Review: I really enjoyed this story despite not really knowing exactly what the characters shift into. The dissension between the Misiq and the Chinjoka tribes is deadly even though at one point they used to co exist. This rift is the result of a devastating plague that has decimated both tribes with the Misiq blaming the Chinjoka.

Gyam, Dhala and Askari were great characters with each unique gifts within their tribe. i found the castes to be intriguing and fascinating. The magical and paranormal aspects of the story were a huge plus for me. The battle scenes between the tribes were ferocious and deadly.

Ena, a misiq, was an enigma once he is rescued from certain death. I liked that he tried to protect the chinjoka at the most crucial of times. Even though he did put himself in danger of being found out more than once. The chemistry between these two couples was electric yet sweet.

I truly enjoyed this amazing detailed journey in a land so different from now. The lush landscapes to the rivers and streams plus the different customs of each tribe were fascinating. I am looking forward to reading more in this fantastic series.

Highly recommended.

Blurb: Murder, kidnapping and a disappearance. Trooper Rick Anthis could use a break. But he hopes it isn’t too late in coming.

Rick Anthis, a forty-five-year-old veteran of the Colorado State Police and his husband, Gabriel Thorkelson, a deputy sheriff in a nearby county, enjoy the peace of their suburban Boulder home, but the neighborhood’s tranquility is shattered by three rapid-fire gunshots. The pair’s quick reaction allows Rick to witness the abduction of his eight-year-old buddy Jacob, by his father.

In their quest to find the boy, the clues are sparse and time is of the essence since Jacob is diabetic, a condition Gabriel is far too familiar with. A search of the father’s apartment yields nothing more than an old hiking map that narrows the search down to a few hundred square miles. Rick and his CSI team are on the hunt, but with every bit of progress they make, it seems they are thwarted, especially when Gabriel turns up missing.

This is a second edition, previously published through a different publisher.

Review: Fair warning that if you can’t handle domestic abuse, then this might be a bit touchy for you.  It actually is more than abuse but you can tell from the blurb.

Rick and his husband Gabriel are both police officers, just in different sections.  Rick is a veteran from the Colorado State Police and his husband is a deputy sheriff.  They live in a beautiful location that is shattered when a young mother is murdered and her child is abducted.  Now it would be a normal case for our two sexy men, if that child was not only their neighbor but their little buddy.  Not to mention he and Gabe share the same condition, they are both diabetic’s, so they need to find him soon.

With that, there is another crime as well.  For such a short story it is action pact and very detailed.  I was surprised at how much was in this story and definitely would be looking out for more stories from this author.  It was one of the best I have come across and fell in love with our guys and that little boy.  Jacob rocked the story.

I enjoyed reading it and would definitely recommend this story to all.

Blurb:  Nash Gallo and Luke Meyers seem like complete opposites on the surface. Nash is a city boy from Atlanta, while Luke is a rancher from rural Oklahoma. Nash is covered in tattoos and piercings, while Luke is self-conscious about his muscular, hairy body. Luke doesn’t have much sexual experience with other men, while Nash has plenty to go around.

But both men are lonely, and neither of them has ever been in love.

They also both have secrets. For Luke, it’s his shame over an affair with a local closeted and married man, something Nash accepts. Will Luke be as tolerant of what Nash is hiding—his job as a prostitute back in Georgia?

A week-long vacation on Luke’s ranch and the idyllic landscapes surrounding it gives both men the chance to relax and explore the attraction growing between them. But can the budding relationship survive secrets and small-town prejudices? As they search for the place where their lives might intersect, Nash and Luke risk far worse than broken hearts.

Review: This is listed as a western but is definitely a romance.  When I first picked this book it was the title that caught me.  I had not even looked at the cover, so I was thinking man in a uniform, but boy was I wrong.  Then I found out that it was listed as western and almost put the book back down.  Can you imagine how wrong that would have been, because this story was more then what I expected in many ways.

Nash is a hooker in Atlanta who has had a very hard life.  Kicked out by his father, he did the only thing he could do to survive.  However as he got older, he knew that it was going to get him killed.  Especially after ending up in the hospital.  He had been chatting with a sexy cowboy in Oklahoma and damn if the man didn’t invite him on down.

Luke is a rancher and pretty much vanilla.  He has loved talking to Nash on the computer and couldn’t wait to meet him.  He had not expected a man with a lot of tattoos but damn the man was hot.  Luke had no real experience with sex, but Nash rocks his world.  Then he finds out what Nash truly did.  If you want to know what happens, read the book.

It was an entertaining story that caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end.  I was kind of shocked since I have not had the pleasure to read any stories by this author before but let’s just say I had a blast with it.  Now I am not sure if I would read a true western but this one definitely was hot and very yummy.  There is even danger involved and some surprises for our guys.

It was a fun book and I would definitely recommend it.

Review: Keith Walker is NOT a fan of Christmas, and he’s in a relationship where his Boyfriend has a negative look on everything to do with Keith. The only thing that makes Keith’s days bearable, is getting his coffee and seeing Austin. His coffee Barista.

Leaving work early one day to go home, completely changes Keith’s life in a way that he never expected. This is the first story from this author and I absolutely love this short story. I however felt like thumping Keith’s boyfriend for the emotional abuse that he gave Keith.

Blurb: After achieving the impossible and releasing their people from the Varas slavers, Anan and Terja, a spellweaver and spellspinner, start the arduous journey back to their homeland. A winter trek across the grasslands is dangerous enough, but the traitor, Xain, is tasked with recapturing the slaves, and failure will mean his death. As added insurance, the Varas High Regent hires a Triad of legendary Ubica assassins and assigns a full regiment of his personal guards, along with their captain, to the task. Their mission is clear: recapture the escaped Talac slaves destined for the Varas pleasure houses—and the bed of the High Regent—at any cost.

The newly freed Talac travel toward their homelands with the full knowledge they are likely being pursued. The flight westward is fraught with new and unexpected dangers as Anan and Terja struggle to save their tribe. The battle for shelter, food, and a way to defend themselves becomes an all-consuming task, but they are reminded by the avatars of their gods that all is not as it appears.

Review: Anan and Terja are determined to reach the Kuri homelands after their escape from Varas slavers. The journey is long and dangerous. The two must protect the survivors they rescued while battling the Varas chasing them.

The Varas have a triad of Ubica working with them as well as Xian. This causes much stress for the group as they try to thwart the progress of the Varas. I really liked how smooth and well written this story was. It did not pull punches when it came to battle scenes either with the Varas or other creatures.

Fraught with danger this book definitely grabs hold and does not let go until the very end. There are many twists and turns as well as heart stopping scenes. Action, suspense, drama, and mystery are throughout. I’m looking forward to the next book to see what else lies in store for the main characters.

I loved this book and highly recommend it but would advise reading them in order as this one picks up where the last leaves off and the end implies there will be more to come.

Blurb: A heart can live a lifetime in eight seconds.

Ever since his father caught him with another boy and threw him out at the tender age of sixteen, Dustin Lewis has been fighting his way up the national bull-riding rankings. He’s on the brink of qualifying for the National Finals when he draws Diablo, a notoriously rank bull—and the ride goes bad.

When bullfighter Shane Rees frees Dustin from the rigging of the same bull that nearly destroyed his face, he comes dangerously close to dropping his guard. Shane knows the potential consequences of being gay in a sport loaded with testosterone-overdosed cowboys, and the resulting scars of mind and body have left him with little self-worth.

Their near-death-by-bull first meeting sparks an attraction that awakens every last one of their personal demons. Yet as the National Finals draws closer, so do they. But they’ll have to overcome emotional highs, near-tragic lows, and bone-crushing danger before love can bust out of the chute.

Warning: Contains man-on-man boot knocking, rawhide and raw emotions, badass cowboys and even badder-ass bulls. This ain’t your old man’s rodeo

Purchase Link: https://www.samhainpublishing.com/book/5321/drawing-the-devil

Review: Dustin was kicked out of his home when he was very young after being caught with another boy. Both his family and the boy would have nothing to do with him. He lived with his best friend Todd and became a bull rider with Todd. Dustin has ADD and is very hyper.

Shane is a bullfighter. He has many scars from his job. Some are very visible, like one across his face. He is gay and not closeted, though he doesn’t advertise it either. His job is saving cowboys from the bull. After saving Dustin, he finds himself very attracted to the young bull rider. They become good friends. Could a hot young man like Dustin want anything other than a one off from a scarred up man like Shane?

This story had a lot going for it. I have to say I never really connected with either character. I do however like that they are unique… One is visibly scarred one is dealing with ADD. I did like the storyline and plot. There is a lot of hot, down and dirty, raunchy sex in this story. For me it was a bit of a turn off, but I am not saying it was bad; it just wasn’t my cup of tea. I will say about halfway through the story really picked up and I am glad I kept reading. Overall, it is a good story.

If you like, bull riders, bullfighters, drama, down and dirty sex talk, hot man-sex and a really good friends to lovers romance, this is for you.

Blurb: Christmas is the worst time of the year to find yourself alone. Chris Moss, owner of a tree farm, knows this down to his bones as he makes his way through his first holiday season after losing his wife to cancer. When Wade Hart, an annual customer at the farm, visits, they find common ground: Wade lost his own longtime lover to a parting of ways and is lonely too. The constant, gentle companionship provides fertile soil for an attraction neither expects, but nurturing a new relationship is a tough proposition. With the encouragement of family and friends, Chris and Wade may yet find that a second love later in life can be just as fulfilling as the first.

Review: I loved this story!
I have a bit of a soft spot when it comes to stories with older guys, yes, but this one was so good that I believe even the twink-lovers will find this read just awesome.

Wade is feeling low doing his Christmas tree shopping alone. Yes, his relationship with his ex was on the down road for a long time now, but one simply can’t help but feel alone on holidays after a ten-year-old relationship is over. While whining his poor fate at Chris, the tree farm owner and good friend, Wade forgets that Chris can understand him better than he thinks. As a matter of fact, Chris points out that it could be worse, and that’s when it hits him that Chris’s wife of thirty-one years, Mary, died nearly a year ago.

This is how Wade starts offering his companionship as comfort to Chris and himself during the holidays as no one should be left alone, but as days and week pass them by, both men are surprised with the unexpected feeling and connection that start blooming between them.

I think this was such a great story, so down to earth with so many real feelings in it. The men’s portrayal was fabulous. Their fears, their hesitance, and the slow steps they take the ghosts of their previous relationships that can’t just leave like that. I thought I was looking down the road at some neighbor in real life, it felt so much alive, so true to reality with all the bittersweet emotions tangling in the air.

Yes, I loved it. I loved both men a lot too. I had a blast not reading about some hot twenty-something young thang… Nothing wrong with them, but I find older guy to be some kind of novelty in romantic books.

And that’s what this story is, a romance. A second chance at love with all that entails, from first awkward date to the first time they come together, and may I congratulate the author on the brilliant first time that didn’t happen for this couple. It was the cherry on top for me at how freaking believable every single event in this story was.

I loved it! Can’t say that enough. Have at it.It’s well worth the read.
