Review: Preston has received some vague threats and some not so subtle threats when he decides to quit porn, but nothing is stopping him from changing his career path, until a vicious attack puts paid to any modeling career. Cary is frantic with worry when he learns Pres was attacked, but there is nothing he can do when Preston disappears off the face of the earth, and he carries on with his life with his increasingly possessive boyfriend. When Preston reconnects with Cary through his new online job, Preston doesn’t know if he will ever be able to face Cary again, and Cary just might discover some uncomfortable truths very close to home.

Well this is a story that is steeped in new beginnings, insecurity, and support. Preston is brutally attacked when he leaves the porn business, his attacker isn’t caught, and there is no proof that his ex-boss had a hand in it, but for Preston, his life seems to be over. Preston cuts off all contact and disappears and it is only through the persistence of his nurse, Tabby, who is also a good friend that he doesn’t disappear completely. Cary is gutted when Preston disappears, but realizes that he has to carry on with his own life, when Preston comes back into his life he is overjoyed, but it isn’t long before Preston’s attacker makes another move.

I did enjoy this story, but I felt that some aspects were played down, Preston’s attack was vicious and I was expecting him to have more fear because the attacker was unknown and never caught, but most of his concern was for how other people saw him, which is understandable especially as he was banking on his looks to become a model. Tabby was a very good character with her support and encouragement, making Preston take steps to join the world again. Cary is a good character who Preston loves, but Cary made it known he would rather be friends, now though Tabby makes Cary question his own feelings. I will admit to being a bit disappointed with the easily resolved ending because I was expecting it to be more tension filled especially because of the surroundings, but other than that, this is a well-written story with good characters.

I will recommend this to those who love a slight mystery, some great characters, a good storyline, discovering love and a happy ending.
