Elizabeth Noble began telling stories before she actually knew how to write, and her family was very happy when she learned to put words on a page. Review: Juan and Victor are an astronomer and engineer who have been together for years, Victor designs the telescopes Juan works with and the two are lovers. On a space station between Earth and the Moon Juan is reminded of the sweet man beneath Victor’s standoffish and matter of fact outer shell.

This is a great little story that where two long term lovers are reminded of the others qualities when an injury lays one of them low. Juan gets himself into an accident by being careless, Victor is there to help his recovery and to scold him for not planning ahead and Juan is reminded of just how much Victor loves him. Victor is one of those geeky brilliant men who are awkward with interacting with others and he comes across as blunt and straightforward, but underneath it all he will do anything for his lover. Juan is also brilliant, but from the first you know he is the one that will pour his feelings out verbally as he mutters to himself while cursing and working.  

I really enjoyed this little slice of Juan and Victor’s life in space, the hurt/comfort aspect was brilliantly done with Juan making a discovery of just how much Victor loves him. It is very sweet to see these two men together because you get straight away that Juan is like fire to Victor’s ice, passionately fiery to composed calm but together they balance each other out perfectly.

I recommend this to those who love passionate and reserved men, who loves glimpses of the future science fiction, who loves reserved men showing their love with comfort and a very cute ending.
