Blurb:  Sometimes you have to suffer in order to make the one you love happy…

Steve eavesdrops on a phone conversation—and his whole world crashes around him. He hears something he’d never wanted to hear and knows his lover, Christopher, will be giving him some bad news. Two weeks go by, and with no news, no devastating upset coming his way, Steve decides to end their relationship…to save Christopher the guilt of doing it himself.

Lost in a sea of confusion, Steve tries to push himself back into the single game, only to find memories and his love for Christopher just won’t go away. Alcohol and bars only make his loneliness more apparent and, shoving his pride aside, he visits Christopher in order to make things right between them again.

However, there’s more to that phone call than Steve had imagined, and even though he’d caused their break up to save Christopher hurting, he begins to realize that he’s caused them both more pain than they could have ever imagined

Review:   Steve came home from work early one day and overheard a devastating conversation. His lover of two years was on the phone and didn’t have a clue that Steve was listening. That conversation changed both with men’s lives drastically.

Christopher was hurt beyond belief that Steve had dumped him saying he no longer was in love with him when he had just told him a few weeks ago he loved him always.

Oh, wow! This story is amazing. It is so beautifully written, full of angst and heartache and love. My heart went out to both men.
The story opens with hints of this phone call that changed their lives. As the story goes on you get only tidbits of what it could possibly be. Then the story interspersed a chapter of memory introducing us to how Christopher and he met, how their relationship began, and bloomed and then how it all came crashing down with a chapter of present day and how Steve was coping. I fought tears, but finally they won near the end. Do they reunite? What was this horrible phone call? Can their relationship be saved? You will have to read this and see.

I highly recommend this if you like angst, heartbreak, a breathtaking romance, lessons learned, and some sensual, hot love scenes.
