Blurb: Anderson St John can’t muster the nerve to face his longtime crush, Morgan Brookes. They finally meet during the week of Halloween. This leads to dating and his school’s costume dance, where a long-dead pilot makes his presence known.

Finding the nerve to meet his crush is difficult for high school senior Anderson St John. Often, he stands in front of Morgan Brookes’ store windows during his training runs.

Intrigued by the teenager peering inside, Morgan wants to know more, and invites him inside, just to talk. This leads to dating and a decision to attend the Halloween dance at Anderson’s school. Morgan uses his considerable talents to create authentic costumes for them both… but the night of the dance, a long-dead World War II ace pilot makes his presence known.

Review: Anderson has the hoots for Morgan, who owns a store that he runs past every day… okay twice a day, but he hasn’t the courage to go in and talk to the man.  Until the day that Gandalf decides to nudge them along. Morgan has noticed his *jogger stalker* and now finally has the chance to meet him, he is fascinated by the younger man.

Okay, so I was a bit thrown and concerned at first with the way this progressed, until I found out the ages of the main characters.  That put everything before in a much better light and didn’t make me feel like I was reading about a dirty old man who was perving on a school kid. Sorry had to get that out first. This is a well written story that touches on bullying in schools. Anderson comes across as older than he is because of how he pushes himself and also because he is his mother’s caregiver, as well.

Morgan and Anderson make a sweet couple; both of them get to know the other and decide to take it slow. The descriptions in this book are wonderful.  The part where Anderson is making a meal for Morgan had my mouth-watering… hmmm brownies. The ghost aspect came on suddenly and caused Anderson to act out of character although the ending was touching as two souls are reunited after many years apart and the hint that there would be heartache for Anderson in the near future.

The interaction between all the characters was really good… even that with the bullies. Anderson’s mom and Morgan’s sister added to the development of both the MCs and we saw a more relaxed and playful side to both of them.

I will recommend this to those who want a great story-line, a gentle relationship, some hot making out, a haunted jacket and a happy for now ending that has two more stories to come.
