Review: This book is part of a series and should be read in order. Also coincides with the Angel Pack Series.

One thing I really like about both series is that they are not just about one mating. The reader also gets snippets from the other established matings, as well as other characters who are not yet mated. I like being able to revisit with those already mated and get a sneak peak of future stories to come.

In this book the full truth is finally revealed about why Ryland did what he did with Jesse as a child. Phenex is able to also tell his side of things. I really enjoyed the story about Phenex and Ryland. It was about time they got back together.

I really felt for Ryland. He did what he thought was right with the information he had. Things worked out differently than he hoped, but not due to his fault. That didn’t mean he didn’t feel guilt. Phenex was in no better a spot. They were so mislead. It was good that they were finally able to clear the air and make things right between them.

This book was also showed the evolution of Jesse and Micah. It showed not only Jesse’s growth of power, but also their relationship.
I must say this book was full of hot sex scenes. Not just with Ryland and Phenex, but also Jesse and Micah. These couples are seriously smoking hot with a nice little amount of kink thrown in.

And DAMN, Malachi is one evil bastard, and turns out he is not working alone. Yup, there is another fucktard helping Malachi. I really cannot wait to see what happens to these two when they finally get their asses kicked. Plus there was another little surprise cameo.

I enjoyed this addition to the Angel Pack world and look forward to reading future books. I really want to know what happens with Crew especially.

Review: I really wanted to read this book as soon as I saw the blurb. And I was not disappointed. It was cute and sweet and just damn adorable to read.

Jules is so innocent in life since he has been locked away all his life by his king father. But it turns out not for the reason he always was told. It takes a massive attack for him to be able to finally leave and learn about the world. But he is not alone because his protector Lem is by his side.

Lem is not so innocent, but there was still a hint of it with him. He has only know learning how to be a fighter and guardian of the royals. When he is assigned as Jules new bodyguard Lem slowly falls in love with the little prince.

This was a different type of book from Sean Michael. There was innocence in a lot of it with both characters. The sex was loving and sweet. Even as they explored each other and their feelings they were both learning and figuring things out about themselves.

I really did enjoy this book. It was fast paced and well written. It pulled me into the story and made me cheer the characters on. I couldn’t really ask for more.

Review: This book is part of a series and should be read in order.

Wow, this book had a lot of drama and angst going on. Matt’s history is rough to read about. He really did not have a good childhood at all. Because of that he has issues left over. Together he and Ingor have founds ways to deal with them. That includes a pretty much 24/7 BDSM relationship.

Things are going good for them up until Matt has a fall and suffers from a traumatic brain injury. That is when things start going seriously wacky. So much goes on and certain things happen that leave me confused and a little befuddled. Basically I was wondering how the hell these things even went down. Suffice to say I was pulled out of the book.

Things do finally get back on track with the relationship between Matt and Ingor. I really do like the relationship these two have. It is BDSM, but there is a great deal of love and caring to it.

I enjoyed a good part of the book. However the drama and angst with Matt’s past coming back to get him was a little much for me. It just did not feel needed with all the other things going on. It was also nice to see the other characters from the past two books show up and take part.

So overall it was an OK read and I still look forward to more in the series.

Review: This book is part of a series and should be read in order.

I really enjoyed this book. It was mostly fun and amusing to read.
Guy has such wicked sense of humor and hijinks. He gets into so much trouble with the things he does and just by opening his mouth.
Aric is cute and tends to be scared of his own shadow in the start. Honestly the way he deals with learning about the paranormal world is pretty funny. He has not had the best life, but he makes the most of it.

Bannock is the older more straight-laced type. He has been leading his tribe and raising his children. When finds out his has two mates he is not at first sure, but Guy and Aric definitely bring something to his life he was missing.

The three of them are very sexy and hot together. Their love scenes were on the burning side, just as I like them.

All three of them are completely different personality wise, but they manage to make it all work. And I love this series for that. The relationships are always interesting, the characters are a little wacky, and the sex is always hot.

I enjoyed this book a lot and look forward to more in the series.

Review: This book is part of a series and should be read in order. Also this is a spin-off of the Blaecleah Brothers series and takes place in the same town with characters from that series showing up.

Artie has had a rough life. He has been on his own since he was fifteen years old. His mother is a drug addict, and his stepfather is abusive. He was safer on his own. At least until his stepfather used Artie as a means to pay off a drug debt. And that is how Artie winds up bound in a trunk. This is also how he meets Dorian.

Dorian is a good guy playing a bad guy. He has been undercover for years. When he sees Artie in the trunk he knows he cannot leave him there. So Dorian takes a chance and takes Arite. But there is something about Artie and Dorian cannot get him off his mind. Even if he knows it would be the best thing for Artie.

This book moved fast. There is an instant and intense attraction between Dorian and Artie. The sex is hot and steamy. This two have a definite rollercoaster ride to their happily ever after. There is drama, betrayal, violence, and overall love.

There was also a surprise visit from some old friends. I loved seeing the guys from the Special Operations series again.
Overall a fast paced and high-octane read.

Werewolves of Brooklyn

by

Brad Vance

Darien Mackey wasn’t looking for an adventure. For ten years, he’d been happy living in Brooklyn, working as a butcher in the same job, living in the same apartment, dating some “nothing-special” guys. Until one night his buddy Jacob talked him into taking ayahuasca, the soul-changing drug. And Darien had a vision…of a wolf, its all-too-human eyes on him, its paws on his chest, its enquiring mind in his own…

Darien Mackey is changing. He’s more confident, more assertive, hungrier, hornier. And his world is changing around him – his job, his home, his beloved Mechanic’s Library all falling victim to the predations of unscrupulous developers, bent on demolishing the old Brooklyn he loves and replacing it with a forest of condos. But he’s no longer a passive observer of his own life, and as this thing, this power, grows inside of him, he resolves to fight back, to preserve the way of life he loves.

And he’s not alone in the fight. The Lipsius Preservation Society of Brooklyn stands ready to assist in the battle, even though it seems like a bit of a joke to Darien, with its King and its Duke, Marquess, Earl and Viscount.

But there’s nothing funny about his growing attraction to Albeus Finley, King of this mysterious Court. And when slumlords and condo-mongers start to die mysterious, violent deaths at the hands of savage animals, Darien begins to realize that something is afoot in Brooklyn – something supernatural.

And it’s afoot in him, too…

Blurb: Sometimes life gives you something magical – if Drill can rescue a dragon that is.

The Old Tavern Club is a front for a shifter rescue organization. The BDSM club works well in keeping the owner’s true purpose secret, but when Pirou makes an unusual rescue, it might just be beyond the club’s purview. So he calls in Drill, the owner’s brother.

Drill has never even heard of a dragon shifter before, much less seen one, yet that’s exactly what the beast in the club’s basement looks like. As he works with the dragon, he finds all his instincts insisting that this is the sub he’s been looking for.

Can Drill and the dragon rescue a happy ending for themselves?

Review: This was just damn adorable. That is all I can think to call it. Yes it was sexy too, but really Az and Drill together are just damn adorable.

This was a cute and sweet little story about a dragon that was captured by slavers and rescued by a shifter organization that runs out of a BDSM club. Love that part as well. Az is young and not use to humans or their ways, so he is scared.

Drill is the owner’s brother and a wolf-bear hybrid. He takes one look at dragon Az and knows he will do anything for him. Even more so when he turns into a man.

The sexual content was lighter here for a Sean Michael book. But not any less sexy. I kind of liked how things were not rushed. Drill was willing to wait and teach Az slowly.

I really like the concept for this series. So far the first book has captured my attention and left me wanting to read more.

So I am definitely looking forward to more in this series.

Review: Oh my god the sugar rush on this book is high, it is that damn sweet and cute. I simply loved the two main characters Quinn and Spencer.

Quinn is a SWAT officer who has been injured on the job. He is big and bad with a grumpy attitude. Spencer is a sweet geek who has noticed Quinn since the day he moved next door to him. Not that Quinn has noticed him before. That all changes when Spencer worms his way into Quinn’s apartment and heart with brownies and other delish foods.

Really this was a well written and fast read. It gives two likeable men who are very different but somehow mesh perfectly together. This was funny and just damn enjoyable.

Review: This book is part of a series and should be read in order.

I enjoyed this book. I liked the two main characters Harley and Nathan. Both were interesting and worked well together. I liked how all the prior charterers keep making appearances, especially Jesse. So it was a likable book because the characters were all good.

However, throughout I felt rushed. Everything happens between Nathan and Harley so damn fast my head spun. There were a few moments of what the hell for me. So although I liked the two men, I just did not like the pacing of the book.

Plus there were issues with some of the storyline that just made it seem a little off. Like with Nathan’s sister and the whole drama there, and what happened at the end with her. I just didn’t see or feel the need for it and it kind of messed up the story for me a bit.

So overall a decent read with a few too many extras thrown in and not enough time with the main characters.

The title of the book says it all. Carson and Ryan have been appearing in this series for a while as children and young teenagers. I always suspected they would tune out to be mates. I didn’t expect it happen the way it did, but I did enjoy their story. And I loved Riley, just so damn adorable.

This was a good fast paced book. I did kind of wish Carson made Ryan suffer a little more. But Carson is really too nice a guy to do that. Even if Ryan did deserve it. And let me say Carson and Ryan together are very sexy and just a little kinky.

I do like this series and this addition to it was long due in coming. I enjoyed this little read and look forward to more.

I especially want more of Maurice and little Riley. Just saying.

Review: This book is part of a series and should be read in order.
This book was not really the same as the others. There was no instant love in this mating. There was a lot of hurt feeling really in the first half of it. Carter’s hurtful and cold words to Abner when they first met has caused a ripple effect in their mating. Now Abner is the cold and hurtful one.

So for the first half of the book I was leaning toward pissed off at both Carter and Abner. Instead of talking the two of them just kept hurting each other. Both in the way they talked and the type of sex they had.

I think the second half of the book was much better. More is discovered about the “coming”. The intrigue is getting deeper also as those inside the council turn to the dark and try to destroy those that make the rules.

Once Carter and Abner get their shit together things are definitely better. The sex improves and they are actually talking and learning about each other. But yeah the first part of the book left me very unsatisfied.

This book just left me feeling a little blah. The writing was good, things moved at a good pace. But the beginning just kind of ruined it for me even when things improved between Carter and Abner.

Blaze seemed to be the focus of this book. He had several things he needed to work through.

The first is being a father.

He has no idea how to do it and makes mistakes along the way when the child is born that alienates Aden. To lead this even farther events occur that leads him to hurt one of his mates. He goes off by himself and while distracted by his own emotional issues, gets captured himself in trouble with no way out.

Let me just say Madden is totally bat shit crazy. The things he plans to do to reach his goals are really sickening. Hell the things he does manage to do are sickening. Anyway, enough to say he left me feeling icky.

I do love the way Victoria Sue writes. There is so much descriptive wording that really allows me to visualize things as they happen. I really feel like I get pulled into the story as I read them. Even if I hate what is happening, I can still feel the characters emotions.

The sexual elements were very well done. And it was actually beautiful at times the love the mates show to each other. There was tenderness and caring in their touches. I really love how they all are together.

Throughout the book I never got the feeling of how everything was going to end. And I was totally shock. It left me reeling. I so did not see it coming. It left me feeling heartbroken. Even after it was all said and done and good things come of it, I still felt like something was missing.

I do appreciate the fact that I was left with the feeling that there is more to come. And that this is perhaps not the final ending. I really hope so.

I will be looking forward to the next book in the series.

Review: Wow. Just Wow. I never actually know what I will get when I start reading a book by JC Wallace. But I know one thing, I am in for one hell of a ride. Damn did this deliver.

Jerricho, aka Jerry is twenty-four years old and still a virgin. Due to the traditions of his people he will be marrying the man of his parents’ choice in less than a year. A man he has not met nor loves. Not that it really matters. Except it does. Jerry has fallen in love with human Rex.

I felt for Jerry. He has spent years rebelling in any way he can. But he knows that the time will come when he will have little choice. Finally after meeting his “finance” for the first time, Jerry makes a decision to at least lose his virginity the way he wants and with someone he cares about. And that opens a whole hell of a lot trouble for everyone.

This book went all over the place, but in a good way. There is so much going on. So many twists and turns. There is a lot to keep up on. Like who to trust, who is a bad guy? Those Jerry and Rex thought they could trust turn out to be their enemy. Those they know are enemies turn out to be unwilling victims. Everything was topsy-turvy.

And the sex. Damn, I did not see that hotness coming. Jerry and Rex together were not what I was thinking they would be. No, they are a hell of a lot more steamy than that.

JC Wallace has created an interesting, unique, and intriguing world. The history of the Anzuni is a definite new spin on the demon myth.

The characters are well-developed, not just Jerry and Rex, but also the secondaries. For such a long book it was still very fast paced.

I found myself drawn into the story from the start and could not put it down until the very end. I needed to know what would happen next. Would they escape, would they be rescued, who would turn into an ally or enemy next? These were all things I would ask I was read.

Now I really hope there is a follow-up, because there are some situations left open-ended, that I would like to see explored and resolved.

This rollercoaster ride is well worth the read.

Review: This book is part of a series and should be read in order.
I have to say I think this one has been my favorite in this series so far. There is just something so heartbreaking about Flynn’s circumstances that drew me to him. He has been suffering since his twin sister death years ago. Something that was never his fault, but his parents made sure he felt was his. Now he is supporting his mentally ill mother and younger sister.

I found myself completely cheering on Jax as he made Flynn his. Flynn so deserved someone who would look out for his best interests and take care of him. Not to say Flynn was weak because honestly he was not. To have been able to function and do what he needed for long takes a strong person.

Jax was the perfect partner for the type of man Flynn is. Jax was able to get Flynn out of his shell and really open up to life. He was able to make Flynn stronger and accept what happened, and also what he needed to do. Flynn literally blossomed under Jax.

This was well written and moved at a steady pace. It was a sweet read that was heartwarming in the simplicity of how the two men are drawn together and make a life for themselves. Plus the hot sex didn’t hurt anything.

I enjoyed this lovely story.

Review: This book has both good and bad about it.
What I did like was that they were both men that have been hurt by others before. They finally have a shot with each other to have the best of both worlds. They each want a lover and to be able to have a D/s relationship…all with the same person.

They each have someone who understands and will meet their needs, all of them. And the sex between them was decently hot and sexy, but I really expected a little more BDSM element than it had.

This book starts in what feels like almost the middle of the story. When it begins Andrew and Roddy have actually been seeing each other regularly for two years as Dom and sub. There has never been actually sexual intercourse between them.

However after Roddy is seriously feeling the tension from his job as a news producer for the local news he goes to see his Dom, Master Vegas after several weeks. Once there they finally break past their boundaries and have sex. After that things move in at rollercoaster pace.

There is no back story to really explain how the two of them have started to fall for each other. Nothing to explain why Andrew was suddenly willing to change the rules after two years. It just jumped to let’s do this and have a relationship. I felt like I completely missed something.

Plus there are a few other things that I questioned happening. It all left me a little underwhelmed when it was all said and done. However I did still manage to enjoy the story since the two men did work well together.

So not a perfect book, and if you look past certain things, both Andrew and Roddy are nice guys who manage to find someone to spend their lives with.

Review: For a book so short it had a surprising amount of depth and emotion. Robin and Hendrix are men from different generations that find a commonality between themselves. They are both broken in their own ways.

They each have very different ways of dealing with their issues. And those differences caused a bit of angst for both men.
The writing was good. The author had a bit of a balancing act as Robin would have flashbacks of his past.

But I also felt it was missing something to give it that little extra impact. I can’t put my finger on it, I just know something was not there I was looking for.

Review: Adem and Corun had an affair when they were both young men. Then Corun went off to war and Adem found out later that Corun was dead. For next thirty something years Adem went on living and working for the crown. After a horrible attack, Adem is suffering what I would term PTSD. When he is forced to his country estate he learns that his lost love is not dead after all.

Adem and Corun have the chance to fall in love all over again. And it was sweet and really kind of adorable. Corun has lived a lifetime as a soldier and is able to help Adem begin to deal and heal from the trauma he suffered.

I this a pretty neat little story. It had political intrigue, some action, and a lost love found. It also shows that bravery comes in all types of packages.
