Blurb: When Cole arrives at the scene of a major fire, he finds that his best friend, a paramedic named Finn, has recklessly risked his life by running into the burning building. Finn emerges fine, though singed, but Cole does not take the situation well. Their heated argument sparks a confession from Finn regarding his feelings for Cole, but a night of passion might not survive the light of day.

Review: Cole freaks out when he arrives at a major fire and discovers his best friend Finn, a paramedic, ran into the burning building to save a child. Cole is far from happy that Finn risked his life when he knew the fire fighters were just minutes away. Finn might have risked his life but he saved a child’s life, what’s a singed uniform and smoke inhalation compared to that? But he discovers that Cole, a firefighter and his best friend, is far from happy with his actions and it changes their friendship forever.

Phew with a title like Sweat and Smoke you just know you will get a hot little number 😉 Cole and Finn’s friendship is put under strain when Finn rushes into a burning building, Cole can’t put the fear aside that he felt and his long hidden feelings come boiling to the surface.  Finn isn’t sorry for risking his life but he regrets worrying his best friend Cole, when he goes to Cole later for comfort he gets a lot more than he bargained for.

This is a great story that has some steamy moments and is a great friend to lovers’ story. Cole and Finn have both hidden the attraction they feel for the other, but when Finn risks his life it is the catalyst that changes their friendship and it explodes in a passionate way. I loved this story and the fact that Finn and Cole have a solid friendship that they have built up over years, them changing the footing of the friendship doesn’t really have any hiccups and felt natural, especially the circumstances for the change. That blinding fear that has all your feelings rushing to the surface, the relief and also anger that pushes you to act instead of standing back… it is beautifully done.

I recommend this to those who love firefighters and paramedics steaming up the pages, where friendship can explode into something passionate in the blink of the eye and where two men finally act on their attraction.

  1. Sounds like a great steamy story, please count me in for the giveaway. Thanks.

  2. I love stories about firefighters, paramedics, or any men in uniform. 🙂 Please count me in. Thanks!

  3. Thanks for the review. It sounds like a great read. Thank you for the chance to win =)

  4. I’m a Volunteer EMT and love to read stories that have Emergency Responders in them.

Here’s joke for you: A man out camping sees another man with a poorly managed campfire and says “I’m a volunteer fireman; It looks like you’re having trouble with that fire.” The second man responds, “Well I’m a professional fireman so I think I have it under control.” First man; “I don’t think you heard me right, I do your job in my spare time!”

Do you think he got to help with his “fire” ????? 😉
