneity has a wonderful outcome for our couple.
Written in the Stars Lily Veldin – ♥♥♥♥4 Hearts
Who needs a holiday when your destiny is Written in the Stars?
I loved this story. A great mix of toe-curling embarrassment, humor, and a great honesty is the best policy ending for the guys.

Review: Sean is a young art student almost done with college when he tells his father he is gay. He is thrown out of his house and has little money to survive on. Finally forced to make a hard choice one night Sean and his friend Leroy are walking when a man who is known in the area as dangerous kills Leroy in front of Sean. Sean running away from the man stops the car that carries Armand. Armand is a 150-year-old werewolf and the head Alpha of North America. He immediately recognizes Sean as his destined mate.

Due to the mate bond between Sean and Armand, they start to fall in love right away. Armand makes Sean feel safe for the first time in his life. While their relationship is growing, there is also the worry about the man who killed Sean’s friend. He is also a werewolf that was already kicked out of his pack in Russia because of rape charges, and Sean is just his type. Now Armand has to do all in his power to keep his mate safe, especially when it is learned he is an Omega with a powerful gift. Something any Alpha would want.

I wanted to love this book absolutely. The concept and the back-story about werewolves are awesome. I loved the MCs and the secondary characters. There are great moments in the story that I liked. However, several editing errors kept drawing me out of the story. There were things like extra words or missing words altogether, and a few other things that I noticed. Some of the dialogue in the love scenes was a bit overdone in my opinion as well. There seemed to be something missing. Maybe as if, parts were rushed in a way. I just can’t put my finger on it.

But wait… there are several redeeming qualities to the story outside of the editing issues and seeming a bit rushed. The whole world that the author has created is very interesting and I do want to read more about it. Several scenes are funny as hell. Like when Sean takes the super rich Armand to Costco and a few other stores for shopping. That had me cracking up. They are definitely from two different worlds but the two MCs balance each other out. Sean is the peacemaker while Armand can be quick to anger. Sean may be submissive to a degree but he has no problem stepping in to calm Armand down and make his point.

So yes, this book is not perfect, but it is still worth a read. I look forward to more in the series.

Review: Each book in Bear County collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. The book that we have waited for has finally arrived.

I had wanted to hear T-Rex’s story since I first heard about him in the previous books. I am amazed by the way these two men just seem to be perfect for each other, in my opinion. I loved the way they mix, not to mention the hot sex. Each one of Lynn’s stories is a blast to read, because you can tell that she puts her entire heart into each story. Although most stories that come out fast is usually missing something, her stories always give me exactly what I need and want.

Isaac brought tears to my eyes. The way he was raised and his fears just made me want to go on the warpath. The first time he saw T-Rex he was struck, but his family would never allow him to have a man for a boyfriend. His family was so strict I was surprised that they even let this man out of the house. It is not that they did not love him but they were very homophobic. However, in reality his family is one screwed up bunch. You can tell that the love is quite twisted in fact. I for one would have loved to put a bullet in his father’s head.

T-Rex was raised with a loving family and at one time had been a soldier. When he moved in with the guys at the ranch, he was surrounded by bear shifters. So when he met Isaac it hadn’t taken long before he knew he had found his mate. In this story there is so much tragedy that you can’t help but be amazed at how strong these men are. I felt so bad for Isaac that my heart just hurt and brought me to tears.

It comes off as so very real that it is like you are there with them through it all. When one door closes, one door opens is what was said in this book and it is so very true. I don’t really know how to tell you just how much this book meant to me. It was probably one of the best stories I have found in all of the series for me. Though I was in tears throughout the book, I also found myself laughing so hard at parts of it.

This story caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. It was a fascinating book and I cannot wait to read the next book. It gave me everything I could want in it. Not only did it give me two very sexy men, it also gave me excitement, surprises, bear shifters, powerful and supportive friends, protective mates, passionate sex, and quirky attitudes. It gave me all of that and so much more. I would recommend reading this if you love all of those and so much more.

Did I mention the hot sex that you get from them?

It has a touch of humor mixed in with serious tones that are always the best for me. I can’t stand a story that doesn’t make me laugh. All of the books that Lynn has written give me the perfect combination of seriousness, humor, protective feelings, anger, pain, and quirkiness.

REVIEW: If you like, your love story with some sports, this is great. Jin-Pyoo is a Korean alpine skier who has just bombed at the Sochi games and now is under pressure from his father and Korean sponsors so he will be in medal contention at the upcoming Korean Olympic Games. He’s 29, which means that the next Olympics would be his last chance to win gold. His boyfriend of two years is Tolliver, who owns the ski resort in the US where Jin trains.

Tolliver has been extremely patient with Jin. Because of his father’s old-fashioned beliefs, their relationship has been completely hidden. Worse yet, Jin’s father has arranged a marriage and Tolliver has told Jin he isn’t taking any more of their closeted relationship.

From the beginning, I found myself feeling sorry for Jin with the situation he was face with. However, I also feel sorry for Tolliver, having to be the hidden lover despite the fact that Jin feels that Tolliver is his happily ever after. I also immediately completely adored Tolliver from the outset.

This is packed with emotion, especially when Jin faces the possibility that Tolliver could die after they have an argument. A great, quick read with a very sweet and adorable couple.

Review: This is a fairly straightforward story, as seen in the blurb. That is, of course, if you can get past the discussion of cousins sleeping with cousins, hereditary disorders, low sperm counts (though some viable) and men being more likely to be gay in the family. Tom and Jackson, are actually also second cousins, hence my comment in the previous sentence, but they are also lovers.

Dave is a quiet guy with some fantasies – particularly when he finds out that Tom and Jackson are not only a couple but also second cousins. It’s always the quiet ones you have to look out for.

Interestingly, Tom and Jackson may be lovers but they don’t live together and they are by no means exclusive. They each want a Mr Right of their very own and this has held them back from doing anything beyond casual sex. I also find it amusing that even though Tom and Jackson have some sort of witch-like magic in their blood, they also hate Halloween.

Tom and Jackson’s grandmothers are sisters who live together. These two quirky women are hilarious, despite the fact that they only pop up right at the end, these women we get to know through their grandsons. It is their grandmothers who encourage Tom and Jackson to be together.

When the three of them get together, it is both hot and sweet. Tom and Jackson are also two very willing knights in shining armour for Dave. This is an enjoyable read for anyone who likes their Halloween to include a little kink.

Review: Cody feels hurt and betrayed after Tony tells him that Tony and Jake were together for three years. Cody leaves and drives for a while until he’s too tired and checks into a motel. He wakes up as someone handcuffs him.
Very well written book. Cody should’ve talked to Jake but then again Jake should’ve told Cody the truth as trust is very important in the BDSM lifestyle.

Very kinky scene to get Cody to listen to what Jake had to say.

Great read.

Review: This is the second part of the trilogy and trust me you need to start with book one.

It is a very strange story but a good one all the same. It is very hard to understand unless you read the first book because trust me you will get lost in it. It captured my attention when I opened the book and kept it all the way to the end. To understand why Toby does everything just to get his other back is amazing. I absolutely loved these two men.

Toby lost his lover to the King Jester but he planned to get his man back. There is a lot of danger coming at them, but with the first fight, he had lost part of his arm and his man so he would do everything in his power to get him back. That is where the King made his mistake. He is a powerful King, but when he took Toby’s mate Marley, he failed to understand that love conquers all.

I loved the way Toby will go to all lengths to get the man he loves back. It shows how much strength this man has. Even willing to go without his families help was what he would have done. There is so much danger for them that it makes me wonder how they will survive it all.

I would definitely recommend reading this book. It will give you sexy men, loving friends, a fight to the end, lots of danger, a crazy ass King, a twisted coyote and a love that no understands. It was told with such a serious tone that will have your stomach twisted in knots wondering if they would survive. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole story.

Review: This is the first book to this series and should be read in order.

I loved this story more than I can say. You can usually tell when someone puts their hearts into their stories and this was one of them. I can’t tell you how much pain I felt coming from both of these men and the confusion they had when they realized that they were falling for each other. Both men were straight, never thinking about being with a man and now they are coming to terms that they are in fact attracted to each other.

Evan had been in love with his wife. She had been his first in every way and she had given him four beautiful children. Then she was killed in a car accident over a year ago. He was not surviving to well without her. His heart was breaking every day since her death. On a night with friends, he had met Matt. They had become best friends, sharing everything about their lives. Then during a blizzard, Matt had stayed over and their friendship took a turn.

Everything was going good, if not a bit scary then Evan had been shot. His in-laws were causing problems. They wanted the children and blamed him for their daughter’s death. Things were getting to tense and he decides he can’t continue with Matt.

Matt had never been with a man before and in fact had never had a true relationship. He was scared that maybe he couldn’t love someone like he was supposed to. He hadn’t meant to make a move on Evan and then it just started happening. Then after Evan got shot, Matt got booted to the door. He didn’t know how long he could take with his heart being ripped out. It was up to them both to decide what they truly wanted.

This was the perfect story to me. It is as if you are right there with them going through it all. The pain Evan felt loosing his wife, then the happiness he got with Matt, then the despair of loosing it all is powerful, and you just want to help him through it all. Whereas Matt falls in love with a man, is confused through it all and then to have his heart handed to him on a platter because Evan gets scared tore me up. To give someone your heart is a dangerous but wonderful thing.

I would recommend reading this story if you love two gorgeous men, their first sexual experience, angst, pain, anger, fear and true love. It gave me all of that and so much more. I loved it and cannot wait to get my hands on the next book. Tere has an amazing gift at giving you a story so real that it makes you seem like you are going through every bit right there with them. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. It has every feeling imaginable in this and so much more.

Review: Straight to the Heart is book 3 in the Exception to the Rule series. This is a standalone story, however, the couple from book 2 (Josie and Mark) feature prominently as the roommates of Kyle and Dave. The couple from book 1 (Chris and Kevin) are also included briefly since Chris is Mark’s older brother. But if you have read the first two books, we get a more pleasing insight into Josie and Mark, as well as a quick peek into Chris and Kevin’s lives.

This is a thoroughly enjoyable read. The best way to summarize it is simply that this is a sweet look at a fledging relationship between two guys in college. Dave Masterson struggles with his sexuality and reconciling it with his hopes of a career in professional football. Kyle, a theatre art major, on the other hand, is a realist but is also out and proud, he knows Dave because of their respective roommates.

He runs into Dave more when he tries to win a scholarship so he can complete his degree by being the athletics scholarship. To be quite honest there were a number of times I just wanted to hug Kyle. I liked the argument between Dave and Kyle at the climax of the story. I found it to appear realistic in the sense that neither of them appeared to be having a hissy fit over nothing.

There is also a whole host of interesting minor characters. There are one or two closeted guys and a number in established relationships, on top of the usual assortment of people. I have to admit that Lacey really came into her own at the end in the end, even if she was only in it few times. She is a memorable minor character. And if you haven’t read books one and two yet, I guarantee you that this will make you want to go back (because that’s exactly what I want to do!).

A recent convert to Kimberly Gardner’s books, I love her writing style. The story is very easy to read and follow. She does sweet and cute perfectly and has a knack for wonderfully adorable characters – even the jocks – although she can also add a bit of drama and darker shades. However, Straight to the Heart is fairly much as the title says, as well as being sweet read and a wonderful story about coming out in college.

Review: Once upon a time, he was madly in love. He had dreams and a life filled to the brim with joy. He shared his favorite Halloween with his lover in their own special way, as it was their own special holyday. Once upon a time, he was a whole man.

Now Paul is merely going by each day trying to go by each day without his beloved. Now he simply exists without any plans for a future that was taken away from him rather brutally. Now his special holiday is his bane… Tristan is dead and never coming back no matter how much he wishes it. No one can change reality after all…

First thing I noticed about this book is the storytelling. How smooth the language flows and how easily I got the feeling that I just inserted Paul’s mind (our MC). However, though the writing style was smooth, I didn’t feel the pain or the grand emotions I thought I ought to feel. How weird is that? I ought to feel the shock and pain and distrust emanating from Paul, right? Wrong! I completely missed them and that was a bit disappointed, but trust me when I say that the final line in the first chapter had me popping up goose-bumps all over and have my jaw hanging open for a couple of minutes, because that was the moment when shock hit me big time. Sadly, it didn’t last long.

Tristan’s PoV – the other MC aka the ghost – the very next chapter came and with it brought so much more on the plate. Enter the paranormal world where not only ghosts but also demons and angels, Heaven and Hell exist too. Basically, this is a deal-with-the-devil-gone-wrong story set in the Halloween period. I’m still confused about the deal with Halloween here but I won’t delve much on that.

There is one big problem with this story for me; you have this guy whose lover died and suddenly said lover is standing right in front of him telling him that he’s real and that they should start celebrating Halloween… And here I am thinking, “F#@$ Halloween mate, the dead lover is freaking back. HELLO!!!! Either go on a mental crisis already or screw his brains out, what celebration and what Holiday?”

And while I’m not much of a drama reader (I detest it truth be told) I kept thinking that Paul ought to have had a complete meltdown crying and screaming and grabbing at his dead lover with such fierceness that he might have endangered his well being, if of course you could do that to a ghost. Is my way of thinking wrong..? Don’t answer that!

Anyhow, there is some little drama but it’s always meshed up with the “you have to believe and like Halloween again” thingy, confusing the hell out of me for the biggest part of the read.

But beside the plot that was somewhat disappointing, because I totally expected the demon to show up and make a Hellish scene and that didn’t happen, this is not your ordinary Halloween story. Yes, it’s set on the holiday, but it felt as if the setting was just a prop, as if it was there just for the sake of making this plot a bit more credible. And as love-stories go by, I’ve certainly read better ones. Not that this wasn’t sweet and hot, or passionate even, but I just felt the lack of that once in a lifetime/forever ever after love that this was meant to be.

Bottom end if you expect a high-tension Halloween dramatic love-story my personal opinion is that this will disappoint you. But if you don’t mind a bit of a slower in intensity, and sweeter in general terms love-story with the “even Death shan’t take us apart” theme, then go ahead, and knock yourself out, this is definitely the story for you.
