Review: This was a sad short story with a lot of heat in it. It is part of the Love, Loss, Laughter and Lust Anthology. I was not expecting the type of story that I started reading. It was well written, if not too damn short for me. The city has a curse. You will lose your love and your heart.

Daniel and Sam had been in love. Then a fortune-teller told him that he was going to lose that. The fortune-teller knew. So when a new couple moves in next door he warned them. Toby was left without his man and his heart. Now for them to see if they could find it once more, this time with each other.

I cannot really get into the story too much without giving it away. It is a great little story to read however it was not for me. Although the ending was a relief, the story itself was just too much sadness and despair.

It was well written, but altogether not for me.

Review: This was a cute short story with a lot of heat in it. It is part of the Bollocks Anthology.  It started off with a prank and ended up with love.

Simon and Chris have been friends for quite some time. So one night they go out, Simon tells Chris that he has always wanted to moon a cop. By doing so, Simon has caught the eye of a certain cop who loved that ass. Mark was turned the hell on, and when it comes face to face time, damn he is caught.

I got a big kick out of this. I couldn’t really go into the story too much, without giving it away. It is a fast, light-hearted read with quite a bit of meat to it, which is surprising since it wasn’t even twenty pages.

I would definitely recommend this.

Blurb: I was eighteen and gay and working on prom night, a Cinderella without a prince, when a vision appeared in the coffee aisle: He was wearing a short, black skirt, a pale cream shirt that exposed his bare midriff, and upon his feet were a pair of very pink, very high stiletto heels. And he was my very own high school wet dream, Rob Marshall!

Review: This is a cute, sexy and sweet short story. At first I thought it would end a bit differently but I was so glad that it didn’t. It talks of sweet beginnings and teenage dreams.

Michael had opted out of going to the prom, why should he didn’t have a date. So he decided to work the night away. He had the hots for one of the kids at school but figured he would never have the chance. Till that dream showed up a school in pink heels and a black mini. Talk about a hot sight and even better night.

It makes for a great quick read. I had a blast reading it but it needed so much more to make it perfect. A girls desire to explore the old house, finds some heels that brought back memories.

I would recommend reading it, especially if you love old romantic times.

Review: This is part of the anthology called Love, Lost, Laughter llll-andrew-q-gordonand Lust. It is probably the best one I have read about in a while. I am not much for short stories or anthologies but this story comes really close to being perfect.

This story is one of those types that will tear at your heart-strings because it is a story that could be real. So many stories that you hear about best friends and their reactions to what happens when you tell them something they don’t like or don’t agree with. For a short story it has a lot of details and heart in it.

Orin’s best friend Thomas had asked him when they were kids if he was gay. He had told him yes, thinking that his best friend would always be there for him. What he had not told him was that he loved him. However Thomas had reacted in fear and hate. He had managed to tear Orin’s heart out. He bullied him through middle school and high school. He had made his life a living hell.

After graduation he managed to escape and make a life for himself. He had never intended to go back, but a tornado had changed his mind. It had killed his parents and destroyed his child hood home. When he came home to fix it all, Thomas was there.
Thomas was a deputy for the sheriff’s department and had always regretted what he had done to Orin. He had been a coward and feared the reactions he would get if it came out that he was gay also. He knew he had to make things right. He had to show Orin that he was in love with him and would fix it all.

This is a story that you could believe was actually happening in front of you. At first I thought it would be the type where the parents were the cruel ones and in a way I went to the bully part. However it still didn’t take away from the fact that as soon as I started reading it I could not put it down. It turned out so much better than what I had thought. The parents had been loving and cherished their son. They had loved him unconditionally. It was the best friend that had betrayed him, and the best friend who needed to prove himself ten years later.

I had a blast with this and look forward to reading more by this author. It was the first book that I have read by Andrew and I was quite impressed. It was well told with a lot of heart in it. I would definitely recommend this book to others. Trust me this is a story that you should read.
