Review: You are purchasing Siren’s newest imprint, the Siren Epic Romance collection. This is Book 1 of 7 in the Chronicles of the Shifter Directive series. The series shares an overall story arc with many crossover characters playing major roles in each book. These books are not stand-alone and should be read in their numbered order.

If there was a way to give a book higher marks than I would have made this one on the scale of six in heart ratings. This story was so different in many of the ways paranormals are written. You read many stories about werewolves and vampires being killed by humans and this is not the case.

It is bad enough when you’re a paranormal and all the others are trying to kill you or destroy you. However when it is your own family, they are in definite need of help. Several hundred years ago the originals were born. Talrasar and Kaelezrin were mates. Tali was a Fae and Kael was a black dragon. A black dragon was considered pretty much bad news. They consumed all energies from everyone around them.

However Tali was never afraid of him. Even when the war going on around them involving the wolves and vampires, plus the plague going on around them. The only way to save everyone was for Kael to take Tali’s energy from him and destroy it all. The problem was it killed them both. They had committed suicide to save those around them.

Now with the dangers that everyone is having, and Sari’s brother trying to kill him, it is time for them to come back. They save Sari’s baby and those around them, but it does cause some problems. It is a bit hard to understand how two dead can come back to life. The dangers are coming out of the woodwork and now they all have to find out who the traitor is, destroy those who are trying to kill them and save themselves while they are at it.

I must admit that even though I loved this book, there was so much description that parts are a bit harder to follow. It didn’t affect me too bad though, I couldn’t stop reading it. It gave me everything I could possibly want in a story if not more. I love the different paranormals that are in these books.

I was not so sure about the woman with all the snakes in her hair though. She sounded quite freaky but it was a blast to read. I love how there is so much danger, and you can tell that each character loves the other, but they have to fight for their love. I loved this book and look forward to reading the next book.

I would recommend reading this book. It gives you gorgeous men, dragon shifters, Fae, excitement, suspense, action, twists, some hot sex, and lots of danger.

Trust me you have got to read this book.

Review: I found myself enjoying this book a little more than the others. It had a way about it that intrigued me. Paris conceived through a one-night stand. Feeling guilt, he wants to help his newfound family. Jace just wants to help his mate realize his potential and to help him understand he has no guilt to feel. To help Paris heal from the betrayal of what one would call a mother.

The feelings came out more honest and sincere. There is so much hatred for other species, that they know there will always be unease with their mating and the others they have come to call family.

The story line for this one is pretty good. To stop the dangers that are on fronts including the future of a child not yet born. The plot for this book is pretty good, actually had me on edge to see what was going to happen next.

Jace and Paris actually come off more real to me. They are going through what all young lovers do. The uncertainty of all that is around them, but one thing that they know is real is their feelings for each other. Jace has to remind Paris to live in the now and not in the past. His love for his mate shows in wanting to prove to Paris that he is worth more than he thinks.

Their attraction for each other just bounces out to you from the beginning. You just know that they are going to steam the mirrors up when they get together.

Review: Layton has loved Corbin for years, but ever since THAT kiss with Alexis, a shady incubus, he’s started to have feelings for another.  When he finally acts on his attraction, he realizes the truth. Preston has longed for his mate, but knowing his mate wanted his brother, he has stood aside hoping that Layton finds happiness. But, now that Layton has turned to him the truth emerges and their families and friends are in grave danger.

A well-written novella that has added more twists to the Mate or Meal series. Ever since that kiss with Alexis, Layton has developed an attraction for Preston which is now throwing doubts on Layton’s belief that Corbin is his mate.  When the truth emerges, their families uncover a plot to start a race war. Preston has suffered watching his mate chase his brother, but now that he has his mate in his arms, nothing is going to separate them again.

I loved the new twists that emerged and I really hope that in future books it will be revealed how the other side found out who Preston’s mate was. With the continuation of these stories, new plots emerge and old plots reveal their connections and they are really good. What I enjoyed about this story was that there wasn’t too much angst or moping about the Corbin, Layton and Preston triangle.  It was cleared up quickly and the story-line progressed well, while adding in new details, so that we weren’t left hanging about the confusion of why Layton thought Corbin was his mate.

Preston and Layton made a great couple and they had some really hot sex.  I liked how there wasn’t too much angst when they got together and that they accepted quickly how they felt about each other. The other characters added to the story well and I liked the new characters that were introduced as well. There were one or two editing mistakes which really shouldn’t have been missed,  but other than that this was an enjoyable book.

So I will recommend this to those who love shifters, a touch of angst, m-preg, twists, a really good story and a happy ever after.

Blurb: Lunch or lover? That is the question that appears in werewolf Brody’s mind when he meets lamb shifter Carson. The answer is easy. Simply looking into Carson’s innocent blue eyes tells him that the lamb is his mate. If he’s going to eat Carson up, they’ll both enjoy it.

Carson has been isolated by his flock due to his inability to grow into a strong ram. When he is unexpectedly attacked by his half-brother, he does not expect being rescued by a wolf—let alone falling in love with him.

But in spite of Brody and Carson’s feelings, there are other forces at work and people who don’t agree with Brody’s new plans and diet. If Brody can’t find a way to save their bond, Carson might become lunch, after all.

Review: I found this book intriguing and look forward toward the rest of the series. Brody is a wolf shifter and is out scouting when he comes across a bunch of Rams scaring a Lamb.  He confronts the Rams and they run off he then turns to the Lamb and discovers his mate. Carson was just trying to go home when he is accosted by his older half-brother and some of his friends, it’s really not going well when a Wolf chases his attackers off, and he’s then taken by the Wolf.

Okay, I enjoyed this book but I must say that I felt quite queasy at one point until I got into the right mind-set, (really? queasy? You ask.) Yes. because these shifters are more in tune with their animals even in human form and entrenched in tradition that you have a human wolf standing there saying “Perhaps you’re right. I’m sure the pack would love a lamb dinner tomorrow.” While he’s looking a human lamb over? Really? all I could think was ‘cannibal’. So, in the right frame of mind this is more about animal instinct and tradition; although, because of the mating scent and bond, Brody doesn’t feel the urge to eat Carson or to give up his mate just because he’s a Lamb.

Now the story-line for this one is really good because at the end of the day they really haven’t got a choice, they either do what Brody’s dad wants or Carson dies, yeah so you can see their problem. So in this story you have love, danger, angst, heartbreak, anger and resentment with very little hope to hold on to. They endure as much as they can before Brody finally snaps, they are then given a challenge if Carson survives then they can live as mates but oh boy what a challenge.

So, if you want a shifter story with a slightly different flavor; with all the things you usually love then why haven’t you already bought this, go on it is a great read and this book is going into my ‘to be read again’ file.

Blurb: Thrust by chance in the waterworld of Uli, Connor finds himself falling for five gorgeous men. Rallion, Wren, Tallean, Chek and Rodrik are as different as night and day, and yet they all arouse deep feelings inside him, feelings he does not know how to deal with.

Elven princes Wren and Tallean want to protect Connor, but they do not realize how much the abyss between their social positions affects him. It is up to half-Fae Rallion to soothe Connor. But when an investigation regarding his presence on Uli begins, the situation is complicated by the appearance of Chek and Rodrik.

The two shape-shifters teach Connor and his men more about their souls and bodies than they’d ever known before. But there is a shadow watching from the darkness, hunting Connor. Can the five men save their lover before it is too late? What will these tides of love bring?

Review: Connor goes on assignment to Mexico for his paper and while he’s there he is caught in a storm that will change his life forever.

This is a well written story with good world building and in-depth characters with a really good storyline.   it is also a surprisingly good ménage-plus that really does work without trying too hard and all six men complement each other very well. You are drawn into the story and you really feel for Connor being transported to another dimension and being in a position that he has no way out of and no way of getting home.   It was also brilliant that Wren, Tallean, Rallion, Rodrik and Chek had different personalities and came together for Conner and they were not already established as lovers.

The sex scenes are hot and it was extremely nice that Connor didn’t just jump into bed with any of them and had to work through his issues about how he could feel something for all the men and how his men supported and encouraged him through these doubts.   there are D/s scenes as both Rodrik and Chek are very dominate but they are done well and it was a nice surprise that it wasn’t just Connor who acted as their sub and you can see how much thought went into this story as we see most of the men connect with each other without Connor being around.   As I said before a very well done ménage-plus.

I loved the ending as we are left with the opening for the next book of Connor’s best friend Owen, yeah can’t wait.

So I recommend this to everyone who loves a great storyline, incredible hot sex, even hotter men and the promise of more for the future.
