Blurb: Alexander Aubrey spent the last ten years of his life alone after the betrayal of a lover and the deaths of most his pack. One night he scents Rupert Bellamy running for his life from the pack of alpha’s living nearby, and after ten years of nothingness, he’s found his mate.
The problem is that even after he saves Bellamy’s life and brings him back to the mansion where he lives, the alpha’s are waiting for them to come out. Then there’s the fact that his face is badly scarred, and Bellamy is incredibly handsome. But despite that, Bellamy wants to be with him, enough that he’s willing to give up his life in the city and risk the angry alpha’s outside who want his blood. However, Alex was betrayed once already, and it cost him so much.
When he gets wind that Bellamy might have already betrayed him, it puts their fragile new relationship to the ultimate test.

Review: I have said it once but it bears repeating that I love books with imagination, true feelings, and believable story lines.
Marcy has an amazing gift of telling stories. This is an amazing story. I love the mixture of danger, excitement, and humor. I also love the characters because they come off so believable. Not only are they extremely hot and sexy but they have the strengths and weaknesses that all couples need to be perfect together.
Alexander has been alone since his lover betrayed him and almost all of his pack died. He as you would expect is wary of others especially someone who is his mate. Fear of being hurt again and being betrayed makes it hard to trust his mate. I can understand the need to protect oneself from being betrayed by someone who claims to love you. This story just comes off so real to me, which made it even better than most. Alexander is insecure with himself, but he is tender, gentle, and loving to his mate. Bellamy is what I would call a twink, really cute, sweet, and caring with just a hint of attitude. They have their normal troubles, and not so normal troubles but they overcome them to make their relationship stronger.
It doesn’t hurt that the sex between them is amazingly hot and so damn sexy. I just fan myself when I read about all the different ways they have it. I even blush at some parts. It captured my attention from the get go what with the danger and excitement and kept my attention all the way to the end.
I will definitely be reading it more and more. I cannot wait to read the next book. I absolutely loved it.
