Blurb: Left at the altar by his long-time lover, Spencer, and in desperate need of quality health insurance, Dane Archer can’t say no when his best man and best friend, Gideon DeLuca, steps in. But Dane and Gideon have history, tangled and passionate and complicated.

After seventeen years of cat and mouse, Gideon has realized Dane isn’t the kind of man who ever wants to be caught, and he’s stopped playing Dane’s game.

For Dane, it’s never been a game, but sexual fidelity isn’t his strong suit. Love is too beautiful for limits, something he’s never been able to get Gideon the control freak to understand. Now Dane has nothing but limits, including the timeline on his paper-only marriage to Gideon.

Gideon’s the only person Dane trusts enough to lean on, and Gideon will do anything to get Dane through this crisis. Anything but fall for Dane again.

Living together forces Dane and Gideon to stop circling and face what’s been between them all these years. They just don’t know if they have the power or the time to make things right.

What they do know is that they’re not ready for it to be over.

Review: When I came across this story I had a different thought on the series name.  I was thinking paranormal what with Knot added in, but never did I think marriage.  I hadn’t even realized that I was getting ready to read book three, so I didn’t read the first two stories.  Which isn’t a good thing for me, because I felt like I had missed some of the reactions and reasons from everyone in the book.  For me, this is the first time I have read anything from this author, so I was no really sure what to expect.  I am not a fan of reading books by people I have not read before.  Most of the time I choose by title or series, thinking one thing and finding out that my dumb ass should have read the blurb.  With this story I went ahead and read it because of the fact that one of the guys had cancer.  It was meant to be an emotional book for me.  However I am at odds with it.

My attention was not as stuck on this book as it should have been.  The open relationship is what made the story flop for me.  I have never really got into books where one or both of the guys think’s sleeping with others was hot.  So it threw the story off to me.  However Dane is a little bit of a flake, whereas Gideon comes off as a fool in some parts.  Dane has cancer and has a few more chemo sessions to go through.  The problem is his insurance is about to expire and it will leave him without.  So him and his long-time boyfriend are getting married.  The problem is at the alter Spencer chickens out.

In steps Dane’s best friend and best man, Gideon.  Now Gideon has been in love with Dane for some time.  They have a sexual relationship, but it seems to be offset with the fact that he is in love with the man.  Now Dane is in love with Gideon although he fights it that is until the end.  So Gideon decides to do what is right and marries Dane himself, so that Dane has insurance.  Now I can see why they did it, but I also see how wrong in different directions.  I am just glad that the ending turned out as expected.

Overall the story is pretty good, but for me there were some parts that I just didn’t much care for.  As I have said I don’t care for open relationships in my stories so that dropped it down quite a bit.  Also the story just fell flat for me, because the sex that was added in, felt like it was just thrown in there for word count.  There was no true heat and definitely no passion to be seen, although the cancer can be blamed for that.  There should have still been something showing me that they really desired each other.  I am afraid that this story just didn’t do it for me.
