Blurb: When rogue orcas are out making trouble for shifters, a young otter doesn’t stand a chance in the open ocean.

Now that he’s reached his age of maturity, otter shifter Noah is ready for his migration, where he’ll travel down the Pacific coast in search of a new place to call home and hopefully find his mate. He has only barely begun when he comes across Herm, another otter, who has his paw tangled up in a wire. He’s hurt and they need help, so Noah calls his cousin. With Denali’s help, Noah and Herm are put up in an empty house while Herm heals up enough to continue on his way.

But the waters aren’t safe for otters, not with a couple of rogue orcas making trouble for them, and as the disappearances increase, Noah realizes they’re all in danger.

He’s sure that Herm is his mate, whether the grumpy old otter wants to admit it or not, and Noah knows he must do anything to protect them both, especially when trouble decides to invite itself in.

Review: Each book in the Patching Up collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. However they can be read as a standalone.

There is nothing better than a good paranormal romance with two gorgeous men involved. Although I really thought that as each story progresses so will the writing, but other than the story changing there is no true progress. It comes off fast paced but also like it was written in a hurry. It has great potential but unfortunately the story was a down side. Which is strange because Caitlin has always been one of my favorite authors.

Orcas are still a bit in the past and cause many bouts of trouble for other shifters. When Noah is migrating after his eighteenth birthday he comes across another otter in trouble. Herm is a bit of an ass, comes off totally wrong for Noah but in the end shows some potential. When the Orca’s causing trouble they must bind together to stop what is going on.

For me, this story wasn’t done justice. It had great potential but came off a bit stiff. It didn’t catch my attention like it should have but it did deflect it either.

I did enjoy reading it, but wished it was flowing off the pages instead of how it came off.

Review: This is the second book in A Planet Called Wish. Corbin loves his life on Wish. He enjoys helping others in any way. Emmanuel is a bounty hunter sent to kill Corbin by one of his own clients.

Emmanuel is gruff and almost emotionless. At first he seems creepy until more is revealed about him. He falls for Corbin but doesn’t like what he does for a living. Which is totally understandable as most don’t want to be with someone permanently who sleeps with others while they’re with you.

Corbin is at a loss as he wants to be with Emmanuel but wants to keep doing what he’s doing. Which I thought was kinda selfish. I was confused as to why Corbin didn’t tell Monroe who had hired the bounty hunter when he found out. After all it was someone who frequented the establishment and that meant putting others in jeopardy.

Although it was a well written story with an interesting plot, I felt it was drawn out at times when there was no need for it to be.

All in all it was an o.k. read that takes the reader into the life of Corbin as his life slowly changes.

Review: To me there is nothing better than a good paranormal romance with two gorgeous men. They always just make the day better. You don’t read many that involve dragons and I have to say that dragons will always be my favorite. This is the first book to a series that I hope makes my top ten favorites.

Avery is an ice dragon who was kicked out of his clan because they had no future use of him. He was the clan whore and knew no better. He was at the bottom of the chain and had to get away. He flew into or I should say he crash landed into another’s territory. One whose leader was not like his old clan at all. Donovan had a lot of work to do to show Avery the good side.

Now it was way too short to give me more than just a taste and left me wanting more. Also it came off very rushed to me with not enough span in between getting there, figuring out certain things and then sex again. It just came off a bit strange and did not flow as well as it should have.

Overall though I had fun with it and look forward to reading the next story. Give me dragons any day.

Blurb: Lex’s life as a Watcher is about to get a lot more complicated when he decides to take on an apprentice, and her protective single father.

As the Watcher for the Northeast, Lex loves lobster, being in the woods, and sex. That last part, though, he keeps hidden from the other Watchers, because they’re supposed to be above those kinds of desires. He gets his fill of men from the local shifter clubs whenever he’s out doing his Watcher duties, and this one is no different. A hot guy, a night of fast sex, and he’s out the door again without anyone knowing more than his name.

But this time it is different, because that one night hook-up is Tucker, and his daughter is Lex’s first apprentice. Addie is headstrong, demanding, and more than Lex can handle. He never thought a seven-year old little girl would be a match for him, but she is, and worse than that is how her father drives Lex nuts one minute and makes him think about the impossibilities of forever in the next.

Review: Each book in the Watchers collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

I think the idea of someone watching over others is the perfect idea. I wished it was true and could help those who needed it.

There are five watchers of different animal souls and they watch over other paranormals. Lex is a caracal shifter whose life is about to go crazy. He has found a new watcher and a very protective father. A father he had sex with the night before, can things get any crazier. It would seem that her father is his mate. Tucker however is not sure of anything but he knows he will protect his daughter at all cost.

The characters are beautifully written with big hearts, however if you cross them, they have no problem putting you down. To me there is nothing better than a good romance, but when it is a paranormal then it hits higher marks to me.

This story was a lot better than the others but I still wished they were a bit longer. Because no matter if you have read them all, they just seem to leave something important out. The problem is I just can’t figure out what it is missing.

Over all though it doesn’t take away from the story and I enjoyed it.

As the son of the bear clan leader, Zeke’s purpose is to take the mate his father has decided for him and bring the Washington clans together. He has a better idea though, one that involves seducing a sexy otter and running away with him instead of doing what his family expects of him.

But things aren’t easy between Phillip and Zeke and with the bears hunting them, and Aedan and Brody. it seems all they ever do is argue. When Zeke finally has enough of it and decides to go back home, secrets that he’s been keeping from Phillip spill out and Phillip turns his back on him. Zeke understands and knows it’s what he deserves.

Review: Each book in the Patching Up collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. Although I would suggest reading the Watcher’s series also because there are crossover characters from there also.

Phillip met Zeke at the bar on his night alone. They ran away with some other otters when Zeke’s clan came after them. Then Phillip finds out that Zeke had been lying the whole time, but when he found out that Zeke’s mate was hurting him he knew he had to help.
Caitlin Ricci and A.J. Marcus are a great team and can give you some pretty amazing stories to read. But, not only are they to short but they come off very rushed and shallow.

You go from their meeting to them running away from the clan. It had a lot of holes in it and I was quite disappointed in the whole story. Well not the whole story, it was a great idea but the follow through was not good. I liked the otter and bear part, but really the bear comes off extremely weak.

I do hope that the next story has some meat to it and more details.

Review: After the last book I read by this author I was expecting something I had never read before but that was not the case. This book is about a blood slave Ash and a Vampire Lord Jai. It was a typical vampire book with a few twists thrown in.

I have to say though it was so slow at times that I found myself losing focus. I would have liked it better if it had been faster. Don’t get me wrong it was a good read but it could have been so much better and intense.

Ash and Jai take forever to actually get together in this book that at times I wondered what the point of them getting together at all was. It seemed as if they danced around each other throughout the entire book until the end.

It was an o.k. read.

Review: I have read many books by this amazing author and this book definitely didn’t disappoint. The way it was told drove me a bit nuts. Going from Caleb’s perspective to Trent’s, but it didn’t take away from the story at all. When you read a book you can usually tell if the author is just doing it for the money or is really into it.

When they right with their feelings put in, makes the book even better in my opinion. This is one of those books. There is so much seriousness to it but you can see the hint of humor also. To me that makes it so much better.

There was something about this book that caught my attention and kept it. I adored the guys even though I would have really wanted to smack them both. I understood why Trent acted the way he did but he comes off as very careless considering he was cop. It made them more loveable and very endearing.

Caleb had been sleeping with his boss. That is until his boss’s wife ran him over. Now he moved to Colorado to start over. He had not expected the cop that knocked on his door though. He wanted Trent but didn’t want to give it a chance. He was saddened by his experience and angered by his past choice. Then he finds out Trent’s secret. He has to decide if it is worth it.

Trent had been in love with Simon, but Simon was in a coma after an accident. He didn’t want to let go, but he also didn’t want to try again. He knew Simon would have wanted him to. He tried to escape the pain by all the warm bodies, but Caleb is the one that pulled at his heart. He needed to change and to have the courage to start again.

I had a blast with this story and look forward to reading the next one. I would definitely recommend reading it. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end.

Review: This book must have been a very difficult one to write because the author is tackling a subject that is very hard to most to understand, asexuality. She does a great job of presenting many misconceptions using Seth’s relationships and interaction with his psychologist and group therapy partners. It was hardest for me to understand the difference between finding pleasure in snuggling, kissing, intimate human touch and not having the driving sexual lust, the need or eventuality of orgasm, even being turned off by the feel of a partner’s erection.

These were difficult situations for me to wrap my brain around but it was done with some sad and some funny examples. I love how Seth got distracted by the need to trim or paint his nails while his boyfriend was masturbating in the bathroom after a cuddle session.

Of Monsters and Men helped me understand the total disconnect sexually, the still have the need for touch, for kiss, for being cuddled. I can also imagine now how difficult that must be for a relationship to work, for a partner to truly understand and not push further.

I had a harder time with the paranormal but this time, it didn’t fit as smoothly with the huge topic the author undertook. The retribution also left me a bit dissatisfied. We also get to see Marius and Jack, and of course the bad boy brother Jeremy.

There’s some drama, some bigots, some interesting talents, some sweet animal shelter matches…but the most interesting part of the story was the explanation and demonstration of asexuality and how one cope with a whole world of people misunderstanding it.

Thanks for the enlightenment!

Blurb: Stealing a unicorn, the most potent source of magic in the world, was not part of Dante’s plan. But neither was falling in love.
As a poor farmer, Dante can’t afford the cures that would bring his brother back from the death-like sleep that has claimed him, but when his sister finds a healer in town, one who promises to help, his family is overjoyed. Naturally cautious, Dante hopes they don’t put too much faith in a stranger, but he is unwilling to turn his back on the chance for his brother to be well again either.

The healer requires very little from them, a family heirloom and as much nightshade as Dante can carry. Though he questions why a healer would need such a poisonous plant, he is far more concerned with saving his brother. When he brings them to the healer’s home, he finds a black unicorn that has been enslaved by the healer.

Aleon is distrustful of people, and with good reason. As the dark mage’s captive, he has endured only torture and pain since he was a child. The mage uses shavings of his horn to heal others, and it is a brutal experience for Aleon. When Dante offers him a way of escape, Aleon is wary, but trusting someone new, or staying a slave until he is killed, isn’t a choice he can afford to let slip away.
With Dante, Aleon begins to understand that he is safe, and possibly even loved, but when the dark mage realizes his unicorn has been stolen, their lives are ripped apart in his rage to get Aleon back.

Staying together, and keeping his family safe, is all Dante wants, but it might be a hopeless dream when a world of magic and darkness rises up against him and he’s forced to make a choice between the man he loves and the family he wants to save.

Review: A magical world of fantasy, magic, deceit and love. I did not like Sethos, a magic user, from the start. He struck me as arrogant, cruel, and sinister and someone who only cared about what he wanted. The way he treated Aleon, the unicorn shifter, when he was a child turned my stomach. I can see why no one liked him. Especially when he takes Aleon for his own gain and keeps him as a slave.

It broke my heart at the way Aleon had been treated until Dante came along. I was very happy that Dante helped him get away from Sethos even though it put them in danger. Dante has a lot going on and sometimes I wondered if he was making the right decisions in some of his dealings. I loved the chemistry between Dante and Aleon once Dante gained his trust.

This book was full of a man intent on finding someone to help his brother, someone out for his own gain no matter the cost and two people stuck in dangerous situations because of someone who in my opinion was evil. Though it was an o.k. read it was a little disturbing as I don’t care for stories where they hurt a child in any way shape or form. So this story kind of turned me against it from the beginning.

It was an o.k. read.

Review: Country Strong is a very beautiful story of a man and his best friend, his one stability in life, the one thing that gives him reason to carry on in this world.

His horse.

Wyatt is 25 almost 26, cast out at a young age for being gay, has always loved horses and dreamed one day to have his own. Living in the town, working a decent job, he can’t afford to own a horse and finds a farm that leases horses to people who can’t have one of their own. Its win-win for all involved. Wyatt fell in love with his lease horse and with it being an older horse had made an oral rent to own agreement with the owner and in a few months General will be his.

One day while riding it thundered and General shied some causing Wyatt to fall. Kellan a man who trains horses for the owner had dropped off a couple saw Wyatt’s accident and saved him. To Wyatt’s dismay, Alan decided to sell General since he is a teaching horse he couldn’t have him hurting kids.

Wyatt developed an instant attraction to Kellen, even though he is a much older man. Kellen also couldn’t get the younger man out of his mind. Kellen could see how attached Wyatt was to General and bought General to retrain and possibly return so Wyatt could get him back. Not all plans go as expected. Feelings change, new ones develop and complications set in.

I fell in love with Wyatt right away. The passion he had for general was to die for. The story has a great storyline and isn’t nearly as predictable as it seems it may be. There are some soft twists; touching scenes, tight friendship, and conflict and of course some pretty darn hot man-sex. I add Wyatt and Kellen to my favourite couples list for this year.

If you like modern-day westerns, friends to lovers, close friends (M/F-no sex) cowboys, and some touching scenes and of course some sensual hot man-sex this is for you! I would love to see this develop into a series. It has such great promise!

Max’s high pressure job as a surgeon is getting to him and he’s starting to suffer for it. His roommate Simon has a solution for him, but is Max ready to give up control or will this Dom have to work for it?

Review: This is a re-release expanded to over twenty thousand words. It was first released in December 2012. I was quite surprised by this story. It was not exactly what I expected but not bad. In fact, I loved it. I do wish that it were a longer story though. I have always loved Caitlin’s stories. She gives you characters that you can fall in love with and this one has a twist to the ending. It was amazing story.

Max is a top-notch surgeon who is starting to burn out. He is getting the shakes, is tired all the time, and just wearing himself down. It is leading the point that his roommate Simon is getting worried. Simon has wanted his roommate from the moment he moved in. He is a Dom, not so much into pain though. He wants Simon and knows that this man needs to let down his control and give it over to someone else. He plans to be that person that Max gives it too.

Now all he has to do is to tell Max about it. He has one more secret but he doesn’t have plans to let that one go. He is in to controlling things, but can he control his own body to not betray his secret. It is until one night of full-blown passion when that secret is let out. Now will Max fear him, or want him even more

This is an amazing story about dominates and submissives. It is also about the trust one places on another. I love this type of story. It brings things forward with certain forbidden thoughts. If you love dominates and submissives, two hot and sexy men, the love felt by others, vampires and control then this is going to be the book for you.

Blurb: Christmas is a time of fascination and joy, and that’s no different when you belong to a pack of wolves.

Liam knows that a trip to Ireland over Christmas break will be the perfect chance to show his husband and daughter one of his favorite places in the world. But when she sees someone she wasn’t supposed to, his world is rocked. Back home things aren’t much better as Hannah reveals a secret she’s been keeping bundled up inside and it means taking a chance on something new for both Liam and Travis.

Review: This book was amazing. It has the right amount of excitement, danger, sex, and sweet-talking.

It is Christmas time again and it is the time for joy and fascination. Which among a pack of wolves means it is just going to be more enticing. Hannah is Liam and Travis daughter, but she has this gift of being able to see their animal sides while they are a human. At one time, they were afraid for her safety. Now a trip to Ireland gives Liam the chance to show them his favorite place, but Hannah see’s something that will rock him to the core.

Going home didn’t help matters. When they find out Hannah has been hiding a secret from them. Liam is a mixture of alpha, beta, and enforcer. He has the strength to defend his world, but the compassion for his people. He is so much in love with Travis that it would make your teeth ache at the sugary way about it. Travis is tender, caring, charismatic, very loving, and majorly hot. He also loves his family and would give everything up to keep them safe. The sex between them is loving, tender, and full of passion. It has a bit of seriousness and humor to it.

I am amazed at Caitlin’s ability to make a wonderful world and great character come together. She has a gift for words and I love her stories. To get more information on these characters you really need to start with book one in this series. I can see myself reading this more than once and can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Blurb:  Eleven wonderful years together and for Liam and Travis, life still holds surprises.

Liam has been avoiding taking his vacations for a while now. There’s always something that stops him from getting some much needed time away with his husband. But with a little intervention that isn’t exactly legal, he gets just what he needs in the form of a forced relaxation trip with Travis. They’ve been through a lot together, both good and bad, but that’s what marriage is. They love each other and have a wonderful daughter and its everything either of them ever thought it would be.

Review: This was a pretty good story with wonderful characters. It is book number five in this series and you should start with book one to understand everything. I loved the characters that Caitlin has created. They have such outstanding personalities that just mesh with each other.

Liam and Travis gets kidnapped by one of their own and forced to take a vacation. Liam has been avoiding vacations all together for a while and even though he loves his mate, he wants to keep everything the way it is. However, there are many surprises after such a long time married. The three days of vacation was hot and full of passion. They talked and loved. Their daughter Hannah is a little wonder. She has the powers still yet to be found out, the beauty she will grow up to be and surprises of her own.

It is a cute story that will make you smile at times and laugh at others. I just wished that this story were longer, with a bit more to it. I want to hear about the whole time they spend away, a little bit more loving and sexual situations. It just misses something but I am not sure what.

Blurb: Detective Jamison Landry knew his job was never going to be easy. He’s dealt with the worst criminals imaginable and believes in his work and the community he serves. But he’s never met someone quite like Mal before.

Plus, things turn from unusual to downright strange when people start insisting Mal isn’t quite human. And Jamison’s creepy dreams of crows and graveyards don’t make things any better for him.

Will Mal stay around long enough for Jamison to figure out his secrets, even learn his full name, or will this stranger leave him aching for more?

Review: Usually I can find the words for anything there is that needs to be said, but this book just takes that away from me. Sort of that is. This story is about one sexy demon named Mal and a human named Jamison. It is told with such humor that most of the time I was laughing and the rest of the time, I was bewildered. It has the perfect amount of danger, excitement, adventure, and humor that it was absolutely perfect.

Jamison is a human with a good soul. He however feels like he is losing his mind. He saves Mal from a group of the craziest cult members he has ever seen, saying that Mal is a demon and should be held prisoner. The only glitch is the fact that they were right. Mal is a powerful demon from hell, who decides the punishment for those who have committed the worst sins. He decides who goes to hell and who goes to heaven. He is quite old, however when he is around Jamison he acts like a child. He confuses the hell out of Jamison, to the point that Jamison can’t decide whether to let him stay or leave. Mal protects Jamison with every bit of power in him, to the point hell no longer wants him. Jamison is a loving, caring, loyal police officer set to protect those who needed protection. Mal on the other hand is kind of crazy, bloodthirsty. However, he is falling in love with a human. There is a lot of talk about sex, with just a bit of passion and fire added in.

This story was a surprise to say the least. I wasn’t sure at first whether it would make it in my list of best stories ever, but it actually ranked up there in the top ten. You have two very sexy men wanting each other to the point of losing their minds, excitement going on all around you, words of passion and anger in this story. Jamison has the ability to overcome the fear of the unknown and see something good in a demon. Caitlin has such a gift in the way she tells a story, the worlds she creates, and such wonderful characters that she has made my top ten favorite authors. I absolutely loved this story and really can’t wait to read more of Caitlin’s books. If you love sexy men, great plots, story line, and action you really need to check this book out. It is hot.

Rescuing Jack by Caitlin Ricci with Guest Post

Hey guys, today we have Caitlin Ricci popping in to introduce us to her new novel Rescuing Jack. So see what Caitlin has to say about her newest release and check out what Gigi has to say about Rescuing Jack in her review 🙂 ~Pixie~

Hello! Thank you for stopping by and spending a little time with me, Caitlin Ricci. Today I wanted to talk about a world in which werewolves are real and how being yourself sometimes comes at a price.

20529075For Rescuing Jack I wanted to do something different than in the previous werewolf stories that I’ve written. I wanted a world where werewolves were out in the open and had started taking a stage in the greater world around them. Marius has lived in this one little town for years and he cares about his community and knows that he’s helping others with the animal shelter that he and his best friend opened. When werewolves were asked to come out of hiding, he chose to reveal himself. He lost friends and the respect of people he cared about but found of what it meant to have other people stick by him. In many ways he wishes he’d come out sooner.

I think we’ve all had times in our lives where something happens and people reveal themselves for who they really are. It could be a lottery winning or it could be something tragic. Sadly most of us that go through this encounter the second option. Its normal for people to change when their ideas of us shift. Not many people can easily cope with change but the ones who stick around, even if they take a little time off, are the ones worth keeping.  It may be corny but that’s how you figure out who your real friends are and not just the ones hanging around with you for the good times.

Thank you for hanging out with me today. My next novel, Rescuing Jack, comes out from Dreamspinner Press on February 7th. I’m excited because this is my first novel with them but also because these characters are ones that really stood up and grabbed my attention right away. I knew I had to write about them and in a short amount of time this novel came to be.

I’d love to know what you thought of it. Feel free to email me at authorcaitlinricci@gmail.com or visit me online at www.caitlinricci.com.

20529075Werewolves are real. Marius enjoys the irony that everyone calls him a dog whisperer, not just because he’s a werewolf, but for his work at the local animal shelter. He has a unique talent for pairing families with their perfect pets upon first meeting them. But he’s still looking for acceptance and a forever family of his own. Then Jack comes into the rescue looking for a big, mean dog. To prevent Jack from making the wrong choice, Marius convinces him to adopt a needy spaniel mix instead. But when Marius learns Jack is tormented by horrible memories while at his apartment, he opens his home to the sweet, scared man. As their relationship grows, Jack feels comfortable telling Marius about the horrors he suffered. Marius hopes his steady presence, protection, and love can help Jack reclaim the pieces of himself broken on that terrible night.

Review: This book will touch the hearts of those who love and support rescue shelters, those who believe something damaged by tragedy or abuse is worth the work of healing, repairing, and giving a second chance. Marius runs a rescue shelter for a wide variety of animals, he takes them in, gives them medical care, love and training, to help repair any abuse former owners have inflicted. Then he matches them up with the perfect owner, someone who compliments them and can provide a loving home and a new life. Lucky for Jack, it seems Marius’ skills and passions expand to humans as well.

Many would have taken one look at Jack and shied away from the introverted, easily spooked man, wearing the same rumpled clothing day after day, seemingly without the ability to clearly communicate among many other social discomforts. If fact, that’s the way Jack prefers it, to be left alone, unnoticed, untouched. He’s been left broken, in his mind even contaminated, by a horrible experience, and is making his first foray out into the world to get himself a big dog, presumably to protect him from what he fears.

Thankfully, Marius sees through Jack’s strange exterior to the heart of a wounded man with a lot of love to give, not only to a homeless Spaniel, but to himself as well. Does Marius have the patience to help this wounded soul, without scaring him away? Will Jack find the match meant for him…in a new dog, and a new hope for love? The relationship grows, though slowly, and delicately. No big heavy, dominate love scenes here, just patient understanding, and genuine care.

Fears and hope for the future are both affected by the discrimination that Marius, a werewolf out to his friends and community, seems to experience on a daily basis. This story is like a snapshot of time and place, with many back-stories. We get a greater sense of issues involving the werewolf minorities coming out publicly, and community acceptance and prejudices of them happening “off screen” as it were. This is a different sort of werewolf story, no major “alpha” posturing here, no claiming, no territory disputes. Not the usual fare, more innovative, and much left to the imagination. The only werewolf actions that occur involve Marius shifting to track down some jerks who egg his business, and later involving his brother tracking down Jack’s offenders.

All-in-all a refreshing new way to write about shifters, and a very true look at those who love animals, support adoption through rescue shelters, and believe we all deserve healing hearts and second chances, no matter out past, our age, or our damage.

Blurb: Getting captured was least of this stubborn alpha’s worries.

Officer Christopher Saunders just completed his K-9 training and he can’t wait to pick out his first partner. But when none of the specially trained dogs catches his eye, he gets disappointed, until he sees a heroic stray on the news. Christopher is sure he can train the dog himself, if only given the chance.
Too bad Samson has other plans. But going home with this man is a better idea than waiting for his pack to figure out he’d been stupidly captured like some common poodle. The collar and leash also had to go. There was no way he’d be wearing those for long.

This is an expanded re-release.

Review: This book was a tad bit hard to get into at first, but once I got over the first paragraph or two it flowed right on.

It was extremely funny and you can tell parts of it were suppose to be serious, but really it didn’t come off that away for which I am glad. I laughed my butt off with this story. There is not really much of a plot, but I imagine by book two there will be. It was a really cute story line. Human meets shape shifter and vice versa is one of my truly favorite reads. Christopher was an innocent it would seem, very gentle and kind with a heart of gold. He needed a k-9 partner but just couldn’t find one till he sees a dog on the news. What he had not expected was this dog was really a shape shifter. Samson however had different ideas, well until he actually realized he liked Christopher. Samson was the alpha of his pack, tough and hard, well until he hears a child. He saved the child from a house fire, but out of air he was just like anyone else, easy to catch. You can tell that there is fire between them, but Samson takes it really slow for Christopher’s sake.

I wished that this story were not only longer, but a little more background to it. I think I would love to read the next book in this series to see if it will tell a little more about their connection.

Review: This is a pretty good book, yet it is not as long as I would like. It has such a great story line that amazes me. Liam and Travis are mates, who at one time had a hard time being allowed to stay together. All because of Travis’s special daughter, Hannah. Hannah is four and has the ability to see the wolves inside of each shifter.

I love how they are so protective to each other and to Hannah. They have so much love and passion for each other, that it makes you want what they have. I for one would love to be the receiver of what they feel for each other. This is what I would call a lovey dovey story kind of sappy and touching.

To understand this story better you would need to read the series in order. It makes it easier to figure out the bits and pieces that seem to be missing, if you were just reading this on its own. The sex between them is tender, loving, and so dang hot. They can’t seem to stand to be apart even for a small bit of time, but when they get together it is smoking hot.

Even if there aren’t a lot of sexual parts in the book, you can just tell by the way they react to each other. The way they glance at each other and cannot seem to keep their eyes off each other. The caring way they are with Hannah shows that they are wonderful parents and their protective reactions when they think she can be hurt. I really liked the way the story unfolded.

Review: So first, I’d like to comment on the cover. Absolutely Stunning! However it gave the impression of a raw, brutal adventure coming alive with the words hidden inside it, and unfortunately that was not the case.

This is precisely why I don’t like to read blurbs and watch covers, they either lead you wrong or rise your expectations way up. In this very short read we got to meet Damiano, who by the way is so full of himself I couldn’t stand it. Damiano comes from a family that breeds sky captains. His brother, his father, his grandfather, and now he himself. He is destined to be great. Of course that is all in his head because the moment a true challenge rears up its head he freezes like a deer in the headlights.

I didn’t like this character. The story was so short that all I got from it was a character that got no chance to prove itself to me, to make me admire him, and like him, and possibly ever love him. Nope, nothing. His first mate did indeed save his captain, but then again we didn’t get to meet him either.

So while all the premises were solid and good for a nice story, there was no story. I needed so much more in there. Truth be told my ire is perhaps caused by the fact that I got so much engrossed with the story I didn’t even realize that it ended. One moment I was reading it and nodding my head because things finally got at that hot point ready to explode, the next I’m reading author’s bio and thinking “what on Earth just happened?”

Yeah so, a good one, but I wish it lasted more…
