Blurb: The weather in the Florida swamps is looking a little rocky for retired football player, Galen, his laid-back lover, Shane, and their gator, Vic.

When Galen buys into a football team, promoting and wheeling and dealing are the name of the game. He’s so busy he hardly gets to see Shane anymore, which means a lot of lonely naps on the couch.

Shane is tied up with managing the bar, covering for unreliable bartenders, and serving drinks to good-time party boys. Used to be Galen couldn’t get enough of him. Now he can hardly pry Galen away from the phone, and Shane starts to wonder where he stands in Galen’s life. Will things ever be the way they were?

When Galen starts to forget their dates, the pressure builds, jealousy and hurt swirling into a tropical storm. Galen and Shane need to seek shelter in each other before everything they’ve built is washed away.

Review: Galen and Shane are back and tensions are running high as Shane struggles to find free time away from the bar and Galen gets caught up in business after buying a football team.

This is a great follow up story to Rain and Whiskey, where we get the chance to catch up with Galen and Shane as they struggle to make time for each other as their work lives get busy.

Shane and Galen are still hot for each other and they are happy with their lives, but as Shane spends more time at the bar struggling to fill in for unreliable bartenders and Galen gets caught up in his new project they guys feel the strain and we get to watch the fireworks.

While I enjoyed this story and really enjoyed Galen and Shane’s steamy moments I found the story lacked substance, the guys never really talk about the problems that crop up, they sort of begin to but then they have blazing hot sex and then everything is nearly back to normal with the problem being swept aside with an afterthought that they’d make more time for each other. It’s as though sex makes everything right again.

The story is good though with Galen and Shane having the easy camaraderie between them, steamy hot sex and humor. It’s not all fun and games though as they have to juggle their jobs with their time together, both men have to work out how to get their downtime before they fracture what they have together. We meet Vic the alligator which adds a fun spot to the story, and I especially liked the way that Shane dealt with Galen’s constantly ringing phone near the end of the story, Vic really does come in handy.

I recommend this to those who love great characters, hot sex, tensions running high and two men determined to make things work.
