Review:  Mysterious, suspenseful, and intriguing. This is not at all like the usual work that Erno gives us and I was pleasantly surprised.

Will Austin struggles to make ends meet, working full-time at Starbucks in dreams of becoming a nurse. He is a good-natured person that is passionate about helping people. When a kind and sexy stranger helps him with his broken down car one afternoon, sparks fly and the two are soon enough in a committed relationship. Blaine is a tall, dark, and handsome attorney and he took to Will immediately. He’s just as kind and generous as Will for the most part, but there is something about his domineering side in the bedroom that nags at Will.

When Blaine learns that Will has hospice experience and experiencing the patience that radiates off of the man, Blaine asks Will to help care for his ailing uncle. Will isn’t with Blaine’s uncles more than a day before he is able to make a difference for the better. But Elliot bounces back and forth between coherent and almost comatose and it confuses Will. As Will unravels the cause of Elliot’s apparent illness it clashes with his beliefs and it may cost him his life.

I do love a good story about soul mates, even more so when a new twist is introduced. Magic and mayhem mixed with some hot sweaty sex, yes please! The core of this story is an age-old belief in the Wiccan culture, the use of magic when it comes to personal gain. I myself am fascinated with Wicca and witchcraft as well as the afterlife. Erno has taken all these elements and added in the soul mates twist and the hatred homosexuals have had to deal with for centuries. This book is a little bit of The Skeleton Key and a little bit of Charmed, but with gay men. I loved it!!
