Blurb: Foster brothers Josh and Morgan aren’t related by blood, but they are each other’s only family.

When sharp-tongued Morgan gets thrown out of their latest foster home, protective ‘big brother’ Josh runs after him. At eighteen, they’re utterly alone, penniless and hungry. Morgan is quick to turn to sex work, and despite his hesitation, Josh agrees to act as his bodyguard.

Lusty and shameless, Morgan revels in getting paid to do what he likes best – having as much sex as possible with as many men as possible. Meanwhile, Josh is tortured with jealousy, because he’s been secretly in love with Morgan for years.

It’s not long before the two find trouble with the law. They flee across the country, Morgan plying his trade and Josh struggling with his complicated feelings, until they find work at an expensive sex club. As security, Josh has to use all his strength to protect Morgan from the people who want to use and abuse him – but when a wealthy and sadistic client takes a special liking to Morgan, Josh will be forced to admit his true feelings are anything but brotherly.

Review: Morgan and Josh become brothers by circumstance at a young age. Barely a few weeks apart in age, and carrying the same last name, the troublesome twosome are placed in foster care at the same home and become instant best friends.

As they grow older they cycle through several foster homes, always managing to stay together. At barely 18 Morgan is caught in a compromising position with their current foster parent’s son, and the two teens wind up homeless. To make some much needed money, Morgan quickly turns to, as he puts it, “the one thing I’m good at”, sex.

Early on Morgan isn’t very smart about choosing his clientele and things get dicey, thankfully Josh had followed Morgan and he quickly comes to Morgan’s aid. Sadly, it puts them into a very bad situation and they have to leave town. On the run from the law with no jobs, no education, nowhere to live, Josh and Morgan make a series of mistakes of epic proportion on their journey to finding happiness.

Let me start by saying this book is very graphic when it comes to the ins and outs of the life of a hustler. Morgan lands a job as a rent boy at a local club in the town they wind up calling home. Josh, unwilling to let Morgan work there on his own, takes on a job as security for the club. It’s a more viable option than picking up strange men in dark alleys, that much is certain. But the life in the club even is dark, dangerous and seedy and the boys still manage to find trouble.

I’m a little torn on the sexual aspect of the story, I don’t think it was the amount of it per say, I understand the character is a nympho. Morgan loves sex and that is the essential makeup of his character. I think it was more what happened at times, the situation. Then there was this constant monologue inside Josh’s head, how much he wanted to be the one Morgan came to, to scratch his almost constant itch.

And yet, Josh stands by and lets Morgan screw random guys in dark alleys, the back of an eighteen wheeler…I think Morgan would have banged a cop in broad daylight in the middle of town square if said cop would have stood still for five minutes. That part of the story just didn’t mesh for me.

That being said, I absolutely loved the fierce loyalty Josh held for Morgan. And I loved how unapologetically gay Morgan was, he owned it, he never tried to hide it, he smiled about it. There was a very raw reality to the writing, I appreciated the author’s approach to keeping the context real and it showed in the overall feel of the story. I also thought the author took the right approach by showing Josh and Morgan having to face the consequences of their actions in the end.

Overall, this was a good read. As I said, be warned the subject matter is a bit dark and gritty and there is a whole lotta of lovin’ goin’ on! Oh, and the author also made sure to differentiate the sex between Morgan and his various partners from the sex between Morgan and Josh, that was a smart move as well. If you like the more emotional, raw, slightly angsty stories with a different kind of character than you are used to, give this one a go.
