Review: This story has the feel of ancient Celtic ritual, witches, magic, and an island survivor aspect. When a witch finishes tattooing the bond marks on Key’s skin, he asks if she has ever bonded two lovers of the same-sex and her answer is silence at first. But then she admits that her grandson has escaped to an island where such bondings occur. But, Key thinks it’s all just a fantasy, a fairy tale and that he has no options, no escape. Of course, we soon find out that the witches grandson, Dax does exist, and they find happiness together. If only they can survive Kaya’s father.

An intriguing read, kept my attention and of course was fasted paced, as all short stories seem to be. I recommend this whole imaginative series, Written in Flesh, by Storm Moon Press.
