Review: I have read a few stories by this author and I must say that there are some I like and some that I don’t.
I have always felt that paranormals were my favorite especially when the male mates can get pregnant. Now I still feel that Aiden is rushing through the stories to get them done, however there is so much promise with the ones that I have read. This one was not only quirky but a blast. I still stand that there is nothing better than a good paranormal romance with two gorgeous men, well unless one of those sexy men can get pregnant.
Now this particular story has a bit of action and danger to it which made it rock. I do wish though that it had been longer. Also Danny was fighting everything to not be mated to an alpha. Although he liked Mike, he just didn’t want to be an alpha mate. So his dumb ass takes supplements to stop certain aspects, but it doesn’t stop Mike.
Now with this one Danny fights it, but then all of a sudden he gives in and is in love. I feel that if it had been flushed out a bit more it would have made it a great story. For me it just came off way to rushed to truly be what it should be.
One cannot really give you a good description of the story without giving it away, but it is a fun little read. I look forward to it because so far it is looking to be a hot little piece.
I would definitely recommend this.

Title: Champagne Kisses Series: N/A Author: Lynda Aicher Genre: Contemporary Romance Length: 92 pages Publisher: Riptide Publishing (December 14th 2015) Heat Level: Moderate Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥4 Hearts Blurb: The Christmas Eve wedding Evan Cleary pulled together in four weeks is crashing down around him and taking his fledgling event planning business with it. With an empty altar and over a hundred guests arriving soon, he turns to the resistant, gorgeous brother of the runaway groom for help.
When Richard Patterson’s flamboyant brother storms out hours before he’s scheduled to marry his equally dramatic partner, Richard is left dealing with the fallout. The last thing he wants is more drama, yet he can’t deny his attraction to the effeminate event planner trying to salvage the wedding.
Evan thinks his crush on Richard is a lost cause, but one steaming kiss later, he learns different. What starts as a night of hot sex turns into a connection neither expected. But Evan knows their relationship is hopeless unless the ultra-conservative Richard can embrace every part of him—both in private and in public.
Review: Evan Cleary has worked hard to start his own business as an event planner, scrimping and saving to build the business from the ground up. Now he fears it will take two jilted grooms about five minutes to tear it down. Evan thinks fast and with the assistance of one groom’s grumpy brother and check writing momma, Evan pulls off a fantastic Christmas party in place of the wedding and impresses everyone in the room.
Including Mr. Grumpy.
Richard Patterson labels Evan as flamboyant and femme from the start and puts a lid on his attraction to the cute Wedding Planner. Alcohol, atmosphere and an adorably frustrated Evan causes Richard to re-think that decision. The two share a heated kiss, but then Richard opens his big, fat mouth which riles Evan’s fur.
Thankfully, Richard is a pretty smart guy. he makes Evan an offer that is hard to refuse. One night, no strings, just sex.
Short and sexy… this was just a fast, funny read. The chemistry between Evan and Richard wasn’t evident at first. it took a few pages to get a feel for them overall. I thought Richards’s aversion to flamboyant, femme men then falling hard for one was a nice twist.
Evan aggravated me toward the end though, the way he tried to blow Richard off, I didn’t think it fit in the story the way it had been written up to that point.
Overall, this was a good read and I’d recommend it to anyone that likes fast reads with some substance and an electric connection between the two leads.

Title: The Unicorn Said Yes Series: N/A Author: T.A. Chase Genre: Contemporary/ Erotic, Romance/ Paranormal Length: 46 pages Publisher: Pride Publishing (December 29th, 2015) Heat Level: Moderate Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥3.75 Hearts Blurb: When an innocent human virgin meets the king of the unicorn herd. it’s not just legends that come true.
Ivan Brusilov goes to Unconventional to get a drink and let off some steam. Little does he realize he’ll be meeting his destiny when he walks in.
Carney Ferguson goes to the paranormal bar to celebrate his twenty-fifth birthday. Maybe he’s looking for some fun as well, considering he’s still a virgin. He doesn’t like admitting it, but when he meets Ivan, he discovers that being a virgin can bring opportunities that being experienced might not.
As the unicorn king and the virgin begin to fall in love, there are darker forces working behind the scenes to take advantage of the unicorn legends for their own evil purpose.
Neither Ivan nor Carney are safe alone, but together, they just might be strong enough to keep Ivan alive.
Publisher’s Note: This book has been previously released as part of the Unconventional in San Diego anthology by Pride Publishing.
Review: Carney, a human, goes to bar to celebrate his birthday where he meets the unicorn shifter king, Ivan. The two hit off immediately and the sparks flew. I loved the details about Ivan’s life but was disappointed in the fact that Carney’s were not as detailed and came in the middle of tense situation.
Carney seemed like a sweet young man who was not experienced. Ivan on the other hand had tons of experience. So they seemed like a perfect match. The forest in which Ivan resides was beautifully detailed.
Though I enjoyed the story I felt it was missing some things that would have made it so much better.
Good read.

Review:Each book in Rescue for Hire collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading or in this case listening the series in sequential order.
Treble is the one to watch out for. He is as mean as a snake and knows how to kill a man without making any marks. He is as deadly as can be, which is cute since he is also the shortest on the team. He was at one time a mercenary and knew how to kill. He also can sit back and just watch those around him. He seems to notice everything and everybody that is around him. Including the sexy pilot.
Damian has watched Treble watching him. He wants Treb but knows he has to go about it differently. He has to engage him and keep his attention, make him come to him for more. Damian catches his man, but realizes that there are a lot of people who want Treb to pay for who knows what.
I think out of all the guys and their partners at Rescue for Hire, Treb is my favorite one. He is a sweet man but very lethal. He is also straight and to the point type of guy. He is quirky as all get out also. When he is injured all it takes to keep him calm is to see Damian in front of him.
This story was well executed and gave me the perfect twists to make it even more enjoyable. I enjoyed the way the narrator made it flow off the pages and make it real for me. I truly enjoyed listening to this story. Of course I listened to it more than a dozen times and will continue to listen to it.
I would definitely recommend this audio book. Trust me it will keep you laughing, crying, and loving.

Jude Garrity visits the farmers market every Saturday. As an environmental engineering student, he’s curious about living off the grid and sustainable agriculture.
And one particular farmer.
Hudson Oliva has worked hard to support his commune, where queer people live without fear of harm or retribution. When Jude asks pointed questions about living there, Hudson realizes he needs to be honest about his home. Few people know what the farm is actually about, but Jude is insistent.
Jude moves to Kaleidoscope Gardens, however, his sexual hang-ups make it hard to adjust. He’s an uptight virgin living among people who have sex freely and with multiple partners. When Jude finally loosens up, Hudson is flooded with emotions. Falling for Jude wasn’t part of Hudson’s life plan. But when vindictive rumors about the commune begin to spread, love might be all he has left.
I’d like to thank MM Good Book Reviews for hosting my blog tour visit. Yesterday is a period piece, a stand-alone novel, set during the final months of the Pahlavi dynasty. The time and place aren’t conducive to romance, especially between two men, but love and logic aren’t always compatible as Kamran and Grady soon find out. Can a chance meeting alter one’s destiny? The answers are revealed within the pages of Yesterday.
The striking cover was designed by multitalented author and cover artist Catt Ford. Aside from the giveaways, which are listed on the Rafflecopter widget, I bring an exclusive excerpt. I hope you enjoy the sneak peek.

Review: This is the first time I have read a story by this author so I was not sure what to expect. Usually I avoid them but I must admit the cover caught my attention. It looked futuristic and very cool so I checked out the blurb to see what it would be like and I was captivated with the new feel of it. I have not read many stories that involve deep-sea mining on other planets. Sounded just like something I would want to read.
The first line of the first paragraph captivated me even more. I mean you are somewhere that is dark even when it is day light out. Kind of spooky if you ask me. I have to tell you that this story was one hell of a read. There is so much detail, depth and heat in it. It felt like I was underwater with them.
Sean was a rent boy not by his own choice at first. He soon found he was good at it, even though he hated it with a passion. He had to escape as everyone was looking for him and being a medic aboard a deep-sea mining ship was his best bet. He absolutely loved it and was falling for his captain. His very straight captain at that, but he kept his sexuality a secret fearing the worst. That is until Danny showed up and was going to throw him to the wolves.
Joel was straight but there was something about Sean that called to him. He is an ass to everyone but when the little prick Danny goes to destroy his family and ship, he knew it was up to him. What surprised him was his attraction to Sean and after that kiss he was looking for a way in.
This story is very captivating and I loved the adventure you get with these guys. I also loved how everyone on the ship was family even if they were not blood related. Joel is a hard ass but he loves his crew and it seems that his crew loves him back. The location was amazing and so damn real that it was freaky.
When I first got this I knew that it was going to be a great read but it wasn’t till I finished that I realized this is going to be a favorite story of mine.
I can’t wait to see what other stories this author has out.

Review: Second to None is the third book in Felice Stevens’ Breakfast Club series. If you’re new to this series, one-click “Beyond the Surface” and “Betting on Forever” to meet Julian and Nick, and Zach and Sam. You’ll LOVE them. And then you’ll be ready… for Marcus.
Playboy Marcus, my Marcus. Yes, unapologetic slut (I do love those) Marcus knocked me off my feet. I knew he had a heart of gold, and I knew, just knew when it was his turn to find love. He would fall hardest of all. And did he ever, meeting his match in Tyler.
A delightful surprise, the dancer gave as good as he got, made Marcus do some dancing of his own. There was no loving and leaving Tyler or his pint-sized secret weapon: his niece. Sweet with adorable little girl moments, Lillie helped Marcus to open up and love.
Marcus and Tyler struggled inwardly and with each other, battling life’s twists and turns.
Facing their fears together, they found themselves and their HEA. Added bonus: more of Marcus’s best friends and former MCs Nick/Julian and Zach/Sam, and a crossover with Micah (I love him; why doesn’t everyone else?) and Josh from the Memories series.
All of Felice’s books are sweet and sexy, but this one was more intense. The sexy scenes were crazy hot, and at the same time, so loving – everything I wanted them to be and then some. I love these two – great characters, wonderful writing, and what a story!
I am a diehard Felice fan. I crave that guaranteed HEA with those GOD-I-GOTTA-HAVE-THEM-SHMOOPY moments. This author is not afraid to have her guys speak their feelings, show their softer side. And these very same oh-so-sweet men will steam the hell out of a room when they rip each other’s clothes off. Especially Marcus and Tyler – the intensity in both the love and sex – Ladies and Gents, this is Felice Stevens at her best.
I am sad for the series’ end (Julian, Zach and Marcus have all found love), though that is eased by the Zach and Sam novella just weeks away. After that? We’ll see what the lovely Ms. Stevens conjures up next.
I know neither I nor the Fiercest of Felice’s fans can wait!!!

Title: Hell & High Water Series: THIRDS, #1 Author: Charlie Cochet Narrator: Mark Westfield
Genre: Paranormal Romantic Suspense Length: 10 hours and 6 minutes Publisher: Dreamspinner Press LLC (October 3, 2014) Heat Level: Moderate Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥5 Hearts Blurb: When homicide detective Dexter J. Daley’s testimony helps send his partner away for murder, the consequences – and the media frenzy – aren’t far behind.
He soon finds himself sans boyfriend, sans friends, and, after an unpleasant encounter in a parking garage after the trial, he’s lucky he doesn’t find himself sans teeth. Dex fears he’ll get transferred from the Human Police Force’s Sixth Precinct, or worse, get dismissed. Instead, his adoptive father – a sergeant at the Therian-Human Intelligence Recon Defense Squadron otherwise known as the THIRDS – pulls a few strings, and Dex gets recruited as a Defense Agent.
Dex is determined to get his life back on track and eager to get started in his new job. But his first meeting with Team Leader Sloane Brodie, who also happens to be his new jaguar Therian partner, turns disastrous.
When the team is called to investigate the murders of three HumaniTherian activists, it soon becomes clear to Dex that getting his partner and the rest of the tightknit team to accept him will be a lot harder than catching the killer – and every bit as dangerous.
Review: I have always loved books from a young age, no matter where I went I had a book in my hand. As I got older I came across audible cd’s and picked up one figuring it would be great for the drive back and forth to work. Now those were m/f books and wasn’t as tuned into them as I should have been.
Then a couple of years ago I got into m/m romance stories and I was hooked. So much so that I would think about them at work. So I went online to find m/m romance on cd’s and came across audible stories that I could download to my iPod.
When I came across Charlie Cochet I knew I had found a series that I would love. So I downloaded this story and I have got to tell you that I probably listened to it four or five times this week alone. It not only gives you a story but the way it is told I hear Dex in my head even when I am sleeping.
Dex had just testified and sent his partner to prison for murder. Having really no options since the bosses were basically kicking him to the curb, not really they sent him to work for the Thirds. Thirds is also called Therian-Human Intelligence Recon Defense. Which in a way was a good thing, he would get to work with his adoptive father and brother.
Dex is a riot and will always have a spot in my heart. He always has a joke on hand and even when life is hard, he is always in a good mood. He had been worried about meeting his team after being told that they looked out for themselves. However he met his moody team leader and his partner, and was turned the hell on. He is the perfect man for this team though.
Sloan had not just lost his partner to a killer but also the man was his lover. He didn’t want to replace the man he loved, but was being forced to. His first meeting Dex was not on the best of terms, but he was determined to work through it. After all he had been warned that he needed a partner. After a while he noticed that Dex was helping not only him but his team. Now all he had to do is to find out who was killing the humans.
What caught my attention first was the cover of the book. It was beautifully made and had me wanting the man on the cover even more. Then there is the beautiful man telling the story. Mark Westfield has got to be one of the best story tellers I have ever heard. He managed to give Dex this cheerful tone while as giving Sloan a gruff superior voice. At the same time he made me see Ash as… well, an ass. He gave each guy a unique voice that you hear even when you are not listening to the story. He brought the guys to life for me and I was amazed with the way he did it.
I love how there was heat between Dex and Sloan although they were fighting it. These two are meant to be together. I loved the way the guys just seem to overcome their difficulties even though it is a fight for Sloan. Here he is a tough alpha shifter who has to lead his team while trying to get over the loss of his lover. You can feel the pain he was in and it was intense. I also loved the way the heat just keeps building between them, plus the attitudes of all of the team is just an added bonus for me.
As I have said I listened to this probably four or five times this week alone, and ran to grab the rest as soon as they were available. It has probably become one of my favorite all time stories and I will continue to listen to them while at work or on the go. It is not a short story so I get to spend most of the day listening to it.

Title: Harm’s Way Series: N/A Author: Geoffrey Knight Genre: Romantic Suspense Length: 289 pages Publisher: Wilde City Press (January 18th 2016) Heat Level: Explicit Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥5 Hearts Blurb: Zach Taylor is a successful businessman, but his ascension up the corporate ladder has not been without its fair share of losses, including his five-year-old daughter Isabelle, with whom he has all but lost contact.
But his cold world, his frozen existence, is about to melt into a fiery hell.
For Zach is about to discover that his father was a serial killer.
Can the craving for killing be passed down from parent to child? Does murder flow in his veins? What kind of legacy has been lurking in the shadows of his past, waiting to step out of the darkness and reveal his true nature? And who is the handsome, mysterious stranger Zach now finds himself falling for?
In the abandoned home of his childhood, the haunted visions of his past will once again become terrifyingly real.
And Zach will be forced to meet his fate—whoever he may be.
Imagine if you will, having a few drinks then accompanying the gorgeous guy at the bar back up to his room for some mind-blowing sex. Then waking up in a park, in the arms of an Angel statue, buck ass naked with no memory of how you got there. That is just a bad day all around. It gets better though, when said gorgeous guy goes missing.
Zach Taylor is at the top of his game at his firm. He’s young, successful and single, has the world at his fingertips. That lovely evening I just mentioned leaves him frazzled and fraying, trying to remember. Things go from bad to worse when questioning eyes fall on him. And then an old lady with a box and a couple of tears sends Zach down a spiraling staircase toward a past he has only briefly remembered in his dreams.
Nate Shaw is big, brooding, sexy and oh so charming. His blue eyes and blinding white teeth go from menacing to sexy too quickly for my liking, but it definitely got Zach’s attention. Hold up in a basement, waiting out a snow storm, the two keep warm the old-fashioned way. Shared body heat. The thing is, Nate either has the best or the worst timing imaginable. He blows into Zach’s life right when everything is falling apart.
Wow. This book kind of blew my mind. I opened it with the intention to read a chapter or two between loads of laundry and, two hours later I read ‘The End’ and my mind is still spinning.
Knight just took me on a journey through the twisted mind of a mad man, and the uncertain mind of another that thinks he’s going mad. I figured a couple of things out early on, I wouldn’t say predictable, I’m just an avid crime story watcher so the clues were screaming at me. That being said, I have to wonder if Knight didn’t leave those clues on purpose, bread crumbs if you will, to take my attention off the truth.
This was a murder mystery full of twists and turns. Right about the time you think you have it all figured out, you really don’t. So well written that even at the very end, two pages left to go, there was another twist that had me holding my breath. Be warned, there is some darkness in this story, murder, madness, mayhem and pure evil. Knight’s imagination is both fantastic, and terrifying.
So if you are looking for a book that you can sink your teeth into, a book that will hold your attention from start to finish, a story so engrossing you can’t look away as you read through your fingers… well then, this book will certainly do.

Review: This is a fabulously fantastic story – I can’t conjure the words to express how much I loved and enjoyed this book. I’m not sure what exactly in this book makes it so fantastic but I do think that it is a refreshing change from other books.
This is the first book I’ve read by Savannah Smythe and going by this wonderful book, I will definitely read more of her work in the future. The flow, pace and characters of the book were excellent and easy to follow. It was also easy to suspend my disbelief when I needed to.
I know many people will cringe when I make this comparison but it is completely true.
In my mind this is the MM version of a Mills and Boon novel, reminding me of stories by Melanie Milburne and Carol Marinelli I read in the past.
The story is about Robin Martyn, born and raised in London and from a wealthy family, he never really got over his father’s suicide. Only after a lot of effort did he ever find out that his father was gay and his mother (a complete bitch) swept the truth and the scandal under the proverbial rug.
He is the middle of five siblings though his eldest brother no longer spoke to the family and his youngest sister has been groomed to be a carbon copy of their horrible mother. Robin is now 35 and has angered everyone in the family, except his twin sister, Geri, for getting a divorce. This is where we get a lot of action from the thoroughly spoilt and bitchy youngest sister. A chance encounter with Lexington Black, a New York businessman, changes his life though. The revelations that he, like his father, is gay the main point to all of this.
The plot is very simple and the blurb provides all the necessary details. But one thing that the blurb does allude to is a secret that could damage Robin and Lex’s relationship before it really starts. Honestly, I figured it out as soon as there was the slightest hint of what the secret could be. However, when all hell did break loose, I thoroughly enjoyed how it was dealt with. I like that Robin didn’t just decide to forgive Lex. Most of all, I liked that we got to see more of Lex’s humanity.
The story is almost entirely from Robin’s POV (though he does not narrate it). However, Lex also has his say, which he does narrate. I like that there was a clear distinction between the two POVs and I also loved that I got to get more into Lex’s head this way. There is more to him than a wealthy businessman who would do anything to get the man he wants in his bed. He is an immediately likable character and his personal POVs once more make him more human.
Thoroughly enjoyable, if you like the whole wealthy businessman taking the lover he wants through any means necessary, this is your thing. There is an element of fairytale romance with a healthy injection of reality when it comes to ending.
I loved this so much I think I would read it again sometime!

Title: Fate Series: N/A Author: Rob Rosen Genre: Contemporary/Humor Length: 263 pages Publisher: MLR Press (November 18th, 2015) Heat Level: Explicit Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥5 Hearts Blurb: One man, four lovers, and just ten years to choose one set the Hollywood stage in this hilarious coming of age tale of family, friendship, and fate.
Eddie is in love. The problem is, Eddie’s in love with four men… four men simultaneously, that is. But who does Eddie love more? And can the heart feel for that many men equally? Ah, but it does have four chambers, so four seems the most logical choice… at least, of course, to Eddie.
Paula is Eddie’s famous mom. One by one, each of his lovers comes to work for her, their lives so connected that if one of them itches, another one scratches. But who will wind up with whom in this comedic tale of life and love and friendship? In the end, it’s up to fate to decide what none of them could possibly have seen coming.
Review: This book was a real dark horse for me – I didn’t realise that I would love it as much as I have. Fate is a fantastic coming of age book by Rob Rosen that follows one young man through life, love and gradually becoming part of a Hollywood fame engine.
As the blurb reads, the story is about Eddie. In fact, Eddie tells the entire story – superbly too, since I never once wondered what the other characters were thinking throughout the book. Eddie brings us through his formative years, but the story really starts when he turns fifteen and ends with Eddie in his mid-20s – the guts of the books is mostly when Eddie goes through college.
And now we come to the four men. I rarely ever like stories which have even a whiff of cheating in them, but I have to say, I was more than willing to overlook any issues regarding faith and loyalty with this one. I think because a) Eddie and his friends match so well, b) I’m guessing that these guys are confusing love and friendship for a good many years until they reach the point where they “grow up”.
The first of Eddie’s men is Brian. These guys have been friends since they day they were born. Both of them were born in the same hospital after their respective mother unexpectedly went into labour. The women, who were light years apart in so many ways, became friends and so did their sons, even when they were separated by both time and distance.
Brian doesn’t seem confused by his sexuality, but I think the best description is fluid considering the girlfriends he gets. Personally, by the end of it, I think that Brian is a bit of a dick but considering Eddie’s behaviour both Eddie and I, as the reader, decided to overlook that.
Then there was Curtis (real name John, its complicated). Curtis is Eddie’s college roommate and after realising they were both gay became friends with benefits, even when Curtis started seeing Aaron. Later on, Aaron also becomes one of Eddie’s men.
During college though, Eddie meets up finding Brian again and this is how he meets Trevor, a friend of Brian’s. Eddie cannot fathom the feelings he feels for each of the men and once all the characters are into play, the guessing game starts (though in the back of my mind what actually happens I thought would be the obvious solution).
And if that isn’t complicated enough, this is only half of the plot!
The other half revolves around Eddie’s comedienne mother, Paula, who maintains a happy family life with her husband and kids, Eddie and Elsie as well as going on the road to perform. As the years pass Paula gains more and more popularity until the point where her fame explodes into Hollywood madness and her whole family is sucked into the Hollywood Machine.
Nonetheless, she manages to keep her head – for the most part – and makes sure she has her husband (I can’t honestly recall reading his name) and kids nearby. Eddie’s father shies away from the fame and business side of things; rather he is his wife’s rock. Eddie on the other hand, who had joined his mother on the road throughout his childhood and was a popular part of her routine, begins to take the business side of things over. On their mother’s coat tails, one by one, after drifting apart from his men, they are each brought into the family fold.
There are plenty of other characters in this complex story, but you’ll just have to read it. Eddie is charming, just like his mother. It is difficult not to love them both because in a way both Eddie and Paula are the main characters, though they share the spotlight with at least another six characters. It’s a sweet fairytale of Hollywood with some relatable personal points when it comes to finding love and all the rest.
I’d like to think that this is a book that appeals to everyone, but if you like New Adult, Hollywood, great families, lots of sex and lots of sweetness this is the book for you.

Review: Edwin is an artist living in conservative Kentucky. He wants to break free, but fear holds him back. He meets Will on the bus. They share a pleasant conversation, where Will tells Edwin he’s moving to New York City. In just that short period of time, Will manages to convince Edwin to consider art schools there. Months pass, and Edwin has followed his dream, and he’s now working in a NYC Starbucks, going to art school. He keeps thinking about Will, and he often fantasizes about seeing him again.
Fate is on his side because one evening Will actually comes into Edwin’s Starbucks. They share conversation, and Will gives him his number, and of course, Edwin promptly loses it. Again, months pass, and on Valentine’s Day, they run into each other again. This time, there’s not a chance in the world they’re going to get away from each other.
I wanted to like this book. I love the whole star-crossed lovers thing. I love when serendipity brings a couple together. I just couldn’t get into this one, though. I’m not sure if it was because it was such a short story, but I do know that I was distracted by repetitive words and some editing issues.
When the men finally do come together, it’s cute, and their sex scene was pretty hot, but I was completely turned off by a quote from Edwin at the very end. Edwin climbs out of bed when they finish, and Will asks him where he’s going. The response was, “To get rid of the sack of semen on my dick”.
Look, I read erotic romance every day, and I’ve read some very dirty things, but that one sentence turned a decent and romantic scene into something a bit on the vulgar side.
I was also disappointed that the story was over at 37%, and another story followed, rather than making “The Big Apple” longer. Some extra character development and some time for Will and Edwin to get to know each other better (and maybe even another hot sex scene or two), would have made me happy.
Since there is a second story, I’ll give you a quick rundown of it. There is a huge blizzard, cancelling all flights. The airline is offering lodging for the displaced passengers. Three men and one woman (with an EXTREMELY unhappy baby) all wind up at a bed and breakfast run by a strange couple. They all mad, and they’re taking it out on each other and the owners.
As their time there goes on, they seem to relax…even though they refuse to play the games that the B&B’s owners want to play. One of the men is a doctor, and he’s very uptight, but he begins to take pity on the baby’s suffering mother. The other two men wind up bunking together in the same room…literally bunking…as in bunk beds. As with the mommy and doctor, they begin to get along, and they eventually realize that they should be together.
I hate to say it, but I resented this story. I wanted more of the men from “The Big Apple”. I didn’t care for any of these characters. I felt that they were all self-absorbed and snarky and I got kind of a twisted thrill from their misery.
I really wish that both stories could have been…I don’t know…MORE.
Title: Yesterday Series: N/A Author: Mickie B. Ashling Genre: Historical Romance/ New Adult Length: 200 Pages Publisher: Dreamspinner Press (January 22, 2016) Heat Level: Moderate Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥4 Hearts Blurb: In June of 1978 Grady Ormond, eighteen-year-old son of diplomat Peter Ormond, accompanies his father to his new posting as US Ambassador to Pakistan. Neighboring Iran is on the brink of a civil war, with the monarchy in danger of being overthrown.
Grady will be leaving for New York City in late August to study cinematography and has been warned to keep his homosexual orientation tightly under wraps while on vacation. Repercussions in the predominantly Islamic region could be severe.
On their first night in Karachi, his father hosts a cocktail party to meet the local dignitaries. Grady is introduced to His Highness Prince Kamran Izadi, nephew of the shah of Iran. Twenty-three-year-old Kamran has recently returned from the UK, where he spent eleven years, first as a student, and then as a financial analyst.
The attraction is immediate—unforeseen and dangerously powerful—but neither one dares to make a move. Odds are so stacked against them it’s futile to even entertain a friendship, but they do, and their world tilts precariously.
With his country in turmoil and Grady about to leave for college, Kamran makes a decision that will change their lives forever.
Review: This is the first time I have read a story by this author so I was not sure what to expect. Usually I avoid them but I have heard good things about her so I knew I had to at least see. Then the second problem came when I realized it was a historical romance. I have never been a fan of them only because they come off so dry and boring. However I actually found myself enjoying this story.
I have read a few things on the Middle East, so I knew what would happen if they were found out. So I pretty much was on the edge of my seat just waiting to see what was going to happen next. This story actually did a pretty good job of keeping it straight, so to speak.
Grady is the son of a diplomat and is about to go to Pakistan with his family. He was warned to never let anyone know that he is gay over there. He is told to keep it quiet because the punishment would be harsh if anyone ever knew. Then Grady meets the Prince at a party held by his father and he is in deep trouble. It would seem Kamran feels the same way and also knows what will happen if it is ever found out.
Kamran is from Iran and knows full well of the dangers if anyone found out that he was gay. He is trying to spend what freedom he has left having a bit of fun. Then he is being forced in to an arranged marriage. To be gay is a death sentence so the two must hide what they feel or they will both die.
Now my main problem was the fact that Grady flirted with Kamran, and I felt like slapping him silly. He definitely comes off as a teenager.
He was warned over and over not to flirt, and he said he understood it. However he kept on doing it, which would have gotten them killed if this had not been a romance story. He was well written as was Kamran. They were fully developed and had a lot of depth to them both. It felt like I was right there with them. Still wanted to smack the shit out of Grady though.
The story was very well written and definitely sparked my interest. It felt like I was right there with them, going to the markets and seeing all those people. Although I think I would rather stay in America that is for sure. Over all I must say that Grady was an idiot throughout the whole story and it definitely was fun to read about him. I still say that historicals will never be a story that I would want to read.
My attention was not as captivated as it should have been but only because it was not my favorite type of story. I like my guys a bit older, a bit wiser and a bit more sex. Also I am one for more modern type of stuff that this story did not have. I have to say that I never really thought 1970s would be historical but it was fun to hear it. I did enjoy this story to a point, but it was not for me.
However it is definitely worth reading and I would recommend it.

(The Minnow Saint James Metaphysical Adventures 02)
by
Christopher Stone
For gay, metaphysical sleuth Dr. Minnow Saint James, the workplace spans time, space, dimensions, and the entirety of the vast, incomprehensible affair that is God’s Creation.
At forty, Dr. Minnow Saint James, “Minn” to his friends, is a gay, metaphysical sleuth who, through Past Life Regression therapy, spans time, space, dimensions, and the entirety of God’s Creation to discover the past, or future, life origins of his patient’s most challenging present day problems.
Minn did not always hold his current beliefs. He was born into an affluent, atheistic, Republican family in Beverly Hills, California, and raised to believe only what his five physical senses reported.
In 2001, after receiving his doctorate from UCLA, Minn opened a highly successful traditional Hypnotic Regression therapy practice in Beverly Hills.
For six years he enjoyed his life, until a patient spontaneously regressed herself to a past life in Eighth Century Coba, turning Minn’s world upside down. Soon he was questioning his entire worldview.
Now Minn is hoping that his past just might save his future.

The Backup

I’m supposed to be better than this. I’m supposed to have a tenure-track job teaching music history to undergrads, writing papers about Bach, and proving to kids like me that you can work your way out of Harlem. I’m not supposed to be following a rock star around the country, fetching his mail, making sure his groupies are of age.
I’m definitely not supposed to be sleeping with said rock star, who claims to be the Greek God Dionysus. At first I thought it was a load of crap. Nik’s fans might think his music captures their hearts—and souls—but I knew better. Until one of Nik’s orgiastic concerts gets out of hand and I don’t know which is worse: that he might be a god after all, or that he has a body count.
Nik doesn’t care what I want or what I should be. He wants to tear down the world I’ve built, warping all I am, until his music is all that’s left of me. I can’t let him do that. I shouldn’t believe in him. I’ve seen what happens to the people who believe in him.
