Review: Charlie couldn’t remember celebrating Christmas after his parents passed away when he was a small child. Growing up in foster care it just seemed no one really gave a damn. Now as an adult, he still hadn’t had a Christmas yet. That all changes when Max runs out in front of him and he ends up meeting a sexy man. That sexy man who just so happens to own his apartment complex.

When Aemon finds out about Charlie’s past and the fact that he took in a homeless cat named Max, well Aemon decided to give them a Christmas to remember.

I really got a kick out of this one. Although I don’t know where he came across all these animals. It was such a sweet and cute little story that seem like it was so much more. It had so much in it, details and depth. This is probably one of my favorite Christmas stories ever. I will definitely be putting this in my every Christmas story list. I think I have came across a new author for me to read.

Blurb: DecemberCon 2017. John Perlan, aka YouTuber “SmileyNibor,” has come to the con for one reason and one reason only: to see his idol, actor Derek Kitow. And since Derek has announced he’ll be dressed as the original Aquaman, Perlan decides to come as the Aquaman reboot. It helps that he already has the beard and the bod to make a convincing Momoaman.

But when Derek Kitow makes his entrance, he recognizes Perlan from his tiny YouTube channel and wants him onstage! Has Kitow been following him online? Could SmileyNibor’s hero also be a fan? And what exactly does Kitow have in mind by inviting Perlan to meet him after the panel?

Review: John came to the DecemberCon with his friends for only one reason. He just wanted to see his heartthrob. He had always had a crush on the actor, but never knew the actor would be into him. So when Derek told everyone he would show up in the original Aquaman costume, well John had to also. Then Derek shows just how much he does see John.

This story felt a bit off to me. I have never been into Con’s or people that go to them, so I never saw the thrill of them. It seems like a lot of talking, meeting and then hot sex. There was not really any holiday stuff involved with this book. So it just felt completely off and wrong for this calendar. Other than that, it is a nice story but not much for me to get more than a taste.

The weight of past wounds and the scars of war might make their reunion awkward, but Clay is willing to take the risk to win back his lost love. Review: Clay and Daniel met in the military and also fell in love. Daniel had a wonderful home life in a great town that he bragged about. Where as Clay had been abandoned by his mother. He had lost so much in such a short time. When Clay wanted more, Daniel said no. Now twenty-five years later, Clay is going to surprise him big time. He is going to go see him and hope for the future.

It is a very cute little story. It is a nice surprise and I enjoyed it. For such a short story it had a lot of depth to it. I really like Clay quite a bit, Daniel not so much. I also liked the Santa Claus angle. It didn’t make my heart beat fast but it was a good story.

I liked it and would recommend it.

Blurb: An aggressive super-flu pandemic wipes out a majority of the population over the course of one Christmas holiday—and brings Tobin and Kyle together. For almost a year, they’ve been trekking across the country from Colorado toward a sanctuary in upstate New York. Kyle’s survival skills have kept them alive, and Tobin wants to repay the man he loves with a very special gift of his own making. He sneaks off in search of the last few pieces… only to get himself and Kyle kidnapped by a desperate stranger. With their journey to New York on hold—possibly indefinitely—they’ll need to accept that home isn’t always defined by a place as much as the person you’re with.

Review: Well one never expects to wake up on Christmas and find almost everyone dead from a very aggressive super flu. Tobin and Kyle made it. Kyle had in fact saved Tobin’s life one night, and they have been together ever since. They decided to go to New York where a sanctuary is set up. To bad they hadn’t expected to get kidnapped. They soon realize home is where your loved one is.

When I first read the blurb for this I wasn’t really to sure how it was going to turn out. Especially for the Christmas season. I admit I was kind of expecting zombies. It is two young men trying to survive. It turned out to be a blast to read and I really enjoyed it. I loved how their kidnapping turned out. It would seem the kidnapper was just about as crazy as they were. It was a sweet story that intrigued me quite a bit.

I had a blast reading it and can guarantee that you will too.

Aaron hopes so, but things aren’t that simple. Craig has been keeping a secret…. Review: Aaron is the type that needs to think things through and then make up his mind. He would go into a panic attack sometimes at certain things. He was in love with Craig, but Craig was holding something back from him. He had never even seen Craig’s place, but that is about to change. Now he is about to find out what Craig has been hiding from him. His life is about to get changed real fast.

This is a very cute little story that will draw you in and keep your attention. The guys are not only sexy but so damn sweet. I liked the surprises that was in it, although I think Aaron might just have another panic attack. It is a very entertaining tale of love. I had a blast reading it and wil hope to read more about these two in the future. I think I have found an author to watch out for.

I would definitely recommend this book.

Review: Rory’s grandfather is a very sweet old man. He has decided that Rory needs to start a family. He wants Rory to find the man of his dreams. Rory’s grandfather gave him an old pocket watch that would help him get his life settled. So when his ex shows up, well things heat up. Deacon has lost quite a bit in his life and has came home to start over. When he ran into Rory things look up for him. Gramps is going to get a big head.

This is a sad little story but it has a great ending. I love his grandfather and his way of helping. Although I still have no clue what they were celebrating, it seemed like a lot of fun. I enjoyed reading it although I will admit that it comes off a bit slow paced to me.

It was still fun and I would definitely recommend it.

If he hadn’t tried to kiss Parker under the mistletoe at the winter formal their senior year, Parker wouldn’t have bolted. At their ten-year reunion, Keith intends to do everything in his geeky power to make amends.

Parker should have known that scheduling the reunion the day before Christmas Eve was a recipe for a headache of monster proportions. But when Keith sends a text that he’ll be attending, the evening doesn’t look so bleak. Can an unnecessary makeover, a nostalgic breakfast, an abortive shopping trip, and a whole lot of mistletoe culminate in a long-overdue first kiss?

Review: In high school Parker ran from a kiss. Even though he wanted Keith, he ran. Now ten years later, a the high school reunion, it is up to Parker to fix it.

It is a sweet loves story that was just a bit off. It just gives you a taste of what could happen, but stops before it does. At least we know the guys get together, but it still came out a bit flat. Other than that it was a nice little story to read. Good for when you are taking a break. Although I have never had a class reunion happen around Christmas.

Review: Ace and Gavin are in a relationship. Ace wants to give Gavin something special for Christmas and so looks for a willing young man to be a third. This is where we meet Johnathan. Johnathan is only too willing to accept the request. The three spend a hot night together.

As the story progresses the three men realize they have stronger feelings for each other than they thought. It was a sweet, short Christmas story with a very large heaping of sex all throughout.

Great read.

Blurb: At a very early age, Ben learned that, in life, there was no such thing as something to believe in. What was the point? Each time he did, someone would come along and prove to him how wrong he was. The fact that his sister died by a drunk driver, who’d walked away without a scratch, and forcing Tobias to move to Texas — one of the most homophobic states in the country — to take care of his now motherless nieces, drove home just how cruel life could be. How was he supposed to help two of the sweetest kids he’d ever known deal with the hell their life would be without the one person they’d depended on, when he was fairly certain, his moving to Texas would only show them how horrible people could be to one another?

Darius had seen things that would make most people cringe in revulsion and dread. His parents had traveled, with Darius in tow, all around the world to help those in need. So tragedy wasn’t something new to him. As terrible as some of it had been, Darius had also seen the kindness and sacrifice people made to help others. He was a true believer in the goodness of humanity.

Determined to help Ben discover that though he may have had hit a few bumps in the road growing up, he’d also met people who had been there for him, helping him when they didn’t have to get involved. For life might not always be perfect and at times even cruel, but it was also wonderful and kind if one knew where to look.

Ben had to admit that Darius was causing him to look at the world differently. That there might be a chance he’d been only looking for the negative. But, for him, there was one more test that the world would have to pass for him to truly change and it would take a Christmas Miracle to do it.

Review: A heartwarming story that will make you sad, happy and laugh. Ben gets called home to take care of his nieces after his sisters death. While at the funeral he meets the minister Darius when he comes to his rescue after Ben’s mother starts up with him.

I did not like Ben’s prejudice, homophobic mother. She really got on my nerves. Thankfully Darius was always there to help. I loved the life changing aspects of the book and how each character dealt with certain situations.

Great read.

Review: Rory was a bit upset with his boyfriend breaking up with him and his parents off on a long trip. He decided to spend his two-week Christmas break at the dorm’s. Peace and quiet with no one around. That is until one of the freshman was stuck right there with him. James was a quiet young man who didn’t really have any friends. It looks like his luck might just be changing.

I am not normally a fan of very short stories but this one was a blast to read. Not only is it short, but the author seemed to put the whole magic into it. It felt like a nice size story with quite a bit of detail to it. It is perfect for the holidays and has given me a new author to look out for. The characters were entertaining and the sex was pretty hot.

This might just change my idea of short Christmas stories. I had a lot of fun with it and would definitely recommend it. I can also admit that this will probably be on my holiday read list for each Christmas.

Review: James and Cole have been best friends since junior high, and boyfriends not to long after that. James went off to join the military and Cole stayed home to teach kids. Long distance relationship is pretty hard but these two make it seem easy. This is the first Christmas however, when Cole would be celebrating alone. When James sent him a box with a puzzle in it, Cole knew he was in for a hunt.

I found that I actually liked this quite a bit, and would wish that it was turned into a longer story. It is a short story that had quite a bit of detail and depth to it. I was quite surprised, there are not many short stories that have that. Usually you just get a taste and it is done, but this gives you so much more. I enjoyed the adventure and these two are just plain perfect for each other. I will be looking at this author’s work from now on. I had a lot of fun with it and would definitely recommend it.

Asher is the polar opposite—he loves Christmas to a fault and schedules himself into the ground with fundraisers to help the local community. Review: Stokely lived his life in foster care, and most of them were not even close to being good places. He grew up hating Christmas and crowds from what I can tell. He has a great job where he helps people but after that he never sees them again. He has a big heart but has been hurt in the past. He has one pleasure and that is listening to Asher on the radio. Even if the guy loves Christmas. When they meet, Asher tries to get him in the mood, but things go really slow with them. But Stokely might just learn to love the holidays.

This one was a really sweet Christmas story but also really sad in parts of it. These two are perfect together. I was glad for the happy ending, but must admit the story was a little slow for me. But it was still a great story. I enjoyed reading it and would definitely recommend it. In a way it tells how a Christmas should be.

When Ellis finds the saddest-looking Christmas tree south of the Mason-Dixon Line thrown away outside his workplace and brings it home to Casey, things look up. Review: Young love beats all. Casey and Ellis have been best friends forever and boyfriends for just about as long. Christmas time is even made better when Ellis finds a very sad looking tree that was being thrown out. To Casey that was the best tree ever. Things start to look up for them both.

This story is one of those that makes you think about the people around you. It makes you thankful of what you have. This story was probably the perfect Christmas story I have ever came across. It was sweet and tender, will make you cry, and then it will make you smile. I enjoyed the characters and their quirky ways.

A Warfield Christmas

(The Warfield Hotel Mysteries)
by

C.J. Baty

Peter Warfield wanted a Christmas like none before. A celebration of putting the past behind them. Leaving Bradley Warfield and Moses Lee buried in the past. A new tradition of love and happiness for future generations.

But, no one was cooperating.

You are invited to celebrate the holidays with Peter, Sally and their daughter, Lily, at the Warfield Manor. There’s no murder to solve or a criminal to catch, but there are secrets to be revealed.

Justin Warfield and Marcus Drummond aren’t speaking or telling anyone else what is going on. Damien Fitzgerald and Robert Wyler have been out of the country but is that really the truth. Sally’s been trying to tell Peter something important for weeks but he’s so wrapped up in Christmas, she can’t get through to him.

Three Holiday Romances
by

D.J. Jamison

Winter Blom: Lane Cross works construction to pay the bills, and makes metal art to … also pay the bills. As a single dad, the enjoyment of his art has taken a backseat to making ends meet. And his love life has taken a back seat to caring for his son, especially when Zach, age 6, sabotages every babysitting attempt Lane makes. Then Lane meets news intern Andy Blom. The man’s Swedish name meaning bloom is perfect for him: Andy is refreshingly sweet and vibrant. But when Lane moves too fast, will he scare away the surprisingly innocent young man – or will Andy’s journalistic ethics end them before they ever begin?

Chance for Christmas: Chance Rasmussen returns to Ashe, Kansas, eight years after his high school crush humiliated him with a sext that went viral. He’s low on holiday spirit with his personal ghost of Christmas past haunting him, but when his BFF asks him to attend a party as her fake date, he reluctantly agrees. The last person he expects to see there is Joe Stewart, the compassionate prosecutor he hero-worshipped during the lowest point of his life. The spark of attraction is still there, but Chance isn’t planning to stay in Ashe past the holidays and the specter of his past still looms large between them. Can they find a way to build a future together or will Joe only have Chance for Christmas?

Yours For The Holiday: Remy Wells is in no mood to share a room with his brother’s best friend during a holiday stay. Jason Hendricks has always treated him like a little brother to tease and taunt, all the more embarrassing because Remy has secretly crushed on the jerk since puberty. But when Jason confides he’s bisexual, Remy realizes the crush he loves to hate could be the perfect rebound.

Two of the books in this set are from the Ashe Sentinel Connections universe, but each romance introduces new characters and can be read on its own.

(Atherton Pack 05)

Being pregnant is not all it’s cracked up to be, especially when you’re male and a shifter. Even though the world now knows about wolf shifters, their male’s ability to bare young is still a closely guarded secret. Since Corey’s pregnancy is now visible, he’s been stuck at home working on code and waiting for company to drop by. Problem is, though, the human government wants to know where Corey is.

As Christmas and Corey’s due date draw ever nearer, Ben devises a plan that will not only get Corey out of the house, but allows the wolves of Atherton Pack to give the community some Christmas cheer.
