Review: This is a very nice short story and I really enjoyed reading it. It was well written and I’ll be looking for this author’s work again. Everyone wants to find that one person that completes them. It’s been a year since Harry became single again and he’s lonely. Yes, he has a thriving business that keeps him busy, but he wants to start fresh again, and he has a strong attraction towards his contractor.

Harry wants to do some improvement and renovations to part of his home, and he has hired Diego and his team for the job. Diego feels the same attraction to Harry, but doesn’t want to start anything until he’s finished the job that he was hired to do. Plus, he’s raising a teenage son, and doesn’t want any fallout because of it. The relationship growing between them is great and I love the flow of it. No drama or interference. I was sorry there wasn’t more of it. I would definitely recommend this light read.

Sei has had enough of dodging his mother’s and his aunt’s attempt to arrange a bonding for him since Clea mated with Christian. They don’t see a reason for him not to bond with someone they choose, but he doesn’t care about traditions. He wants the real deal when it comes to mating—love, lust, and a happily ever after.

Donovan is the liaison between the pack and the government. His job isn’t running around Washington rescuing street kids, but he wants to help the pack, and those kids. The last thing he expected from his impromptu mission was to meet his mate.

When Sei is overwhelmed by a crowd of reporters who have come to Gillham to find out more about shifters, he’s rescued by a bear shifter. He recognizes Donovan as his mate only once Donovan shifts, and he doesn’t let the occasion slip away. They mate within hours of their first meeting, but Sei hadn’t considered the complications that would come with it.

The attacks on the pack are escalading, Donovan’s son is vehement about his dislike of Sei, and Donovan doesn’t know what to do. Will he have to choose between his mate and his son? What can he do to keep the pack safe? Will this be the time when everything falls apart?

Review: Each book in the Gillham Pack collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. This series is also connected to the Whitedell Pride collection. There is nothing better than a good paranormal romance with two gorgeous men involved.

I have been reading romance and paranormal’s for over 30 years and can honestly say that I love a good paranormal romance more than any other kind of story.  It was not until 5 years ago that I started read m/m romance stories.  The action in them just seems to be more believable then when it is m/f.  So over the years you come to cherish and love certain authors more than many others.  It is the way they tell a story that will have you wishing you were right there with them.  And sometimes you wished you were the one falling in love.  This author has moved up the line to be one of my top favorite authors and from the way her stories are told, she will probably stay there.

Her characters are quirky as hell, protective to the point of well you can guess that answer.  I still have my ultimate favorite ones but many start to work their way into my heart.  Her stories also are full of action, suspense and danger plus some hot sexy time for our guys.  They catch my attention the moment I start reading and keep it all the way to the very last word.  This story gave me everything I could ask for in a story and so much more.

Sie is a sweet and very cute little firecracker who can shimmer where ever he needs to go.  His family has set him up to bond with a female, but of course our sexy guy is so not into girls.  However he is one of the lucky ones, whose family just seems to flow with it.  Out on a little side trip to the store, leaves him overwhelmed by a group of nasty reporters, although Connor is not so bad.  But to is luck, his mate just happens to be a big old brown bear shifter.

Donovan works for the government as a go between human and pack.  Now that he has found his little mate, he just might be rethinking that.  Especially when the attacks on the pack are getting out of hand.  And you have your total asshats who are in the pack, acting like well asshats.  Kam sure does have his hands full.

I love how it has that serious tone to it but there is a bit of humor in it that your attention is captivated throughout it all. I loved the cover and that was what caught my attention first. Although to be honest any book that Catherine writes is automatically bought by me. I just can’t seem to get enough of this series. There is something about the way that she tells you a story more than likely have you laughing your ass off at parts of it.

This story is perfect for when you are trying to take a break or when you just need the sun to shine for you. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. It also gave me everything I could want in a book. I can honestly tell you that this is going to be one of those types of series. One that I will have to read over and over. I love the way all the feelings they felt was involved in this story. It was the perfect story for me and I loved it. I can’t wait to read the next story.

Review:  I have read several stories by Caitlin Ricci, and I have to admit that I really do not care for her short stories.  So here I was trying to get my list down, and I was just groaning to myself at it.  Then I saw this story and it sounded interesting plus it was quite a bit longer than many of the other ones that I have read.  It is a very unique type of story that I have not came across in quite some time.

Blake and his family had been abducted when he was seven years old.  They had brutally killed his parents pretty much in front of him. When he was rescued, which I never really found out how, his uncle tried to keep him safe.  He couldn’t leave his family home, so his uncle hired him a body guard that would help him.  Robert was the only one, other than his uncle who actually saw him.  Even his housekeeper of fifteen years had not had that pleasure. But now it was time for Robert to retire, and guess what he was getting three new body guards.  Talk about a stressful thing for Blake.

Malcolm, CJ and Rex were a threesome and have found their fourth.  Rex is more forceful, CJ is more tender and Malcolm is the mixture of the others.  Where his uncle takes care of the money, the home, Blake needs to feel safe.  It feels so damn lonely the way he lives, talking through a monitor, but Rex starts getting him out of his shell.  However it will take all three of them to get him through his panic.

It is a slow burn romance, but very little sex in a way.  When you look at multiple partners such as this, you think major sex, but with this type of story it just worked perfectly.  I was quite pleased with how this story turned out and hope that Caitlin continues this style of writing.  It was a very touching story and I enjoyed every bit of it.

Review: An epic end to Kane and Hawk’s long journey to find the culprits who are hell-bent for more power no matter the cost. I absolutely loved the entire book. I felt as though I was there witnessing everything.

A lot happens that tidies up the previous books while at the same time hinting at another mission for the males. Al the characters I loved throughout the series show up in this one to help with the fight but not without casualties. The battles were intense at times yet at the same time the group splits up to go about different things and of course we are along for the ride.

Adventurous, mysterious, action, drama, fantasy and a whole slew of other genres are all throughout this wonderfully written story. I could not stop reading until the very end. It had me hooked from the first page of the first book and continued well into this story. This is a must read in order series as each book continues where the previous book leaves off.

Highly recommended for all.

Blurb: Like a depressed moth drawn to a wild flame, Chris hoped that flame would brighten his life, not burn him alive.

Chris Sinclair fades into a gray world after losing his mother to cancer. When forced to attend a concert, as a last attempt to coax him out of his shell, he discovers that life might not be as bleak as he first thought.

Dante Heron holds the audience between the tips of his fingers and the delicate bow, playing the violin as if every heart is his to command. However, something darker brews behind the façade, and Chris is determined to solve the enigma.

When Chris is offered the job of traveling around Europe with the famous violinist, he surprises himself by accepting. With no idea of what awaits him, he’s thrown into a world where emotions rule and rules are bent.

They’re a perfectly dysfunctional match, but then there’s always calm at the heart of the storm.

Purchase Link: https://www.pride-publishing.com/book/volatile

Review: Chris feels lost after his mother’s death, he can’t stop remembering that he was a terrible teenager and suffers guilt for how he treated his mother during those years. Nothing really seems to catch his interest until he meets a violinist who draws emotions out of him with his music.

Dante is isolated as a famous violinist, he’s never had real friends and he’s stuck in a loop of loneliness. Chris sparks something inside him but getting through to Chris is hard when Chris sinks into himself constantly.

I have to admit that I had a hard time with this story because it’s all from Chris’s point of view; Chris is a really hard character to connect to so I actually became annoyed at his attitude of pitying himself all the time. God I wanted to knock the crap out of him at times, he just came across as totally numb and drab, hell he might have depression but even people with depression have some spark of life in them at times.

Now Dante was a very interesting character and I would have loved to see inside his head, he’s temperamental, demanding and oh so damn lonely, he would have been an amazing character to see this story through.

Their relationship is actually awkward, lots of misfires and no really conversing between them. There was a lot of back and forwards between them, neither one opening up to the other which led to silence between them when they should have been talking. *sigh* It was just so frustrating. And it became harder and harder to see a connection between them because of it.

I actually was going to give this story a 2, it was the last chapter that saved this book because that was when Chris seemed to actually have some spark and feeling.

I recommend this story to those who like dysfunctional relationships, a good storyline and decent characters.

Review: This is the first book in the Adrift series. The crew of the Prayer wants to go home after being transported mysteriously to an unknown part of space. They travel aimlessly for years hoping they will get closer to earth. After some time they have all but given up hope.

As expected the men look for companionship in these lonely times. Thomas, Echo, Zachary and Rick all hook up. I found it quite entertaining with these mixed personalities intermingling. The sex is hot and steamy.

The next installment is hinted at when the second in command talks the captain into landing on a planet. Good read with plenty of mystery and hot scenes to keep the reader entertained.

Blurb: It’s not easy breaking into show biz. Especially when you aren’t exactly loaded with talent. But Malcolm Fox won’t let a little thing like that hold him back.

Actually, it isn’t the show-business part of his life that bothers him as much as the romantic part—or the lack thereof. At twenty-six, Malcolm has never been in love. He lives in San Diego with his roommate, Beth, another struggling actor, and each of them is just as unsuccessful as the other. While Malcolm toddles off to this audition and that, he ponders the lack of excitement in his life. The lack of purpose. The lack of a man.

Then Beth’s brother moves in.

Freshly imported from Missouri of all places, Cory Williams is a towering hunk of muscles and innocence, and Malcolm is gobsmacked by the sexiness of his new roomie from the start. When infatuation enters the picture, Malcolm knows he’s really in trouble. After all, Cory is straight!

Review: Malcolm has always wanted to work in show biz, so in between auditions he also works at the zoo.  He cracks me up.  His best friend and roommate, Beth is also a struggling actress.  Somehow they just make it all work.  That is until Beth lets him no her one and only darling brother is moving in.  Along with a big pit bull and a four foot snake.  Not Malcolm’s idea of fun, until he sees Beth’s brother.  Then he might just faint.  The poor boy has never been in love before and well let’s just wait and see what is to become of him.

Cory broke up with his girlfriend, well you will find out the true reason when you read the book.  He is a sexy young man from Missouri and wants to get into show biz like his sister.  These two are like smoking hot and are perfect for each other.  Now you add in Malcolm’s mom and this is one rocking book.  However you just have to read the book for more juicy information.

I came across John Inman a few months back with one of his series, and from that moment on he has been one of my favorite contemporary writers.  His stories are just down right juicy and so damn funny.  This particular book had me laughing my ass off for hours afterwards.  Just thinking about Malcolm’s reaction to the snake was a blast.  They are so entertaining that your attention is caught from the moment you start reading this book and well I didn’t, no, I couldn’t take a break until I got to the end.

I had quite a bit of fun with this book and would definitely love to hear more about this sexy couple.  Hell his mom was funny as hell, and damn I wish more mothers were like her.  The rats were a great touch to the story also.  Who would know Malcolm had such a big heart for the creatures, well at least for the rats.  The romance itself is super easy and just seemed to flow off the pages.  This is one book that I can guarantee will be read more than once.  Trust me; you have to read this book.

Review: Damien, a vampire, was turned while out one night while leaving the movie theater. He is arrogant, cruel at times and seems only to care about himself. After he was turned he had to learn everything himself as his maker left after the bite. During one of his night hunts, he meets Danny in a hospital. This meeting would change him forever.

Danny is sweet, shy, caring and kind. Unfortunately his father is a man’s man and does not tolerate a lot of things. When it comes out that Danny is gay all hell breaks loose in more ways than one. At the end of his rope with nowhere to turn Danny tries to kill himself.

I did not know quite what to expect when I started reading this story but I’m glad I did. Danny’s story was heart-breaking. I was so angry at so many characters throughout that had hurt him in some way that I wanted to harm them myself. I hated his father Frank. He seemed like a real piece of work.

Damien was the one who transformed the most as the story progressed. His back story shocked me. It seemed to me these two needed each other in ways the other didn’t know. I was glad Damien took it upon himself to make sure the ones who did physical harm to Danny paid for it. I really liked the interactions between Damien and Danny. I liked even more that even though he had feelings for him, Damien “left”, he was still around but Danny never saw him, to let Danny live his life until he was older.

The religious aspect of the book had me upset at times as I’m not overly religious myself. Yes I believe in God, Christ and the Devil but what made me mad is Monohan seemed to be evil incarnate. He was in cahoots with Frank about keeping money for himself, sending kids to conversion therapy to change them not to mention what the asshat did to Damien when he was still a human and in the church. He never should have been in any type of position with that kind of power over others. It made me think about all the times I’ve heard of various church people in trouble with the law for doing something despicable in the news yet nothing being done except the church paying off the families to keep it all quiet.

But aside from that the story was an amazing journey of two men who find each other when they need it the most and watching them overcome any obstacles thrown in their way and persevere. I absolutely loved it and highly recommend it. I will warn people there is mention of rape in this story.

Review:  Matthew Lang is a new author for me but when I first saw the title, I just knew I had to read it.  Let’s face it everything is better with bacon, so how could this story go wrong.  The characters are very quirky and gave me a good surprise.  At first I wasn’t too sure, because Patrick had been in a relationship since high school with a girl.  However it came to my attention that this guy is kinky.

Patrick’s long term girlfriend Li dumped his ass, so he heads to his best friend’s home to get over it.  However after a few drinks Patrick lets it slip that he has always wondered what it would be like to be with a guy.  Then around valentine’s Li Ling calls to say she is pregnant.  Well poor David runs for the hills, well he actually went to Australia but close enough.  Then he comes home, and well you are just going to have to read the book to find out what happens.

This story has a serious tone to it, but damn if there were not areas that had me laughing my ass off.  I didn’t much care for a certain part of it, but I don’t want to ruin the story or the surprise.  Trust me you are going to have a blast with this story.

I definitely recommend this book to everyone.  It was fun to read and I can’t wait to see what other books this author has out.

Preface:

I love short stories. Sometimes a brief “snapshot” taken from a couple’s larger story is all that’s wanted. The narrative of “how they met” is the focus of six of the shorts in this set—quirky tales ranging from meeting at a charity fundraiser, to college kids pranking each other, to a mishap at a XXX adult video arcade.

Also included is a story featuring a well-established couple’s wedding dilemma, a friends-to-lovers tale, a coming-out-of-the-closet drama, and a continuation short that follows one of those how-we-mets. Rounding out this collection is an account revisiting the main characters from my full-length novel, ’Til Death Do Us Part.

All of these stories are contemporary, although one has a bit of paranormal flavor to it. Heat ratings range from “fairly sweet” to “rather steamy.” Excepting the final story, all were originally written in 2008 and early 2009. One (“Photo Shoot”) started out as a prompt word ficlet that I later fleshed out to a more complete story. Each has received a thorough overhaul, some more extensive than others. I hope you’ll enjoy reading them as much as I did writing them.

**Please note King Kong vs. The Skinny Pirate is FREE as a separate ebook

It’s never easy to find redemption.

Carrying scars and regrets, River Darcourt avoids too much intimate contact. Among his friends, he is known as a quiet loner. Forget about love—it’s not something he will consider—until sweet, young, and tempting Morgan Hayes becomes his housemate. River closed his heart long ago, but the attraction is impossible to deny.

Morgan Hayes needs a change. He is moving out of his critical father’s home and in with his friends, including his secret/not-so-secret crush, River. Having feelings for River is a terrible idea. But what is a guy to do when the annoyingly sexy mechanic is just across the hall?

While Morgan has overcome ugliness and is ready for love, he’s just not sure River ever will be. They have both experienced pain in their lives. So Morgan dares River to take a chance, and love will either break their fractured hearts in more pieces or, just possibly, make them whole again.

Aaron’s been living in what his friend Howie calls a sexual desert. But an oasis appears on the horizon when Paul, a divorced electrician with a five-year-old daughter named Sam, moves in next door. He’s a country boy from northern Australia, and although he’s never been with a guy before, he has an impression that anything goes in the city. They find that the ordinary things in life—books, footie in the park, looking after Sam—lead them into an unlikely relationship.

But as their relationship slowly deepens, with Aaron spending time on Paul’s family’s cattle station, it becomes clear that Paul might have a harder time leaving the country behind. To him, happiness means a conventional life—including a mother for Sam. Being with his old friends convinces him he’s on the wrong path with Aaron, and he starts a relationship with a girl from his hometown. If he cannot find the courage to go after what he truly needs, he and Aaron will become nothing more than awkward neighbours.

Then Eric is captured by terrorists and Tim is gravely injured in an op gone wrong, bringing Richard’s world crashing down around his ears. Even if he gets his men out alive, Eric must face the aftermath of months of physical and psychological torture—and without Tim to lean on, Eric’s PTSD is tearing him apart. (Cowboys Don’t 02)
by

Tara Lain

Cowboy Danny Boone—a name he made up one drunken night and has regretted ever since—harbors a big past and yearns for a small future. A short, bright career as a champion bull rider almost ended in his death when his homophobic father discovered Danny was gay. Now Danny longs for a plot of land he can build a ranch house on and enough money to make up for some of the education he missed.

Danny also hides a preference for beautiful femmes who like to top—a combo rarer than a unicorn. Then onto the guest ranch where Danny works drives San Francisco decorator Laurie Belmont, a young man so gorgeous he makes horses gasp, and so ballsy he almost kills Danny’s attacker.

Laurie’s trying to find his way out from under the thumb of a domineering mother, helpless father, and rich, privileged boyfriend. But no matter the attraction, their lives are worlds apart, and cowboys don’t ride unicorns.
