But the past won’t stay buried, and when the MC resurfaces, it’s Jamie who pays the price. Tek and the rest of the members at the Guards of Folsom must work together to get back one of their own.

“I’m going to place an order. What do you like on your pizza?” Ty asked.

“I’m not hungry.”

“I didn’t ask if you were hungry,” Ty clarified. “I asked what you liked on your pizza.”

Tek stopped his pacing and cocked his head at Ty. “You sure you’re a submissive? You’re awful pushy.”

“I’m only submissive to Blake,” Ty said with a wink. “I know you may not feel hungry right now. Your gut is all messed up and you think you’d rather puke than eat. But if it’s around, you might snack on it and it’s not going to come back up.”

“You sound like you’re speaking from experience.” Tek arched a brow in question.

“I’ve had my fair share of stressful moments in my life,” Ty said vaguely with a shrug. “But I do know that if I had someone who was on my side like Blake back then, it sure as hell would have been a lot easier. He’s a good man, and he’s been in your shoes. I can assure you, he will do everything within his power to bring your man home.”

“I knew Blake was a stickler for security and the safety of subs, but I don’t know all the details.”

“It’s not my story to tell and you don’t need the details right now. But what I will tell you is that Eli was kidnapped and killed by a very disturbed man who was obsessed with him. Blake blamed himself for years, and I think at times he still does. But he uses that guilt and loss and tries to bring some good out of it. Blake getting a chance to be an instrument in a different outcome for Jamie will go far to ease his soul even more.”

Tek ran his hand over his mouth and then scratched at his unshaven jaw as he stared at Ty. “Man, I knew he was a tough son of a bitch, but fuck, I know I wouldn’t ever get over losing Jamie. There is no fucking way.” He shuddered at the horrible thought. “Never.”

“Blake didn’t get over losing Eli. He learned to live with the loss without it destroying him and you would too. But enough of this depressing shit. You’re not going to have to learn to live without Jamie because we’re going to get him back. So, about that pizza?”

“Anything but anchovies.”

Ty was right; Tek not only snacked on the pizza, but before he realized it, he’d eaten two pieces. Of course then the guilt rushed in, and he was now dealing with the very real possibility of upchucking. Jamie was tied up in a fucking closet somewhere, and Tek was munching on pizza.

Tek shoved out of his chair. “What the hell is taking so long?” He stomped to the door to Blake’s office. He was done waiting. Just as he was about to bang on the door, it opened and he nearly knocked on Blake’s forehead.

“I hope to fuck you’re about to tell me you got a lead, ’cause I can’t sit here with my thumb up my ass doing nothing a minute longer.”

Blake stepped past Tek and Tackett looked up at him with a sly grin. “We got him.”
