Blurb: Kansas City’s latest serial killer suspect has just been released on a technicality. Can the homicide detective and the ADA work together to recapture the criminal?

KCPD Homicide’s newest detective, Jed Hyatt, apprehends a drug addict wanted for the gruesome murder of a local real estate agent. The man as much as admits the pretty woman isn’t his first victim. Before Jed has a chance to question him, the suspect’s lawyer gets him released on a technicality. Shocked and frustrated, Jed butts heads with the Assistant District Attorney assigned to the case, Brody Carpenter. Brash but sexy as hell, Brody lashes out at Jed for sloppy police work. He suggests the officers keep digging, and bring him any information they can uncover. In private, Brody’s interested in another type of ‘under the covers’ activity. Jed’s intrigued but concerned because the men are so different, yet Brody insists opposites attract. In a race to solve the case before anyone else is hurt, Jed discovers in a terrifying way that his actions have consequences, sometimes very dire ones.

Review: Each book in the Kansas City Heat collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

I love the way this author can put together a book that not only fascinates you but draws you in. I had a blast reading this and look forward to reading more by Jenna. The characters are beautifully written with big hearts, however if you cross them, they have no problem putting you down.

Jed was a new detective in the KCPD Homicide department. Jed and his partner were in search of a serial killer who raped and tortured his victim. He hadn’t expected to not only like the ADA, but fall in love with Brody. The problem was Brody was so very different then he was. Not only rich, and powerful, but his home life was a bit different than Jed’s. Then Brody finds out just what he has to loose.

I can honestly tell you that this is going to be one of those types of series that you can’t put down and have to read more than once. It is the perfect story for me and gave me all that I needed. In fact I think that this one is my favorite. Although the ending left me a little disappointed, it definitely didn’t make me not love this story. I love the way all the feelings they felt was involved in this story. I had a blast reading it and I can’t wait to read the next story. When Jenna puts out a book I am usually there to eat them up.

I would definitely recommend reading this book. Trust me it will keep you laughing, crying, loving and having fun.
