Review: I found this a fun refreshing story. I love T.A. Chase. The author has a way with characters.

This is sort of a Cinderella story formula, middle-class-boy, Ion, has crush very rich, hot sexy boss Adrien. Adrien has a secret crush on Ion too. The get together and love blooms. It does move fast. I mean 0-60 fast but for some reason it worked for me. The story is interesting very sexy and fast paced. I was to the end before I knew it.( I will say I was a bit surprised at the abrupt ending and would have liked a bit more conclusion, but I got over it and picked up the next book. You should probably have it handy.

I loved these men. Actually, I loved everyone in the book. Ion is hard-working and sweet. Adrien is successful but not so caught up in his riches that he looks down on others. He is perfect. (Hey, it’s a book we can have perfect.) I even loved Patrick, Ions best friend and Adrien’s personal assistant. He is fresh and flamboyant and I wanted more of him. Adrien’s Parents were great too, though Ion’s were a bit off.

So if you are looking for a sweet, fun, charming story, with some hot sex to fill an hour or so I strongly suggest this (and book two also).
If you like expensive suits, mail-boys with big ideas and crushes on boss, hot sexy multimillionaires, family ties, great friends and some hot mansex this book is for you!

Blurb: Anything goes during Carnival, and two men are about to discover just how hot the nights can get in Rio.
A long-time member of a samba school, Pablo knows that Carnival in his hometown of Rio de Janeiro is always hot, and the tall, sexy man he hooks up with during the festivities is even hotter. He usually doesn’t go back for repeats, but something about Diego has him working harder than he ever has to try to meet up again.

Diego travels all over the world on the pro beach volleyball tour, but has found that the sexiest man he’s ever met lives right there in Rio. After a few false starts, they finally seem to hit a groove, but as time goes on, ghosts from Pablo’s past begin to affect their present.

It’s tough being the partner of a professional athlete, competing with travel, fans, and training for their limited time. Pablo’s always been let down by people who found it easy to leave him behind. Is he prepared to accept what Diego can offer?

Review: From the very beginning, I liked Pablo and Diego…a lot. I love how they met when neither was looking for anything more than a one-night stand. What they found was so much more than that. Their love grew over time. Whether they were texting each other or calling on the phone you see “see” a connection developing between these two men.

They had to learn to go to each other with their problems not a friend they have had for years. Building that trust was crucial and they did it very well. There was a great deal of lovemaking in this book. I could have said sex but not long after they, “hooked up” you could see it was more than sex for these two guys. I rooted for them to have a HEA and I was thrilled with how the authors worked it out. Here is to hoping Thi, Pablo’s best friend since his teens finds his HEA.

This is the sixth book in the International Men in Sports series. However, it is a standalone book. But I suggest, if you can, to get them all. The three I have now read are all wonderful stories.

Blurb: two men, two very different sports, and one rink—sharing ice has never been so hot.
Olivier ‘Big Bang’ St Pierre is back in his hometown while he recovers from being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Hockey’s a contact sport—still, he didn’t count on the locker room being dangerous. As a professional hockey player, he also didn’t count on it being hard to find ice time. But when a rink shuts down unexpectedly in a winter-sport-crazy town, even being a big name won’t help as people scramble for whatever they can get.
The first time Ethan Campbell hears from the local hockey legend he knew as a kid, Olivier manages to insult both his family’s rink and his new sport—curling. So he’s not exactly receptive when Olivier shows up in person to plead his case. He makes a sarcastic offer…and is shocked when Olivier takes him up on it. Ethan’s bad experience with hockey had left him cold. But soon he and Olivier are burning up the ice.
Ethan is tied to his town, job, and family, while Olivier will be going back to Chicago to rejoin his team as soon as he’s able. It can’t possibly last…can it?

This is book five in the International Men of Sports series. See the full series listing here
Review: I really enjoyed this story. Oliver is in need of a private place to practice, to try to get his knee back into shape after having had major surgery on it. Ethan’s family owns an ice rink facility that, due to the closing of a major one due to repairs, is overflowing with requests for ice time. Somehow, Ethan finds himself offering Oliver use the rink after hours. The fun soon begins thanks to Oliver’s obsession with learning to drive the Zamboni, much to Ethan’s amusement.

Soon time together becomes more than time on the ice and working Oliver’s leg out. Their feelings for each other are real and seem to complete each other. They found in each other that missing part and begin a romance that, given time and dedication will become the best it can be. Yes so there is sex on the Zamboni, countertop and in the office but that just adds to the already great chemistry between the two. Add in the possibility of a romance for Ethan’s sister Chelsea. Meeting Ethan’s parents and nephew and hearing about Oliver’s relationship with his parent’s rounds this story out very nicely. NOT to mention seeing into the world of NHL teams and what makes a person become an athlete in a sport that is very dangerous at times.

So I have no problem saying this…if you like hockey and sex and love all rolled into a great story…then buy this book!

Blurb: In 2134, the United States of America no longer exists as a world superpower. Americans struggle to keep from being completely conquered by their numerous and determined enemies. Scientists have begun to genetically engineer soldiers to fight the war in place of true humans. These men are stronger, faster, and more impervious to injuries. These soldiers are created in labs, and then once they’re birthed, they’re shipped to the compounds of the American Freedom Front where they’re trained exclusively to fight.

Baxter and Addison are two such soldiers. They’re from different compounds, but serve in the same unit. Baxter isn’t the most intelligent of the soldiers, and he knows it. His job is to kill the bad guys, and do nothing else. Addison, however, although he understands his place in the world, also yearns for more. He doesn’t want to be just a killer, but to have some other kind of life, and he’s discovered he wants that life to be with Baxter.

During the height of battle, when their unit decides to stop fighting and makes a desperate run for the border toward freedom into Mexico, Baxter and Addison quickly find they have only the certainty of their love to get them through the dangers they are about to face.(

Review: Hearts on the Line is a very different story for me. It is Sci-fi- futuristic and has action and adventure. It’s not that I don’t like sci/fi. It’s just not something I read a lot of. I read the blurb on this it and it sounded like something I would like. I loved it.
This story is set in the future and has a sort of post-apocalyptic feel. (Sorry folks, no Zombies). It is about a group of genetically engineered soldiers. These are men that are human, living breathing men, who have been developed in a lab to have superior strength, fighting skills, eat less, be stronger etc. The perfect soldier. There are two groups one with a bit more intelligence to be officers then there are the grunts developed for front line fighting, basically cannon fodder. Though it’s pushed aside, these men do have feelings and suffer pain. This part of the story really tugged on my heartstrings.

Baxter and Addison are the main characters. They are bio genetically created. Addison is the leader of his group of eight men. Baxter is his second in command. Baxter was injured the previous year and Addison had worried he would be put down, but Addison pulled a few strings to keep Baxter in his unit and by his side. Baxter meant more to Addison than just a good soldier. Baxter is Addison best friend and he couldn’t imagine life without Baxter. Baxter feels the same for Addison, except he doesn’t feel worthy of Addison since he is an officer and meant to move up and go places, Baxter cant. Can you see the romance already and the action?

Baxter and Addison’s group was moved into the front lines for a mission, both men can since some problems, not only is it dangerous enemy territory but now the Trues (full humans fear of being taken over by the GE( genetically engineered) so they have no problems pushing them into danger to try to get rid of them. (Cruel and heartless isn’t it?)
I think you see the basic story, it’s a group of GEs sent on a dangerous mission, they have a secret plan to try to find a better life and there is romance blooming between Baxter and Addison. There is also another sweet twist in the last section of this story that I found so sweet. Yes I am such a romantic and this one sent my romance meter pinging!

The world building isn’t bad. My only issue was that there is many codes used like GE (genetic engineered), AFF, etc. They are explained, but I kept forgetting what it meant, but it wasn’t a big deal. There wasn’t a lot of big unusual, hard to pronounce names, which I found great. That’s one of my biggest pet peeves in this genre so this was very easy to read.

The romance was beautiful, there wasn’t a lot of sex, but what there was is very well done, mostly off the page and I found it loving and sensual, very befitting for these two men. Addison and Baxter are on my favourite couples list for this year.

If you like futuristic worlds, A little science fiction, bio-engineered beings, soldiers, friends to lovers, sweet romance and sensual man-love, camaraderie, some twists and turns this is for you!

Blurb: Searching for a Thief accused of stealing something precious, Chal acknowledges it’s the Thief that he wants and is unwilling to give him up.

Being a Tramp on Beasor means Chal spends most of his time transporting items from other universes for his clients. Since Tramps are unaffected by the draining symptoms of flashing, they are perfect for retrieval missions as well. He’s watched two of his friends fall in love, and longs to find his own lover.

When he accepts a mission to flash to Earth, and retrieve a Thief who has stolen something important, Chal had no way of knowing his target might steal his heart as well.

Palmer wants to be left alone. He’s been used by the man who was supposed to be his friend, and forced to do things he didn’t want to do. When he flashes to Earth, Palmer hopes he can remain hidden and safe. Yet the moment a Tramp walks into the diner Palmer works at, he knows his life has taken a radical turn.

For better or worse, the Tramp and the Thief have to find out where the truth lies in the tangle of lies they’ve been given.

Review: This book is part of a series and best read in order. Chal is a Tramp. He is one of the most powerful of his kind and takes pride in his work. But when he is asked to do a job that seems hinky, he decides to get to the bottom of his suspicions and discovers the man he has been dreaming of. Palmer is a Thief and has finally escaped the clutches of a bent businessman, but the moment that the man he has been dreaming of walks into the diner on Earth to retrieve him he fears that his freedom has gone. Together Chal and Palmer must find if their love can survive what is about to be thrown at them.

This is a great story that has the world of Beasor as the main background with flashes to Earth for added excitement. Chal and Palmer are our main characters, Chal is a Tramp who can easily travel to other worlds and universes, when he is asked to do a retrieval job he becomes suspicious of the details when the client wants the Thief returned to him instead of reporting him to the Thief council. Palmer ran rather than be used to commit murder, he knows that Coldston won’t let him go and has fled to Earth to hide, meeting Chal throws him for a loop, but he is willing to trust the man won’t hand him over without getting to the truth and getting Palmer some help.

Chal is a Tramp who is really good at what he does and he always tries to be honest, coming across a situation like Palmer is in has him trying his best to be a champion and not just because he falls for Palmer hard. Palmer may be a Thief who needs rescuing but he is a man who is surprisingly strong-willed for his circumstances, meeting Chal just makes him that much more determined not to cave into Coldston’s demands. Together they make a great couple but they still have to navigate the council’s demands, so our delightful Beasor’s do have to live on hope and prayers for a time.

I have to admit to loving the Beasor world and its characters, there is just something wonderful about discovering a world that has magic and strict distinctions for each talent, being enfolded into the stories of simple people and their friends as they struggle with their love lives and the difficulties they face finding that love. Chal and Palmer are a couple where their bond is deeper due to their shared dreams, of the struggle that Palmer faces and Chal’s unswerving support. Their friends make great supporting characters and it was great to see Alden and Percy (from Gypsies) again.

I will recommend this to those who love discovering new worlds and universes, great characters, brilliant storylines, hot men and even hotter sex and a very happy ending.

Review: This is a good story about drug addiction and rehab. I think it proves a point that addiction can be battled and how hard it Si. I applaud both Si and Kip for fighting their demons.

The story is very poignant. The only problem I had was it felt so narrated. The author seemed to just tell the story as to showing any real action.  Once I got into the story, however, I really liked the story line and characters.

So sounded very sweet though he had been through a lot.  I would have liked to have more information about his past and the Uncle that was mentioned a lot.  Kip seemed to be a charming man and dull of determination. I like that in a character.  He set his mind on staying clean in the world of show business where drugs run rampant.

All in all this is a very good story of addiction and love.  If you like, a story of two men battling drug addiction, fleeing bad pasts to make their dreams come true, friends to lovers, and tattoos, this is for you.

Review: I really would like to see where this story goes. I hope there is going to be another book following this one, because it is one of those true wish stories.

Gib was a bartender and also sells his body on occasions when he needed extra cash. And this was one of those times. He meets Edwin and realizes that he wants to find out if there was any way to continue with this man. The sex between them is mega hot. It makes the sheets burn with their desires and passion. Edwin is always gone on stories overseas in war-torn countries but most of the time he is alone even when there are others around. He just wanted to connect with someone but once he meets up with Gib, he wants it to turn permanent. It is such a short story, so everything is fast paced, but it makes it just a little bit harder to believe that this would happen in real life.

Although it is a fantasy one would want, a life full of love. You can’t help but fall in love with Gib the way he is trying to get his life on track but he just has to do what he has to do to pay the rent. Edwin is easy to love, with the fact that he is so tender and caring even going so far to cry when one would not expect a man to.

I loved this story but wished it were longer.

Blurb:  Excelling at the game he loved was everything to King, until Lukas showed him at first touch how much better his life could be…
Ewansiha ‘King’ Kroenig is at the pinnacle of his professional football career, even with a problem knee. He keeps his cool and keeps his head down, and that control has served him well. King is bisexual and has been known to date beautiful women, while he also occasionally satisfies his craving for men with the team’s trainer. It’s a good life, but starting with one bizarre and personal request from his ex, Silvia, his orderly life goes spinning out of control.

Lukas has no problem admitting he’s gay, but with a loudly homophobic team captain, he knows better than to go there around the team. He has his whole career ahead of him and is being groomed to take over for their star player, King Kroenig. If he admires King for more than his athletic prowess, what can it hurt?

No harm, no foul…until a certain trainer who knows them both well decides to play matchmaker, then all bets are off. And once they’ve experienced that first taste, they want more. But it’s not as simple as hooking up or dating when you’re team-mates, with high profiles and little privacy. And when they each suddenly gain responsibilities they never expected, they must figure out a way to reconcile their personal lives with the expectations of others.

Review:  Let’s start by saying that as an American when I hear football, I think of our version of it. Not the football most of the rest of the world plays. And this book is about the version the rest of the world plays. The references to the football are generic enough for non-sports people to understand most of.

I love how the authors have addressed homophobia that still exists within the world of sports, professional sports especially. King Kroenig is actually bi-sexual, always having one of the world’s most beautiful women on his arm. He keeps the need for the occasional man well hidden. He knows that most of his team just wouldn’t understand and he’s afraid of what it would do to his career if that knowledge came out. While the team’s trainer Sergio is gay, nothing is ever confirmed so the team doesn’t seem to have a real problem with it. King and Sergio have scratched each other’s itches on occasions unknown to the team. However, King has his eye on a teammate; too bad, he can’t do anything about it.

Teammate Lukas is gay; he and Sergio have also scratched a few itches between them. Therefore, Sergio reads Lukas’ lusting from afar after King. But Lukas believes the man is straight, so from afar is all it’s ever going to be. Also, he doesn’t want to deal with the ugliness that would happen if his homophobe Captain found out he was gay. So, nothing is ever going to happen unless Lukas gets a little help from his friendly know everyone’s secrets team trainer. Which Sergio is more than happy to set up for them.

Added complications arise when one of King’s ex-girlfriends want him to make a donation to expand the numbers of her family with her steady girlfriend.  Also added to the mix also it the teen kid Lukas rescue from the gay club the guys go to and takes him home. Lukas is going to let the kid stay as long as he needs to or forever he hopes.

Things become a mixed up mess between the set up of King and Lukas, a needy teenage boy, sperm donations, an ex-girlfriend and her ladylove, a gay trainer, homophobic teammates, camera phone pictures and injuries. It’s a fun mix to read and sort though. I loved the characters or most of them anyway. This was a great read, very enjoyable for me a sports fan.

Review: Vlatko is a hired assassin. He knows he is dying and is trying to find a cure, while hiding from the force he defected from the IUM. He likes his solitude on the primitive planet he is hiding on.

Rue is a thief and is trying to steal the secrets the Assassin has and doesn’t know he is being double-crossed by the IUM. He knows his life will be changing drastically after his first night on the island with the dangerous, but gorgeous man.

I found this a very interesting science fiction story. The planets are not complicated and overly weird. The story line is quite intriguing with a few interesting twists and turns, and there is lots and lots of hot mansex. The story is peppered in among the sex enough to make it interesting and romantic. I liked the contrast of the characters and the deep emotions. It is very good story of other worlds and intrigue. I would definitely read more!

Recommendation: If you like outsiders, thieves, assassins, people from other planets, true love, firebirds and lots of hot man-sex  with a good ending this is definitely for you.

Review: This story comes too close to a fairytale for me.

Paddy has always been a daredevil, never backing away from trouble. At the tender age of twenty-three a bar fight ends his life and he spends the next ten yours wandering the world. His one and only regret that he didn’t get to tell Gareth how much he liked him.

The moment he sets his foot on Boston though a bit after midnight on St Patrick’s Day Paddy witnesses a murder. There is nothing he can do though but stay there and watch the poor guy die.

At O’Toole’s bar in Boston Gareth has stopped for a drink. It’s that day of the year again, his birthday and this time he doesn’t want to be alone in his apartment. But never did he expect to be approach by a man who wears the most familiar eyes he’s ever seen. Eyes that has followed him in his fantasies for more than ten years.

Two lovers who never had a chance. The feelings and emotions are too strong, too fast in a very acceptable plot. Both men have had ten years to think, want, and long for each other. Paddy has been a ghost thus he has been denied feelings such as the feeling of a solid body, taste, smell, and when he gets together with the one he’s loved everything gets more intense. The fact that we don’t know if it’s permanent or he’s going to lose the solid body after the magical day of St. Patrick’s makes it even more desperate.

So ok, many things in the plot don’t really stand and if you want to check every detail then some things and reactions are simply lacking or seemingly left half-finished. But, all in all, everything gets lost in a haze of magic.

So dare you believe in magic? For magic and love is all this story is about. If you are in the right mood for romance and a great deal of lost chances, regrets and a magical, miraculous second chance then this is the book for you.

Jim Stanton and Daniel Perkins fell in love with each other at a ZZ Top concert in 1987, though they never admitted it. After graduation, they let their love slip away, but never forgot. Their 25th class reunion gives them the chance to correct the mistake.

Review: A very sweet little story Sharped Dressed Man follows two High School best friends who drifted apart in the years that followed until one day, after twenty-five years, they received a Reunion Invitation.

The story is a bit weird in some part. See both men had this epiphany at a concert of ZZ TOP they both attended, that they were in love with each other. Neither though had the guts to share that little info with the other, instead being afraid that if their best friend would find out they’d lose the friendship they so much valued. Ending up, of course, not only trying to hide what they felt, but also losing their best friend anyway when High School was over.

As years passed by and each of them settles into their careers, neither has the same time to go back home for visits. Not once managing to see each other during these twenty-five years. The yearning though is there, the longing of seeing their best friend. The man who all others had to compare and compete for each. And now the time has finally come for them to make that happen.

So you see this story is quite easy flowing in concept. Jim and Dan’s families both are not only very accepting, but also trying to match them together. There are no complications and no angst at all in this entire story. Only the fears each character harbors that their feelings won’t be reciprocated. So when they finally meet right outside the place where their reunion is held their hunger for each other steps in and takes them both in a reunion of their own. A first time holding too much passion for them to contain.

Honestly, either I’m too picky or this was a bit too much for me, but the dialogues between the characters were not very fascinating, they rather put me down a bit. There was this huge going round and round blaming each other (thankfully the next day) about how stupid they were to have lost all this time. While in the meanwhile, there was no dialogue about their current state. How are these two men? What happened to them in so long they haven’t laid eyes on each other? They jumped so fast into the “I love you”, “let’s stay together,” and “let’s get married” that I sort of had a mental whiplash with that.

Bottom end, I would rather have a HFN than a HEA here. But, objectively, any fan of the sweet romance and the love conquers it all, even our fears of rejection, would probably love this story. It’s sweet, it’s easy, and it has a most satisfying end.

Blurb: A handsome Bollywood actor must choose between his career and a rugged cricket player from his past, who he’s fallen in love with…again.

Rajan Malik has the world of Bollywood in the palm of his hand…a beautiful girlfriend, starring roles, adoring fans…He should be happy, but behind the façade lies a man conflicted and exhausted by the pressure placed on him by his ill mother, his agent and society. His life is not his own, and all he wants to do is escape.

Indian Premier League cricketer Ajay Singh can’t believe how bad his university roommate Rajan looks when he spots his picture in the paper. They had parted on bad terms. Still, he’s moved to offer Rajan his support by renewing their friendship.

But friendship was not all they shared back then. Though Ajay is out, Rajan isn’t willing to give up his carefully cultivated Bollywood image to be with him publicly. And with very little privacy, it won’t take long for someone to find out they are more than friends.

Their renewed secret affair is fraught with difficulties as they deal with the death of Rajan’s mother, the secret of Rajan’s till-now absent father, a jealous friend, intrusive social media, and threatening notes from someone who seems to know all about their private lives.

It’s a bit of a sticky wicket they find themselves in. Will it be too late when both men finally realise that they’ll need to compromise, or stand to lose everything?

Review: Rajan is a Bollywood star living the life that his mother created for him, starring roles, beautiful girlfriend, and fame. But the life is starting to tear him apart, having to suppress his natural desires to please all those around him. Getting a surprise phone call from his old concerned friend Rajan remembers a time when he was happy and in love. Ajay doesn’t know what Raja’s reaction will be to his offer of a place of sanctuary, they didn’t part on the best of terms and now Ajay is an openly gay cricketer and has no plans to go back in the closet. Rekindling their romance is risky but neither man can resist, Rajan begins to get anonymous phone calls and notes, his mother is dying and trying to force him into an engagement. Ajay feels like he has been shoved back into closet having to hide his relationship with Rajan, while Rajan parades around the girlfriend. Can the men find a compromise before it’s too late?

This was quite a good Bollywood dilemma story that is an easy read. Rajan is very easily pressured, he did want to be a teacher, but when his mother heard how close he was to a friend he was quickly whisked home to be molded into the perfect Bollywood star, since then his mother, agent and girlfriend have control of his life and it is wearing him down. Ajay has stood on his own and made his own decisions, he is openly gay and a star cricketer. Offering Rajan a retreat from the high-pressure world might be a mistake but even after all these years he still cares deeply for the actor.

Ajay has a confidence in himself that is impressive and having Rajan again is all he wants, but accepting the restrictions are hard when all he wants is to love Rajan. Rajan is easily controlled by other people, especially his mother, but soon he will have to make his own choices if he wants to hold onto his love. I liked both Ajay and Rajan and enjoyed watching as they maneuvered into a relationship that they could both work with. the hot sex that is never a problem. The conflict that Rajan faces and the patience that Ajay has to dig deep for, and finally a compromise that works for both of them.

I was also surprised that the story was more focused on Rajan rather than Ajay and that was because of the series name, it was quite disappointing because I was looking forward to seeing what the authors could come up with for a cricketer but it was all about the Bollywood stars problems. I was very disappointed with the storyline. Especially seeing as it reminded me very strongly of another Bollywood story released over a year ago. Change the cricketers for bodyguards and yeah, very similar storyline.

I will recommend this to those who love closeted actors, hot cricketers, tension, forgiveness, hot sex and a great happy ending.

Review:  Nash Rhodes rides into Fallen Creek on his Harley thinking it’s just another pit stop on his ride. Not looking for any trouble, but trouble finds him nonetheless. Cullen O’Murphy is a lone wolf that just wants to be left alone. When Cullen meets Nash at the local bar, more than just chemistry will force these two together.

These two men share more than a mutual attraction to one another. Nash left his motorcycle gang because of its homophobic leader, who was less than thrilled to have a gay man in his ranks. Cullen has had to deal with homophobia among his fellow shifters, hence the reason he prefers to not be part of a pack. There’s another juicy detail that makes these two more alike than even they could imagine, but that would be a spoiler so you’ll have to read this story yourself for that little tidbit!

Equal parts intrigue, mystery and secrecy make this an enticing read. Nash and Cullen try to ignore the sexual tension at the start, but when circumstance finds them in close quarters they give in to the desire. The alpha male in Cullen wants not only to protect Nash, but to claim him as his and his alone. Cullen easily takes out the local pack leader, but when Nash’s former boss tracks him down, he isn’t quite so easy to maintain.

The story started out a little slow but found steady footing in the end. If you are a fan of gay, shifter stories with a HFN ending then this is a must read for you. The characters have depth and realism to them and the story flowed well once it got going. I am anxious to see if there will be a continuation to this story as the author left a few unanswered questions and I’d really like to hear Ten’s story. Overall this was a fun lazy day kind of read!

Review:  This story between Jack, Brady and Simon is beautifully written and presented. Long-time couple, Brady and Simon, meet Jack at a local club, and lust is born that turns into something else before the night is even over. A lot of people might see a three person relationship (polyamory) as wrong, but love is love, and what gives anyone else the right to say who you can or cannot love? I love the fact that neither of the two men make Jack feel like he is a third wheel, and enable him to join them without feeling guilty, though in the beginning he feels a bit insecure. He has a hard time believing either of these two men can genuinely like him, much less allow love to bloom for them. The sex is incredibly delicious and done with taste and no jealousy. A polyamorous relationship soon evolves, and in the end they all realize it was already there from basically the moment they met. As Jack helps each of the two men weather a crisis in their professional lives, there is no doubt in anyone’s mind that this is exactly where all three men need to be; in each other’s arms for the rest of eternity, as a unit.

Branimir gained a reputation as a horse whisperer, able to teach the most frightened horse to trust. They were on top of the world—until Branimir’s lover died in a car accident.

Since then, Branimir’s continued on, allowing the horses that need him to fill the empty place left by his tragic loss. Yet Branimir has a secret hidden deep inside of him. One he lets out only on rare occasions when there is a need.

He wants to ride horses in the Olympics, eventing, to be specific. Yet with all his money, he’s never found the right horse for him. Until one morning, he stares at a scar-covered, half-starving mare named Mary’s Gospel and sees the look of eagles in her unvanquished gaze.

Review: I found “The Longest Stride” a very peculiar book to read. While decently written and with a potential theme, it did not met with my expectations.  By the end of the book, I was left wondering why  Chase included a shifter thread. She could as well gone with a talented horse whisperer and have the same result. Also, I found the blurb and book itself not match in the little details, it felt like the blurb was written first based on the draft and the novel was chopped of later during editing, but they forgot to correct the details of the blurb…

Let’s start by saying that this is the story of Branimir and Austin.

Branimir is a middle-aged man, quite handsome and well endowed. He has a Rehabilitation Center for retired and abused horses. He and his late partner (Tilman) were quite famous due to Tilman’s great riding and Branimir’s special talent with horses. He is rumored to be a horse whisperer. Now I know that in the blurb we are informed that Tilman died in a car accident, but I didn’t found that information in the book… Branimir is also a horse-shifter, however we only see him shift a couple of times right at the start of the book and then one last time at the end and while he has certain abilities with the horses due to his inheritance, he almost never uses them because he feels like he’s cheating!? So all in all I got the impression that his entire “magic” of being a shifter in this book served no other reason than the explanation of his relationship with his father (herd stallion). Too bad that this new shifting form was left unexplored, it would have been interesting to read.

Austin comes from a wealthy family, but he has no interest on his father’s business. He loves horses and has made quite a name in the circle as an excellent event rider and trainer. He’s passionate with horses, loving them even if they don’t “pay their expenses”. Bran and Austin meet when Austin saves a mare that was being abused by her owner. Bran offers him his help with the mare’s mental health and that is the start of their anticipated relationship. For the months that it took Bran to help the mare Austin stayed with him at his farm and the two men steadily fell in love. A change comes in the plot when Bran’s little brother, Drahomir, shows up suddenly and after him their Father. It was then that I thought that the shifting would serve its purpose and give us something to blow our mind at last, alas, it didn’t happened.

As I said in the beginning, while this book had potentials it simply failed to get there and I would not recommend it if you are an avid paranormal/shifter reader. This is not that kind of book. However, if you’re up for a m/m cowboyish romance you might want to give it a try. And if you love horses this book is quite detailed about them and their mentality.

Blurb: In the 1700s, Gatian Almasia was rich and a sought-after member of Parisian society. No one realized he’d lost his reason for living three years earlier. When his sister accuses another nobleman of raping her, Gatian does what any older brother would do. He challenges the man to a duel, and kills him. Later that night, the dead man’s family takes their revenge on Gatian.

Gatian’s death is just the beginning of the journey he must take as Death, the Pale Horseman of Apocalyptic fame. While he doesn’t regret taking the nobleman’s life, the guilt of not being there when his lover died builds a wall around his heart, and until he accepts forgiveness, he must always be Death.

Pierre Fortsecue is a spoiled rich young man whose heart is broken by the man he thinks he loves. Finding himself alone in Paris, Pierre sinks into a haze of heroin. He gets a tainted baggie of the drug, and almost dies from it. Death arrives to take his soul, and something about Pierre touches the Pale Horseman, who steals him away to help heal.

As Pierre heals and Death begins to feel again, they begin to wonder if love really is the only emotion needed to overcome desolation and destruction.

Review: Death has no remorse for the actions that lead to his death.  But, he carries guilt over his lovers’ death.  Now, he carries the mantle of Death, the Pale Horseman and his new orders take him to a man who is close to death from drug abuse. Pierre has plunged back into drug abuse after discovering his lovers’ betrayal, on the brink of death.  He is visited and given a reprieve. Now, with the help of Death, he starts to pull himself out of the gutter.

*Sigh* Death, oh Death, what guilt you carry on your shoulders. How hard you try not to care and how soft your core really is. Death/Gatian has lived with the guilt of his lovers’ death for many years. But, meeting Pierre leads to some similarities, but also glaring differences. Death begins to hear his lost lovers’ voice, as he helps Pierre get clean. Pierre has sunk low before, but never this low and now, with Death’s help, he starts to see things a bit differently and begins to find his way out of the hole he has landed in.

I have to say that this is my favorite Horseman and not just because we finally got Death’s story. It’s also because of the level of detail that we are treated to; from the streets of Paris in the 1700’s, to Gatian’s country estate.  And also the detail of the effects of the drugs and the overdose. We get to see Aldo and Bart briefly for a flying visit and we meet Lam’s lover, Day. God. I so want to read their story.

Death and Pierre’s story is really good.  Pierre finally comes to face his own actions and grows up.  Even going so far as to… ah nah read the book. Death/Gatian finally begins to process his own guilt over not being there when Oliver died. and Pierre and Death have some really hot sex. I thought that the way the relationship played out was great. And, I especially liked it when Pierre insisted on standing on his own two feet, without using Death as a crutch.

So the end to a well-loved series and I will recommend that everyone who loves paranormal, hot men, great back stories, hope for the future and a happy ever after.

Having been sacrificed by his village shaman, Famine knows what it’s like to do anything to survive. He wanders the world, sowing drought and starvation in his wake. Yet he hates being the Black Horseman more than anything in the world, except the man who ended his life all those centuries ago. Famine never stops doing his job, and never allows himself to fall in love.

Ekundayo wants a better life for himself, so he steals a diamond from the mine where he works. Nothing goes well for him after that, and he finds himself dying in the desert on his way to the border. When he’s rescued by Famine, Ekundayo isn’t sure if his luck has changed or not. The longer he stays in Famine’s company, the more Ekundayo discovers he just might be falling in love with Famine.

One bad choice of Ekundayo’s part and a future together seems out of reach. Will Famine let his only possibility of love go or will he defy Death himself to keep Ekundayo?

Reader Advisory: This book is best read in sequence as part of a series

Purchase Link: http://www.total-e-bound.com/product.asp?P_ID=1547

Review: Famine spends his days traveling around making sure nothing will grow and drying up any water around.   He might not like what he does and he has done it for a long time, but he knows that there is a reason for it even if he doesn’t agree. Ekundayo steals a diamond from the mine he works (slaves) at.  As he runs away with plans to sell it, he slips and now he is trapped.  When he is rescued, although he feels attracted to his rescuer, he needs to find the diamond and sell it to have a better life.

This is a well written story that shows us more about what it means to be a Horseman. Famine isn’t like the other horsemen, as he hadn’t done anything to deserve becoming a Horseman and he has nothing to feel guilt over. So I was puzzled as to why he was made one but then it was answered near the end. Both Famine and Ekundayo are good characters and they seemed to have a spark, but they didn’t come across as real people… they were flat and they didn’t really feel alive so my attention wandered often.

Ekundayo being a thief isn’t even a blip on my radar as living in conditions that he was I’d have done worse.  What did bother me is that while he was recovering with Famine he was obsessed with getting the diamond back.  Even while he was falling in love with Famine. Famine is cautious with Ekundayo and he does try to dissuade him a bit. The sex between the two is hot and I did like the way that Famine went to Ekundayo’s rescue with Death’s subtle nudging of course.

Now the only part that really got me and miffed me off a little and that was a mistake by the author (unless there was something missing with an explanation) and that was Famine’s salt, it was clearly stated to Famine by Death that the salt would only work for Famine ‘no one else could do what he did’ but Ekundayo drops one of the grains and it ruined the little Island. Now on the good side Lam has a mystery so is he heavily featured in Death’s story or will there be a story just for him?

So any way with this one I will recommend it to those who love hot sex, desperate men, a man who needs to forgive and a happy ever after.

Portia’s Mini-rant:  I was very disappointed with the cover art for this book.  There are too many beautiful Black men in the world to have to Photoshop in dreadlocks.  My my mind, Death looks  more like this. 😉

Review: Hal opened the hospice after his brother died; he offers support, love and respite from the worries of the world.  But as each year passes and those who come to him and become friends and then die, he finds it harder and harder to face each heartache without crawling into a bottle. Tavis has decided he needs to help on a more hands-on level, rather than just send a check each year.  When he meets Hal he begins to realize that he has found more than he first realized.

Hal has had his heart torn out more times than he can count.  He no longer finds joy in Christmas since his brother died and so many others since then.  He is wary of death but he provides something for these people that they desperately need… human contact and comfort in their last months and years. Tavis is a good man he has always supported charities and has been on humanitarian missions with his mother but the last one affected him more than he realized.  He now needs to do more, when they meet there is attraction but neither one is sure what to do about it.

I adored this story. It is gentle, loving, heartbreakingly touching and although it is sad it is also joyful. These two men come together at a time in their lives when they need the other.  Hal needs something and someone to remind him that life isn’t all death and sadness and Tavis has realized that his life is really quite shallow.

This book is so wonderfully written that I doubt that anyone will be able to read it without succumbing to tears. The characters are wonderful, especially Joey who will touch your hearts, and the lovemaking is beautiful.

I have to recommend this to everyone as it is a novella not to be missed.

With the threat of another murder hanging over their heads, Tanner and Mac will have to find a way work past their differences before the killer strikes again.

Purchase Link: http://www.loose-id.com/Borderline.aspx

Review: Mac is frustrated by a serial killer who is terrorizing Houston.  In an effort to find him before he kills again his Captain requests the help of the FBI’s profiler who Mac has an instant attraction to.  But then the killer strikes close to home. Tanner examines all the evidence trying to find anything to bring the killer to justice, while dealing with the attraction to Mac and keeping his secrets close to his chest.

I have to say that it was difficult to decide what heart rating to give this one because at times the story-line seemed improbable but then you’d find out something later on that made it seem probable and you’d nod your head and say ‘Yeah that could work’.  I mean, I wondered about the killer and who it turned out to be and how likely that was to happen but then I remembered an episode of ‘Criminal Minds’ and thought ‘yeah it could happen’.

Mac and Tanner were two characters that I liked a lot.  They have both had a hard life Mac more so than Tanner and Tanner seems to be so much more open than Mac.  But they both connected on a lot of levels and their relationship moved fast. The parts with the serial killer and his victims sent a sliver of ice down my spine and we can work out who Tanner’s family are.

The story-line was good and the plot was great, the characters were pretty realistic and the romance and sex between Mac and Tanner was good.   The attempted blackmail of Mac made me wish that Mac had punched “him” a few times. The only thing that let it down for me was that there could have been more suspense, drama and danger, I mean the potential was there and the actual capture of the killer would have fulfilled it to perfection, unfortunately for us that scene wasn’t in the book *sigh* so I have to make do with my own imagination to fill in the blank *sigh*. The story is well written; which I did worry about because when I read the blurb I noticed that it was missing a couple of words, but the story was fine and I didn’t notice anything missing.

So, all in all, I thought this book was good and all I can say is give it a try.  I think you might enjoy it if you like cop stories, suspense, hot sex and a happy ever after.

Blurb: For Pestilence, the White Horseman, love becomes the most powerful cure.

Having lost his wife and child during the Black Death, Pestilence accepts the fate destiny has given him as one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. For centuries, Pestilence did his job, spreading plagues and disease around the world. He does it to keep the balance between good and evil, yet he hates every minute of it. He longs to be left alone, but suddenly fate seems to have a different plan for him.

When Bart Winston stumbles into an Amazon clearing, he’s terribly ill and sure he’s going to die. A tall white-haired man with unusual black eyes catches him in his arms and Bart’s life takes a turn into the unbelievable. Blaming the whole situation on his illness might have worked, but as he gets better and learns about the strange man who heals him, Bart must accept there are more things in the world than he ever guessed.

Pestilence and Bart heal each other, and begin to wonder if there can be a future for the White Horseman and the mortal he’s fallen in love with.

Review: I am a huge fan of T.A. Chase’s paranormal/fantasy stories.  I have got to say she doesn’t let us down with this one. Bart has been abandoned in the middle of the Amazon by his colleagues; he’s ill and stumbling blindly to find his way out when he falls into the arms of Pest. Pestilence takes care of the man who collapsed in-front of him while juggling with his job as a Horseman; he ignores Death’s advice and ends up caring deeply for Bart.

This is a really good story about The Horsemen and I was fascinated by the premise of who they are, how they came to be and what their job really is. This story is focused on Aldo Bianchi, AKA Pestilence, who carries guilt with him.   He hates what he is and hides deep in the Amazon as far away from humanity as he can.  When he meets Bart something starts to change for him. Bart has his own problems to deal with, he is severely ill, stuck in a jungle with only primitive medicine and a crazy man to help him.

We get a good background on the MC’s and some really good story building on The Horsemen background.  The sex is hot and the relationship between Pest and Bart is great.  It isn’t rushed into or based just on sex. Bart helps Pest deal with his guilt and accept that there are just some things that happen. I loved Death and can’t wait for his story (it’s going to be a corker I just know it) and we met War briefly at the end, so is it War’s story next?

I will recommend this to everyone who loves hot sex, hot men, a great story and a brilliant paranormal plot.
