Blurb:  With nothing to lose after getting booted from the Dallas Symphony, concert flutist Adrian Mylonas follows a friend’s recommendation to take work as a satyr at Scarborough Renaissance Festival. While playing his pipes, Adrian spots a man unloading elephants. Ed Costa has lived his whole life running elephant rides at various festivals around Texas. He inherited the job from his father, and is teaching the family trade to his five-year-old son Eddy, who is the center of Ed’s life. He likes the life he leads, but he begins wondering if he’s missing out because he doesn’t have someone special to share it with.

The songs of the elephants and the colorful life of the faire capture Adrian’s imagination, and as he gets to know Ed, the rugged man sets his heart free. He begins to think he could leave his careful and sophisticated life behind for new music, new habits, and new love

Review: Adrian is a Concert Flutist and pretty full of himself.  He is also very gifted in music and follows his heart and the music. Sometimes that gets him in trouble.  He loses his job in the orchestra after one of these mishaps and the conductor/ composer threatens to ruin him for changing his music. Sebastian, Adrian’s best friend, tells him he can get him a spring job at the upcoming Ren faire as a Satyr selling flutes, it would be fun and also give him plenty of time to reinvent himself and work on his own music.

I love the renaissance and the modern takes on the Ren faires .There is just something magical about this topic. This story is quite magical even though it is not a paranormal or historical but a modern-day take on the popular festivals. This way you get a bit of both worlds.

I love a good character driven story and this one is exceptional in that department. All the characters are interesting, easy to relate to even though Adrian is not your run of the mill person. He is selfish, conceited but does have a good heart. As the story, moves on I found myself liking him more and more. Also in here you have animals and this one particularly elephants.  The elephants were fabulous and really added a wonderful dimension to the tale. And then there are children.  Yes, Ed is gay but has a son that is five and a handful.  Eddy adds a sweetness and charm to the already great story.

I highly recommend this if you like Renaissance festival, elephants, musicians, artistic people, good fathers, children, and a very good romance.
