Blurb: Thaddeus sold his soul to save his family long ago, but the deal he struck with the demon Belial has him spending eternity managing Le Carnaval du Diable, filled to the brim with others damned into servitude. Belial wants more than Thaddeus’ soul, though, and his constant advances only add to Thaddeus’ stress as he faces a threat to the carnival and all those within.

Review: Well, wasn’t that a surprising ending to this deal-with-the-devil themed story. Actually, this entire read was kind of unique. Thaddeus traded his soul for the lives of his wife and son. He freely gave his soul to the devil, but he is one of a kind, as he didn’t do it for selfish reasons, hence he’s not a complete mindless servant of the demon in charge of him. Thaddeus has the right to say “NO” to anything not in his contract and he exercises that right every single time. After years of having Belial chasing him, trying to lesser his resistance and make him his as a bed partner Thaddeus is feeling his weakness grow, after all Belial is very persistent and very tempting. But the last dregs of his dignity rely upon his ability to say that little word and stubbornly Thaddeus clings to it. No matter how frustrated, no matter how weary, he will not submit to Belial.

This story is just that from start to finish, Thaddeus fight to remain himself, not to give up entirely to the demon. Yes, we see through his eyes and feel his waning strength, we see his fantasies and witness some self-stress relieving, but he keeps going in a stay of hate/longing throughout the story.

When danger comes in his Carnaval and Thaddeus is faced with losing his mortality as well, things become precarious and he’s one little step from letting go and letting Belial finally take what he wants.

As I said this story is quite different from what I at least am used to. I expected a give there by the end, but I was surprised that the authors kept at it. It made a difference, but it also made me wonder if there is going to be a continuation to this story. If not then it just leaves you there with the feeling that while the darkness might have a piece of you it doesn’t necessarily means they own you completely. Strong morale there, but honestly I’d have loved my fiction a bit wicked and naughty.

Review: This story is part of a series and must be read in order. Zeph, the Angel of Vengeance, is on his way to see his cousin Danjal when he feels a pull and he comes across his mate, but claiming his mate isn’t easy when he is suddenly called upon to deal with some zombies. Nick is trying to drown is sorrows as he contemplates his life, not being a full Klauson has him being looked down on by the rest of the family but he continues to do his work seeking out the dread and dark pockets and wiping out the cause. Together, Zeph and Nick face more than just zombies and to be together one of them might just have to give up everything.

This is a great addition to the series bringing us some answers but also opening up new ones as one case closes and a discovery is made. Nick is a great character who has had his confidence knocked repeatedly by members of his own family, he has no clue why Zeph would want him, but Nick has a lot to offer. Zeph’s character is perfect for Nick because he sees the true worth of Nick, he doesn’t see anything wrong with Nick being half-human and appreciates the gifts that Nick has. They have instant chemistry and are fated to be together but they face opposition when Zeph’s people interfere.

The storyline continues on smoothly from The Case of the Dragon’s Dilemma with the zombie’s at Mal’s school, it also brings Danjal and Hart back into the story and Smudge starts bringing in the familiar’s for Sam to place. We see how Sam and Bob are doing and how Sam is still in denial, we discover the truth about the necromancer with Nick saving the day with Christmas magic and we see a new relationship being forged between Zeph and Nick that didn’t start out perfectly but picks up speed quickly.

I really do enjoy this series and how it’s progressing. You never know what we will face next, what interesting characters we will be introduced to, or what new problems will arise. And we can’t help but wonder when poor Sam will get an actual paying case that doesn’t end up involving him, Bob or Mal in some way. Zeph and Nick make interesting additions to the little group of friends and they bring that extra angst as they face down those uppity Angels and they get a surprise visit.

I recommend this to those who adore the paranormal, love great characters, love perving on not one but two couples, getting pulled into interesting and different storylines and having great happy endings.

Blurb: Trying to convince the gladiator master, Flavius, that bear shifter Corbin is what he needs is no easy task when the world says otherwise. The upcoming gladiatorial match takes the two of them to New Orleans, and Corbin hopes the change in scenery may be just what they need to get their relationship officially off the ground.

Flavius’s connection to Corbin could earn him jail time if he’s ever caught, but he can’t stop touching him or deny the ever-present connection between them. Resolving to stay away from Corbin has been terrifically ineffective, but the match provides him the opportunity to create greater distance if he has the self-control to follow through.

However, the event throws Flavius a curve ball that neither of them expects and it will take both of them to deal with the fallout. Will they buckle under the newfound pressure or will they find something unexpectedly sweet in a world designed to keep them apart?

Review: This story is part of a series and must be read in order. Flavius is the gladiator master who doesn’t see his slaves as just beasts, he is trying to improve the lot of his slaves so they have more freedom but his own secret feelings for Corbin could lose them everything. Corbin, Flavius’ Lanista, wants nothing more than to be able to claim his mate but a relationship between a master and slave is forbidden, punishable by jail time for the master. Flavius fights his feelings for Corbin but Corbin won’t allow him to back off, then a deep dark secret about Flavius is discovered and Flavius’ household must pull together or lose everything.

Ah, we finally get the story about Flavius and Corbin, we all saw the tension between them in Cat and Mouse but now we see the full struggle that they both faced and we discover just how hard it has been for both of them. Flavius is doing the best he can with his gladiator house, but keeping away from Corbin proves to be impossible. Corbin wishes he could claim the one meant for him and refuses to be pushed away, hoping to find a solution he pursues his master but things become more complicated. Both Flavius and Corbin are shocked when the truth comes out and they have to rely on each other for support and can only hope for the future.

This is a brilliant story in a setting where shifters are slaves and humans the masters, using the shifters natures as a guide to their placing in the human world and having clear guidelines on shifter laws. Both Corbin and Flavius are in a difficult position with their forbidden relationship, Flavius tries to deny what is between them because of the laws and Corbin is beginning to no longer care about the laws. At the gladiator games, it comes to a head between them and they have to turn to their household gladiators for help. Flavius makes some surprising connections and Flavius’ slaves are about to get a freedom they have never had before.

This story feels very much like it continues on from Cat and Mouse. And in a way, it does, because we got to see from the outside Corbin’s & Flavius’s relationship in Cat and Mouse, so we knew there was something between them. It also carries on with the changing household situation for all the slaves. With Flavius wanting fairer treatment for the slaves, even before he learned the truth. The relationship between Corbin and Flavius is really well written with the conflicting emotions between following their hearts or following the law, dealing with the new discoveries and making surprising allies. They are a perfect couple in a very difficult situation.

I recommend this to those who love shifters in tight situations, a master trying to do the right thing, fighting the heart and losing, accepting fate, hot sex, a great storyline and a new beginning with hope for the future.

Blurb: After learning that his brother is a vampire/angel hybrid, Kieran O’Callaghan has some trouble adjusting to the new and strange world he’s being dragged in to. If it weren’t for Joey, the werewolf who has seemingly taken it upon himself to be Kieran’s friend and guide, Kieran wouldn’t know how to handle it all.

Joey Taylor was born and raised in Australia by a deeply religious, and prejudiced, pack of werewolves. Some people might think him a little unusual, but Joey is nothing if not loyal. When he meets Kieran, he instantly knows that the man is his fated mate. It should be the best day of his life, only Kieran is completely straight and just out of a long-term relationship. With Joey resigned to the fact that he can only ever be Kieran’s friend, and Kieran determined to fight fate every step of the way, can they find their way to each other before it’s too late.

Purchase Link: http://www.bookstrand.com/fate-is-a-series-of-choices-we-make

Review: This book is part of a series and must be read in order. In the aftermath of the kidnapping in The Holy Trinity Joey is left keeping Sam’s mum company and trying to explain things to her, he is surprised when his mate walks through the door and he is human, and straight. Kieran is finding it hard to believe everything that has been revealed to him but with Joey guiding the way he begins to get a handle on it, that is until he begins to have feelings for Joey. Struggling with his torn feelings for two people, his ex-girlfriend and Joey, Kieran doesn’t know which way to turn and he resents that the choice might be taken out of his hands. Joey can only stand by and hope that Kieran will stop fighting fate, but Joey is encouraged to open his heart to Kieran.

This story continues from The Holy Trinity Sam’s brother Kieran in the starring role. This is a great continuation of The Wolves of Greenwich as Kieran gets pulled into his brothers new-found world, there is lots of soul-searching for Kieran as he falls for Joey, a fact that has him confused and then angry as he thinks his choice has been taken from him. Joey is perfect as the patient wolf, biding his time until his mate learns to accept him. Things get passionate between them but Kieran has more than just a mating to think about when Joey gets carried away, and angst follows, as Kieran has to decide what he wants.

I enjoyed this story and liked getting a glimpse of Sam, Jackson, and Alek. Kieran is really torn over what he thought he would always have and what fate says he should have, finding himself attracted to a man really does shake him up especially as he isn’t sure that he still doesn’t want the ex. Joey is really patient and has a hard time coping while Kieran decides what he wants, and I liked it when he took matters into his own hands. While Kieran and Joey work out their relationship, we see Sam still trying to find the man who took him to Rita’s when he was a boy, and we see poor Luka who isn’t coping.

I recommend this to those who love shifters, friends to lovers and mates, struggling with choices of the heart, hot sex and a great ending.

Review: This book is an amazing read. It leads into many things paranormal and has a fantastic pull to it.

Gaby is a world champion surfer who lost twelve years. The boyfriend from the past is in the past. He falls in love with Pono, who in turn loves him with every breath he has in him. There is a twist to this story that will fascinate you and will entice you to read more. Gaby is a loving and caring man, who in the past was kind of selfish, but in the future is the best man he could be. Pono is a tender and caring man, who is so easy to fall in love with. The sex between them is just as they are tender and loving.

There is a time traveling element in this story that brings the plot into the amazing category. I sit on the bed, with the classic music channel playing and read this story all the way through. It kept me on the edge of my seat.

I loved this story and will love having it in my library to be read later on.

Blurb: Beltran is a peaceful man, but when his Bolivian cousin is brutalized, he seeks out a native sorcerer in a quest for vengeance. He has no way of knowing Katari, the Inca shaman, is an amaru demon, a serpent shifter determined to break an ancient spell. Beltran’s desire for black magic gives Katari what he’s waited centuries to acquire—a perfect sacrifice.

Product Link: http://www.stormmoonpress.com/books/The-Seventh-Sacrifice.aspx

Review: A tale that takes you in a mix of myth and fiction The Seventh Sacrifice follows Beltran’s attempt to revenge his cousin. Seeking a charm from a shaman Beltran never really believes that it will work. But the shaman, Katari, bewitches him in ways he doesn’t understand. Katari’s beauty is undeniable, but even more so are the dark eyes that compel Beltran to surrender.

For centuries enslaved by the ancient spell, the time has finally arrived for Katari to perform his part of the sacrifice that will break the old spell. Last of his brothers, the seventh sacrifice is going to release their mother and give them all their full powers and true for, the amaru. Katari could have very well used a less suitable sacrifice years before, but he waited for the perfect one to come, and Beltran is that one.

So much magic, dark one at that, serpent gods, old myths woven around a very creative idea. The eroticism that goes hand in hand with the spell, sacrifices and blood, this story is a well of sensuality thick with passionate hunger and power that consumes the human mind.
I liked it. I found it enthralling and exotic. A part of me wanted Katari to succeed, another dreaded that success, and I was right to believe that it would be a bloody one when the time would come.

As for the pair itself, while the chemistry between them was heavy and had me charmed, it somehow faltered at the final scene of the claiming. It was hot, very much so, but still I found it a bit bland at the very end.

Nevertheless, this story is quite worth it and I definitely recommend it to those who love Inkas’ mythology and godlike characters.

Product Link:  http://www.extasybooks.com/family-bonds/

Review: This is a pretty good book, yet it is not as long as I would like. It has such a great story line that amazes me. Liam and Travis are mates, who at one time had a hard time being allowed to stay together. All because of Travis’s special daughter, Hannah. Hannah is four and has the ability to see the wolves inside of each shifter.

I love how they are so protective to each other and to Hannah. They have so much love and passion for each other, that it makes you want what they have. I for one would love to be the receiver of what they feel for each other. This is what I would call a lovey dovey story kind of sappy and touching.

To understand this story better you would need to read the series in order. It makes it easier to figure out the bits and pieces that seem to be missing, if you were just reading this on its own. The sex between them is tender, loving, and so dang hot. They can’t seem to stand to be apart even for a small bit of time, but when they get together it is smoking hot.

Even if there aren’t a lot of sexual parts in the book, you can just tell by the way they react to each other. The way they glance at each other and cannot seem to keep their eyes off each other. The caring way they are with Hannah shows that they are wonderful parents and their protective reactions when they think she can be hurt. I really liked the way the story unfolded.

Corey’s had his heart broken in the past and vowed never to go down that road again, sticking to one-night stands only. It’s a lonely way to live but it’s better than the soul crushing devastation he’s felt previously. When he meets Ethan Corey does the only thing he can in order to protect his heart, he runs.

Ethan won’t give up his chance at love and a home that easily though, and will a costly mistake cause the entire pack to be put in danger?

Review: This story is part of a series and is best read in order. Ethan has been in the Atherton pack for only a short time. He has hopes of finding his dream in the future but is happy for the time being and then his dream walks through the door. Corey has had his heart broken in the past and does not intend to fall in love again. But, fighting the mating pull is harder than he thought especially when his mate is pulling out all the stops to woo him. Ethan knows that they can be blissfully happy together but first he has to convince Corey to give him a chance, even when it seems that fate is putting obstacles in their path.

So we meet two head strong shifters who are both determined to have their own way, it makes for an interesting story with some heart searching but with little angst. Ethan has been alone for many years and has only ever wanted his own family, he looks forward to the day he will meet his mate and is so happy when he finds him in his new pack. Corey doesn’t want to find love again, his last attempt left him heartbroken, and he knows he wouldn’t survive another failed relationship, so when he meets his mate he does everything in his power to ignore the man even as his wolf strains his control. When the two men come to an agreement it is with hope on one side and doubt on the other.

I did enjoy this story and loved the dance between Corey and Ethan as they both try to get their own way. The story really is mainly about their relationship dance and the gaining of trust. But, it also has Tommy and Ben as they come to the end of their pregnancy. While I liked both Corey and Ethan, I found Ethan to be too confident and aggressive in his pursuit of Corey, yes, they were mates and Corey was trying to deny their bond but Ethan overrode what Corey wanted and, to me, became creepy in his pursuit. Corey is heart sore and doesn’t trust that he won’t be hurt again so you can understand him being wary even with his fated mate, there should a been a gentle courtship (yes Ethan did know why Corey was wary) to suit the situation.

There’s lots of sexual tension and some humorous situations, we also see some diva action from Tommy and Ben losing it, the threat that comes to the pack doesn’t seem to be that bad in the grand scheme of things, but carelessness could bring deep trouble.

I recommend this if you enjoy shifters finding their true mates and having to work for it, learning to be patient and accepting what you can get, accepting love and opening your heart, and giving the man, you come to love a chance.

Review:  Noah King has been in love with Jesse Salvatore since the first time he laid eyes on him. As the youngest Salvatore brother, and a human, he’s rarely left alone and strictly forbidden to date Noah who is a shifter. Jesse is a former Navy SEAL and no stranger to danger. He is beyond fed up with not just his brothers but Noah as well treating him as if he’s made of glass. Over the years, Jesse and Noah have managed a few stolen moments and when they finally kissed, sparks flew, like literally… the lights were flickering, and sparks were flying. Recent attacks by the rogue werewolves have brought them dangerously close to Jesse and the team now knows that they, the rogues, have targeted Jesse.

It takes a real man to admit when he’s wrong, and Justice Salvatore is real big man! With his attention already torn watching after the young human that has caught his eye, Skylar, he asks Noah to protect Jesse. With the assistance of an unpredictable ally, Noah and Jesse go into hiding. The journey they take isn’t just about self-preservation and protecting Jesse, it’s a journey of self-awareness as well. Both men learn more about each other as individuals and as a couple in just a few short days than they have in all the years they’ve known each other. And Jesse’s true nature is revealed when Noah is in mortal danger.

Can I just say it’s about damn time that we, fans of this series, got us some Jesse and Noah love! I have been rooting for this couple for about six books now I think. And let me just say, once these two get started, I don’t think even the fates could have stopped them. After all, they have a couple of years of pent-up sexual frustration to deal with. Again, Gasq-Dion managed to grab onto something fresh and add it to the storyline. Whatever pre-conceived notions you may have about these two as a couple, forget it, they will surprise you.

As per all the previous books in this series, there is a cameo appearance from several beloved characters. But something a little different I’ve noticed in the last three books, the main couple has the majority of the focus. I like that little shift in the writing from Gasq-Dion. I hope she continues to evolve and bring exciting, fresh new characters and backgrounds to the stories. I thought that I would be most anticipating Justice for Skylar, and while I’m anxious for that coupling, I’m really really looking forward to Killian and Stone now as well. Of course, there is still the Jaxon and Elijah story, and Matty and Kane.

Review: Once again, Toni Griffin rocks my world. This series should be read in sequence, it’s just better that way.

This story about broke my heart with Jason’s story. He is so gentle, kind and a heart made of gold, and he just grabs your heartstrings. You can’t help but fall in love with him. And his mate Alex feels the same way. Alex is the alpha of his pack and treats his mate as if he is the most special person in his life, which of course he is as he should be. You can’t help but fall in love with him and the way he is so tender with Jason.

This book is so full of love, pain, and sadness, but the love will win all the way around. The sex is so passionate and truly hot. Even with the danger out there waiting for Jason, you can tell the Alex will protect him with his life. It will keep you spellbound and on the edge of your seat.

I am so glad to have found this series as it shows me that true love will heal all wounds. I am very glad to have this book in my library and cannot wait to add the others to it.

Review: I have always loved Charlie Richards’ stories, but this book made me remember why. Most of the time her stories come off humorous and a bit quirky, and this book holds true to form. This story line and plot always keep me thinking, what’s gonna happen next. I could not put the story down and till I read the whole book.

I loved that Sebastian tries to always follow the rules of the council, but meeting his mate, a very human mate made it entirely different. At first, Dirk’s misgivings about Sebastian puts in a little crimp into Seb’s plan. But once he comes to realize his mistake, the gloves are off. They are so caring with each other, and the sex is very hot. Dirk’s fear of shape-shifters, has him fearing all paranormal. But, the way Sebastian treats him, makes his heart pound and his palms sweat. I loved the tenderness Sebastian shows Dirk.

This is a type of story, that you would just want to sit down in front of a fireplace holding your book, sipping wine, and relaxing. It has its humor and dangerous parts to the story. I love having this story and can’t wait to re-read it over and over again.

Review:  Jonas Brooks is an alpha and a shifter member of the elite Skull Blasters unit. He’s raised his son Jude, who is also a shifter, alone since his wife’s death. He never thought he was or would be attracted to another man. But ever since that unplanned, well-placed kiss from Jackson, he’s starting to re-think things. Jackson Murphy is also an alpha and a shifter among many within the team. He’s loved Jonas from afar for years, but Jonas continually pushes him away.

When the wolves within their packs get together and set their alphas up on a dinner date, Jackson is certain that Jonas is finally starting to let his guard down. It’s during their second date that Jonas succumbs to his obvious attraction to Jackson and the two have each other for desert! Soon they are sent on a rescue mission to Siberia after learning that John Quinton has been attacked. There they will learn that Fate is not always right and some bonds are meant to be broken.

I loved the push and pull in this book, there was no angst. Jackson knows what he wants and makes no secret of it, but he respects Jonas and doesn’t push. He wants Jonas to come to him on his own terms, and come to him he does. It’s not as long as some others in the series, so the events unfolded rather quickly, but the content wasn’t lacking in any way. For being a straight female, Gasq Dion has an unbelievable knowledge of the male persuasion… and an even better knowledge of how to bend them to her will and make them scream. Oh, wait, that was Jackson bending Jonas. My bad!!

EVERYTHING that I love about this author and her stories was there. Passion, emotion, humor, anxiety and yet another twist in Gasq Dion’s shifter world. The sex between Jackson and Jonas is electric, sort of like their attraction. There were even a few times in this book that I was full on snort laughing. Jackson and Jonas were both previously married to women so they go to their packs for assistance in the guy/guy department. Jonas talking to Jude about the ins and outs (pun intended!) of having sex almost made me piss myself! This book, this series, this author are a must read for fans of the m/m genre.

Review: This story is good. A little bit difficult to follow, but is still good. Kohl is a sweet and gentle man, who unearths a rare artifact that leads him to Talon. Talon is a strong and loyal eagle shifter who was attacked by a vampire, now a half vampire half shifter. Bound to a realm, until set free by true love.

This story has a great story line with love and the desire for freedom. The plot is good, but leaves me wondering a lot of about many things. It gives you the how part of Talon’s life, but leaves you guessing about Kohl’s life. It was just too fast, the love Kohl felt. It was not as believable as I would have liked. The spark between them was hot, as was the sex; however it just left me wondering. I did like Kohl and Talon though. They both come off sweet, tender and who could not fall in love with both of them.

I liked the story, but wished it had a little more to it.

Dang tricksy Wendigo? Wendigos?  Wendigi? Wendigorum? Dang tricksy Shifters. LOL.  Well done, Pelaam.  Well done.

Blurb: The devil covets more than his soul…

Six years ago, Logan Hart sold his soul to the devil to become the greatest bluesman of all time—and now the devil has come to collect.

The irony is that Logan squandered his gift. High on fame, money, and drugs, he ignored his muse and neglected his music. And despite escaping showbiz in a moment of clarity, it’s too late to redeem himself. All that’s left is to try to go out with some dignity. Alas, the prospect of an eternity in Hell isn’t helping much with that goal.

But Farfarello, the devil who bought Logan’s soul, isn’t ready to drag him down to Hell quite yet. He’s just spent six years working his ass off to whip a bluesman into shape, and he refuses to let that—or the opportunity for more sinful pleasures with Logan—go to waste.

Review: The first thoughts ringing in my head right after I finished this book were: Fantastic, brilliant, freakin’ amazing.
This is such a wonderful story, not your typical deal with the devil no, the author takes it a step (or several) further and makes your head spin while constantly keeping you on your toes.

Logan Hart is our character here and God could he be or have a more miserable life? Don’t think so and I got to feel that misery leaking from the words in this text right down on my toes. Poor guy is a musician, a bluesman, but his life wants him to waste away in a coal factory. His life lies in front of his bleak and uninspiring leading to one thing and one thing only. Die from unverified circumstances after withering in this miserable existence, or do something about it.
Farfetched? Yes. And half hoping, half disbelieving the truth of it, Logan sets to find the Devil at the Crossroad. He has a soul that refuses to waste away and burns with the passion for music, and Devils, well they collect souls right? Surely, he can have a good bargain.

This novella is really brilliant. In a very short space, it managed to spin my brain in all directions and make me feel lost along with its character. It takes you from the livid description of a miserable life, to the emptiness and hollow feelings of a rich yet uninspired one, only to end the trip in the agony and expectation of death. When time came for the Devil to collect his soul I simply adored every single line describing Logan’s feeling. His fear, his panic, his whole reasoning, and finally his acceptance, I got to experience all of it along with him, just as I got to be shocked and surprised from the turn of events.
When the Devil came, I simply had to stop a bit and ask myself why? Why did Farfarello do what he did? I mean the explanations he gave were certainly logical, but then again why bother?

Whatever the reasons, what follows is maddening, carnal, unapologetically hot sex, it was part of the contract after all. The mixture of fear and surreal Logan had the residue of panic and the resignation to his fate made the encounter to be even more intense than it already was. Farfarello (I so dislike this name) was beyond hot, beyond sinful, beyond alluring. He really managed to rise as the ultimate ethereal creature into my mind’s eye while reading about him, and damn if I didn’t feel disappointed when the story ended.

Logan’s story is really a wonderful one, one that makes want to look deep down your own soul a bit, set your priorities, makes you think twice before you open your mouth, and ask/demand whatever. The saying “careful what you wish for” comes alive in this book and at times makes you laugh bitterly at how vain we humans really are, how easily we let go our truest dreams in favor for illusions.
This story deserved the whole five hearts from me for a most enjoyable afternoon, and the bit of self-reflection it gave me. However, I wish this were a series with Farfarello as a constant. I cannot bear to part with him, and his mysterious alluring story calls like a siren to me.

Strongly recommended!

Review: The first line of the blurb says it all in one point. With all great sacrifices for love, there must be consequences. The author has once again written a truly gifted story. I loved the story altogether. The plot was intense and exciting. The danger, Brendan puts himself in just to save his mate, kept me on the edge of my seat. Ripley, who didn’t even know what he was forced to learn and accept in such a short time, was terrifying and sad. They fell for each other in such a way that was loving and very wild. The sex between them was explosive. The dangers all around them, what with hellhounds and the feral parts of them, made each one of them even more protective of each other.

This story has a very good plot to the story, what with (and who could live without it) love, danger, excitement and a touch of fear. I was attracted to Brendan, because of his tender heart and desire to help his mate overcome most of the feral parts of himself. With Riley, it is his innocence and yet there is this rough and tough side of him that you see. Their feelings are so strong and yet heart breaking with what they will need to learn to live with. This story will grab you and make you wish you were there to help them and protect them. To be able to feel the love that they have for each other, you know that is what you would want to feel each time you were snuggled up to your lover. I am honored to have this story in my library.

Thommie’s Review: 3½ Hearts

Oh my, the second installment of Moon Compound Series comes back with Brendan and finally that character took a bit of solidity in my mind. I was having a bit of an issue with his “I’m-not-good-enough” attitude in the previous book. As it is, Brendan continues to believe that for most of this book as well but things drastically change when he’s forced with life-long mourning or find a solution to his problem.

What problem is that? At this point I feel I should make it clear that this book is a part of series best read in order. So if you’ve read the first book you already know that it ends with a feral being admitted to Moon Compound and that the moment he lays eyes on Brendan and vice-versa thing get crazy. It is important to stress here that this author has a big talent for making thing intense and relying that tension at the reader as well. We get to see and feel how the feral and Brendan deal with the first time they see each other, how Brendan reacts and the enormity of the situation that has to fated mates finding each other only to face doom shortly. As I mention on the review of the first book, despite the fact that these shifters deal with “fated” mating, it does seem as a lot of work and things don’t get all sugary, easy, and colorful when “magic” happens. On the contrary here we deal with agony, bone deep agony.

A feral has a very short life span, not because they are weak, on the contrary they have exquisite power, but because they don’t care about pain, they have no notion of sanity, and they mostly end up causing extreme damage to themselves to the point of no return in their frenzy.

Imagine finding your mate in such frenzy eyes, on a person ruled by madness and with no cure. Imagine finding your soul-mate only to find out that there is no future for you, not being able to talk to him, not even knowing his name. What would you do?

And here is the point that Brendan’s character and strength come forward. His determination not to lie down and take what fate throws him, but to fight for what could be his. His recklessness is admirable when matched with his cause and the results are stunning. The turn this story took was fantastic, the possibilities it opened for future installments, endless. What take place are a series of events, dipped in blood and passion. Berserk takes a new meaning and I absolutely loved it. The bloody fights that came with the hellhounds (what you thought they were gone?) call to my violent soul and made me love this book all the more.

Even as all hell broke loose with the demons fighting werewolves, Brendan and his mate going berserk and being spectacular, the author makes us gasp with a surprise that is in itself horrifying. I can almost taste and see what is to come and how the hellhounds will feature in the future. We got a glimpse of the lore and how the shifters and demons they’re fighting came to be, what their past is, and that promises for a fantastic series I absolutely cannot wait to inhale.

Now all the above sound nice and good, but there was this little thing that managed to damp my enthusiasm and let me somehow down. For me this book ought not to be a novella, this pair deserved more space, more relationship development and the hasty, rushed way Ripley was introduced left me wanting. This book could easily have been a fiver for me if only the relationship between them two was allowed the time it needed. The confusion, the emotions, and the passion needed time to bloom, and we (the readers) needed to space to take it in and actually feel those emotions as well, because as it is the rolled over me and didn’t manage to make the strong impression they had the possibility to.

Overall though I loved the second book of the series and I’m literally bouncing up and down in anticipation of the third. Strongly recommended!

Review: This book is part of a series and must be read in order. Simeon is a mountain lion shifter and part of the Underground working to break the choke-hold that the Glitnir councils has on all paranormals, when he meets Asher, the half blood demon, his attraction for the sexy blood demon flairs. Asher is a blood demon and is a slave and a warrior. He keeps his family connections secret. When his half-brother Phin asks for his help, he doesn’t know if he can take the chance, especially when he has an annoying mountain lion shifter with him. Together Simeon and Asher have to convince the mountain lion guild to join them against the elves who are trying to take over the throne, and to give the blood demons their freedom. But will Asher’s and Simeon’s attraction prove to be a distraction from what is important to the Underground and the freedom of the paranormals?

Well, well, well, we go further afield in this addition to the Supernatural Bounty Hunters series by entering the Second Kingdom and discovering just how far the Giltnir council rot has spread. Simeon is a character that has you wondering if he ever cared about anything other than his problems because his complete disregard when he first meets Asher has you wanting to slap him, but he does redeem himself quite nicely. Asher has every right to be aloof, with the fear of what could happen if anyone ever discovered who his father is hovering over his head and the treatment of Blood demons, it is no wonder that he tries to keep Simeon at arm’s length.

We see some changes beginning in this story and the progression of the overall storyline throughout the series is moving forward at a very nice pace, the threads connecting the different species is getting stronger and the Underground movement is gaining force. With this story we have some exciting developments that effect both Simeon and Asher, we see a desperate attempt to stop a usurper from taking over the Elven throne and the Felines are pushed to action, but the best thing in this story has to be their relationship that starts out rocky, but it won’t be denied.

Both Asher and Simeon are great characters and their relationship moves quickly, it’s also very hot with both characters being passionate. The writing is good and flows pretty smoothly and we see characters from previous books so we can see how they are doing and the strain that their revolution is having on them. I must admit to enjoying this story and the way it is progressing, it is opening up further to include a wider range of species, drawing them together for a better future.

I recommend this story to those who love the paranormal in all its variety, great characters who make you react, a brilliant storyline that has far to go and a love that stands through danger and change and a great ending.

Review:  Short, Sexy and Steamy! My three favorite colors!!

Justin is in love with his business partner, Elliot. He refuses to act on his feelings though. He has a strict rule to never mix business with pleasure, or date immortals. Elliot is an incubus, a sex demon, who is also in love with Justin. In an attempt to quench his thirst for companionship, Justin takes the night off and heads to a club that will ‘cater’ to his needs. Elliot finds out where Justin is going and follows, determined to claim what he thinks should be his. Will Justin cave when he finds out the feelings are mutual? Or will he hold strong to his ‘rules’.

This short was a fast, fun read with sex appeal and intrigue. Just a skoch of suspense thrown into the mix kicked the story up a notch. When Justin finally succumbs to Elliot’s advances, you will find yourself hoping and praying that Justin decides to stay and not chalk their adventures up to a one-night stand. I highly recommend grabbing a copy of this one.

Blurb:   In a World where the Alpha are the law, Beta the order, and Omega the knowledge…the Delta have become the oppressed.

The night of Samhain is fast approaching, and for that one night a year, Gray and the last remaining Dire Wolves—amongst others—are entrusted with the protection of the veil between worlds, while it’s at its thinnest. Add in the threat of a new drug on the market, and they’ll have to work twice as hard to keep everyone safe. The last thing he needs is a sexy little Delta to save.

As a lowly Delta, Red Wolf shifter Ryan has never known peace. Cast away and unwanted, he is quickly taken captive and trained as a dancer at The Howling, a strip club in the worst part of Praeter. Hungry, abused, and kept in a drug-induced fog, his life is nothing. He is nothing but the orders and twisted demands of his captor. All that changes when he catches the scent of a wolf in the crowd.

Long ebony hair, eyes that can’t decide if they’re green or blue as they follow him on stage. Unable to stop himself, Ryan does the one thing guaranteed to earn him punishment. He touches the other wolf. Peace. For those few brief moments, the hunger, the pain, the torment…all gone. The price to feel that respite again, though, could very well be his life.

Review:  Gray is a Dire wolf shifter and the Alpha of his group of wolves that protect the veil between our world and someplace dark and sinister. On the eve of Samhain, when the veil is most vulnerable, Gray stumbles on his mate in a sleazy strip club, The Howling. His attempt to focus on the task at hand, saving the world from pure evil, is muddled with his need to protect his mate.

Ryan is a Delta in a world where Alpha, Omega, and Beta are the top of the food chain. Delta’s are discarded, unwanted, and abused. But not this Delta, not anymore! Gray and his pack mate Law (short for Lawson) have found their mates in Ryan and one of his fellow Delta’s being held captive at The Howling. When Gray is captured and tortured by the sick son of a bitch that holds the Delta’s captive, Ryan’s instinct to protect HIS mate kicks in. Can Gray, Ryan, and Law escape The Howling? More importantly, how can they protect the veil when they are prisoners?

I loved the concept of this book, the characters, and the storyline especially that little twist with the threesome. The end felt rushed though. All loose ends were tied up, but I almost felt short-changed with the ending. That being said, this was still a fun read. Fast paced, action packed and sexy.

Review: WoW.  It’s amazing exactly how much heat can be packed into 38 pages!  The story is very short and actually has two plotlines. The first story is about Bartholome and Rene and Rene accepting that he and Bartholome are meant to be together.  There are some small insecurities to overcome for said acceptance to occur. Once that acceptance happens, the second story begins which is about Bartholome’s best friend and what (no the what is not in error) appears might be his mate as well.  The author is clearly setting the reader up for the next story that will follow this one.

At first, I thought that this as a light BDSM sex romp type of book and then I realized that the author had snuck in a theme of belonging and creating your own family that you are comfortable with.  Not only do Bartholome and Rene find each other and begin their HEA, but also his BFF is apparently well on his way to doing the same.  The four will create their own pack and begin a new reality.  So there’s lots of steam as we have come to expect from a paranormal romance and a solid literary theme thrown in for good measure.
