See You In The Morning
by
A.T. Weaver
Jake and Dave lived and loved for over fifty years. During that time, they campaigned for gay rights. They married each other three times until, finally, in 2013, the United States Supreme Court declared DOMA to be unconstitutional and thus legalized their union. They made a family and raised four beautiful children together. When he loses Dave to a massive stroke, Jake feels his world has ended. Join him as he relives a life well-lived through memories triggered by photos of his and Dave’s years together. Jake feels as though Dave is still sitting beside him. As each picture is described, he reminds Dave of when and where it was taken. The reader is then taken to that time and place.

About A.T. Weaver
A. T. Weaver is the pen name of a Kansas City grandmother of ten. She lives with her cat, Cleopatra, in downtown Kansas City, MO. When she was growing up, the word gay meant happy and carefree and homosexuals were called queer or ‘one-of-those’. However, she never heard those terms until she was married and a mother. In 2003, through a TV show called Boy Meets Boy, A.T ‘met’ over 3,000 gay men in a Yahoo group. These men educated her as to the inequalities suffered by the LGBT community and she became a staunch ally. She visited one of the men in San Francisco who lived just up the street from the Castro. As he showed her around, they stopped in front of what was once Harvey Milk’s camera store. Her question, “Who was Harvey Milk?” started her education into Gay history. A. T.’s aim is to move you in some way. Whether you laugh or cry, love it or hate it, she welcomes all comments, whether good or bad.
A T Weaver actively participates in a charity walk every year, and this blog tour is in honour of all those in the walk and to raise funds for the walk and help AIDS charities.

Review: For over fifty years Jake and Dave faced the world together, they fought for marriage equality and married three times, they raised four wonderful children and watched as more family came into their world. As Jake loses Dave to a stroke we relive Jakes memories as he sees their life together in photographs and the love and joy he and Dave had are shared with us.
This is an incredible story that pulls at your heart as we see Jake’s and Dave’s lives spread out before us. This isn’t a story that I can really describe as it doesn’t just focus on just one thing, it focus’ on Dave’s and Jake’s lives together, so we see many moments in their lives from when they meet to their first date to Jake’s family accepting Dave, to their first, second and third weddings and then on to their first adoption and so forth, so the moments we see are all important moments in their lives together and all these memories are triggered by photos as Jake looks over their lives together just after Dave dies.
What I can tell you is this story is beautifully written and the characters are incredible men who will bring tears to your eyes with their love for each other and their family. You admire these men for their all-encompassing love, the way that they spread their joy with others and the way that they love each other so much. We see how they influence the lives of their family to be accepting of others and to forgive those whose own views are bigoted. We fall in love with both Jake and Dave and we feel the joy they shared.
I recommend that this book be put on your ‘read now’ list as it isn’t one to miss if you want an incredible story of a love that lasts over five decades, where bigotry and hate are faced down with poise and where a sad ending can also be one of happiness.
Definitely want to read this one. And I love the idea of giving people an opportunity to donate to the author’s cause via the giveaway!
This looks like a good tearjerker. Great cause and great giveaway
