Blurb: Born with a silver spoon in his mouth, Brian Paulson has lived a life of luxury and ease. If he’s been left lonely because of his family’s pursuit of wealth and their own happiness, he figures it’s a small price to pay for what he sees as most important: money.

Cade McAllister has never had it easy. He works two jobs to support himself, his mother, and his special-needs brother. They don’t have much, but to Cade, love and taking care of the people who are important to him mean more than material possessions. When Cade is mugged in the park, he can’t afford to lose what little he has, and he’s grateful for Brian’s intervention.

Cade is given a chance to return the favor when Brian’s grandfather passes away and Brian’s assets are frozen. Cade offers Brian a place to stay and helps him find work, and the two men grow closer as they learn the good and the bad of the very different worlds they come from. Just as Brian is starting to see there’s more to life than what money can buy, a clause in his grandfather’s will could send their relationship up in smoke.

Review: Basically this book is about two men thrown together from different backgrounds who help one another. Brian is used to having it all until his grandfather dies and leaves a stipulation that ends up leaving Brian with nothing, forcing him to grow up and make his own way in life.

Cade is the man who has always had it rough yet he helps Brian out in his time of need. I really liked the different backgrounds of these two and the way despite being different they managed to form a tight bond with one another.

I have to admit I did not like Brian at first; he was arrogant and thought he could do whatever he wanted as a result of having too much money. I loved Cade; he was a hard worker and did not take things for granted.

You just never know when life can change altering your life forever. So be kind to one another no matter where you come from. Sometimes you have to be given a wakeup call in order to see that just maybe you can learn to be a better person than you were, as was the case with Brian.

This story was interesting and intriguing, it will keep you reading until the very end.
