Blurb: Sean and Nicholas are getting closer and closer as they work with their respective partners, Jubilee and Kieran. In this tale, they tackle an unusual nemesis, a gay serial killer, and the death of someone close to home…

As Kieran and Jubilee struggle with the state of Texas over their desire to adopt Juan, Sean and Nicholas go undercover in an unusual and dangerous assignment, posing as potential boyfriends for Trendon Patrick, a serial killer with a difference. Patrick has a taste for law enforcement types, and counts on their in-the-closet status to stop them from reporting his activities.

When he abducts Sean, he seems to know all his secrets and fears… including the time a pedophile tried to abduct him when he was nine.

Meanwhile, Nicholas has his hands full too, protecting a witness to murder. Except the witness is as wacky as they come. He thinks he’s a vampire and insists on being called Prince Vlad…

Review: This story is part of a series and must be read in order. Sean and Nicholas are getting closer and establishing a relationship, Jubilee and Kieran are still struggling to adopt Juan, and the cases at work are still coming thick and fast. Sean and Nicholas are bait for a serial killer, Trendon Patrick, with a penchant for gay law enforcement officers, and as they close the net, a startling discovery is made. A strange witness who needs protection leads them to a chilling discovery and it is a race against time to find two young disabled girls.

This story continues with the developing relationship between Sean and Nicholas and their cases within the Marshals department. Sean and Nicholas are as we remember them; their relationship is still developing with Nicholas still holding himself back while Sean embraces their relationship fully. The cases they encounter in this story has them both thinking about what they could lose and brings them closer together, when Nicholas faces a loss Sean is there for him when he needs him most. Jubilee and Kieran are more in the background in this installment but they are still around in a more supporting role.

This story is well written and even though all the cases are over quickly they are still vastly entertaining, I now look to this series for my drama/crime/soap opera fix as nothing on TV is as entertaining *g*. We are thrown straight into the action with the trap for Trendon Patrick, but it turns out to be much harder than they thought when they discover a surprising twist and a mole in their ranks, it then moves on to widening their trap, which goes horrifyingly wrong. Discovering that the Righteous is still worming its way through Texas leaves a bad taste in their mouths and they have to move fast if they want justice for one of their own. There is much going on in this story that is exciting, but the underlying thread is the relationship between Nicholas and Sean and how t is developing.

I will recommend this to those who love sexy Marshals, great cases, betrayal, murder, near death experiences, sweet loving, relationships deepening and a happy for now ending.
