Shorty’s Review: When I first started reading this book, I didn’t know what to expect, as I didn’t read the description of the book first. I was sucked into the story from the start. Shaney was just so sweet, and Hudson was just hot.

I couldn’t hardly put the book down to eat or sleep. Very riveting plot, characters, details, etc, etc. How JC managed to mix Romantic Comedy with Horror, I don’t know, but he did an excellent job. I certainly hope J.C. Wallace writes more books to this one as I will most certainly buy them. It was the best story I’ve read in a while. Never read anything like it before. Wonderfully written.

I would recommend this to everyone. Awesome job J.C. Wallace!!! 🙂

Pixie’s Review: Oh Shaney, how you actually managed to live to be nineteen is a mystery. With disaster following close on your heels, every day is a new adventure as your curiosity gets the better of you. Shaney really is a disaster waiting to happen and the first time he meets Hudson he ends up in the emergency room and then throws up all over the sexy carpenter’s feet. Now Shaney will have to work closely with Hudson (community service hours… Shane’s curiosity struck again) but it leads to Shaney stumbling across a ritualistic circle that will change Shaney’s life forever. As Shaney struggles with what happened, his best friend Todd tries to help but Shaney thinks he was betrayed (well, being kidnapped and drugged does that to a guy), and he discovers Hudson knows more than he let on.

Well this is truly a wild ride as things come to a head and Shaney, Todd, Hudson, Caleb and Max have to fight the mad occultist (Silas) who started the events 20 years before. This really is a great story with brilliant characters, the writing flows smoothly and you never lose track of what is happening. We discover that while Shaney’s curiosity is a natural occurrence some of the outcomes were caused by something else altogether, something that will have huge repercussions if Shaney doesn’t learn to harness it. Hudson and Shaney’s relationship has some very rocky moments but their feelings for each other are true. Todd, Caleb, and Max are great supporting characters who each play a great part in this story; they have you wondering at times… just whose side are they on?

I thought this story was brilliant, we have quirky Shaney who ends up having some major family drama and we have steady Hudson who has spent his time trying to stay away from the occult but gets dragged in anyway, then we have the supporting cast who are a hodgepodge of men who make this story zing. This story is well written and it holds your attention right from the start with the antics of Shaney and friends and it is filled with a great blend of humor and paranormal, there’s action and danger, some betrayal and twists, a deep seated secret and a rocky romance… what more could we ask for? Hmmm, maybe there could be a hint for a future story for two of the supporting characters, I hope so!

I recommend this to those who love a great paranormal story that has humor laced throughout, a hot relationship that has plenty of ups and downs, fantastic supporting characters and great storyline and a brilliant ending.
