Blurb:   Gabe and Matteo have settled into the highs and lows of new fatherhood—exhaustion, dirty diapers, baby bottles and a whole lot of love. But as their first family Christmas looms on the horizon, Matteo is worried about how his partner is handling his new role as Papa Gabe.

There’s no doubt Gabe adores the twins, but his libido, his sense of proportion and perhaps his sanity seem to have disappeared under the strain. Matteo is determined to make their new family work, but it may take thinking outside the box to get back the calm, sensible Gabe he planned to share fatherhood and the rest of his life with.

Review:  Oh dear me, what a story…I must confess that I did think when starting this book that I was in for a ride. Well, I was in for a ride alright, but not the expected one. I think I’m freaked out from the memories this book awakened and the frustration that had its hold on me for almost the entire read.

Gabe and Matty are new to the fatherhood lifestyle and of course like all parents, they try to find their path. While Matty seems to be dealing with it pretty good, Gabe has gone crazy with his OCD and shopping mania.

And oh my God, the flashbacks, the déjà vu, and the agony all that brought to me. Sweet Jesus, I thought I’d left all that behind.

As is normal when you have a new baby in the house, the nerves and your sanity takes a good hit, having twins just doubles all that. Eventually the pair goes from the happy place of having the babies to the accusations of you do too much and you don’t do nearly as much and pointing fingers and having fights to the point of breaking up.

What really got me the most during this read was their “talks” (not fights because they did not fight, they were having a discussion, right?) and how real they were. The fact that each of them only said their peace, intentionally blinding themselves to their own mistakes, and oh dear, the misunderstanding of each word was so real to me. I’m still cringing inside.

Anyway, of course the story ends well. The new daddies find their peace after an honest talk that to my eyes felt surreal because you do NOT overcome such emotions with a simple talk and a make-up sex. But even if I do acknowledge the well written part of their problems and agony over their new life, this story didn’t make much sense to me. The end was a bit… I don’t know what the point was and add that to the fact that emotionally and sexually I did not feel the pair’s chemistry at all. This story left me baffled. The only reason for the 2.5 stars I’m giving this story is the realistic portrayal of those oh-so-awful-days when hormones hit you and you barely can cope with the changes of your reality. Other than that, I really needed more and didn’t get it. For me, this story was far off the Christmas spirit with nothing to do with the Holidays at all.

Blurb:   Jing dreams of a yuletide filled with sex and candy…but so far the upcoming Winter Fae festivities look to be filled with humbugs…

It isn’t easy being the literal redheaded step-child of the grand Fairy King, Oberon. But frantically busy Jing, the Unseelie Court’s only male sugar-plum fairy, has a chance to redeem himself in Oberon’s eyes. All he has to do is invite a sexy, frolicsome guest to the annual Winter Fae Fest—a wicked, wanton holiday celebration.

When he happens upon a handsome, red-haired fairy in the forest, Jing senses a kindred spirit in the softly spoken William. The mysterious but captivating fairy at first declines Jing’s invitation, and then accepts.

At the festivities, however, Oberon recognizes William as a Fire Fae and goes berserk. Fire faeries, who have a tendency to be tricksters and mischief makers, once set his pants ablaze and singed his hair and brows. Oberon sees William as being dangerous and subversive—a lunatic—and Fire Fae are not welcome.

William rushes to assure Jing he’s not bad—he never wants to hurt anyone. He’s just misunderstood…

Review:  Oh, my God. I’m astonished by the fact that this book actually belongs to A.J. Llewellyn! I’m literally speechless. I kept checking while reading that the author’s name in the cover was indeed A.J.’s. Well, people, this is a fairytale! A real fairytale, with real fairies, elves and trolls…well you get the picture. Another amazing fact was that this novel was some kind of a remake of Cinderella. Now, normally I’m all bitchy about remakes since they usually suck big time, but this, oh my! This was a big, big hit for me. I’m not exaggerating when I say that I was bouncing up and down at times while reading this story. I don’t really know what to say here, the blurb pretty much covers things, but I loved these characters. Jing (love that name) is in my eyes a very cute and sweet fairy. It baffles me that the kingdom thinks that he’s stupid. Poor fella! He has a hard time landing a job since all he’s good at is dancing and just being happy. How cute is that? Finally, he lands the job of Sugar Plum Fairy, heads up, he’s the only male one and he’s more than happy about it. It’s something he can’t screw up. Jing’s main job is to entertain during the Winter Fae feast. Wait, did I mention that he’s a bit unlucky? No? Well, he is. While everything seems to finally be working for him, the King announces that the only way to join the festivities is to bring with you a hot date, and being the unlucky sod he is and having a real issue with landing a guy, the future doesn’t seem that bright for Jing. Everybody is turning him down and to make things worse, even his closest friends are betting on him not joining the feast at all (by the way, the feast is a huge orgy. Yeah! Hot!).

In his desperation and melancholy, Jing goes for a walk at the forest when wonder of wonders; he meets the most beautiful, gorgeous, sexy fairy he’s ever laid his eyes upon. He even gets a date out of him, the promise that he (William) will escort him at the ball the next day.

This is how things start for Jing. This is how he finds out that there’s more to him than a subdued young man who all think is stupid. This is how the greatest revelations of his entire life happen and how he finds the strongest, fiercest feeling of them all…

And this is how I discovered that A.J. Llewellyn can write hot stories that can warm your blood into something fierce. Excellent characters and imagination and a lovely plot as well.  Well done indeed! I enjoyed this fairytale immensely since it was fantastic and hot and fast and gripping. I absolutely recommend this novel to you if you like fairytales, fairies and hot orgies. J

Blurb: Is it just the holiday blues or is every mated couple having issues?

With the constant stress from the attacks the coven faces, all the changes over the past few years, and no mating being perfect… All the brothers need help to rediscover happiness with their mates. But who can help when it’s way past time for simple apologies?

Elena and Desmond are doing everything they can to help their sons and their mates. But there’s only so much a parent can do to help, and when Desmond lands himself in the doghouse he turns to his sons to help him. Maybe the best Christmas presents ever will help everyone realize that the love they feel is worth fighting for?

“Just because fate finds us our perfect match doesn’t mean it’s always easy and we don’t have to work at it. Anything worth having takes fighting for sometimes.” –Victor Marius

Note: This book is written in first-person point of view.

Review: As Christmas approaches the brothers are all feeling the strain of the constant demon attacks, many of them are finding it difficult to find a balance with their mates and it comes to a head as they prepare for Christmas. With advice from Desmond for the brothers and advice from Elena for the mates, can they all find common ground and make it a happy Christmas for all?

This is a great visit to the Marius’ and finding that not everyone is happy in the Marius household. All the mated brothers are going through turmoil with their mates. Remus is feeling neglected and ignored by Noah. Victor doesn’t realize that his actions are hurting his mate, Malachi. Damian feels like he should be doing more for Cyrus. Stefan feels as though Patrick is pushing him away and Micah feels that Riley puts everything and anyone before him and their daughter. And, then we have Gabriel who is struggling with his would be mate, Caven.

Well, its ups and downs as everyone tries to save their matings, with Desmond offering his boys advice to help them get their matings back on track. It isn’t easy for our favorite vampires and some things just miss their marks. There are tears and hurt feelings ahead as the mates do what they can to fix things, but sometimes breaking point is reached and outside help needed. Get ready for storming out, shouting and slamming doors. This is a good story of the pit falls of not communicating, of hiding feelings and trying too hard or too late. There’s angst, pleading, explanations and finally making up and really hot sex, and there’s also a surprise from Virgil.

I have to recommend this to those who like angsty situations, repairing relationships, reconnecting with your lover and re-finding happiness.

Blurb: How long can a human survive in the treacherous court of the winter fae, when even his allies are fighting for their lives?

Dis is a changeling, a human stolen away from his own world as a child by the vicious winter fae. He’s survived to adulthood through a combination of luck and careful oversight by his only ally, a fairy lord named Marten, but his success might have finally reached its end.

It’s the winter solstice, and Oberon’s court is preparing for a hunt with a history of bloodshed, one that requires Dis to be an unwilling participant. Even if Dis lives through that, he’s being watched by the king of the fae himself, and no one can save him if Oberon has marked him for sacrifice.

Review: Before we go any further I just need to do this… ‘Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrgggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh’. Okay, that’s out of my system. Dis was stolen from the human world many years before. He is the only human of recent years to reach adulthood and it is far from an easy life. The only bright spot in the dreary winter court is the fairy lord, Marten, but even he can’t keep him safe. The Hunt brings Dis to the attention of Oberon. Marten’s sister, Sable, is not impressed and Dis finds himself in danger on many levels.

This is a brilliant cruel stark story of the court of Oberon. Dis has had a cruel hard life living in the winter court.  He has no way out and his only glimmer of warmth in the cold world comes from Marten a, fairy lord. Snatching moments with the Fae, when Marten can sneak him away. Dis has attention drawn to himself during the Hunt and is given a special task by Oberon himself.

This story is brilliant. I loved the stark descriptions and the bleak outlook with there being only one bright spot in an otherwise dark life. It is a life without any hope except death, but the secret love that Dis has, keeps him going. But, they have to keep it hidden, because he is a changeling, and also because of the cruelness of Marten’s sister, Sable. The relationship between Marten and Dis is very secret and we see how much they care for one another without either of them giving the other away. The sex is hot between them and they genuinely love each other, but the parting is bittersweet.

There is much of this story that pulls you in and I will be honest the ending had me growling in frustration and spitting feathers. I nearly gave this book 2 Hearts because it ended so abruptly. But, I have since calmed down enough to give it a reasonable rating based on the storyline. There has to be a sequel in the pipeline for this book *on knees begging* because I need to know what happens next pppllllleeeeeaaaaassssseeeee.

I will recommend this to those who love Fae, finding love in a bleak harsh landscapes, a hard unfair life and a very bittersweet ending.

Blurb: DJ Delaney has two days off, a refrigerator full of food, and a tree with a thousand lights. What he doesn’t have is someone to share it with. Berg Pederson is out of the Army and out of the closet, and he’s traveled clear across the country to spend the holidays with a former lover—until the guy’s wife answers the door. Now he’s stranded on Christmas Eve with no idea what to do next.

Then DJ comes home and finds Berg outside his duplex, looking lost. One look into pale blue eyes, and DJ is curious enough to offer the guy a warm place to wait while he calls a cab, and then, on impulse, offers to make him dinner. Berg isn’t sure why the tall cop seems to be into him, but he’s not going to argue. After all, it’s Christmas Eve, and miracles do happen.

Review: Berg is fresh out of the army with one goal in mind… reuniting with his ex-lover Rob. But, he gets the surprise of his life when he finds there’s a wife.  Now, he is stranded in a city he doesn’t know and no one he can turn to until a neighbor takes pity on him. DJ is alone for the holidays and he doesn’t even have work to turn to. When he gets home, after his shift, he finds Berg looking dejected and DJ guesses what’s happened and offers Berg a place to get dry and plan his next move. But neither man counted on attraction and maybe they will both get what they really want for Christmas.

This is a really hot short that has a great mix of strength and vulnerability. Both Berg and DJ are used to being, and expected to be, strong men, but deep down inside they both need something slightly different. Both men are also pretty pathetic in the relationship department, DJ always choosing the wrong men and Berg just having quick sex. Together they seem to be what the other needs and with a few miss-starts they seem to hit their stride.

Both characters are well written for a short story and you get a very good feel for both of them, and you can’t help feeling by the end of the book that their chance meeting was the best thing that happened to either of them. The sex between them is smoking hot, really smoking and the connection between them is good. The ending is more of a beginning for them and I would love to see more from these guys in the future.

So, I recommend this if you want a hot Christmas story that isn’t too sappy or too mundane, that shows vulnerability and strength and two men starting something special… this book is definitely going in my hot sex fix pile ;-).

Review: Ryan is finally back home after a week of hiding out at a hotel.  He has big plans to celebrate his return home to his boyfriend, but disaster strikes and Ryan gets more and more frustrated as one thing after another threatens to ruin his Christmas plans. Jordan puts Ryan in a position he hates when a snow storm strands Jordan’s parents… and Jordan has to make a decision if he wants to make Ryan’s Christmas wish come true.

Ooookkkaaayyy.  Ryan, you have the patience of a saint. Jordan, you should be ashamed of yourself. This is one of those stories that you get pulled in both directions. On one hand you have Ryan, who loves his boyfriend so much that he moves out for a week, while Jordan moves in because Jordan isn’t out to his family and they are helping him move. But, you also have Jordan, who is terrified of how his family will react to him being gay, so he still hides it from them, even if it kills him to treat Ryan as just his roommate.

This was quite a funny story with Ryan’s comedy of errors as he tries valiantly to produce a romantic meal for his first night home so he can show Jordan how much he missed and loved him.  There was always something funny to break the tension and to ease the way. Ryan is a saint to do everything he did for Jordan, especially as Jordan didn’t have the courtesy to even ask Ryan if his taking over and doing what he was doing was even okay. The only thing that redeemed Jordan to me was that he didn’t try to back down when confronted with the truth, because I really don’t think he ever would have come out on his own.

I have to recommend this if you love awkward coming out stories, cooking disasters, loving relationships and finally a very happy Christmas with a very bright future.

Review: Mal and Aidan have been best friends for years, and Mal always gifts Aidan rocks and fossils with a story behind them. Aidan loves these gifts more than anything in the world and he cherishes his friendship with Mal too much to ever change it. A Halloween party changes all that though, when their relationship crosses the invisible lines and Aidan severs all contact, pushing Mal away before he completely destroys any feelings Mal might have for him.

This is quite a surprise as a Christmas story, because the beginning is long before Christmas and the ending just seems to coincide with Christmas. Aidan is used to everyone wanting mainly one thing from him… money. He has never been truly loved or wanted and has a string of failed relationships to prove it. Mal is his only real friend, but when they cross the line one night, Aidan believes that everything will change for the worse and decides to break everything off before it bites him in the ass. Mal has always loved Aidan, but he knew that the chances of anything more than friendship were low. But, one night with Aidan blows his mind and then Aidan cuts him from his life and Mal loses all hope.

This is a good story and I liked the characters Mal and Aidan. Their relationship is very special, but because of the emotional scars that Aidan carries, anything more than friends would be destroyed. I really liked that Aidan realized how much he missed Mal and that he finally realized how much help he really needed to heal. It was very sweet as he went out of his way to do something special for Mal and that finally they both got to the place where they can be equals.

I will recommend this to those who love emotionally crippled men, determined friends, a great friends to lovers story, some hot sex and a happy ending.

Review: Ethan was blindsided when his lover Alex left him. Three months later he is still getting back on his feet when the confirmation for his Christmas getaway arrives. A getaway he arranged because Alex loved it so much. Ethan is persuaded to go and there he meets Riley, the only other single person in their group of friends. When Riley shows his interest in Ethan, Ethan has to make a choice of letting the past go or closing his heart to the hope of love.

This book had a storyline that was very promising and a romance that could have been explosive. Ethan is still stinging from being dumped and isn’t really in the mood for Christmas, or for anything else really. Meeting Riley begins to break the stagnant seal he has placed around himself. Riley is interested in getting to know Ethan more and hopefully to get closer to him, but he has to be patient if he wants to have anything more than being friends.

This blurb sounded really interesting and I thought I would be in for a great Christmas treat, but to be honest I found the writing to be really stilted and dry. The characters didn’t come alive and I never felt like they connected. Ethan was very woe is me for a lot of the story and his ex-lover was mentioned too many times for comfort for me. Riley was very nice and patient letting Ethan go at his own pace and when they do get together for more it is very gentle.

For me this story was too unemotional, everything seemed flat and although there are other characters involved we get hardly anything off them either. I found the writing style hard to get into as well. one minute there would be a conversation going on between Ethan, Jason and Connor where they each say their own lines and then the rest of the conversation would be in a broad overview so it threw me off quite a bit.

I will recommend this if you love, finding new love stories, putting the past behind you, and a happy new beginning ending.

Blurb: Josh Freeman knows his best days are behind him. After his partner of seventeen years has an affair with a younger man, Josh buries himself in takeout boxes, half-smoked joints, and self-pity until his best friend gently kicks him in the ass and encourages him to try out a new job in Washington DC—at least until Thanksgiving.

Though DC has its share of troubles, specifically in the form of a murderer targeting gay men, Josh soon discovers its charms as well. Unlike his old home, DC is crawling with men who want to date him—apparently he’s not as overweight, out of shape, or over the hill as the man he once loved made him believe. In particular, Josh would love a chance with relocation expert Thad Parker, but Josh is sure Thad is seeing someone, so he looks for love elsewhere. He tells himself he and Thad don’t have anything in common anyway.

Then Josh learns Thad really is available. Maybe they can work it out after all. Suddenly the future seems bright again. Of course, Josh doesn’t know he’s the murderer’s next target

Review: Josh Freeman has been stuck in a rut. His partner of seventeen years found another lover and Josh isn’t exactly the sharing type. This doesn’t help his self-esteem and he starts to believe in the gay and almost forty crap about your life being over. He has himself a little pity party until his best friend pushes him to take a chance on a promotion in DC. Josh has never left his hometown and a lot has changed for him recently but he decides his new life couldn’t be any worse than the one he’s living now.  A visit to DC leaves him nervous, but excited about his new start. The cute man who shows him around town upon his arrival is just a bonus.

Thad is a confident and sweet man who knows what he wants out of life. He’s happy waiting for love and he just might have found it thanks to his job. Thad’s in charge of helping the new employees find apartments and getting settled in DC.  Josh Freeman is not at all what he was expecting. The connection between the two starts the moment they shake hands at the airport.

So, Josh moves to DC and he likes it. He doesn’t really know anybody but his coworkers, including the adorable Thad. You’d think the guys would get together, more than friends, since they are obviously attracted to each other but they don’t. They hang out but a silly misunderstanding puts Thad in the “can’t have you so I guess we’ll just be friends” category. This leads to some casual sexual hook ups and dating with a new group of friends in DC all while Thad waits for Josh to realize they are meant to be. Based on the advice of someone Thad trusts implicitly he thinks building a friendship and some time is what Josh needs since Josh was hurt and newly single. Even though Thad isn’t quick to hook up, everyone has a laid back vibe about Josh screwing his way back to Thad. That sounded a little nasty, but everyone seems mostly okay with it even though it didn’t work for me. We’re told often and see that Josh is a relationship guy. He practically plans his future and changes his life over a hot guy who buys him a beer. Thad is always in his thoughts however.

I liked Josh with the other guys but it’s a little hard to get truly invested in a couple who spends more time apart than together. I wanted that feeling that I needed them together, but it never really happened.

Then there’s the psycho serial killer. He’s totally crazy. There were points where I could buy into why he was doing what he was doing, but he was a little over the top at times. Josh and the guys also went back and forth between worried about the serial killer and being oblivious to danger.

Phillip was great. I hope there is someone like him out there!  I’d like to know what happens with Greg and Ed. They were fun even if they kept stealing Josh and Thad time!

The last third of the book was super sweet with some drama. I can’t say I loved it but it was definitely worth reading.

Finally getting home for the night he comes (trips up over) across his neighbor, Kian, injured in the hallway. Helping Kian takes a turn for the best when he shares his Christmas roast with Kian… as Mrs. Halfpenny added a little extra ingredient.

This is a very short story that has a lot of Christmas magic. Evan has always had an attraction to Kian, but because of Kian’s abrasive manner and standoffish attitude, Evan has avoided him as much as possible. Discovering Kian injured and unable to get to his own flat, Evan offers him help and with a little help from Mrs. Halfpenny’s cooking he discovers Kian isn’t as bad as he seems.

Evan and Kian lose their inhibitions after sampling Mrs. Halfpenny’s cooking. They both reveal more than they normally would have and they finally act on the attraction that they both feel. This is a cute story that is very hot and heavy in the later half. The first half gives us a build-up of both characters and we get a general idea about them. The passion that explodes between them is scorching hot and it is amazing that they had hidden it behind their outer shells. But, once the façade has been shattered, boy do they act the attraction between them.

I will recommend this to those who love charming magical stories, lowering inhibitions, explosive passion and a very happy magical Christmas.

Blurb: When fate decides two people belong together, nothing can stand in its way. Liam Kantry and Carlo Bruenelli find themselves caught up in the madness of Christmas as they discover the meaning of being true heart-mates.

Liam Kantry wants to be with the man he has loved his whole life, yet incessant rumors and innuendos have labeled him the pack whore — a point he has never disputed.

Are they true heart-mates? Will they forge a successful future or destroy two families?

Review: Carlo is 21 now and old enough to take part in the mating ceremony. He has always secretly been in love with his best friend, Liam, but longs to find his heart-mate. Liam has been waiting for Carlo to reach mating age, but there are rumors floating around him that his brother, Marcus, has spread and Carlo doubts his intentions. As Christmas draws closer and family protest, can these two wolves find love and happiness?

This is an interesting story with a newish twist on shifters in the Moon-Runner pack that I hope we will see more of. Liam has waited for Carlo for two years. Now that Carlo is old enough to take part in the mating ceremony, Liam plans to make Carlo his. Carlo longs to find his heart-mate, but he also loves Liam, even though Liam seems to have slept with nearly everyone in the pack. But, Carlo soon discovers that not everything is as it seems. Together they discover the truth and then they are given a surprise that could change their lives forever.

Carlo and Liam are a sweet couple. Both of them secretly loving the other, but both unsure of how the other feels. Liam has a bit of an angst moment when he inadvertently comes out to his parents, but Liam gets help and support from them in his quest to make Carlo’s his. But, Carlo faces some hostility from his father before he makes his choice. I thought the storyline was very interesting and would love to discover more about the world they live in, and the pack laws and circumstances. finding out more about heart-mates and how people view them would be wonderful, because, like Liam I was confused as to why Cara did what she did.

I liked this story and was glad it wasn’t too angsty, even though there were instances where that could have happened. It was also nice to see Carlo working things out and not instantly believing Liam and really Liam should have put a stop to the rumors years before. Together they are a great couple who find more happiness than they ever thought they would. They were also really hot together and fun, as shown in the snowball fight.

I will recommend this to those who love shifters, finding true love, families making up and friends finding what they had lost, as well as a very sweet happy ending.

Blurb: Holidays are for lovers, just apparently not Ben Haggerty. Not this holiday. After his degree-seeking lover leaves humble blue-collar Ben, Ben spends the Yuletide miserable. He’s not accustomed to being alone, not after seven years. Eventually Ben finds his lover’s new address and sends him a greeting card asking when he’ll come back home—only to learn in the returned correspondence that his card reached the wrong address and another man, Jason Prescott, by mistake.

Jason is touched by Ben’s appeal to his lover, and he and Ben spend months growing close as pen pals. Frequently exchanged correspondence turns into weekends spent together, but after learning Jason’s working on his second master’s degree and is even smarter than Ben’s ex, Ben wonders if Jason will be able to love someone as ordinary as he is.

Review: Ben is all alone for the holiday after his boyfriend just ups and leaves. After several months of hoping he will come home, Ben finds his new address and sends him a greeting card with a message. Months later he gets a reply from a stranger. Jason is touched when he receives a card by mistake and begins to correspond with the man who just wants to be loved. Jason and Ben begin to develop a close friendship, but Ben is still unsure if Jason could ever really want him.  He’s just a blue-collar worker and Jason is on his second master’s degree.

Tinnean has written a beautifully sweet story that wasn’t too sickly sweet or over the top sweet. It was a sweet that has you sighing, smiling and rooting for the characters. Ben comes home from work one day to find his boyfriend of seven years gone with just a brief note of explanation. Abiding by Rick’s wishes, Ben holds out for a couple of months before trying to contact him. But, instead he finds Jason. Jason is working on his second master’s degree and for fun he sends his sister greeting cards for any occasion. when he receives a card from a man trying to find his sweetheart, he replies to let him know he has the wrong address and it begins a greeting card relationship which develops into something more.

There is so much I loved about this book, it was written really well, the characters were brilliant, the storyline was sweet and romantic and Ben and Jason were ssssssooooooo wonderful. Ben has been put down badly over the years by his ex-boyfriend Rick. so much so that Ben really does believe that he has nothing to offer anyone. When Jason meets him he can’t believe that anyone would allow Ben to get away and jumps at the chance to have him for himself, defending Ben every chance he has and going so far as to contact the parents who Ben believes don’t want him for being gay.

The storyline flows smoothly, with the relationship taking months to develop and we are along for the journey as they fall in love. We are there as they discover the depths of Rick’s nastiness and as they begin to build a life together with Jason supporting Ben and encouraging him a hundred percent. There isn’t great passion in the story other than some kisses, but the story doesn’t let us down because of lack of sex. It actually enforces the relationship between Jason and Ben that we aren’t distracted by naked men. It’s a relationship that isn’t based on sex. It is so sweet and cute that even after they move in together, they still leave cards for each other lying around with messages in them… awwww.

I have to recommend this to the true romantics, those that want true love, rebuilding a man’s self-esteem, cute messages, the ex-boyfriend getting what he deserves and a very happy sweet ending.

Blurb: Ranger Cooper Heywood is on duty at Rocky Mountain National Park during Christmas. Alejandro Velez is an accomplished photographer. What Alejandro didn’t plan on is the instant desire he feels for Cooper… and what is that odd golden shimmer?

Ranger Cooper Heywood is on duty at the Rocky Mountain National Park during Christmas. It’s not a busy time of year, but there are some people he has to watch over including a photographer. In his experience photographers are a problem, but Cooper finds himself attracted to the handsome Latino who sets his blood on fire.

Alejandro Velez is an accomplished photographer with several coffee table books to his credit. He’s there to photograph the wintry landscape for his newest book. What he didn’t plan on is the instant desire he feels for Cooper who he always sees surrounded by an odd, golden shimmer. Alejandro doesn’t know what it means, but something tells him he’s going to find out.

NOTE from author: I have a book coming out through Silver Publishing on November 24th, it’s the ‘re-imagined’ version of the book formerly called Let it Snow which is now called Rocky Mountain Christmas. It’s now a light paranormal story — no bad guys but lots of fun with magic, ghosts and psychic powers–and I feel the story is much stronger for the addition of those elements.

Review: Cooper is a Ranger at the Rocky Mountain National Park. He’s working over the Christmas period watching over the people visiting the park and one of them is a photographer. A city photographer from Miami who will have no clue about the great outdoors in cold conditions. But, Cooper gets a surprise from the moment he meets Alejandro. Alejandro needs winter pictures for his coffee table book and he is starting to run out of time as conditions become harsh. But, a highlight is meeting Ranger Cooper and Alejandro begins to long for more than a brief holiday romance.

This is a good contemporary story with just a touch of paranormal thrown in to add to the atmosphere. Cooper is skeptical when he learns there is a photographer on the mountains. The last photographer caused more problems than he was worth. But, he rapidly changes his mind when he meets the sexy Latino Alejandro and as they spend time together he begins to long for more. Alejandro is blessed with some mysterious powers and when he meets Ranger Cooper he notices that he is surrounded by gold sparkles it prods something his Abuela told him, and he falls quickly for the sexy Cooper.  But, first both men have to survive a blizzard and the secrets that each man keeps.

I liked this story because it was quite simple. There wasn’t too much angst or danger other than being trapped by a blizzard. There was no one after them, no horror from the past… it was just about two men meeting and falling in love and both having slight paranormal powers.  Both struggling to have long-term relationships due mainly to their jobs, but finding in the other a kindred spirit. The slight spark of paranormal adds to the story, but don’t be expecting anything too fanciful or outrageous, they are gentle paranormal powers.

Both Cooper and Alejandro seem like great men. They are also simple men just living their lives. Both of them are lonely because of their occupations and also because of their paranormal abilities, but together they are something special. They find a love that completes them and the sex is plentiful and hot. I have also learned something new, when you are in the mountains and you can’t use the line ‘come and see my etchings’ you can use the line ‘help me find the camp stove popcorn’ loved it!

I recommend this to those who love slight paranormal powers, beautiful settings for love, finding true love, incredible hot sex, a slight touch of D/s and a very happy ending.

Review:  I have to say, while the story is very interesting, in order to really have done it justice it should have been longer. It needed fleshing out. There were three separate stories going on all at once, taking place in less than 100 pages. Then a quick and all too brief fourth story in the end. The story never fully satisfied any of the stories.

The concept was very intriguing and would have been a fantastic book if the author had taken time with each story and differentiated between each particular storyline. He started something then it petered out as he was just reaching a plateau and nothing happened. Made me think of a movie where things would come to a head, then nothing, over and over again and you would expect it to explode and all settle at the conclusion, but it did not.

The book claims “substantial sexually explicit scenes” but there is only one scene and there is absolutely nothing explicit about it. In fact, it is a voyeuristic episode from a third person, a child at that who is watching it happen. Then again in the end, the child has an item that allows him to help fulfill his own fantasies and all it does is creep a person out. I am just glad the author was smart enough to avoid actually creating a scene involving this child outside of him being a voyeur.

Too many other questions were posed and left unanswered. Heat and heart were very low. As for overall content, I have to say though, if I were giving it stars out of 5, I would give it a 3. Simply because the author was trying, that much is obvious. The story was very good, it just needed to be fleshed out and it would have been a real Christmas horror story worth reading again and again; especially if he had covered in more detail the reason for the story in the first place, the little monsters.

I will recommend this story simply because it does get your heart going in more than one spot. I would just recommend to the author to take this book and redo it, flesh it out, and republish. It has the true makings of a great horror story.

Review: For hundreds of years Archangel Michael has watched over a single soul. a soul that he has become drawn to, who he wishes to become close to and it makes Michael long to meet the soul. After his fall, Michael is helped by the soul whose name is Darcy and Michael receives everything he has ever longed for and he also gets a surprise he never foresaw.

This is a quite poignant story of a far distant longing of the forbidden. This is a beautifully written story that from the first word catches you with the pure longing that Michael feels for his charge. The build-up throughout the story is as though it is taking you to the pinnacle of a crescendo where Michael’s and Darcy’s fates are decided. The feelings of pure passion are described well and the connection between them is very tangible. While Darcy may never know Michael’s true beginnings, there is something in his soul that knows they are meant to be.

I recommend this to those who love the more spiritual angels, soul mates, beautiful love and the sacrifice of an Archangel from Heaven.

Blurb:  The Cajun’s first Christmas with his mate is filled with the promise of many things. Chief among them is a key for Evan St. Germaine’s house and a collar for Gideon Green. Their relationship has progressed far enough that they both feel like the most important people in their lives should come together at a special party for both the French Quarter Brats and Evan’s wolf pack. It is promised to be a very eventful party, and Gideon and Evan are hopeful for a wonderful time.

However, tensions arise as the party begins and outside influences cause the partygoers to fall under a spell designed to make them behave cruelly toward one another. Hateful words are exchanged, and Gideon leaves the house to escape the conversation. Little does he know that old friends are waiting for him and an unexpected Christmas intervention will make the celebration a bit more exciting than the couple originally planned.

NOTE! This is a holiday book featuring the characters from Pet du Cajun and is not stand-alone.

Review:  This story is part of a series which must be read in order. Evan has big plans for Christmas which include introducing Gideon to his pack. But, things don’t go to plan when the party for both sets of friends takes an unexpected turn and fears come to light. Can Evan convince Gideon that he wants him for good and can Gideon shake off his past and embrace what Evan offers him?

This is a good continuation of Rock Bottom Boys, letting us see how Gideon and Evan are progressing in their relationship. As Christmas approaches, Evan has decided that it is time to claim Gideon as his boy. He has the collar and a key to the house to give to Gideon, but Gideon has noticed that Evan hasn’t become his master fully yet and it has caused him unease. The insecurities break free during their party and when Gideon leaves he lands in trouble, and his friends and Evan’s have to come together to find him.

I must admit to having a bit of disquiet as I read at first because of how deep into the submissive mind-set that Gideon seemed to be in and how he seemed to pander to everything that Evan wanted, but I was soon set at ease as Gideon bit back with a snarl and showed that he still had his backbone. It is so easy sometimes for a character to get lost in the wants of others, but Jana Downs has these characters nicely balanced out, and although there is some butting heads from the dominate men; there was no walking all over the submissive men.

This is a really good book and we get to know the members of Evan’s pack, we meet Gideon’s friends and there is more from the vampire prince. We have a better idea of what is going on in New Orleans and there are some interesting connections made, and it is interesting to learn more about the paranormal aspects as well.

I will recommend this to those who love D/s relationships, hot sex, frustrating wolves, impish brats and a happy ending with the promise of more interesting stories to come.

Review: A very sweet Christmas story from Anna Lee that jumps right in the spirit of the Holidays.

Ethan is a very successful doctor, but after a very bad relationship at the beginning of his career he built a wall around his heart, only giving it all at his job. However when Trevor comes along, Ethan feels that wall threatened. In his fear, he pushes Trevor away. Being not only cold, but rude and hurting Trevor in the process. It’s only then, when his fellow gives up on him and completely avoids him, that Ethan realizes he’s having it bad for the charming doctor. In addition to feeling guilty for being a complete jerk, he understands that his life is lonely and if he keeps pushing people away, he’ll end up wasting his life. But, Trevor seems adamant to let him be, avoiding him at all costs. Now Christmas arrived and the only thing Ethan wishes for is another chance with Trevor, and since Santa can’t really help him, he has to win Trevor by himself.

As I said this is a sweet little story with dedicated doctors, amazing children not giving up even in the hospital and love waiting around the corner. I’d wish there was a bigger time-frame for the story, since all this happens very fast, but it didn’t threw me, I think it suited it a lot. Definitely worth a read.

Review:  I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It is very difficult to pull off this style of writing in this day and age. With as many times as this story has been told and as many different way in which it has been told over the many years, this is refreshing. I was glad to see it go beyond the HEA you want in these types of stories and show more than just his change of heart, but the allowance of long overdue love from the past. Good job.
