About Zahra Owens

ZAHRA OWENS is a multi-lingual globetrotter who loves big cities, but also has a weak spot for the wide-open spaces that are so rare where she lives.
She likes her men either tough on the outside but with a huge soft center, or strong, silent and damaged. She makes it her personal goal to find them their happy-ever-after, the road there often leading via hospital beds, villas with gorgeous vistas or ranges full of horses.
Zahra is a proud member of the Rainbow Romance Writers, the Romance Writers of America, and is also a member of RWA’s Professional Author’s Network.
If Zahra had her wish, a day would have at least 36 hours, because how else would she find the time to finish all the novels still inside her head?

Blurb: Edward “Ted” Cleary and Cazimir Palit have shared everything for eight years. Well, almost everything. They own a successful business together, share a house in West Hollywood, and never travel anywhere without each other, but they’ve never slept in the same bed.

There’s one more thing Ted hasn’t shared with Caz. Ted has a mother, sister, and brother in Atlanta Caz has never met. With good reason. They threw Ted out when he wouldn’t “change his ways,” and he’s never looked back. When Ted is rejected all over again, Caz steps up and proves he isn’t the superficial man Ted always took him for, and Ted’s long-hidden feelings might finally be returned.

Review: Ted and Caz have been best friends, business partners and house mates for eight years, they do everything together but they are not a couple. Ted also never told Caz about his estranged family, a family that kicked him out for being gay, now though with his mother on her deathbed Ted tries to reconnect one last time.

This is a great little short of two men who share everything together moving their relationship to the next level through comfort and support. Ted has always held a torch for Caz but has never acted on the attraction he feels, always being the support that his business partner and best friend needs. When Ted has to confront his past Caz insists on supporting him and Caz comes to realise that he yearns for what has always been in front of him.

Ted and Caz are great characters who have always been there for each other; Ted is the background guy making sure that Caz has everything that he needs while Caz is the one in the spotlight dealing with celebrities and the hangers on. Their working partnership is perfect and their home life is solid but Ted wishes he could just admit to Caz how he feels but fears rejection. When Caz comes to Ted’s side in support Caz begins to see Ted in a different light. Ted has to confront his past in the shape of his religious zealot sister and it isn’t pretty.

I really liked this story and how both Caz and Ted reacted to the situation, their relationship is a very easy going on and when they change their relationship it isn’t a huge deal to either of them, except for the sexual aspect, because they have been a couple in everything except bed for years. There’s no angst except for the anxiety of confrontation and the hurt is finally put to rest with the comfort and support Caz offers.

I recommend this to those who love friends to lover stories, settling the past where it belongs and accepting the support of a friend, and finding love in the familiar.
