An ancient force has awakened and is hellbent on nothing short of the total destruction of the Romanorum. Mael and Cian are thrust into the middle of things, and it’s ultimately on their shoulders to save the Romanorum itself. In the meantime, they’ve got their hands full with bringing a new son into their family, and Mael’s father trying to force Mael to denounce his relationship with Cian.

Review: This book is part of a series and I would advise reading the series in order… oh and also reading the Blood series by Shayne Carmichael and also the Inferi Brotherhood series by Mychael Black as characters from both those series make appearances in this book. It’s been four years since we last saw Mael and Cian. A long, long wait but finally they are here. This book continues from not long after And The Two Shall Become One ends and Nigel (Meal’s father) is still causing trouble for Meal and Cian, but now a bigger threat is emerging that could affect the whole of the Romanorum.

This is a great final addition to The Prince’s Angel series (or Legends of the Romanorum if you prefer) that gives us excitement, danger, confusion, longing, jealousy and intrigue. Mael and Cian are struggling to find more than snatched moments together as an unknown threat drive the Weres into Vampire territory. But, the Weres are not the only ones that are targeted, as Vampires are being staked and rumors are spread. It is up to Mael and Cian along with Diocourides (father of all Vampires) to bring allies together to vanquish the enemy who threatens the entire paranormal world.

I must admit I was gobsmacked by the turn of events in this book and I had to flick through previous books to refresh my memory (all three series), because even though they are not of this series one of the characters has a fundamental part in this one. There is a lot going on with many different characters, but if you have read all three series, then you will know the characters that make an appearance and you will also understand why they were called upon. Now this is a well written story, with a strong storyline and plot, but there was so much going on that unless you have read all the books you might lose some threads.

I really don’t know where to begin… hmmm, Cian has chosen who he wants as his son. Mael and Cian have to sort out the influx of Weres and why they have headed their way. they have the warning of a powerful threat. hmmm they then have to go to Rome and Nigel starts his ranting again. Then, Christian (Mael’s son) becomes involved and Cian becomes jealous. Vampires start to get killed and the rumors begin. Nigel finds out the truth about Taylor (Cian’s new son) and rants even more. the new enemy decides to attack and the allies have a fight on their hands. And then we have the fall out after the battle is won. So, a lot going on and that doesn’t even begin to really cover it.

So, I recommend this to those who love an in-depth paranormal world, complex vampire politics, intrigue, betrayal, plots and jealousy, Love, frustration, battles and new love. There is a lot to experience in this book so I highly recommend this if you love vampires and angels.
