Blurb: His attraction to men means Kalean is the black sheep of his wealthy and powerful family—but it won’t get him out of attending his brother’s pretentious wedding ceremony. Kalean doesn’t want to go, but if his parents insist, he has a stipulation: he’ll be there with a man on his arm.

On the pleasure planet, Wish, Kalean goes to a brothel to meet some potential escorts. But the man who captures his attention isn’t one of those on offer….

Descani is as surprised as anyone at Kalean’s attraction to him—and at his own interest in the young man. He’s even more perplexed as a bond begins forming between them.

But a murder rips apart Kalean’s family and redefines his role. He’ll be isolated on his cold and barren home world, far from the warm and colorful planet of Wish—and the arms of the man who’s coming to mean so much to him—unless he can find a way to escape the forces separating them.

Review: Even though his family is well to do Kalean has no say in his life what so ever. He is demanded to attend his brother wedding so he also demands he be allowed to bring a male partner. Here is where the pleasure brothel comes in at as Kalean goes there to find someone to take with him. He meets Descani and knows he’s the one.

The two have different lives and with family trying to interfere it causes chaos. But the two are determined to be with one another. This is not a monogamous relationship as Descani continues to work and enjoy it. Kalean for his part accepts Descani’s decision to remain working.

There are twists and turns that make for an added element to the story.

Dragon tradition states that he must have a partner to help him transition into independence from his clan. A long-time friend would be sufficient, but Joshua doesn’t have any of those either. Faeted is his last hope.

Rex expected Faeted to set him up with someone fun and sexy, but he was never expecting a dragon. As an eagle shifter, a dragon is a good match for him since they’re both born to fly. Review: Joshua is a dragon shifter who can’t find his mate on his own.  So his parents send him to a matchmaking agency and guess what, he finds the one he is supposed to be with.  Rex wanted a mate and decided to let the agency find his, and he gets a sexy dragon shifter in the end.

First off this book is way too short to give you anything more than just a taste.  There is no suspense, no true drama and just a bit of action.  It was dull and a bit dry, definitely not my taste of story.  It felt like the author just rushed it through and didn’t really give us an exciting story.  I was disappointed and hope that the next story has a bit more bite to it.

Blurb: Four stories of sex, romance, and college boys learning to kneel.

Hitachi is a police officer reduced to being a glorified babysitter for a rich man’s son. He resents his assignment, but Gabriel isn’t the brat Hitachi believes he is. He’s a man who likes pain, and who wants Hitachi to let loose with him too.

Leo fantasizes about having sex with a complete stranger, but when he gets his chance it isn’t nearly as wonderful as he imagined it to be. His dad’s boss tries to teach him a lesson about making stupid choices, but his education in submission doesn’t end there.

Jensen is horrible at math, and now he’s in a calculus class that he’s barely getting through. His parents get him a tutor, but this tutor is interested in teaching Jensen about far more than just math.

Timothy comes back home, to a tiny town he can’t stand, when his mother’s illness gets worse. He’s made a string of bad decisions, and his mother’s friend is determined to turn his life around before Timothy gets lost entirely.

Review: I love this author’s work, but I really struggled with these four in one stories. The blurb is what got me to choose this story. Yes, there is intense sex scenes, but the stories are just so unbelievable. Jensen goes to be tutored in Mathematics, because he’s very bad at the subject, and within less than half hour, he has a safe word and he’s in a Play room, being spanked and then have sex with his tutor.

Hitachi has been sent on assignment to pick up someone from the airport, who he’s never met before, and to drive him home. He’s invited inside, and Gabriel quickly starts playing with him, and they role play, and have sex.

Leo has always fantasized about hooking up and having sex with a stranger. He organizes a hook up and goes to this guy’s house, without knowing who the guy is. He is given instructions on what will happen between them. He gets treated roughly with vigorous sex, and then after, the guy reveals himself and it’s his Dad’s boss. He treats Leo like crap, and tells him that he’s teaching him a lesion.

With Timothy, he left his hometown as fast as he could when he was eighteen, but now he has returned home after his mom’s illness have gotten worse. He goes to a bar to relax and they he’s approached by someone, who invites him to a rodeo. He goes to the location, and he’s brutally beaten, he’s rescued by the owner of the building, and then they have sex. The only difference in all of these stories is that Timothy is the only one in his right mind to ask about protection before sex.

I love this author’s stories, but I won’t be recommending this one to anyone.

Blurb: Sometimes there’s a difference between duty and doing what’s right. And sometimes doing what’s right comes with a high price.

Every aspasian at Asiq adores the handsome peacekeeper Resan—all except for Arin. While the other workers vie for Resan’s attention, Arin avoids him at all costs, which rouses Resan’s suspicion. When he discovers Arin is a runaway slave, Resan is bound by law to return him to his master. It is only later that Resan realizes what he’s done. Arin’s owner bought him at twelve, married him, and not only violated Arin himself, but loaned him out to his friends. Resan has returned him to a life of rape and abuse, and now he must make a decision: free Arin and abandon the oaths he swore as a peacekeeper, or leave him to languish and abandon his own conscience and heart.

Review: I don’t know quite how to begin this review. I’ll start with the characters themselves. Resan is a peacekeeper and believes one hundred percent in upholding the law no matter the circumstances. He’s arrogant and I honestly could not stand him until the very end.

Arin works at Asiq and tries his best to stay away from the peacekeeper due to the fact he is runaway slave of a deplorable man. Resan fins out and gets in touch with Arin’s master to give him back. When the meeting happens he learns Arin was sold to man at twelve years old and has been raped repeatedly since by the man and his friends. This is where I actually got sick to my stomach.

I hate stories with any child rape in them especially when said story mentions it over and over again. Trust me I got the message the first time it was said. It was hard to believe Rasen did a one eighty and wanted to help Arin I did not believe it in the least. The whole story seemed as though it was forced and at times was confusing in its explanations.

I cannot fathom in a situation where someone forced someone back into a life where they are being abused, then to start to trust the individual responsible for putting them back into the situation? Not in the world I live in it doesn’t happen. So naturally I did not believe a relationship would form other than hate at being put into the situation after having escaped it to begin with.

I still cannot wrap my mind around this story, nor do I want to. Just glad it’s over.

I absolutely did not like anything about this story.

Review:  I have read several stories by Caitlin Ricci, and I have to admit that I really do not care for her short stories.  So here I was trying to get my list down, and I was just groaning to myself at it.  Then I saw this story and it sounded interesting plus it was quite a bit longer than many of the other ones that I have read.  It is a very unique type of story that I have not came across in quite some time.

Blake and his family had been abducted when he was seven years old.  They had brutally killed his parents pretty much in front of him. When he was rescued, which I never really found out how, his uncle tried to keep him safe.  He couldn’t leave his family home, so his uncle hired him a body guard that would help him.  Robert was the only one, other than his uncle who actually saw him.  Even his housekeeper of fifteen years had not had that pleasure. But now it was time for Robert to retire, and guess what he was getting three new body guards.  Talk about a stressful thing for Blake.

Malcolm, CJ and Rex were a threesome and have found their fourth.  Rex is more forceful, CJ is more tender and Malcolm is the mixture of the others.  Where his uncle takes care of the money, the home, Blake needs to feel safe.  It feels so damn lonely the way he lives, talking through a monitor, but Rex starts getting him out of his shell.  However it will take all three of them to get him through his panic.

It is a slow burn romance, but very little sex in a way.  When you look at multiple partners such as this, you think major sex, but with this type of story it just worked perfectly.  I was quite pleased with how this story turned out and hope that Caitlin continues this style of writing.  It was a very touching story and I enjoyed every bit of it.

Blurb: Detective Jamison Landry’s job isn’t easy. He’s dealt with the worst criminals imaginable and believes in his work and the community he serves. But he’s never met someone quite like Mal before.

The mysterious man, rescued from a basement in which he was chained by cultists, keeps Jamison guessing. He both confuses and excites him, and Jamison isn’t sure how he feels about that. Plus, things turn from unusual to downright strange when people start insisting Mal isn’t quite human. And Jamison’s creepy dreams of crows and graveyards don’t make things any better for him.

Will Mal stay around long enough for Jamison to figure out his secrets, or will this stranger leave him aching for more?

Review: Usually I can find the words for anything there is that needs to be said, but this book just takes that away from me. Sort of that is. This story is about one sexy demon named Mal and a human named Jamison. It is told with such humor that most of the time I was laughing and the rest of the time, I was bewildered. It has the perfect amount of danger, excitement, adventure, and humor that it was absolutely perfect.

Jamison is a human with a good soul. He however feels like he is losing his mind. He saves Mal from a group of the craziest cult members he has ever seen, saying that Mal is a demon and should be held prisoner. The only glitch is the fact that they were right. Mal is a powerful demon from hell, who decides the punishment for those who have committed the worst sins. He decides who goes to hell and who goes to heaven. He is quite old, however when he is around Jamison he acts like a child. He confuses the hell out of Jamison, to the point that Jamison can’t decide whether to let him stay or leave. Mal protects Jamison with every bit of power in him, to the point hell no longer wants him. Jamison is a loving, caring, loyal police officer set to protect those who needed protection. Mal on the other hand is kind of crazy, bloodthirsty. However, he is falling in love with a human. There is a lot of talk about sex, with just a bit of passion and fire added in.

This story was a surprise to say the least. I wasn’t sure at first whether it would make it in my list of best stories ever, but it actually ranked up there in the top ten. You have two very sexy men wanting each other to the point of losing their minds, excitement going on all around you, words of passion and anger in this story. Jamison has the ability to overcome the fear of the unknown and see something good in a demon.

Caitlin has such a gift in the way she tells a story, the worlds she creates, and such wonderful characters that she has made my top ten favorite authors. I absolutely loved this story and really can’t wait to read more of Caitlin’s books. If you love sexy men, great plots, story line, and action you really need to check this book out. It is hot.

Randal Tobit has recently taken over his father’s shoe store, On Your Sole, and is trying to make his father proud after his recent divorce from a woman his dad liked. The job is easy, but only because of the man his father hired and will not give Randal permission to fire under any circumstances.

Casey is helpful and happy, bordering on obnoxiously so. He’s a morning person and he loves shoes, which makes him perfect for the store, but not so much for Randal, who prefers to be barefoot when he can’t wear flip flops.

When the store is vandalized and Casey offers his help, Randal makes a bargain with him—one that he probably would have reconsidered if he’d had any idea what Casey actually was…

Review:  Randal is now the proud owner of On Your Sole shoe store, when his father handed it over to him.  He had this feisty and goofy worker that helped him along.  Casey was something else, but Randal had a rule.  No dating employees, but then the store is vandalized.  All Casey wants is one date, and well you will see.

I have been reading a few books by this author and haven’t really cared for them at all.  So when I was handed this book, I was expecting something else.  This one actually was pretty damn good.  Casey is fae and his father is fae king, so there is a bit of surprise inside this book for you that will have you laughing your ass off, or wanting to smack someone.  It is a fun book and I would definitely recommend it.

Blurb: The Intergalactic Star Pilot Academy has accepted Thierry Leroux into the elite class of sky year 2231. But the academy comes with a hefty price tag, and there’s no way he, a poor Sythe orphan, has the credits the academy requires. Thierry’s brother, Corbin, a high-class companion, suggests Thierry sell his virginity for the cost of tuition. It seems like a ridiculous idea, but it may be Thierry’s only shot, so Thierry asks Corbin to arrange a meeting on the pleasure planet of Wish.

On Wish, Thierry meets Corbin’s boss, Monroe, and they agree to auction off Thierry’s virginity. Thierry is grateful to the masked buyer he knows only as “Dragonfly”, and Dragonfly is gentle, making Thierry’s first time a good memory. When Dragonfly requests to see him again, and pay for the pleasure, Thierry returns to Wish.

But in this game, falling in love is dangerous for the heart, and Thierry might not like the man behind the mask.

Review:  This is my first Caitlin Ricci book and I absolutely loved it, the story was wonderful and just sucked me right in. To the Highest Bidder is a fun and totally sexy sci-fi book but is all sweetness and naiveté from the POV of the narrator, Thierry. I got so strongly invested into this book that I didn’t want it to end.

Thierry tells the story. He and his older brother are orphans. Corbin, who is probably around 10 years older, raised Thierry when their parents died. To make enough money to survive Corbin became an intergalactic courtesan and he loves his work (think like companions in the Firefly universe). But because there isn’t enough money Thierry can’t pay for his tuition to become a space pilot at the prestigious Star Pilot Academy.

That is when Corbin comes up with the solution for Thierry to auction off his virginity and that is where this wild ride really takes off.

Thierry is a starry-eyed type of kid (he’s 20) who realizes that he falls in love with the man that brought his virginity. That’s where we get a bit of angst but each of Thierry’s encounters with the mysterious Dragonfly is hot and sexy. Though to be honest Dragonfly’s real identity is really not much of a surprise and it wasn’t set up to be a surprise to the reader/listener.

My 2 criticisms and the reasons why I couldn’t give this a 5/5 rating are: 1) the ending is rushed. I felt like the last chapter and epilogue could have been handled a bit better although they were fantastically set up. 2) Being that we are dealing with aliens I really had a hard time believing the whole age gap thing.

I suppose because in my head different species of aliens that are invented by authors can have as long a life span as the author wanted and so I felt when the age gap was only mentioned one it was out of place.

I have no idea if I will be able to wait long enough to listen to the audio for the next book in the series, which is about Thierry’s brother, but if Jean Samson narrates I will definitely want to listen to it, even if I manage to read it first. Jean Samson’s narration was just brilliant. I love the tone that he used for Thierry, along with his brother, Corbin and Corbin’s boss, Monroe.

If you’re all for some sci-fi alien loving you’re going to love To the Highest Bidder!

Taruk doesn’t exactly understand the recent trend in the elk herd he belongs to toward having arranged marriages, but he’s not overly worried about it, since he’s not high on the pecking order. After seeing how happy his best friend Jenner is with his mate, Cam, Taruk wonders if it’s not so bad. When Leo shows up while he’s house sitting, he responds to the fear and sadness emanating from the young cheetah. The two are drawn together only to be torn apart when Leo’s promised mate arrives and takes Leo away.

The two struggle with the feelings their brief encounter has awakened. Then when disaster strikes, only that new love is enough to hold them both together…

Review: I’m not really sure what exactly happened with this book. Just when things turn dark for Taruk and Leo the story does a complete 180. I was disappointed with this as it almost seems like the story was dropped then picked up again without adding anything in between.

I did not like this story.

Sealed With Honor by A.J. Marcus and Caitlin Ricci

51Cf5Y94Z6L._SX331_BO1,204,203,200_Title: Sealed With Honor

Series:  Signed, Sealed, Delivered, #1

Author(s): A.J. Marcus and Caitlin Ricci

Genre: Erotic Romance/ Paranormal/ Shapeshifter

Length: 80 pages

Publisher: Extasy Books (March 14, 2016)

Blurb: For these two, having an arranged marriage could either be a catastrophe, or the best thing that’s ever happened to them.

Cam has always known that his mating would be arranged by his father, and his best hope is for a mate who respects him and could eventually be friends with him. He has no choice in the matter and is resigned to the worst-case scenario of a mate he’ll end up hating for the rest of his life.

His biggest worry is that he’ll no longer be able to keep his best friend in his life. If his mate says he can’t have friends, that will be the end of it and he won’t be able to say a thing against that decision. It’s his worst fear, and he can’t keep his tears at bay even during his own mating ceremony as he feels like he’s losing the only real friend he’s ever had.

Jenner isn’t entirely sure why his new mate looks like he’s going to his death. He wants to be friends with Cam, and his traditions make it hard to get close to him. His father wanted to make sure he fell in love before he was thirty and thought mating him to someone would be the best way to get that accomplished.

Jenner is looking forward to getting to know his new mate, if only Cam will let that happen. The little glimpses he’s had of the real Cam tell him he’s been mated to a feisty man who won’t back down, and Jenner wants more time with that side of him and a lot less with the one who only wants to do what’s expected of them and looks absolutely miserable all the time.

Having an arranged mating isn’t ideal, but for Cam and Jenner it might be the best thing for them both.

Review: Cam, a fox shifter doesn’t want an arranged marriage but knows he has no choice. His biggest fear is that he won’t be able to see Leo again afterwards. Jenner is intrigued by his mate and wants to get to know both sides of him. But with misunderstanding after misunderstanding he is finding that difficult to do.

While I liked most of the characters in this book I felt it weird that it was written with an arranged marriage. Who does that these days? I felt so bad for Cam having his choices and freedom decided by someone else.

Well written with a lot of drama and some suspense made this book and o.k. read.

Review: I came across Caitlin when she put out her first story and was fascinated by the worlds she created. At the time I had decided to keep an eye out for her stories so that I could grab them up. This story was fascinating to read and I absolutely loved the characters, however it had the one thing in it that, for me brings the ratings and the story down. I do not like cheating of any kind and can’t stand to read it. However that is my fault for not looking at the blurb for the book. Other than that issue, which is my issue the story was damn good

Tom had listened to his friends about losing his virginity. They had suggested going to a party and hooking up. The problem with this was that it turned out that the one he gave it to just happens to be his roommate. His very sexy roommate who just happened to have a girlfriend.

Rem is an ass and I am afraid my opinion of him will stay the same. He not only had Tom, but a girlfriend on the side. One he intended not to tell. Hell, he didn’t even love the girl. But, everything changes for them all when she gets pregnant. Hello?  Where were the condoms? I mean use a brain.

This story takes place over a few years and it will tear your heart up with all that is going on. I mean, I hate to say it, but Rem is a loser and I absolutely wanted to just drop kick him off the cliff. However there is also a side to him that is endearing, also. I was glad for the happy ending, but it didn’t really end the way I wished it had. It just seemed to be missing something to me.

Overall the story was a fascinating read.

Review: Each book in the Masters of Dragon’s collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

This series started out perfectly, but quite frankly this one was a big disappointment. I cannot understand why an author thinks that having more than one partner is needed.

Things change when Avery and Oren get taken by Avery’s old clan. Things heat up and well you can guess. It started out just fine until Avery got with Oren. To me even though it is accepted in the clan, I still think it is cheating. So yes I was very sad to see this happen.

Even though it is well written, it is really too damn short for anything more than a taste. However I am glad that all I got was a taste because when I got to the middle I was quite disappointed.

I am afraid that if this is going to happen in the rest of the stories, I am no longer interested in reading it.

Review: Each book in the Watcher’s collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

Manuel is trying to take out a drug lord who is using shifters. He needs the man’s weakness, but when he finds out the man has a son things get more interesting. Sydney is his mate.

I have read the stories these two authors have out together, and I have to admit that they do have away about them. There is so much promise in them but unfortunately the follow through is not so hot. They start out pretty damn good but then they just seem to fizzle out.

I was hoping that as time went by the books would get better but so far they are coming off pretty much the same. The same problems that is. They just come off very rushed and not fully developed.

I was a bit disappointed in this story but am holding out for the next one.
