Since my kids are basically grown and Christmas doesn’t hold the innocent excitement it once did, my favorite thing about the holidays is the lights – outside and inside. Despite being a self-proclaimed hermit & darkness-loving, non-bloodsucking vampire, the magical and colorful lights of Christmas entrance me. One of our family traditions is going to be something called Zoolights—which is exactly as it sounds, our local zoo decorated with stunning light displays. No matter how cold it is we always bundle up and go. Last year we were away for Christmas, but still found a place almost as beautiful to share our appreciation of the brilliance of the holidays. 
Oh, and did I mention I have a string of Christmas lights hanging in my room for magical inspiration year round?
