Blurb: Who says you can’t go home again? After living a lifetime of regret, thinking he’d never see Kaimi again, John decides to fly to Hawaii to try to recapture a love that slipped through his fingers during an endless summer of surfing and sex in 1964. Will John find what he needs, or he will have to settle for just memories and Pele’s Tears?

Review: John is returning to Hawaii where he found love in 1964.   It’s now nearly fifty years later but he still has hope of recapturing something that he thought he’d lost forever.

This is a beautiful poignant story that I admit left me with tears in my eyes. This story flicks between the present day and August 1964 as it tells the story of two young lovers and the love they both thought they lost forever. This has got to be one of the most touching short stories that I have ever read and I really can’t believe that Kiernan Kelly got so much feeling and emotion into so few pages…absolutely brilliant!

The setting is beautiful, the romance sweet and the love that made John hold on to his Pele’s Tears for so long is pure and perfect. This has got to be a perfect read and it was a pleasure to read.

I will recommend this to those who want lost loves, romance, poignancy and a happy ever after that has you smiling through a film of tears.
