Blurb: Five years after an accident in the Army left Jim blind, he’s braving the summer heat and a new guide dog to walk in the 4th of July parade with the other Wounded Warriors. In Jim’s imagination, he finished the parade, got down on one knee in his uniform, and asked Milo The Question. But a touch of heatstroke wasn’t in his plan, and he still hasn’t found Milo in the crowded fairgrounds. It’s going to take perseverance, strength, and a little love from Milo to get Jim through this Dog Days March.

Review: Jim had thought it would be easy for him to walk the parade and find Milo at the end of it, but he hadn’t considered the heat and how strongly it would affect him. He doesn’t want to blow this up, doesn’t want to be trouble again, but his lover of four years never seems to mind. Anything you want is something Milo never says in vain, but means it completely. Well, what Jim wanted was for this to be a perfect day so he could pop the question. That won’t happen now. But, in the end, what is more perfect than the two of them together?

Such a lovely read this one, sweet and gentle, made out of the finest emotions. I loved its characters. Jim and his silent strength. His dignity and charm were so palpable; it was just so nice reading about him. And Milo, well you always get a certain respect for partners of veterans who stay strong and loving, beside them all the way in such unselfish way.

This quick story even though a bit melancholic was very enjoyable. Strongly recommended for the romantic souls out there.
