Blurb: Zaree Muna’s loyalty to her brother Tasis has taken her to some strange places, but she never could’ve predicted ending up where she now finds herself. The victims of a spell, Tasis and his familiar are unable to wake, leaving Zaree and her allies to face the mad king of Archai on their own. Their quest brings them face-to-face with the Maker herself, and she offers a dire prophecy: they’ll suffer three deaths as they fight for the fate of their world. They’ll lose two people close to them before the final death threatens their chance of victory.

But Zaree isn’t planning to give up—not on Tasis’s dream and not on their future. If that means staring down death, she’s ready. A thousand years is too long to let their struggles end in anything but triumph.

Review: A lot happens in this conclusion to the series. Zaree takes up the reigns as Tasis is unable to. This book takes on a life of it’s own with a slew of characters that really add depth to the book. The journey itself is filled with danger and help from friends and allies.

I really enjoyed this addition. I was not expecting some of the twists and turns that happened so that was a pleasant surprise. I liked that unanswered questions from previous books were answered. Characters that were barely mentioned got their just dues in this exciting conclusion to the series.

Great read.

Review: Jorget has to hide his magical abilities from all but his mentor. In a time where magic users are executed by an evil king hell bent on destroying the newly reformed guild Jorget is given a task to find a weapon before the king finds it and uses it to undue the guild for good.

Tasis and Edwin take running and keeping the island and guild safe from bigotry and persecution. As such Edwin sets out to find the weapon before the king does. This sets in motion a grand adventure where even more twists and turns and secrets are revealed.

New characters are introduced in this exciting sequel as the action heats up. I love this series. The characters are very intriguing and all play a role in the story. I was on the edge of my seat as the story unfolded.

Great read.

Blurb: Past and present are about to collide, and the world will never be the same.

Magic has been missing from the world for a millennium, and it’s needed now more than ever. It falls to young Tasis Kadara to revive the fabled Mages’ Guild of the Dragon’s Claw. But in a culture where arcane power is forbidden and practitioners are executed, Tasis will have to keep his own aptitude for magic secret. With nothing to direct them besides bizarre dreams and a mysterious cat, Tasis and his sister Zaree undertake a quest to discover the hidden island that was once home to the guild.

Kelwin Tiovolk departs his village following his mentor’s suggestion. As an elf wandering into human civilization, he’s in danger simply for being who he is. A brawl at an inn leads him straight into the path of the young man he’s been dreaming about, and he’s compelled to help Tasis and his sister any way he can. Together, the trio might have a chance of accomplishing their mission—or the attempt might kill them.

Review: Tasis starts having dreams that seem very real to him after his mother passes. With his sister Zaree the two set off to find an island that neither has heard of until now. The Dragon’s Claw is where The Mage’ Guild once was until a power ma king tried to take the magic by force. The results were catastrophic.

The adventure was well written with Tasis and Zaree facing danger and meeting new allies along the way. Kelwin accompanies the two when he finds out where they are headed. Zelwin and Tasis made a cute couple but there was no real romance in the story. Tasis finds out who he is actually related to and what his role is in the grand scheme of things.

I loved how the story progressed. The adventure was awesome with it’s twists and turns and eye opening dreams. A wonderful read with plenty of details surrounding the dragon’s claw and explanations regarding the past and what happened.

Awesome story.

Blurb: Karl Kringle hates the modern-day Christmas. He was born to be Krampus, but the Holiday Council refuses to let him help his brother Nick—aka Santa Claus—with the Naughty List until he finds his holiday spirit. To meet that challenge, he’s turned human and dumped in a strange apartment.

Lewis Weatherby loves the holidays and always has. Not only do his parents own a pumpkin patch and tree farm, he’s also inherited a Christmas-themed shop. All he wants from Santa is the man of his dreams, and the Big Guy might’ve just delivered. Lewis’s new neighbor Karl is gorgeous, sweet, and has a fantastic sense of humor—if his jokes about being Krampus are any indication.

Soon getting home is less important to Karl than what will happen when Lewis inevitably realizes the truth behind his jokes. He’s finally starting to understand the real joy of the season—now he just has to figure out how to hold on to it.

Review: I cannot put into words how much I love this book. Actually, I can, but I need to say the former to get my point across. From memory I think this is the first time I’ve ever ready anything by Andi Van and I have to say that this book was a fantastic introduction to a new-for-me author. The writing style is so easy to follow, the emotion from the MCs just grabbed me from the get go and the plot is simply wonderful.

If you’re into books based on mythology, then this is a great Christmas read for you. We are introduced to the usually maligned Christmas figure of Krampus. He’s definitely a grumpy guy, but he’s a grumpy guy with a heart of gold and he is angry at the Holidays for a very good reason. Krampus (aka Karl) is pretty pissed because he is never allowed to help his beloved twin brother, Nick (aka Santa), because he lacks Christmas spirit. It is his brother-in-law (Santa’s cross dressing husband, Noel) who sends Karl into the mortal realm and makes him appear human (his usual appearance is somewhere between Satyr and run of the mill “beast”). This is where Karl meets Lewis and the real story begins.

Karl and Lewis match each other perfectly. They are truly wonderful characters and I fell in love with them both. I really liked the fact that Lewis was made to be a man in his forties, unlucky in love instead of a twink in his early twenties, which is what usually happens in these kinds of stories. They work well together, though you will have to suspend your disbelief for a while when Karl keeps telling Lewis he’s Krampus and Lewis doesn’t go running in the opposite direction. The minor characters are absolutely wonderful too: from Nick and Noel, to Lewis’ friend Jerry and one of the many minions from the Holiday Council, Rimble. If nothing else it has sparked my interested in this world and really makes me wish for more!

Review: All right! This is definitely one of the most amusing shifter stories I’ve read in a long while. As in the beginning of the story makes you laugh hard and shake your head and try stilling the giggles that threaten to get out all over again.

I loved it! It is indeed an instant love sort that normally would have running the other way, but the sweet Nature-child in me, simply couldn’t be bothered with that when I was faced with an astonishing elk. A drunk elk! A drunk talking elk! Oh my, I’m still grinning at that.

So yeah, this story is not just a paranormal/holiday story (Winter Solstice mind you not Christmas) it’s actually a lovely romance decorated head to toe with humor and some really lovely men. It’s fast, it’s engaging, it’s hot and sensual, and it’s a bit emotional too. Most of all it’s so light and funny it makes you read through it with a single-minded determination until the sappy awww-inspiring end comes and makes you melt just because.

I grew a particular fondness for Haven here and somehow I wanted so much more from this character. I wouldn’t mind a novel of his own at all.

As it is, I find this story a lovely addition for all the fans of paranormal romance. Very well, worth it and I believe you’ll enjoy the heck out of it. Recommended!
