Review: This book left me with a bittersweet feeling. I did not like everything that happened and how it all played out. That made it hard for me to write this review and most likely flavored it a bit
Blaze seemed to be the focus of this book. He had several things he needed to work through.

The first is being a father.

He has no idea how to do it and makes mistakes along the way when the child is born that alienates Aden. To lead this even farther events occur that leads him to hurt one of his mates. He goes off by himself and while distracted by his own emotional issues, gets captured himself in trouble with no way out.

Let me just say Madden is totally bat shit crazy. The things he plans to do to reach his goals are really sickening. Hell the things he does manage to do are sickening. Anyway, enough to say he left me feeling icky.

I do love the way Victoria Sue writes. There is so much descriptive wording that really allows me to visualize things as they happen. I really feel like I get pulled into the story as I read them. Even if I hate what is happening, I can still feel the characters emotions.

The sexual elements were very well done. And it was actually beautiful at times the love the mates show to each other. There was tenderness and caring in their touches. I really love how they all are together.

Throughout the book I never got the feeling of how everything was going to end. And I was totally shock. It left me reeling. I so did not see it coming. It left me feeling heartbroken. Even after it was all said and done and good things come of it, I still felt like something was missing.

I do appreciate the fact that I was left with the feeling that there is more to come. And that this is perhaps not the final ending. I really hope so.

I will be looking forward to the next book in the series.

Review: Cute story about a doctor who is asked to do an in-home therapy session for one of his hot patients. Unfortunate, the hot patient thinks the good doctor is straight.

I found it funny when Landon kept hinting that he wanted Zack, but Zack seemed unsure if he flirting or not. The subtle hints were obvious to me. Though I did understand Zack’s concern for getting involved with a patient and ruining his career I was glad when they finally got together near the end.

I enjoyed this story and wished it had been longer. There was some drama, hot sex and two sexy males thrown into the mix to make a good read.

Review: This is a story of heartbreak and loss yet over time learning to live again with someone else and the coming to terms with the past and betrayal. I loved both Alexx and Raoul, wolf shifter. Raoul’s pain was so intense I could actually feel the loneliness and sadness with each word and detail. My heart broke for him at what he had gone through. I was hoping throughout the story he would be able to move forward eventually and find happiness again because that amount of pain is not good for anyone.

Alexx intrigued me as well as had me laughing when he went to Charisma, a nightclub owned by Raoul, with an older friend and a fake ID. I was sure he would not have been allowed to enter. He seemed sure of himself yet a little wary of things which were to be expected after what happened between Raoul and Alexx.

Alexx wants to be an investigative journalist but works in the mail room. The whispering on the wind not to mention the atmosphere of the book at times left a spooky impression which had me on the edge of my seat as the story progressed.

I was horrified to learn of what happened to Raoul’s previous lover Jamie and the reason why someone setup Raoul to be blamed for it. Such a senseless reason for killing someone if you ask me, but that is sometimes the way the story goes.

I really felt, all throughout the story, that I was witnessing things as they happened as there were fantastic details all throughout. Not to mention the emotional aspect had me going through all the emotions.

I would highly recommend this fantastic story to anyone. I absolutely loved it and am looking forward and very excited to read the next book in the series.

Review: I must admit I had a lot of trouble with this story. I was continuously struggling trying to figure out what certain terms meant not to mention a few things about Leviss and his so-called psychic voice. Why would Leviss take an assignment to be the bodyguard of an ambassador when he did not like them due to his ex? It made absolutely no sense to me.

The voice or visions were annoying a little as they happened frequently at the beginning. Najee annoyed me when he seemed to know things before Levissa and never told him. The sex was hot.

While I love science fiction stories this one had me scratching my head as to what was happening. I think it would have been better if there had been more details and the story was longer. As it was, it seemed like it was written without the much-needed details that would help the reader understand things more clearly.

Review: You are purchasing Siren’s newest imprint, the Siren Epic Romance collection. This is Book 1 of 7 in the Chronicles of the Shifter Directive series. The series shares an overall story arc with many crossover characters playing major roles in each book. These books are not stand-alone and should be read in their numbered order.

If there was a way to give a book higher marks than I would have made this one on the scale of six in heart ratings. This story was so different in many of the ways paranormals are written. You read many stories about werewolves and vampires being killed by humans and this is not the case.

It is bad enough when you’re a paranormal and all the others are trying to kill you or destroy you. However when it is your own family, they are in definite need of help. Several hundred years ago the originals were born. Talrasar and Kaelezrin were mates. Tali was a Fae and Kael was a black dragon. A black dragon was considered pretty much bad news. They consumed all energies from everyone around them.

However Tali was never afraid of him. Even when the war going on around them involving the wolves and vampires, plus the plague going on around them. The only way to save everyone was for Kael to take Tali’s energy from him and destroy it all. The problem was it killed them both. They had committed suicide to save those around them.

Now with the dangers that everyone is having, and Sari’s brother trying to kill him, it is time for them to come back. They save Sari’s baby and those around them, but it does cause some problems. It is a bit hard to understand how two dead can come back to life. The dangers are coming out of the woodwork and now they all have to find out who the traitor is, destroy those who are trying to kill them and save themselves while they are at it.

I must admit that even though I loved this book, there was so much description that parts are a bit harder to follow. It didn’t affect me too bad though, I couldn’t stop reading it. It gave me everything I could possibly want in a story if not more. I love the different paranormals that are in these books.

I was not so sure about the woman with all the snakes in her hair though. She sounded quite freaky but it was a blast to read. I love how there is so much danger, and you can tell that each character loves the other, but they have to fight for their love. I loved this book and look forward to reading the next book.

I would recommend reading this book. It gives you gorgeous men, dragon shifters, Fae, excitement, suspense, action, twists, some hot sex, and lots of danger.

Trust me you have got to read this book.

Review: This was a sad short story with a lot of heat in it. It is part of the Love, Loss, Laughter and Lust Anthology. I was not expecting the type of story that I started reading. It was well written, if not too damn short for me. The city has a curse. You will lose your love and your heart.

Daniel and Sam had been in love. Then a fortune-teller told him that he was going to lose that. The fortune-teller knew. So when a new couple moves in next door he warned them. Toby was left without his man and his heart. Now for them to see if they could find it once more, this time with each other.

I cannot really get into the story too much without giving it away. It is a great little story to read however it was not for me. Although the ending was a relief, the story itself was just too much sadness and despair.

It was well written, but altogether not for me.

Review: This story was pretty damn good. I was attracted to it by the title first and then when I started reading my attention was captivated. My only gripe was the fact that it leaves you hanging at the end. I have never really cared for that, in fact many stories that end like that get put on the back shelf and forgotten. It doesn’t matter to me if it is damn good or not, if it is left hanging then I basically forget it.

However I think with this particular story I will keep an eye out for book two. I always like the paranormal tones and futuristic way books that have psychic powers in them are thrilling. There is just something about them. On top of the fact that it gives you two gorgeous men and one of them wears a uniform is a plus.

I did have problems with the fact that it is a bit confusing at points when Cam having problems throughout the story. It has the danger scenes in it, but to a point that you are not worried about the way it ends with that. I felt disappointed in that part of the story. In parts you know how he gets that way but in others it is just questionable.

Cam and Mason have a good thing going. Mason is a doctor and Cam is a fighter pilot, but they both are psychic cops. Cam can get a reading off items and people, find those that are missing and sometimes get a reading off a body that is dead. They love each other desperately and even care for their child. There are many that are shocked that these two men got together, but a few that are good with it. They still have a way to go, and then on top of that

Cam is having a shock rebound from his latest case, where he is sent to find the bodies of children. Even dealing with his homophobic family, Mason is still focused on his family. These two are extremely hot together and I look forward to reading more about them both.

As I have said before I hate books that end in the middle of a story, but I do look forward to the next book. However I was hoping that the second book would focus on a new romantic couple instead of the same guys. It is hard to keep my attention if the story just continues and book after book comes out. I want a new story each time and not focus on the same guys. It gets old real fast.

So I look forward to seeing what the next book will bring.

Review: This is the second book in the Panopolis series. It was just as good the first book with a new villain added into the mix who used Edward to get what he wanted by holding Raul hostage. Although I did understand and agree with his reason I did not like the way he went about it. This guy was truly disgusting. As soon as I read his villain name I was glad I had already eaten because I just knew some of the scenes were going to be stomach turning.

I really liked that even though Edward is a villain he tried his best not to hurt anyone seriously. I was pissed at what Maggot had his cronies do to Raul to get Edwards cooperation and then what one did to make sure he went through with what he supposed to do.

The ending came as no surprise to me because I would have felt the same if I were Edward. Edward ability was very intriguing, though it comes with a price of migraines. Action packed, mystery, adventure are all throughout this fantastic book. I really hope there will be more in this series.

Highly recommended.

Students are taught it’s a fight to the death to survive. Humans who dare visit will probably get eaten by more than lions… And two men may enter, but only one can finish first.

Long ago, packs, covens, and the rest of a failing social system were done away with. Instead, crests were implemented, to sprinkle the species equally, while also forcing each new generation to spread their wings, and parents, who might never die, from forever controlling their children.

And for someone like Doyle McCready, who knows he’s nothing but a pawn to his parents, the only way to be free of them is to build a crest strong enough… Even if it’s full of issue-laced people like himself. Review: This is book 1 in the Colosseum University: McCready Crest series. Doyle McCready, an elf, is a cold person when the story starts. He seems to only care for his own gains until he meets Kisten. I personally did not like the implication that he uses his members to satisfy himself and others anytime he sees a need in it. What about the other person’s feelings? Maybe they don’t want to sleep with a bunch of people because someone else says so.

Kisten, a cat shifter, was sweet and tried his best to please Doyle in whatever way he wanted. I felt Kisten needed to actually talk to Doyle during certain situations instead of jumping to conclusions. They both had a communication problem with the other that led to unnecessary drama.

I liked the story though it seemed some things that were brought up were never resolved in this book. For example what about the situations with both Doyle and Kisten’s fathers and Doyle’s agent? The issues were never resolved the book just ends. So I’m hoping that it continues in the next book.

All in all it was a good read with a lot of drama and finding out how a crest system works in a paranormal school. There was plenty of hot action between Doyle and Kisten to set the pages on fire with their intensity for one another even though the ending seemed a bit rushed and just ends abruptly.

I’m looking forward to seeing what else the author has in store for this series.

Review: Andrew is finally out from under his abusive parent’s control, but his life is in a tail spin. You see, Andrew has not only hit rock bottom, he believes his soul died along with Jack, so he returns to Sweet one last time to say goodbye to his love. I swear, angels were rejoicing when these two were reunited but time apart and life’s hard knocks have left lasting marks on both young men, both body and soul.

Andrew is honest with Jack about where he has been and what he has done. And while Jack understands the limited choices Andrew had, there is still a sting when he thinks about his beloved being with anyone other than him. Jealously leads to discourse and trust issues and Jack often misunderstands a situation as the two of them try to navigate the mine field they now call life. It’s a long, hard road to recovery and happiness, but by god they both know they deserve and very much want their happy ever after.

It was hard for me to listen to the pain in Andrew’s voice when he was away from Jack. But you could also hear the understanding, pride and love under the pain. Andrew understood that Jack had to go to college and unfortunately it caused them to live apart for a while, but I love how York explained all those thoughts and internal conversations Andrew had with himself while they were apart. It really showed how he was growing as a person, determined to make lemonade out of the lemons life had dealt them.

Then you add in Frazier’s narration and it was the perfect blend of thought and sound, really bringing the characters to life.

Jack though, he did the most growing up in this installment. He’s now in college, has the love of his life back, his hateful father is out of the picture and yet, he’s still suffering. His thoughts betray his heart a lot while he struggles to come to terms with everything that has happened to him and Andrew.

Again, York not only shown the growth with her words, but she wrote it in such a way that it was completely different from following Andrew on his journey. Jack and Andrew are obviously soul-mates; they literally went to hell and back to be together. But they stand on their own as individuals as well.

I had one teensy issue with this installment of the series, Jack’s father, Nathanial. He does this complete 180, like stopping on a dime and reversing course in the blink of an eye. No, sorry, I do not buy it. That man is evil incarnate and makes my skin crawl. Kudos to Frazier for having the ability to capture so much vitriol and disdain with just a tone of voice for this character, and perhaps that is why I absolutely loath the man. I did, however, love the scene where Andrew has to face his parents and does it standing tall and proud with Jack by his side.

A Southern Thing is one of the most emotionally wrought series I’ve read. But for all the darkness in these stories, there is light, there is hope and most important, there is love. I encourage everyone to give this series a chance; I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. York’s writing is intense and emotional while bringing this story and these characters to life. And Frazier only amplifies the intensity and emotion by giving them a voice.

I highly recommend this series, it is a must read but it also must be read in order.
