Lou Sylvre & Anne Barwell

Kiwi Nathaniel Dunn is in a fighting mood, but how does a man fight Wellington’s famous fog? In the last year, Nate’s lost his longtime lover to boredom and his ten-year job to the economy. Now he’s found a golden opportunity for employment where he can even use his artistic talent, but to get the job, he has to get to Christchurch today. Heavy fog means no flight, and the ticket agent is ignoring him to fawn over a beautiful but annoying, overly polite American man.

Rusty Beaumont can deal with a canceled flight, but the pushy Kiwi at the ticket counter is making it difficult for him to stay cool. The guy rubs him all the wrong ways despite his sexy working-man look, which Rusty notices even though he’s not looking for a man to replace the fiancé who died two years ago. Yet when they’re forced to share a table at the crowded airport café, Nate reveals the kind heart behind his grumpy façade. An earthquake, sex in the bush, and visits from Nate’s belligerent ex turn a day of sightseeing into a slippery slope that just might land them in love.

Lou Sylvre!

Hi! Lou Sylvre here, very happy to once again be visiting MM Good Book Review —one of my favorite book blogs. The occasion this time is the kick-off for the Sunset at Pencarrow blog tour. The book, a Dreamspinner World of Love novella, is available for preorder now and will officially release on June 7. Co-author Anne Barwell and I have a fun blog tour planned, and you can find the schedule and links to all the blogs right here (just click). We’ve got a giveaway going on, starts this very day on this very blog—so don’t forget to enter as many ways as you can.

I thought and thought about what to write this post about, but finally I decided what I really want to do is tease all you nice readers. So after the blurb, we’ve got snippets from Sunset at Pencarrow. Some are sweet, some are hot, and they seem like a good way to introduce Rusty, Nate, and that other important character, New Zealand. I hope they also tempt you, so you’ll want to get to know them better.

First, here’s the description—

Now for the bits and bobs from the book—

I’ll call this one sweet, or maybe silly. I’m not sure Kiwi’s would agree with either. For them, it’s just the truth:

“It’ll be hot and humid, I’m afraid,” Nate had said, preparing him. “Although part of the time it might be cool and blustery, and at some point, it will almost certainly rain. Because it’s February, and that’s how late summer works in New Zealand. Especially around here.”

And a sexier one—temperature starting to rise:

How could the word “sex” harden Rusty’s cock to the point of pain? But he knew the word was coincidental; it was Nate unleashing possibility that made him fall headfirst into the desire he’d been trying to hold at bay.

He glanced around. They’d ended up some yards from the trail behind a tall rock formation and some brush, which screened them from the path and the river—and from anyone who might pass by. It seemed as if the earth had deliberately shaken things up, conspiring with fate to land them there. They were alone.

Okay, this one’s a little longer than a snippet, maybe, but sizzling, right? (Seriously NSFW.):

Rusty had woken up some hours into the night to find moonlight bathing the hut’s interior. It silvered everything it touched, and the brightness seemed to compel Rusty to wakefulness. His cock pulled at his attention, straining toward Nate as if it had found a home. Rusty might have tried to mentally talk the unruly beast down, show it which head was running the show, but a draft stirred the air, and he caught Nate’s scent strong in his nostrils.

They’d fallen asleep zipped into the sleeping bags and covered with their thin blankets. Rusty hadn’t wanted to break the connection with Nate—even if it had been nothing more than sex. They weren’t spooning, not quite that intimate. Yet when he woke with the smell of Nate and sex permeating the darkness, he became a slave to it, couldn’t seem to stop himself from wrapping his body around the man. He may even have groaned as he pushed his erection against Nate’s prickly-haired thigh. Of course Nate woke up, and before Rusty could even start to think or talk, Nate took his lips in a hard, biting kiss. Heat surged through Rusty. He broke away, unzipping the bags to push the covers back so he could follow his nose down to Nate’s cock, which was already leaking precum and gleaming in the moonlight. The sight and smell of it entranced Rusty like a hypnotist’s gem, and he lowered his mouth down to savor the taste. He knew right then that the memory of blowing Nate would be burned into his brain as one of the hottest things he’d ever done.

And now we’re back to sweet:

Nate watched Rusty sleep by the light of the fire for a while. Outside, the bird noise grew quiet as darkness settled in for the night. Nate’s eyelids started to droop, and he yawned. He kissed Rusty softly on the cheek, but Rusty didn’t stir. “Thank you,” Nate whispered.

This had been the best evening he’d had in a very long time. He intended to treasure the memory forever.

  1. Congrats on the new release, Lou and Anne. This books sounds so good. I love biracial romances. You don’t come across them too many times.

    1. Thanks, Tanja! We didn’t set out to write a biracial romance—it’s just who our characters turned out to be—but I agree it’s lovely to have it so. 🙂

  2. I love the cover of this book ladies, and I like the thought of the story being half way round the world in a place I’m unlikely to see. i have it on pre-order already!!

    1. Suze, thanks so much! I agree on the cover—Reese Dante is such an exceptional artist. About being a place you might not see, that was part of the reason I wanted to write it. The research was fun, and thanks to Google Street View I got to travel some of the roads. Enjoy the read, and your thoughts are welcome once you do, if you feel like sharing. 🙂

  3. Congrats on the new book! Love reading books about places I’ve never been to so I can find more places to add to my bucket list

  4. Congrats on the new book! The cover is great and the story sounds better. “You’ve got sexy toes, Rusty”, I love it!

  5. Congratulations for the upcoming book release. I always want to visit NZ since geographically, Indonesia is quite close, right? Maybe one day…

    1. Hey, Ami, you made me look at a map! Yes, indeed, pretty close in terms of world geography. I want to visit too, even though it’s pretty far away from my home. Seems like a wonderful place. Thanks!

  6. Congratulations on your new book! I loved the snippets! Definitely made me want more!

  7. I look forward to reading this book. I’ve read Lou’s works but not Anne’s so I’m pretty excited about this one.
