Blurb: When Cole Foster finally returns home after serving a five-year sentence in prison, it’s only to come face to face with the sad reality that his older brother Matt is struggling to keep their father’s ranch afloat, and that his twin-brother Jared has fallen into a deep pit of despair after having lost the love of his life.

In a last attempt to save his brother from his own destructive behavior, Cole enlists the help of not only his older brother Matt but also a number of unlikely allies all drawn together by fate. Jared isn’t planning on yielding without a fight, but after a life-threatening attack that leaves him incapacitated he finds himself at the mercy of one Samantha Connor, who bears an uncanny resemblance to his lost love Hailey.

Tensions run high when these two get shackled together. Literally. And in the midst of things, some heart-breaking secrets are revealed, causing Jared to question everything he’s ever believed in.

WARNING: This book contains a lot of swearing, some violent scenes and a blond bombshell that won’t take no for an answer.

Review: Very well written story with a lot of different points of view throughout the story. So much happens in this story that it’s possible to comment on everything Cole, Matt and Jared are three brothers who own a ranch. Matt has been taking care of things since Cole went to prison and Jared began a downhill spiral after the death of his girlfriend a year before.

As the story progresses we are introduced to other characters who are injured in some way or another. Kit is labeled the troublemaker of the town. But no one except Jared realizes is he’s being beat horribly by stepfather. Christian is a soldier who was injured in Afghanistan and has Brain damage but seems like a very sweet man despite his outward appearance. Kyle is a young man who’s spent his life in a cage being drugged and done despicable things to. He’s terrified of everything. It broke my heart to read about Jared, Christian, Kyle, and Kit.

I have to say I wholeheartedly did not like the shrink Ben. Especially what he did to Jared to force him get over his girlfriend. That really made me angry that he forced Jared to be around someone who resembles her. When that didn’t work, he uses an electric shock collar on him and puts a bracelet on the doppelganger to force him to be around her. That was so wrong on so many different levels that I grew disgusted with the story and couldn’t get over it. If that happened in real life the man would’ve been in jail and lose his license.

I didn’t understand why John attacked and injured Jared the way he did. Although I liked the story, the shrink scenes turned me against the rest of it. I just couldn’t get past it.
