Interview with Chloe Stowe

Pixie: Hello to Chloe Stowe who is joining us today for the Dreamspinner Press Daily Dose with their release Ravenscar, hi Chloe.

Chloe:  Hi Pixie! It’s great to be here.

Pixie: Chloe your contribution to the Daily Dose is Ravenscar why don’t you tell our readers a little about it.

Chloe:  Hmm, I don’t want to give too much away. The twists and turns the reader encounters along the way, I believe, are tremendous fun and add a richness to the love story I’d hate to spoil. Let’s just say: an American doctor goes to war in Afghanistan and falls in love with a British spy who saves his life. I’ll leave the rest to your imagination.

Pixie: So did you have this story in mind before the Daily Dose submission call or did it come into being after you saw the call for hurt/comfort stories?

Chloe: The submission call intrigued me, and then I saw a picture of Robin Hood’s Bay in North Yorkshire. The village sung to my muse like some kind of haunting Greek Siren. My muse and I gladly obeyed her call.

Pixie: Did you enjoy writing a hurt/comfort story or did you find it hard to write?

Chloe: Hurt/comfort stories have become my bread and butter over the years. I think all 15 of my romance novels are based in some part on the premise that life hurts but love heals.

Pixie: You’re an experienced author but did you still feel excitement when Dreamspinner let you know that Ravenscar had been accepted for the Daily Dose Mended?

Chloe: I was absolutely thrilled. I had just returned to writing after a year’s hiatus due to medical issues. Completely healthy and ready to charge back into the game, Dreamspinner’s acceptance of Ravenscar was a brilliant welcome home. The fact that Dreamspinner is such a powerhouse in the m/m romance market left me frankly giddy at the thought I’d be joining them.

Pixie: Do you think you could give the readers a little teaser, just a couple of lines?

Chloe: Sure. Here’s a short, tasty tease from the very heart of Ravenscar… “And so, for two years, the men loved, dancing across the continents.”

Pixie: Do you think you will revisit Ethan and Ayers in the future when they have settled in their new life together?

Chloe: I would love to. If there’s interest, I’d be there in a heartbeat to see where these two amazing men want to take us next.

Pixie: Now why don’t you let the readers know where to find you.

Chloe: The easiest way to reach me is at my author’s website: www.chloestowe.com From there you can find how to keep up with me and my work on Twitter, Facebook, WordPress, Blogger, etc. Plus, you can find all the juicy details on my novels and you can join in on all the fun of my daily author’s blog.

Pixie: Before we go is there anything you’d like to tell the readers and fans?

Chloe: My 15th novel Writhe has just been released. It’s the first of a three book series for Ravenous Romance. And in a bit of breaking news, I have signed with a literary agent! Tish Beaty of the L. Perkins Agency has agreed to take on my projects. It is an incredibly exciting time in my career. I find myself constantly grinning these days.

Pixie: Thank you Chloe for joining us today 🙂

Chloe: Thank you so much for the invitation. It was a true pleasure.

About Chloe

Chloe Stowe is first and foremost a survivor.

In a constant, brutal battle with a panic disorder for twenty-three years, she prides herself in her independence. Beyond having fifteen novels published in the last five years, her greatest achievement is her Masters of Art History from Florida State University. Her unwavering love for the Cubs and the Rays comes in a near second.

Writing is very much her life. When her mental illness clouds the sun, she simply writes herself a new one. And when that sun, too, goes dark, she crafts another and another and….

Unfortunately, it’s hardly as grand as all that. Most days, Chloe finds herself scrapping around in the dark relying on her faith and her war-weary dog to find that elusive speck of light. More days than not, that light is found and Chloe dances in it like a wide-eyed child. She loves to take her readers and blog followers for a breathless spin in it whenever she can.

Apart from all that melodramatic nonsense, she is a romantic who delights in exploring the lust of her characters. Men in her stories are never given an easy road to love, however. Littering their path with obstacles both physical and emotional is Chloe’s specialty.

Review: Ethan waits on the seawall of Robin Hood’s Bay, England, for a companion where they will finally lay the past to rest; as Ethan waits he remembers the past and the circumstances that brought him to England. Four years earlier a road side attack in Afghanistan nearly saw him dead, but a mysterious soldier saved him and Ethan saved the soldiers life in return. Eighteen months later Ethan bumps into the mysterious soldier called Ayers and it starts a romance that spans the years and globe, until the fateful phone call from Ayres father.

This is an incredible romance that dances across the continents as two men live their separate lives but make the time for each other. This story begins with Ethan waiting to meet someone on an English seawall, he’s been left waiting and he reminisces on what brought him to that point. We are then given the full run down on how he first met his lover and the beginning of their relationship as they’d meet up in various cities in Europe and America.

Ethan is a great character who has survived everything life has thrown at him, but getting the phone call that his lover is missing presumed dead nearly breaks him. The ending of this story is really romantic and sweet but the pain Ethan goes through to get his happy ending has you wanting to punch Ayers. You do understand why Ayers did what he had to but, as I said, you still want to punch him for Ethan’s pain. The story flips from the present to the past quite often and it is fairly easy to follow, we get a good feel for both Ethan and Ayers and their relationship so we can enjoy their story to the fullest.

I recommend this to those who love special romances, doing what must be done to be with a loved one, great characters and a wonderful ending.
