Bryan Mills has fantasized about cowboys all his life. Real cowboys, that is. He even dresses in what his roommate calls “cowboy drag” when he visits his favorite bar, in the hope of attracting the attentions of a genuine cowboy. But all he usually finds are posers and guys his own age.

Then one night, to his surprise, Curtis Hansen buys him a beer, and Bryan has no doubt this is the real thing. Curtis is a rugged, gorgeous man who is every bit a cowboy. He even owns his own ranch. What follows is about the most amazing night of Bryan’s young life.

But can they move beyond a night of incredible sex when Bryan admits to Curtis that the only horse he’s ever ridden was a birthday party pony? And that he’s nothing but a poser himself? Maybe, just maybe, Curtis can find the real cowboy inside Bryan, and they can ride off into the sunset together!

We Met In Dreams

by

In Victorian London, during a prolonged and pernicious fog, fantasy and reality are about to collide—at least in one man’s troubled mind.

A childhood fever left Arthur Middleton, Viscount Campden, seeing and hearing things no one else does, afraid of the world outside, and unable to function as a true peer of the realm. To protect him from himself—and to protect others from him—he spends his days heavily medicated and locked in his rooms, and his nights in darkness and solitude, tormented by visions, until a stranger appears.

This apparition is different. Fox says he’s a thief and not an entirely good sort of man, yet he returns night after night to ease Arthur’s loneliness without asking for anything in return. Fox might be the key that sets Arthur free, or he might deliver the final blow to Arthur’s tenuous grasp on sanity. Either way, real or imaginary, Arthur needs him too much to care.

Fox is only one of the many secrets and specters haunting Campden House, and Arthur will have to face them all in order to live the life of his dreams.

Review: Two men taken to safety as children will come together twenty five years later to save the world.  Xander is a Skythane. He’s had a hard life. Abused at the hands of a diabolical man’s hands he is saved one day by Alix who cherishes and nurtures him until Alix disappears.

Jameson grew up in a religious home and became a psych. He helps people as is what he’s always wanted to do. The time comes when he is tasked to find out where a drug called Pith comes from. It will be a journey fraught with revelations and danger, spanning decades of memories.

The twists and turns and the buried memories were spellbinding to witness. This book had it all. Drama, mystery, suspense, a corrupt corporation, a world on the brink of destruction, characters that added insight to the ever growing mystery as to what it going on, and two men who discover who they truly are and what they are destined for. Simply put this was a fascinating story that grabs your attention from the start.

I absolutely loved, loved, loved this story. If I could rate it more than a five I would. The Skythane people were described beautifully as well as the worlds themselves. It was so elaborate that I felt as though I was there every step of the way. It was an amazing story from start to finish.

Highly recommended for all.

Blurb: Nate is caught between two dangerously hot vampires who can compel people to do whatever they want and a ruthless necromancer who wants Nate for all the wrong reasons—and that’s only the start of his problems.

Escort Nate prides himself on two things: his ability to please his clients and his normality – living in the monster capital of the world, ordinary is rare. Hunter, a darkly charming vampire with more charisma than is good for him, decides Nate is just what he needs. Nate’s sympathetic nature and skill in the bedroom are put to the ultimate test. But Hunter wants Nate for someone else – his brother, Ben. Nate is immediately attracted by the control with which Ben holds his sensitive nature in force. Too afraid of becoming a monster to allow himself to feel, Ben struggles to resist Nate’s generosity of emotion. As a vindictive necromancer makes Ben his target of revenge, Nate discovers that making people feel good doesn’t compare to making Ben feel. As Nate’s normal world crumbles around him, and he desperately searches for a way to save Ben, Nate is unable to escape becoming the necromancer’s latest victim.

But Nate’s death is only the beginning. Coming back to life in the bathroom of Gunn, a Department Seven officer who hates the vampire family that Ben and Hunter belong to, Nate doesn’t know who to trust or even what he is. As the necromancer’s trap pulls tighter around himself and Ben, Nate is forced to let go of normal and embrace powers he doesn’t fully understand. In defiance of Ben’s vampire sire and hunted by Department Seven, Nate and Ben finally learn to trust and rely on each other. But when the necromancer succeeds in capturing Ben, Nate alone can come to his rescue.

Review: This story did not turn out at all like I had thought it would. There was more detail to it than I thought was needed and to slow paced for me. For such a long story, I felt like I was drowning in details. I love a good paranormal, but this came off more fantasy then anything. I could not really get into the characters as I should have. It felt a bit off to me.

Nate is an escort and has come to the attention of a very powerful vampire. However the attention was not what caught my eye, it was the fact that Hunter wanted Nate to be a brother. Which is strange in itself. Now Ben had been turned by Hunter about a year ago, and now here is Nate to help them celebrate. Ben comes off a bit, well off. He is cold in a way that one would not expect, but he doesn’t really seem that happy about Nate. Especially since Nate is immune to him. Then you add in a jealous necromancer, and let’s just say it is about to get all interesting to say the least.

I hate to say that I basically had to rush through this and skimmed most of it. It didn’t really catch my attention like it should have. I also did not really care for the sex business at all, which was a downside for me. Although the way this author wrote it was a bit better than most. There really wasn’t any shame or regret shown, so that was a nice change for me.

I enjoyed the mystery that this story seemed to have going on inside of it. One would sit on the edge of their seats trying to figure it out, was a great plus. I loved the fresh new touch to the paranormal and fantasy world that this author has created, plus it was very quirky in away. So it took a few chapters to get to the point that my attention was captured but I am afraid that it just came too late for me. The ritualistic killings were a bit strange, but for this type of story it rocked. It was not written in a dark tone so that was a major hit for me, because I really can’t get into gross deaths.

I am not really sure if I will read the next book, but since this is the first in a new series I will just wait and see. For now I will just say that this book really wasn’t for me.

Review: To enjoy this series I would suggest starting with the first book.

Ben was dead and after two years of being gone, Matt needs a change.  Jordan is back in his life but he wants to go slowly and for me that sounds good.  However for the story it wasn’t.  Cops are still after him, there is a homophobic district attorney and Matt is doing some really weird exercises in this book.  There is something major missing from this whole story, but I just don’t know what.

It is a very slow paced story and that right there was a problem for me.  My attention just couldn’t be kept on the book at all.  Now what Matt has gone through is horrible, and then there is Jordan who seems a bit off.  There is no chemistry between them and no passion to be seen.  The whole story just felt off and fell flat to me.  It felt like everything was thrown together and the editors missed some good spots.

The story felt repetitive and boring. It is a dry tone with very little emotion added on, although what the characters are going through is emotional; the story just doesn’t do it justice.  I am afraid that this story and series was just not for me.

Blurb: Zeki Janowitz has returned to his hometown of Wolf’s Paw to start his wizarding career. Unfortunately, Wolf’s Paw, a werewolf refuge, follows centuries of tradition and shuns human magic and a very human Zeki. He knows he’s in for a struggle, but a part of him has always belonged in the mountain town, or rather belonged to Theo Greenleaf. Years away at school haven’t lessened Zeki’s crush on the quiet werewolf. When town gossip informs him Theo still suffers from his mate’s rejection and does not date, it does little to ease Zeki’s embarrassing feelings. He decides now’s the time to get the man he’s always wanted.

Werewolves usually don’t recover from losing their mates, and Theo barely pulled through by focusing on his love of baking. It’s a daily struggle, and Zeki’s return to Wolf’s Paw shatters his peace. Theo doesn’t know what to think when Zeki attempts to woo him, talking about his wizarding business and settling in town for good. It’s like Zeki doesn’t have a clue how his words years before left Theo a shell of a werewolf.

Beginners in love, Theo and Zeki must seduce each other with a bit of heavenly baking and magic.

Review: If you like paranormal romances – and I know that most of us that do will devour just about anything with wolves and mates as long as there is a sign for a HEA and a lot of loving – then this is one of those impulse reads (audios) that are just wonderful to come across. Yes, it is part of a series, but you needn’t have read the previous books, these works as a standalone. However, with hints of the next book in the series I’m seriously looking forward to the next installment.

A Beginner’s Guide to Wooing Your Mate is aptly named because the MCs are so inexperienced when it comes to love they really are beginners. Their mating bond kicked in too early in life that they never were able to start anything – what with teenage hormones and emotions in the way. Zeki and Theo are strong characters and that is why life happened the way it did for both of them. Zeki may be a human in a world where shifters are superior, but he is also a wizard and therefore capable of channeling magic, even though that is also seen as second best in a world where men can change into animals.

The only thing that really bugged me about this book is that the pack treat Zeki shitty to begin with when what happened between him and Theo was a misunderstanding between two teenagers still in high school. Yes, Theo has suffered but he is stronger as a result but the main theme in this book is that we always see things differently as children as we do when we’re adults.

As for the narration, really well done and on point, I’ve heard Robert Nieman in the past but I don’t think I’ve ever been as fully on board with his narration as I was during this book.

Review: To enjoy this series I would suggest starting with the first book.

Now this book does give you warning that tragedy strikes, but let’s just say I wasn’t ready for it and I absolutely hated it after that.  It was the reason that my rating went down.  Also when he was in and out, the paragraphs got smaller and for me just a bit confusing.  Other than my issues with this story, well let’s just say read the story.

Matt was in love with two men.  Jordan and Matt had broken up and gotten back together, but miscommunication and the fact that Jordan was an ass, they ended up over.  Then in comes Ben who Matt had fallen for, but been warned to stay away by his mother and things heat up.  Then tragedy strikes and well you will just have to read the story.

It is an interesting story, if not a bit confusing and dry at some parts of it.  I am afraid that it wasn’t one of my favorites, but it was still an enjoyable read.  I will leave my final judgement after I read the next book.

Review: If you’re like me and totally a sucker for anything that involves shifters, then this is the (audio) book for you! We have a shifter who is speciest against humans, a humans who knows about supernaturals (not too much of a spoiler I promise), a clan (Clowder) of cat shifters … and well it’s a tried and true recipe for a good paranormal romance. Derrick McClain’s narration is also wonderful, getting the voice of both MCs on point.

Although this is book 2 of MA Church’s Fur, Fangs, and Felines series, this is the first one that I’ve read. I had no problem picking up on the characters, there is some overlap, as part of the back story explains the events of book 1 enough for anyone to understand.

Heller Wirth is our feline shifter, he shifts into a black house cat with strikingly blue eyes. He’s not a fan of humans and for good reason, though he paints a whole species with the one brush is a little OTT in my book, it does make sense he is wary of people. He didn’t take it well when his best friend mated a human in book 1, but he’s gotten over that for the most part. But one day he discovers his mate is newly moved into town and very human! Lawson Dupre owns a car wash and detail (I was rather tickled by this because my high school job was at a car wash and detail!) business with his two best friends. They’re not exactly human and they can smell when something changes for Lawson, even though Lawson has no idea what is going on with him. There’s a lot of wariness, some silly miscommunication by two people falling in love but overall a good time and very satisfying read.

I won’t gush anymore. But rest assured I NEED to get the rest of the books in this series, especially the next one!

Review: Alec is a new author for me so I wasn’t too sure what to expect. Now the title is what caught my eye from the start, then I read the blurb and I couldn’t wait to read it. However once I started reading it, I felt a little bit disappointed. The blurb made it sound like this exciting and funny story, however the follow thru was lacking. The sentences were short and very curt, which made the story fall flat and sloppy. The story just didn’t flow right at all for me.

Matt’s job is to protect other people’s property, except he has no clue how to protect himself. Ben is a customer who is very much interested in Matt, but Matt doesn’t realize it. There is probably only one sex scene in the whole book and let’s just say there is no build up whatsoever. They get in the car; go to dinner, to the next morning. You are told that there is some hot sex, but you don’t see it. There is no connection here.

This author stated Feds, but used British terms. It felt like the author got their languages all screwed up. What was supposed to be funny just fell short of being a bit dull. There is no build up and there is no true story here. How did the man get into the business, for one? The location was never stated so one had no clue where they were at. Plus the police part just doesn’t even seem plausible let alone real enough. Plus one night he is in love with Ben, then the next night he is in love with Jordan, but none of it is more than just talk. You get more description about their room then you do anything else.

I was hoping for an exciting story but I am afraid that this story was just not for me.

Review: Sasha was a gay teenager in Russia, when he was attacked and ran.  He knew he had to go somewhere safe.  Two years later, here he was homeless and broke.  He was behind a nightclub taking something out of the trash, when Joel found him.

Joel and his partner owned a really sweet nightclub that was considered the best.  When he found Sasha, he figured he was just too old for the kid.  But he did offer him a job as a dancer, and it turned out he was one of the best.  Then all hell breaks when Joel’s mother passes, and his business partner started his life of crime, so to speak.  If you really want to know more about this juicy story, read the book.

Now I have to admit, the story was given away by the blurb.  Which was to bad but the story itself was still pretty good.  It was just bad that I already knew what was going to happen.  Other than that problem, the story was pretty good.  The characters were perfect for each other and let’s face it Sasha is just a cutie.  Joel was a strong but caring man who loved his employees, but thought the age difference between him and Sasha was a bad thing.  Glad to see he changed his mind.  What was surprising was the fact that Sasha really wasn’t in the story too much, but he was there in a different way.

I found that even though at first I wasn’t really sure if I wanted to give this book a chance, and I was glad in the end that I did.  I loved the fact that it wasn’t just a super sweet little love story, that it had action, suspense, danger and some hot sex.  I enjoyed reading it and would definitely recommend it to all.

Review: Usually I can find the words for anything there is that needs to be said, but this book just takes that away from me. Sort of that is. This story is about one sexy demon named Mal and a human named Jamison. It is told with such humor that most of the time I was laughing and the rest of the time, I was bewildered. It has the perfect amount of danger, excitement, adventure, and humor that it was absolutely perfect.

Jamison is a human with a good soul. He however feels like he is losing his mind. He saves Mal from a group of the craziest cult members he has ever seen, saying that Mal is a demon and should be held prisoner. The only glitch is the fact that they were right. Mal is a powerful demon from hell, who decides the punishment for those who have committed the worst sins. He decides who goes to hell and who goes to heaven. He is quite old, however when he is around Jamison he acts like a child. He confuses the hell out of Jamison, to the point that Jamison can’t decide whether to let him stay or leave. Mal protects Jamison with every bit of power in him, to the point hell no longer wants him. Jamison is a loving, caring, loyal police officer set to protect those who needed protection. Mal on the other hand is kind of crazy, bloodthirsty. However, he is falling in love with a human. There is a lot of talk about sex, with just a bit of passion and fire added in.

This story was a surprise to say the least. I wasn’t sure at first whether it would make it in my list of best stories ever, but it actually ranked up there in the top ten. You have two very sexy men wanting each other to the point of losing their minds, excitement going on all around you, words of passion and anger in this story. Jamison has the ability to overcome the fear of the unknown and see something good in a demon.

Caitlin has such a gift in the way she tells a story, the worlds she creates, and such wonderful characters that she has made my top ten favorite authors. I absolutely loved this story and really can’t wait to read more of Caitlin’s books. If you love sexy men, great plots, story line, and action you really need to check this book out. It is hot.

Ryan Alback has almost everything he’s ever wanted: a successful acting career, a dog who adores him, great family and friends, and a life outside the closet. The only thing missing is a boyfriend—but Ryan’s been burned by Hollywood relationships before, and he’s not eager to try one again.

Jason Santos has almost everything he’s ever wanted: a fulfilling career teaching middle school, a house in a city he loves, and parents who support him in every way. Too bad he can’t seem to forget the ex-boyfriend who rejected his marriage proposal.

When a talk show host launches a dating contest to find Ryan a boyfriend and Jason accidentally wins, neither of them expect anything to come from it. Yet somewhere between a disastrous massage and a mud sinkhole, they both start to wonder if this date could be more than just a public relations stunt. But before they can move into the future, they’ll both have to learn to let go of the past.

Shield Captain Bennet arrives on the Gyrfalcon to take up his final year’s posting before returning to the Shield Regiment after his rotation out.

On Gyrfalcon he faces up to the fallout from Makepeace—ethical, political and above all, personal. Will he be able to accept necessity: that knowing what the Maess are up to outweighs the humanitarian issues surrounding the prisoners he rescued from Makepeace? Can he ride out the political furore that follows the loss of the dreadnought Caliban? How will he cope with an entire year of serving under his father, Caeden? And worst of all, how in the name of every god in the Pantheon can he stand to see Flynn every single day, with the Fraternisation Regs standing between them and keeping them apart?

It will be an interesting year. Bennet can hardly wait for it to be over. Of course, things never really do go to plan…

He’s all set for this to be more of the same, until he meets a self-described power bottom on Unzipped—a guy who happens to be in the same airport. Four stories of sex, romance, and college boys learning to kneel.

Leo fantasizes about having sex with a complete stranger, but when he gets his chance it isn’t nearly as wonderful as he imagined it to be. His dad’s boss tries to teach him a lesson about making stupid choices, but his education in submission doesn’t end there.

Jensen is horrible at math, and now he’s in a calculus class that he’s barely getting through. His parents get him a tutor, but this tutor is interested in teaching Jensen about far more than just math.

Timothy comes back home, to a tiny town he can’t stand, when his mother’s illness gets worse. He’s made a string of bad decisions, and his mother’s friend is determined to turn his life around before Timothy gets lost entirely.
