Blurb: His attraction to men means Kalean is the black sheep of his wealthy and powerful family—but it won’t get him out of attending his brother’s pretentious wedding ceremony. Kalean doesn’t want to go, but if his parents insist, he has a stipulation: he’ll be there with a man on his arm.

On the pleasure planet, Wish, Kalean goes to a brothel to meet some potential escorts. But the man who captures his attention isn’t one of those on offer….

Descani is as surprised as anyone at Kalean’s attraction to him—and at his own interest in the young man. He’s even more perplexed as a bond begins forming between them.

But a murder rips apart Kalean’s family and redefines his role. He’ll be isolated on his cold and barren home world, far from the warm and colorful planet of Wish—and the arms of the man who’s coming to mean so much to him—unless he can find a way to escape the forces separating them.

Review: Even though his family is well to do Kalean has no say in his life what so ever. He is demanded to attend his brother wedding so he also demands he be allowed to bring a male partner. Here is where the pleasure brothel comes in at as Kalean goes there to find someone to take with him. He meets Descani and knows he’s the one.

The two have different lives and with family trying to interfere it causes chaos. But the two are determined to be with one another. This is not a monogamous relationship as Descani continues to work and enjoy it. Kalean for his part accepts Descani’s decision to remain working.

There are twists and turns that make for an added element to the story.

Blurb: Sometimes there’s a difference between duty and doing what’s right. And sometimes doing what’s right comes with a high price.

Every aspasian at Asiq adores the handsome peacekeeper Resan—all except for Arin. While the other workers vie for Resan’s attention, Arin avoids him at all costs, which rouses Resan’s suspicion. When he discovers Arin is a runaway slave, Resan is bound by law to return him to his master. It is only later that Resan realizes what he’s done. Arin’s owner bought him at twelve, married him, and not only violated Arin himself, but loaned him out to his friends. Resan has returned him to a life of rape and abuse, and now he must make a decision: free Arin and abandon the oaths he swore as a peacekeeper, or leave him to languish and abandon his own conscience and heart.

Review: I don’t know quite how to begin this review. I’ll start with the characters themselves. Resan is a peacekeeper and believes one hundred percent in upholding the law no matter the circumstances. He’s arrogant and I honestly could not stand him until the very end.

Arin works at Asiq and tries his best to stay away from the peacekeeper due to the fact he is runaway slave of a deplorable man. Resan fins out and gets in touch with Arin’s master to give him back. When the meeting happens he learns Arin was sold to man at twelve years old and has been raped repeatedly since by the man and his friends. This is where I actually got sick to my stomach.

I hate stories with any child rape in them especially when said story mentions it over and over again. Trust me I got the message the first time it was said. It was hard to believe Rasen did a one eighty and wanted to help Arin I did not believe it in the least. The whole story seemed as though it was forced and at times was confusing in its explanations.

I cannot fathom in a situation where someone forced someone back into a life where they are being abused, then to start to trust the individual responsible for putting them back into the situation? Not in the world I live in it doesn’t happen. So naturally I did not believe a relationship would form other than hate at being put into the situation after having escaped it to begin with.

I still cannot wrap my mind around this story, nor do I want to. Just glad it’s over.

I absolutely did not like anything about this story.

Blurb: For two decades Corbin Leroux has worked on the planet Wish as a high-priced companion. He loves his life where physical pleasure is encouraged and has no intention of quitting it. Corbin sees his clients almost as part of his family. Not even when bounty hunter Emmanuel Leoniste comes to kill him will Corbin roll over and give up his lifestyle.

Despite being a hired killer, Emmanuel lives by a strict moral code. Killing whores is acceptable, and easy. Or it was until he met up with Corbin. Worn down by the pesky Corbin’s resolve, Emmanuel accepts Corbin’s bribe and calls off the hit. But the truce might not last. Emmanuel’s mounting desires for Corbin cause problems. He refuses to allow anyone close enough to become intimate with him, especially someone like Corbin.

Yet with each smile and soft kiss, Emmanuel’s emotional shield is dismantled piece by piece.

Review: This is the second book in A Planet Called Wish. Corbin loves his life on Wish. He enjoys helping others in any way. Emmanuel is a bounty hunter sent to kill Corbin by one of his own clients.

Emmanuel is gruff and almost emotionless. At first he seems creepy until more is revealed about him. He falls for Corbin but doesn’t like what he does for a living. Which is totally understandable as most don’t want to be with someone permanently who sleeps with others while they’re with you.

Corbin is at a loss as he wants to be with Emmanuel but wants to keep doing what he’s doing. Which I thought was kinda selfish. I was confused as to why Corbin didn’t tell Monroe who had hired the bounty hunter when he found out. After all it was someone who frequented the establishment and that meant putting others in jeopardy.

Although it was a well written story with an interesting plot, I felt it was drawn out at times when there was no need for it to be.

All in all it was an o.k. read that takes the reader into the life of Corbin as his life slowly changes.
