Review: Each book in Anya Byrne’s Lone Wolf Pack collection features a different romantic trio. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.
This is an amazing series that I have fallen in love with. Not to mention there is just something more tender about Will and Dean’s story. They had in fact met several years ago at a party with friends and family. Dean had known that Will was his mate and wanted him. The problem was the time and Dean’s father. Forced to leave his mate, to mate with a female in the attempt to keep the one he loved safe. The problem was he had left his mate pregnant.
Now several years later they had all come together again. Dean was alpha of his pack and had two sons by his late wife. Where as Will had their son. Things are a bit tense with them, you can tell the way they are around each other. Dean had not officially claimed Will so many years ago, but he desperately wanted to. However Will didn’t know if he could get over the past.
When danger comes in the form of the council causing all sorts of problems and threats Will notices that Dean is still not back with the pack. That is when they find out that Dean had been captured by the Gathering and was to die for a debt that they didn’t know they had.
Dean had been in love with his mate from the moment they met. They had in fact planned to run away, but his father had put a stop to that.
Now several years later all of them in the same pack, they were still not together. He feared that they would never make their mating official. Now facing death, he was surprised to see Will at the Gathering. Will had come to take his mate home and finish what they started so many years before.
This was a fascinating story that I absolutely had a blast with. Although I would have killed Dean’s father in the first place and taken my mate and run, he is way stronger than I am. Actually I think the strongest one in the group is Will, human and pregnant he survived it all. He had brought his son in to the world. He still loved the man he thought betrayed him so many years before. I loved this book and hope that there is another one in the works. I can’t wait to get my hands on it if there is.
I would recommend reading this, especially if you love the idea that true love does win in the end, sexy shifters, alphas, spunky mates, excitement, surprise, danger and adventure. I loved this book.
