Blurb: Faery royalty have always married for duty rather than love. Prince Chrysanths should be no different—except with a human for a father, the prince known as Puck already is different. When he is betrothed against his will to Prince Sky, Puck flees to his father in the human world, only to have Sky follow.

Prince Sky Song of the Clouds isn’t thrilled with the prospect of marriage either, but is bound by duty to follow through. If he can’t win Puck over, the faery realm might very well dissolve into utter chaos. Too busy arguing, Puck and Sky are unaware there are others with a vested interest in seeing the betrothal fail.

In a bid for Puck’s crown, they’ll seek to keep them apart, even as Puck and Sky realize that duty and love don’t always have to be mutually exclusive.

Review: Betrothed: A Faery Tale is exactly what the title says and it was also a totally enjoyable book. Being that it was also the first book I’ve read by Therese Woodson, I don’t think I’d be opposed to reading more of her works. I loved the emotions of the MCs (very relatable) and in general I just loved the sweet romance that was told.

The story is about Prince Chrysanths, aka “Puck” (yes, like Shakespeare) of the Asteraceae and heir apparent to the Earthern/Wood faery throne. He also happens to be half human. And any keen biologist may also realise, there’s lots of flower scientific classification involved too (Asteraceae is the class which includes flowers like Chrysanthemums).

Seriously, it gave this biologist here a thrill. He is sweet but he also has the tendency to be a bit spoilt, he is a child of two worlds (he visits his dad on the earth plane) but he hasn’t quite found his place in life yet.

Enter Prince Sky Song of the Clouds – and you guessed it, he’s of the type of faery associated with the element air. He’s a strong, silent and stoic sort of guy and knows that he must do his duty – to his family and his people.

There’s plenty of back story in the book itself which should satisfy any reader, but suffice to say that these two princes as part of a treaty must marry (hence the title). What starts as a selfish turn by Puck ends up to be an adventure that both princes needed and (most importantly) use the time to get to know each other before they tie the knot.

I really loved this book. It’s more than just a fantasy involving faeries. It’s also about fitting in and essentially gaining the maturity to grow up. The guys are easy to relate to, I especially like Sky’s character and their emotions are strong. The chemistry between the couple is also smoking, with the sexual tension maintained throughout the story.

This is the type of feel good novel that any reader of the paranormal/fantasy genre is sure to enjoy.

This book is a sequel to Two Man Advantage

Life has been treating Victor Kalinski well, which is a surprise for the ginger-haired forward with the venomous tongue. His career is somewhat stable, at least for another season. His relationship with Cougars alternate captain Dan Arou is deepening, despite the fact that Daniel has yet to come out of the closet.

It’s typical Kalinski luck when a puck bunny he shared a drunken night with several months ago slaps him with a paternity suit. Despite the sizzling passion and painfully heartfelt connection between them, Dan doesn’t take the news well, and heads back to Canada alone.

If he wants to make things right and win back the man he loves, he has no choice but to swallow his pride—and nobody’s prouder than hot-headed, ego-driven Victor.

Reader Advisory: This story has graphic sexual language and scenes—no closed bedroom doors (or other rooms) here!

An adult male/male romance from Ellora’s Cave

Review: This is a bit of a funny and quirky story by AJ Llewellyn and DJ Manly.

After being caught with his pants down (with the boss’s son, no less), celebrated New Orleans homicide detective Montana Delray is punished by being sent down to the precinct (the 77th) where all the crazies work (I’m sure there’s a nicer way I could say that but that’s the thing). Down at the 77th precinct Montana meets some rather interesting characters, including Joe Hunter – aka Crazy Joe – who is a psychic.

This was a fun story with rather bizarre circumstances revolving around the crime in the main plot. But really, it made the story funnier. Montana is an ordinary sort of guy thrown into extraordinary circumstances. After being a strait-laced sort of guy he’s been thrown in the land of the crazies.

There is definitely some sexual sparks between Montana and Joe but the romantic side of the story is rushed compared to the “policing” part of the story. That was a bit disappointing, I’d like more relationship about how these two oddballs fit together.

This is a quirky and totally funny quick(ish) read. Those not familiar with the authors’ their writing style or story structure will probably be a little disappointed by the distinct lack of a definite HEA ending, and as I said earlier the romance was rushed.

However, fans of AJ Llewellyn and DJ Manly will certainly enjoy the story and will expect the rushed nature of the story.

Review: Short, Sexy and Steamy… my three favorite colors!!! It’s been a while since I’ve said that about a novella. And it’s been a while since we last got to visit with David and catch up on his dating shenanigans. David is still holding to the plan, 52 first dates, and one for every week for a year.

There have been some steamy hookups, some bad blind dates, and a set of twins that were promising for a while there. Now we have Mr. Toronto, who is travelling all the way to London for a date with David.

David finds himself another couple to play with in this latest episode, not twins this time… a couple that like to keep their options open. He still has to play babysitter to his best friend, and let me tell you, that poor girl cannot hold her alcohol!

Then there is the impending visit with the sexy man from Toronto that David has been sexting with. Is the sultry Canadian Mr. Right? Or just Mr. Right now? And what happens to the pact David made with himself if they hit it off? Only time will tell!

Review: Everyone has eyes for the new nurse. Especially Dr Baby, but he knows to keep work and personal life separate until one encounter in the closet I enjoyed the extras in the end showing us how the two lovers met.

Characters that stole my heart: I loved both Justin and Dr. Baby (isn’t his name the cutest?) The story is focused on these two though we do get a glimpse of one of Dr Baby’s friends who gets his own story in Secrets.

Memorable event-: The closet scene is to die for. I mean just WOW!
I really enjoyed this story. It is short and sweet. There is a touch of mystery at the beginning and the love scene is so sexy. This is definitely one to curl up with if you’re looking for a fun story to de-stress with.

If you like sweet romance, Drs. Nurses and closets…this is for you!

Lisa & Thomas J. Oliver

Carlin is an Alpha Wolf Fighter, one of only three in the top spots at the Souterrain – an underground fighting club, run by the Elite to punish shifters who have gone outside of the laws. He’s happy enough, only has to fight exhibition matches, has his own apartment space, food and sex on tap – yep, life it good. So when Martin offers him the chance to fight for his freedom, Carlin turns it down. It’s no fun being a lone wolf and Carlin is quite happy where he is.

Then Lucas catches his eye. A handsome man, a stunning fighter, moving up through the ranks fast.  Lucas might not have the killer attitude that most men at the Souterrain have, but he’s got the moves.  Carlin has no problems insisting the man is bought to his apartment – sex is never a bad idea.  But when he catches Lucas’s scent and realizes the man is his fated mate, suddenly getting him to bed is the least of his problems.  Lucas wants to be free, and for the first time in a long time, so does Carlin.

Unfortunately there is more to Lucas than meets the eye.  Martin certainly has no intention of letting them go, and if he has to have Carlin killed to keep Lucas at the Souterrain, then the man has no problems with that either. Suddenly the deal Carlin makes with Martin goes horribly wrong, and Carlin and Lucas realize that the price for freedom might be Carlin’s life, and even then Lucas will not be free.

Warnings: M/M sex, HEA, some violence (they are in a fight club after all).  A growly Alpha who lets his emotions get the best of him, and a hybrid shifter with a wicked imagination.

Blurb: It’s taken Tommy Newsome a while to get his head around being gay.

Growing up in a small town in Georgia, hasn’t prepared him for the more liberal life of a student at the university in Athens. Add to that the teachings of his parents and his church, and you have one shy young man who feels out of his depth. Working on his daddy’s farm hasn’t given him any chance of a social life, certainly not one like the clubs of Atlanta have on offer. Not that Tommy feels comfortable when he gets to sample it—Momma’s lectures still ring loudly inside his head.

All that changes when he goes to his first gay bar and sets eyes on Mike Scott.

When Mike’s not behind the bar at Woof’s, he’s busy with his life as adult entertainer Scott Masters. Twenty years in the industry and the times, they are a-changing. Mike’s not had much luck in the relationship department, but as his mom is fond of telling him, you keep fishing in the same pond, you’re gonna reel in the same kind of fish. Maybe it’s time for a change.

And then a beautiful young man asks Mike to be his first….

Review: Tommy Newsome is a good ole boy from a small Georgia town, off to college, living on his own for the first time. To say the bright lights of the big city are overwhelming for him would be an understatement. When his openly bi-sexual roommate drags Tommy to a gay bar, it’s more than Tommy can handle, too many people, too much noise etcetera, so Tommy finds a quieter place to mingle.

Tommy hasn’t given much thought to his sexuality, mostly because he’s gay and his parents are fanatically homophobic. But when he lays eyes on the much older, handsome bartender at Wolfs bar, Tommy can’t deny who he is anymore.

Mike Scott moonlights at Wolf’s bar as a bartender. His “day job” is a bit more “glamorous”. For the past twenty years, Mike has made quite a nice living as a gay porn star. But the industry is changing, and not in ways Mike is happy with or willing to lower his standards for. Then he meets a young man with piercing eyes, a shy smile and the most adorable blush Mike has ever seen.

Old habits die hard though and after having more than one relationship end when the man finds out about Mike’s choice of career, he keeps his secret, and it just might cost him the love of that beautifully, shy young man.

May/December romances are such fun stories. I really love reading a book where there are a substantial number of years between the lovers when the Author can convey their love in a way that is true and romantic. That is exactly what Wells did with First.

I have to preface this review by saying how shockingly accurate an Author from across the pond got life in small town, heart of the Bible belt, Georgia right. I was born and raised in Georgia so I know firsthand what a person like Tommy would have to live through, and it was much like what he dealt with in this book. Wells even got the Georgia twang right! I could literally hear Tommy talking in my head.

Tommy was confused, naive and for lack of a better word, virginal. It was very endearing for the character.

The best part of this story for me was watching as Mike gently taught him about sexuality and being in a relationship. Mike never used or abused the trust Tommy placed in him, aside from not telling him the truth about the porn, he completely respected Tommy and the gift Tommy gave him.

Both men faced very real struggles, different, but still real. Tommy is dealing with figuring out who he is and what he wants to do with his life while Mike is dealing with the pitfalls of the industry he chose to work in. While First is meant to be a coming of age story for Tommy, I think that Mike did a lot of growing up throughout as well.

A very romantic and endearing story, I couldn’t put it down, was up until midnight so I could finish.

Definitely a must read!

Review: I have read many books by this amazing author and this book definitely didn’t disappoint. The way it was told drove me a bit nuts. Going from Caleb’s perspective to Trent’s, but it didn’t take away from the story at all. When you read a book you can usually tell if the author is just doing it for the money or is really into it.

When they right with their feelings put in, makes the book even better in my opinion. This is one of those books. There is so much seriousness to it but you can see the hint of humor also. To me that makes it so much better.

There was something about this book that caught my attention and kept it. I adored the guys even though I would have really wanted to smack them both. I understood why Trent acted the way he did but he comes off as very careless considering he was cop. It made them more loveable and very endearing.

Caleb had been sleeping with his boss. That is until his boss’s wife ran him over. Now he moved to Colorado to start over. He had not expected the cop that knocked on his door though. He wanted Trent but didn’t want to give it a chance. He was saddened by his experience and angered by his past choice. Then he finds out Trent’s secret. He has to decide if it is worth it.

Trent had been in love with Simon, but Simon was in a coma after an accident. He didn’t want to let go, but he also didn’t want to try again. He knew Simon would have wanted him to. He tried to escape the pain by all the warm bodies, but Caleb is the one that pulled at his heart. He needed to change and to have the courage to start again.

I had a blast with this story and look forward to reading the next one. I would definitely recommend reading it. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end.

Why would anyone think three was a crowd?

No. No. No. No. No.

Three is a triangle…

All the best things come in threes…

Musketeers, primary colors, three-ringed circuses, stooges, blind mice, little pigs. The list goes on.

Of course they say trouble comes in three too…

but we won’t go there… or will we?

**giggle** There’s three sheets to the wind.

And **sigh… drool** there’s three piece suits.

And trust us, it’s no coincidence that there are three ingredients in a BLT.

Want to get physical???

Well, there’s… three-legged races… (what were you thinking?)

It’s taken Tommy Newsome a while to get his head around being gay.

When Mike’s not behind the bar at Woofs, he’s busy with his life as adult entertainer Scott Masters.

Review(s):  B.A.D. Boys by Lily Velden: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 Hearts/ Moderate Heat Level
Brad has a thing about elevators. He’s also had a tough week.

An accidental encounter with Mr. Tall, Dark and Handsome Aiden, and sweet, shy, and innocent Danny, will turn his elevator ‘thing’ into something very B.A.D.

Wow what a start! This story was short but You know what they say…good things come in small packages! Lily really grabbed my attention form the first paragraph. Once the trio got in the elevator it was a bit predictable but it was so fun and sexy! There is also a sense of humor as well! I loved this story!

Me, Callum and Dingoman by Asta Idonea: ♥♥♥3 Hearts/ Low Heat Level
I’m every bit the Everyman.

Or at least I was until I started my current relationship.

You see, there are three of us in this couple: me, my boyfriend, and my boyfriend’s alter ego…

This one just didn’t hit me like the first. It is cute and fun. If you like super hero’s you will like it. There just wasn’t much to it for me though.
Knowing How He Feels About You by Eric Gober: ♥♥♥♥♥5 Hearts/ Moderate Heat Level
Three college cheerleaders are bound together by unrequited love, secrets, and lies.

That is until dangers on a road trip threaten their lives.

Who will survive?

Sean, Chad, and Kyle are squad mates. It did take me a bit to figure out they were cheerleaders not ball players. Though both Kyle and Sean are from money and Chad isn’t, they have been best friends through college. Chad has had a secret crush on Kyle ever since they met. Sean is just the opposite. he isn’t Chad’s type at all.

This one was longer and was like reading a novella. It was intriguing and interesting. I kept reading to see where the story was heading then a twist and man oh man I sure did not see that ending coming!

I have never read anything by Eric Gober, but I sure will be now!
.
Chimera by Alina Popescu: ♥♥♥♥♥5 Hearts/ Low Heat Level
Plagued by nightmares of a lost twin, David struggles to uncover the truth of his past.

His family insists he never had a brother, enlisting therapist after therapist to cure him.

David’s only happiness is his boyfriend Terry.

Is the dream-visiting twin real?

Or is he a symptom of a mental disorder?

And real or not, will David and Terry’s relationship survive his presence?

David and Terry have known each other forever and have been together since college. David has begun having very vivid, strange dreams and is convince he had a twin. His parents are convinced he is crazy.

This is a strange story that is dark yet has a sweet undertone of romance. I loved Terry’s conviction to David. The writing is vivid and I would love more of this story!

Life By Even Numbers by Kay Ellis: ♥♥♥♥4 Hearts/Low Heat Level
Flynn Jacobs is small, eccentric, and neurotic. He’s spent his whole life being ridiculed and bullied.

On a rare night out with work colleagues, Flynn finally meets Riley, a man he has admired from afar.

Riley isn’t looking for anything special. His boyfriend Mitch is out of town and Riley is bored. Shy Flynn is a challenge. He’s meant to be a one night stand but Riley finds he likes Flynn more than he should…

What will happen when Mitch returns from his business trip?

Flynn is a very small effeminate looking man. He gets bullied still as an adult. He is 25 and reluctantly went to his birthday party some of his coworkers set up for him at a local bar but he keeps waiting for someone to tease him. He meets Riley one of his secret crushes from the office and is surprised when Riley asks him out.

Riley has a boyfriend and they have an arrangement. Though sleeping with Flynn is ok kissing him and taking him to their bed is not. Plus Riley feels the need to protect Flynn and wants more with him.

Mitch figured out that Riley broke the rules and worries that Flynn will take Riley until he meets him in person.

This was a very good story. I liked all three characters. Having a few quirks of my own I can really relate to Flynn. I loved Mitch’s protectiveness as well. Great story.

I will be looking for more from Kay Ellis!

Love in 1975 by L.V. Lloyd: ♥♥♥ 3 Hearts/ Low Heat Level
Richard believed his friendship with Laura was based around their passion for writing.

He didn’t realize he was falling in love with her, until it was too late.

After all, how could he possibly be falling in love with Laura, when he still loved Bill?

This story is set in 1975. Warning a woman is involved. Richard meets Laura at a Party. They are both authors for the same publisher. He is immediate attracted to her though he feels a bit guilty since he is involved with Bill. Bill has not been coming around much lately and that gives him more and more time with Laura.

Bill realizes there is a problem and doesn’t want to lose Richard but doesn’t want to be with him and a woman.

I liked the story. It had a good plot and was fairly complete for a short story but for me it was just ok.

The Proposal by Eddy LeFey: ♥♥♥ 3 Hearts/Low Heat Level
Malcolm has a decision to make.

His two best friends, Jack and Thomas, have just given him a very interesting proposal to mull over.

His mind, his heart, and his Little Malcolm need to agree.

The decision could change his life forever…

Malcolm has been friends with Jack and Thomas for three years. Thomas and Jack like a third from time to time and that is how they met Malcolm who refused but became best friends with them. After yet another break up Thomas and Jack have a proposal for Malcolm.

The story was ok there just wasn’t much to it other than Malcolm musing how he met the men and what he should do. I would have loved to read this in novella form it really had a lot of promise.

Chance Encounters by Aimee Brissay: ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts/ Explicit Heat Level
Daniel and Michael go shopping for sex toys.

Michael believes their relationship is complete.

That is, until he lays his eyes on the gorgeous shop owner.

Perhaps things are better in threes…
Daniel and Michael are in a sex store. Daniel has issues and Michael is trying to help him past them. They are looking around and Daniel is curios and aroused by some of the toys. Michael hints he misses some as well. Enter the store manager Nick and shall I say t got very hot from there.

This story was good. It hinted at some stuff I would have loved to know more about such as what is wrong with Daniel and more about how they met and their relationship. I would definitely buy this book if it was a novella. I will be watching for Aimee Brissay!

Exploring Heaven by Rian Durant: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 Hearts/ Explicit Heat Level
Chrissie is a very smart Rottweiler who has never shifted until now, enjoying his life as a dog.

What happens when he and his owner, Simon, fall for the same guy?

What better way to end a book. This book came in fast and furious and goes out the same way! At first I had misgivings with this story since it appeared the dog was the one with the sexy thoughts. Once it became clear this was a shifter story I fell in love.

I will admit it is unlike most shifter books I have read before. So you get unique as well as extremely sexy with a touch of humor and romance as well.

This was one of my favorite books in this collection. I hope you enjoy it as well.

Review: I was completely blown away by this book! I absolutely loved it! And you know what? I haven’t even read the first two books – though you can be damn sure that I want to now!!! I think I’ve used up my exclamation marks quota, but to paraphrase singer/song writer Nick Cave: I use three exclamation marks because it’s awesome.

So that being said, I am sure that this series is meant to be read in order, but there is enough background on the couples from the two previous books that I was in no way confused about the characters or the past storylines that were referred to. Namely, one MC Rory was actually married around the time of book 1 (maybe, could be book 2) and this is the continuation of his story.

Just as the blurb suggests, Rory Donovan’s life is a hot mess. He has a great career as a photography teacher and you can tell that his passion is teaching his art. His personal life, however, is not so great. His marriage is falling apart and he has been seeing a psychiatrist since before his marriage about “performance” issues.

The poor guy just really needs to find himself and that is why from the start I love Rory, was sympathetic to his plight and I just wanted him to have a HEA just like his besties have.

On the other hand we have Bennett Foster, he’s a Coast guard officer and while he is generally out he doesn’t advertise the fact that he’s gay, especially at work. When he was a teen, he and his best friend, Jessica, fooled around which resulted in their now emo teenage daughter, Addison. He’s a great guy, supportive of Jessie and a great father. The fact that he’s a hot coast guard is just the icing on the cake.

As minor characters go, I have to give a special mention to Addison and Jessica. I love the relationship between Ben and his BFF, which never fell apart despite the fact they had a daughter. Jessie always knew and accepted that Ben was gay.

As for Addison, she’s that special character that kind of gives us those important life lessons you get throughout books. She’s a dark horse, that’s for sure, and beneath all that teenage emo personality and going through her own difficult time, she certainly taught the guys (and the reader) a lot.

This is one of those books that I would give a blanket recommendation. If you like your romance with: sweetness, angsty/emotive kids, a character on a journey of self discovery, wonderful BFF’s, HEAs – there is even a sprinkling of illness and danger, I think it’s safe to say you’ll get a lot of enjoyment out of this one.
