The tenor of the music changes, seems to call to me once more, and I am bound to heed the summons. Turning my head, I squint to see beyond the fire pit in the center of the small room. Through the heat-haze I see a man seated on the floor, the pipes to his lips. Only his face and upper torso are visible above the leaping flames, but looking at him causes a rush of something wild and hot to flood my veins.
There is the impression of a radiant, powerful face, a nose like the blade of a scythe, high, finely wrought cheekbones and black curls falling to almost impossibly broad shoulders. But those attributes are cast into shadow by the dark, sparkling eyes, deep-set and compelling, which meet my gaze and hold it in an unwavering stare. My heart pauses between one beat and the next, then begins to rush. Looking into those eyes is like falling off a cliff or being swept away by a torrent—completely overwhelming.

Review: Iason is a shepherd and has always enjoyed his summers in the high mountain pastures but this time he can’t wait for the summer to end and return to his village and all because of his companion. After a brutal assault Iason’s fear of his companion is high and his self-worth is low and he is confused and disgusted at his own feelings. But one stormy night begins to heal Iason’s soul when a stranger saves Iason, Telesphoros the enigmatic man who seduces Iason’s heart. Telesphoros’ secret drives a wedge between them and Iason has to face the man who hurt him.
This is a pretty seductive, sensual feeling story which has a simple shepherd of Ancient Greece and a mythical half beast. Iason has been badly hurt and been left confused by his feelings, meeting Telesphoros has Iason regaining his self-worth and discovering the love he has always yearned for. Telesphoros is exiled from his own kind and has watched the young shepherd from afar, rescuing Iason during a storm gives him the chance to show Iason tenderness and joy but Telesphoros is sure that when he reveals his true nature Iason will no longer want him. Iason has to face his attacker once more and then go after what he truly desires.
I quite enjoyed this erotic story, I really love mythological beings and historical settings and this story also brings in being healed spiritually from a violent abuse. Iason and Telesphoros together don’t just heat up the sheets they also touch the soul, the setting sets off the feeling of something mystical happening between them and their feelings for each other strike like lightning. This is a really well written story where you enjoy the coming together of the two main characters, but you also get to enjoy the background story involving Iason’s abuser and yes Iason handles it beautifully.
I recommend this to those who love Ancient Greek mythological figures, sweet shepherds finding happiness, sensual sex, an abuser getting his due and a very happy ending.
