Review: This story is part of a series and must be read in order. Jubilee and Kieran are dragged into an undercover operation when Dillon (Sheriff of Lone Trail) is murdered; it leads them to a child sex trafficking ring. They discover a link to a cult and set out to trap the leader, but there are problems closer to home when they discover someone trying to recruit Pauline (Jubilee’s sister) and her sons for the cult, and someone else gives Jubilee’s nephew’s drugs and Sunny (Darlene’s husband) is brutally attacked in a gay bashing. Can Jubilee and Kieran solve all their new problems and keep their relationship going?

This story is a great addition to the Orgasmic Texas Dawn series. We left off the last book with a desperate late night visit from Dillon’s wife, Elsie, and we now find out exactly what happened. Jubilee and Kieran have a very passionate relationship and they finally decide just what is most important to both of them, and what they both want. This story is filled with all sorts of complications as Jubilee investigates Dillon’s murder; it leads them to Kieran going undercover as the cat houses new owner.

We are joined by characters from previous books in the way of Sunny and Earl; we have some new characters joining us and some hair-raising circumstances. Jubilee’s and Kieran’s relationship is strong, even if they have had to hide it, and we see how it progresses further and the realization they both come to and the decisions they make. The characters are strong and the written is good, the storyline moves very fast and there is a lot going on, so much so that you do have to suspend reality a little, but we do get some quality naked time with Kieran and Jubilee (although Jubilee really should destroy his phone lol).

I enjoyed this story and I am looking forward to the rest of the series, being able to see how Kieran and Jubilee’s relationship progresses and deepens is great, the new addition to the family should make things interesting and fresh. I will admit to being sad to see some of the characters gone as I really did like them, and I honestly think that Darlene needs a psych evaluation because she is clearly insane and doesn’t live in the real world.

I will recommend this to those that love cowboys, crime, strong characters, hot sex, surprising turns and a brilliant happy ending.

Blurb: Sean Mercado, a rookie Dallas Marshal, and Nicholas Fournier, a Canadian cop, are pulled into Jubilee and Kieran’s lives after a near death experience for Jubilee who is shot during a bank holdup that leaves him seriously wounded.

Former Canadian Special Ops Nicholas Fournier never dreamed making a deposit at a Dallas bank for his ailing aunt would change his life, but it does. He meets US Marshal Jubilee Mason who in turn introduces him to Sean Mercado, a new recruit to the Big D. Nicholas is still reeling from a romantic fiasco where he threw caution to the wind traveling to Texas to meet a guy he communicated with online.

Though planning to fly back home, he’s tempted to spend a little more time with the hunky Louisiana transplant and find out a little more about the US Marshals. He soon finds there’s a lot going on in this hectic Texas City and it ain’t just summer rain.

Review: Sean is learning the ropes of being a Marshal from Kieran, Nicholas meets Jubilee in the middle of a bank holdup, both men meet after Jubilee is shot and a connection is forged between them. Nicholas is visiting from Canada and after meeting Sean and the rest of the Marshals Nicholas decides to sign up and hopefully stay in Dallas, it isn’t long before he discovers just how hectic the Marshals can be. Sean is closeted but it isn’t long before he is hoping for anything he can get off Nicholas… if he can just get him to say the words.

This is an excellent addition to the Orgasmic Texas Dawn series with two new hot beefcakes *urm cough* characters, adding to and expanding the storyline. Nicholas is a genius dedicated to serving his country but also looking for excitement along the way, after meeting Jubilee at the bank in the middle of a holdup he is offered the chance to join the Marshals, well it’s a new adventure and if he can see Sean again, then all the better. Sean is still closeted, but meeting Nicholas sparks something inside him, going out on a limb, he takes a chance with the attraction, but Nicholas starts to shy away and Sean can only pray that Nicholas wants him as much as he wants Nicholas.

I really liked the way that this story was written; it starts from Jubilee and Kieran’s point of views and then smoothly changes to Nicholas and Sean’s perspectives when they have been established. With Jubilee and Kieran it starts with a happy morning with Juan (foster son) which is tainted with frustration and anger when they are turned down for adoption because they are gay, the story then progresses quickly to establish both Nicholas and Sean, but Jubilee and Kieran are with them nearly every step of the way so we can keep a close eye on our sexy Marshals. The storyline is action packed, tinged with excitement, confusion and an act of betrayal and continues with a great storyline right to the very end.

Both Nicholas and Sean are great characters and I can safely say that they will be welcomed with open arms, they are hot, passionate, at times confused, but they always hot for each other. They add new blood and open the story for more exciting plots, in this one the four of them work together to bring down a gun smuggling ring, with Jubilee as a rich Texan, Sean as his bodyguard, Nicholas as a cook and Kieran as a biker… Kieran biker *drool*

I will recommend this one to those who love U.S. Marshals, sexy Canadians, action, gunfights, danger, hot lovin’, and a happy ending.

Blurb: Sean and Nicholas are getting closer and closer as they work with their respective partners, Jubilee and Kieran. In this tale, they tackle an unusual nemesis, a gay serial killer, and the death of someone close to home…

As Kieran and Jubilee struggle with the state of Texas over their desire to adopt Juan, Sean and Nicholas go undercover in an unusual and dangerous assignment, posing as potential boyfriends for Trendon Patrick, a serial killer with a difference. Patrick has a taste for law enforcement types, and counts on their in-the-closet status to stop them from reporting his activities.

When he abducts Sean, he seems to know all his secrets and fears… including the time a pedophile tried to abduct him when he was nine.

Meanwhile, Nicholas has his hands full too, protecting a witness to murder. Except the witness is as wacky as they come. He thinks he’s a vampire and insists on being called Prince Vlad…

Review: This story is part of a series and must be read in order. Sean and Nicholas are getting closer and establishing a relationship, Jubilee and Kieran are still struggling to adopt Juan, and the cases at work are still coming thick and fast. Sean and Nicholas are bait for a serial killer, Trendon Patrick, with a penchant for gay law enforcement officers, and as they close the net, a startling discovery is made. A strange witness who needs protection leads them to a chilling discovery and it is a race against time to find two young disabled girls.

This story continues with the developing relationship between Sean and Nicholas and their cases within the Marshals department. Sean and Nicholas are as we remember them; their relationship is still developing with Nicholas still holding himself back while Sean embraces their relationship fully. The cases they encounter in this story has them both thinking about what they could lose and brings them closer together, when Nicholas faces a loss Sean is there for him when he needs him most. Jubilee and Kieran are more in the background in this installment but they are still around in a more supporting role.

This story is well written and even though all the cases are over quickly they are still vastly entertaining, I now look to this series for my drama/crime/soap opera fix as nothing on TV is as entertaining *g*. We are thrown straight into the action with the trap for Trendon Patrick, but it turns out to be much harder than they thought when they discover a surprising twist and a mole in their ranks, it then moves on to widening their trap, which goes horrifyingly wrong. Discovering that the Righteous is still worming its way through Texas leaves a bad taste in their mouths and they have to move fast if they want justice for one of their own. There is much going on in this story that is exciting, but the underlying thread is the relationship between Nicholas and Sean and how t is developing.

I will recommend this to those who love sexy Marshals, great cases, betrayal, murder, near death experiences, sweet loving, relationships deepening and a happy for now ending.

Review: This story is part of a series and must be read in order. Jubilee and Sean are called to help the FBI and the Texas Rangers to search for a woman missing for several years. But, the betrayal of the law enforcement finally makes Jubilee realize he no longer belongs. Kieran and Nicholas are assisting the Canadian’s during an investigation into the Mounties. Jubilee and Kieran are struggling with their separation and make plans to finally put the adoption issue to rest.

Another great installment of Orgasmic Texas Dawn with our favorite Marshals and the struggles they are facing. This story is from Nicholas and Sean’s perspective and it switches between the two easily. we see a lot more of Trace, as he deals with the fallout of protecting Marco (the horny teenager from Winter Frost) and we see Kieran’s and Jubilee’s solution to their problems. The investigations are, as always, interesting and exciting with the two main ones being Nicholas and Kieran’s Canadian investigation, Sean, and Nicolas’ investigation into a woman who makes her men turn to crime.

I enjoyed this story, although I was sad when I realized that Texas still had its head up its ass and it looks like we have said farewell to two of our sexy marshals. I can only hope that a miracle happens and we will still get to follow their adventures. Sean and Nicholas are especially hot together and their relationship is moving forward in leaps and bounds. Trace starts to play a more forward role as he gets dragged into protecting Marco from his father, Trace also finds that happiness come out of it and Marco begins to grow up.

I recommend this story to those who love Marshals, great exciting investigations, cute kids, colorful characters, hot sex, new beginnings, and happy endings.

Blurb: Vampire Richard’s membership in the Immortal Police Squad (IPS), along with managing his dance bar called Club Arrest, is his motivation to keep on living. It also doesn’t hurt that his partner, Caleb, is a hunky stripper who just happens to be a werewolf.

But when their beloved handler on the Vegas PD is killed, Richard suspects foul play. And in the sin-drenched city, foul play is everywhere just waiting to ambush them.

Caleb tells Richard not to stress when they are told they have a new handler named Christopher Light, but Richard hasn’t had a lot of luck in the past with handlers.

When Christopher turns out not to be a stranger after all, but someone with whom Richard once had a hot night of sex, Richard suspects he and Caleb are being set up.

For these immortals, mobsters and vampires make life complicated in the city of Vegas, not to mention playing fun sex games and maybe even falling in love…

Review: Richard is a vampire who works for the Immortal Police Squad (IPS). He also has his own club, Club Arrest. his partner in both ventures and casual lover is Caleb, a werewolf. When their handler dies, Richard suspects’ foul play, but no one will listen. When they are given a new handler, Christopher, Caleb and Richard are led into a trap. Someone inside the police force wants to get rid of them. Now, Caleb and Richard have to clear their names and capture the culprits and they have to rely on Christopher for support. But, Caleb becomes jealous and Richard has to examine his feelings before it’s too late.

This is a great paranormal story that combines the paranormal with police, and has cover-ups and police corruption. Richard is a pretty oblivious vampire. He has a casual lover in Caleb and he has sex with whoever he wishes and he never sees what it does to Caleb. Caleb does keep quiet about how he feels, but when Christopher comes into their lives he becomes jealous. But, they both have more important things to worry about when they are set up and Christopher is their only contact.

I did enjoy this story and how it was written. It’s a great storyline that involves sexy vampires, hunky werewolves and a sexy police lieutenant overcoming corrupt police and mobsters. There is plenty of hot sex both m/m and m/m/m and there is danger. But, there is also the realization of love. I must admit to wanting to learn more about the IPS and how it works, because the police work hand in hand with the IPS and know about the paranormals. There wasn’t any background on the IPS and very little on Caleb, other than what we learned from Richard. But, it is still an interesting book. While Richard’s and Caleb’s relationship is coming to fruition, the main storyline is focused on who killed their old handler and why, the set-up and finding the culprits.

I recommend this to those that love paranormal, danger, hot man on man loving, light BDSM, m/m/m hot sex, a good storyline, and a very hot ending.

Review: This book is part of a series and must be read in order. Pascal and London are digging deep to pull together the Vampire, Werewolves and humans to prevent the splintering of Spectrum. But, they seem to be fighting a losing battle, when the violence seems to be getting worse. When London is taken and tortured by the rebel vampires, Pascal thinks it’s all over, but just as Pascal is about to exact his revenge, London rises. Now, Pascal has London back, but London has no memory of them being together. They have bigger problems to face though, Spectrum is facing all-out war and Pascal and London must protect the innocent. Now, they just need to convince the werewolves to join them of face losing Spectrum for good.

This is a great addition to the Spectrum Skies series, with tension between the races and the unknown of Pascal’s and London’s relationship. Pascal and London are still deeply in love struggling to find snatched moments together while Spectrum goes to hell. But, when Pascal’s enemies try to destroy that love by taking London, they discover Pascal isn’t a tame vampire… at all. Fighting for his love and to keep the peace, Pascal will do anything for London, even if it means giving him up.

The situation in Spectrum is heading for war; no longer are some species happy to live in harmony. Some humans want control over the paranormals. Some vampires want to dominate Spectrum and some demons are looking for free rein from the underworld. and caught in the middle are London and Pascal with their band of officers.

I loved how this story was developed with London becoming something different, but his personality reverting back to how we first met him. Pascal being heartbroken, but refusing to give up and both of them facing the possibility that the Spectrum that they have always known being lost to them. We discover just who has been creating all the trouble in Spectrum. We have a standoff, loss and destruction and the determination of a vampire to win back the man he loves.

I will recommend this to those that love paranormal conflicts, twists, loss, love, vampires on the brink of war, dealing with demons and a happy for now ending.

Blurb: As Nicholas and Sean begin to fully embrace their new lives as US Marshals, fate has other plans in store for Jubilee Mason and his husband, Kieran. Will a shocking opponent to their adoption plans wreck the two couples’ friendship?

Kieran, Jubilee, Sean and Nicholas tackle two highly unusual cases in the seventh exciting chapter of Orgasmic Texas Dawn. First they must track down a serial killer from Dallas who travels every weekend killing women in the notorious La Zona district in Mexico. This homicidal maniac kills with such surgical precision he’s nicknamed The Ripper…

Meanwhile, what turns out to be a routine protection assignment for Sean and Trace turns out to be anything but…and on the home front. Kieran and Jubilee are still fighting for legal custody of Juan. Will they soon taste victory or will their lives, like the weather, soon turn to winter frost?

Review: This story is part of a series and must be read in order. Kieran, Jubilee, Sean and Nicholas team up again tackling case with the US Marshals. A serial killer is traveling to Mexico to kill prostitutes, but the case is far from simple. Protecting a witness proves harder than it should and transporting a criminal is filled with danger as he becomes a target for murder. On the home front tensions are high when Juan’s adoption comes to a screeching halt and someone sets out to take Juan away from Kieran and Jubilee.

This is a great story as tensions run high and friendships are tested and relationships are strained. Kieran and Jubilee are put through the wringer as their hope of adopting Juan is crushed. They have to deal with the pressure of work and choices have to be made as their relationship is tested by stress. Sean and Nicholas are progressing nicely with their relationship although there are a couple of tense moments. Sean is still dealing with the emotional distress of being kidnapped and poisoned (Autumn Breeze) and Nicholas faces mutilation when he is caught in a trap.

This story has personal conflicts and trust is bruised. There are exciting cases and the revelation of yet another mole in the Marshal Service. These guys just can’t win can they? I really enjoyed this story because it actually caused me to feel conflicted about my favorite US Marshals. On one hand, I felt sympathy, but, I also felt that they over-reacted and I felt so sorry for the one who was caught in the middle when he was torn between his family and his friends. Oh, was that vague? *snigger*.

Nicholas and Sean are the main focus again with Kieran and Jubilee more in the background. We have so much scorching sex from Sean and Nicholas that I was beginning to think I was reading porn *wipes brow*. The Marshal Service comes into its own as we spend more time with the guys at the office, but don’t think there are less cases or action because we still get plenty of both with daring escapes and near misses that we have come to know these guys for. There is a quandary coming up though and I am sad to think we might lose some of the hot Marshals. Let us hope Texas pulls its head out of its arse and quickly approves gay adoption.

I have to recommend this to those who love great series, hot sexy men, danger, doubts and betrayal, hot sex, deep love and an ending that has you gritting your teeth.

Review:  Johnny is the lead singer for the band Frenzied Water. A band in need of a drummer. Enter Frank Harold. Frank has left the group Heirloom at the height of their fame for the lesser known rock band and Johnny wants to know why.

The more time these two spend together, the more evident their attraction to one another becomes. Johnny finally gets his wish one night and lands in bed wrapped in Frank’s arms. But Frank is still raw from his break up with his former band’s lead singer and is determined not to get involved with another musician again.

As luck would have it, Johnny gets another chance when he, Frank and two of the members of Heirloom are snowed in a mountain cabin. Will the day after be a repeat of their last sexual encounter? Of will Johnny finally get Frank to admit he loves him as well?

This book is the short, gay version of Sex, Drugs and Rock&Roll! If you are looking for a quick steamy read, then this is the book for you. I was fanning myself and wiping the steam off my Kindle by the end. This is another short read that I would love to have a full length novel of. The storyline of fortune, fame and broken trust was enticing. The last sex scene between Frank and Johnny was so passionate and steamy, I was panting!

Review: Clive has one goal in life and that is to always have enough, enough food, enough money, enough everything. After a harrowing childhood where Clive never had anything, he now works hard to make sure he is never in that position again.  But, when he meets Seth he will take a chance and change because once he has a taste of love nothing else matters. Seth is determined to protect his grandfather and the town from corporate greed, but Clive gets under his skin and he works out a way to save the company and give his grandfather something to look forward to. But, Seth discovers the truth and turns his back on Clive and Clive has to scramble to find a way to save the company and his love.

This is a good story of hotshot corporate shark finding love and changing his ways. Clive is a great character who has suffered hardship in his childhood. He watched his sister die due to neglect and malnutrition and has sworn to never be in that position again, and if that means being seen as a cold heartless man, then so what, at least he won’t go without. Seth rushes to help his grandfather when he discovers that his grandfather is ill and his business in trouble, but what he discovers is so much worse than he thought. The business has two options, bankruptcy or Clive’s company. But, he needs assurances that the company’s doors will remain open. The two get to know each other, but lies get in the way and Clive ends up trying to prove that he can change.

Seth is a good guy. He gave up the opportunity for a good paying job to work for the poor and has never regretted it. When he meets Clive, he feels an instant pull to the guy which rapidly develops into love. Clive has a shell around his heart that Seth shatters and makes him want to be a better man. Together they make a great couple, but I felt that they fell in love too quickly. Over just a couple of weeks and in an awkward situation, it felt rushed. The story is well written and it flows well. You get a good feel for both characters and you hope that they do work it out and they get their happily ever after.

I will recommend this if you love corporate sharks who have a change of heart, a good guy who can forgive, some hot sex and a very happy ending.

Review: Kieran Fox is reeling from a disastrous romance which has left him jobless. He’s head-hunted by a Texas Sheriff and finds himself in the town of Lone Trail, Texas to put a stop to murders and drug deals. Jubilee is a US Marshal who’s on a task force that is digging into the drug cartel. Teaming up with Kieran is a great idea when the bad guys begin to drop, but the attraction between Kieran and Jubilee could be a problem in small town Lone Trail…as well as the problem of Jubilee’s closet door.

Oooohhhh!! now this was a great mixture of excitement, danger, banter, interesting characters, astounding pets and the beginning of a romance with obstacles to overcome. Kieran has been badly burnt in his last romance and has no plans for a new one. But, his attraction to Jubilee clouds his mind. Jubilee is in the closet, but his attraction to Kieran has him sticking his toe out. He doesn’t know what he’s going to do, but he can’t fight what he feels. Both men have to focus on their joint investigation into the drugs and murder that hovers over Lone Trail.

God. Kieran and Jubilee are brilliant characters. I loved their banter and teasing and their general interaction. They make a brilliant team both on and off the job and their interactions with other characters are great. Both are very comfortable in themselves and it shows in how they are with others. Dillon is another great character who you will enjoy, there are a few characters that will give you a giggle and make for a very interesting story. While our men are chasing the baddies, there’s a certain baddie that comes for Kieran and he is nasty in his methods of drawing Kieran to his clutches.

There’s a bit going on and you follow the trails as they take you through the suspects trying to find the main drug dealer/murderer Reggie Jones; with an alligator autopsy, gruesome remains, betrayal from an insider and drugs turning up in unexpected places. This is a very enjoyable story that is well written and gives you some chuckles and one or two ‘ugh, ewww gross’ moments. One thing I will tell you is that while Kieran and Jubilee get together it isn’t until near the end and then a bit of a bombshell is dropped on them. Although from the way they are in bed, I doubt it will be anything more than a slight blip, because they are HOT.

So, I am recommending this to those who love crime, guns, alligators, backward hicks, a shoot-out, betrayal, a very conniving bad guy… or maybe two, and a romance that is hard to get off the ground, but with some hot sex and with an opening for the next book.

Review: This story is part of a series and I recommend that they be read in order. London and Pascal are back and they have a new case to solve. Young men are being drained and left in the middle of roads. It looks like they have a rogue Vampire on the loose, but as they dig deeper they discover a conspiracy. Pascal and London’s relationship hits a rocky patch when Pascal’s past and London’s prejudice clash; can they sort out their differences and solve the murders?

This novel continues on with the lives of London and Pascal, who work at Human/Specs Enforcer Union (police) and the Island of Spectrum. London and Pascal love each other very much, but London is still wary of vampires and it colors his judgment. Pascal has a past that he wants to keep hidden, but when London discovers it, London reacts badly. Both of them have to work through their problems if they are going to get to the bottom of the murder of the young men and to discover exactly who is behind it.

London and Pascal are a great couple who have some fantastically hot sex, but there are underlying problems between them. When they are involved in the investigation Pascal hides things and London is determined that the culprit is a vampire. But, when Pascal starts to get tempted and then dragged into the darker side of his nature, and someone starts to target London, they have to pull together and sort out their differences, as well as accept the others nature.

There are some times in this book when I really wanted to bang Pascal’s and London’s heads together and there is a scene where there is lots of blood and strong temptation for Pascal that edges into unfaithfulness. Both men discover betrayal and hidden agendas from those they thought they could trust, and the book leaves us with a great opening for the next story.

I will recommend this to those who love paranormal, vampires, sexy men solving murders, stopping conspiracy’s, hot sex and an ending that makes you want the next book, as the story-line evolves.

Blurb: When a new enemy comes out of the dark, the human head of the Human/Specs Enforcer Union is forced to work with his vampire counterpart. Can London put aside his dislike of Pascal St-Maurice to fight a common enemy?

Captain London Weaver hates the dark season, the time when the skies over Spectrum turn dark and stay that way for months. It’s when all the crazies come out, and the humans are at a definite disadvantage.

When a new enemy comes out of the dark, London joins forces with his immortal counterpart, Captain Pascal St-Maurice, a vampire who, as far as London is concerned, is a fancy pants with no respect for anything. In Pascal’s opinion, London is anal, uptight, and prejudiced against his species. When they’re ordered to work together to confront a succubus that doesn’t discriminate among victims, Pascal decides to make the best of it. However, that doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy.

Come and visit Spectrum Skies, a place where mortals and immortals have learned to live together in peace…or something like that.

Review: London is the captain of the human side of the Human/Specs Enforcer Union and dislikes most things supernatural, especially the Vampires. But, now as a new threat is uncovered, he has to work closely with one, Pascal. Pascal is the captain of the Specs side of the Human/Specs Enforcer Union and likes most humans, but London gets right up his nose. When he finds out he has to work closely with London, he decides to have some fun.

This is a well written imaginative story with a really good plot and story-line. London has something in his past that has colored his judgment against vampires. When he has to work with Pascal, he tries hard not to soften towards the sexy vampire. Pascal does everything he can to get London to bend and really enjoys winding him up in the process. As the two get closer to cracking the case, the two MCs get closer as well. When Pascal’s life is in danger London does everything he can to save him.

These two MCs strike sparks off each other. The banter between them is brilliant and so are the sex scenes… very hot. I liked how Pascal draws London’s slight submissive side out and how he also submits to London as well. It was a very well done power exchange between them and the emotions that they share are quite erotic and touching. I thought that these two characters were well suited and have a lot of potential as a couple. The M/M/M scene is short and sweet and is all about the sex.

I have got to say that the setting is incredible, a hidden world in the South Pacific Islands where for 3 months of the year it stays mainly dark and the supernatural beings baser instincts come to the fore. Absolutely fantastic, I loved it, what an incredible imagination D.J. Manly has.

So I recommend this to those who love paranormal, fantasy, hot men and hot vamps, even hotter sex, a bit of BDSM, a bit of danger and a really great story-line.

From the Publisher:   The Sins of Autumn weaves a general thread of revelation loosely tying these tales together. Wrath, gluttony and pride are explored in these hot m/m tales involving action, burning hot sex and out-of-this-world adventures that will leave you hoping for cooler weather—soon!

About the Authors:

D.J. Manly:   I write not only for my own pleasure, but for the pleasure of my readers. I can’t remember a time in my life when I haven’t written and told stories. When I’m not writing, I’m dreaming about writing, doing something wild and adventurous, or trying to make the world a better and more open-minded place to live in.

A.J. Llewellyn:   A.J. Llewellyn lives in California, but dreams of living in Hawaii. Frequent trips to all the islands, bags of Kona coffee in the fridge and a healthy collection of Hawaiian records keep this writer refueled

Serena Yates:   I’m a night owl who starts writing when everyone else in my time zone is asleep. I’ve loved reading all my life and spent most of my childhood with my nose buried in a book. Although I always wanted to be a writer, financial independence came first. Twenty-some years and a successful business career later I took some online writing classes and never looked back.

My Review:   The first book of this anthology really grabbed me right from the start. In Hail Storm by D.J.Manly, Chance and his friends absolutely worship the rock band Hail Storm and form a tribute band in their honor. Chance doesn’t realize that he has a connection to the lead singer until they meet face to face. It turns out that Hail, the lead singer, is actually Chance’s brother and the two quickly form quite a deep bond. A little thing like falling in love with the same guy (Storm, a key member of the band) might just tear them apart.

From the very beginning of this book, I could feel the hormonal angst of a young guy and his passionate obsession with his favorite rock band. There is a lot of hero-worship going on and he cannot believe it when Hail tells him they are really brothers. Chance is torn between the loyalty he feels towards his brother and the deep feelings he develops for Storm. Hail is obsessed with Storm and Chance knows that by falling in love with him, he will bring Hail’s wrath down on both of them.

I loved the way the author portrayed the conflict in this story. Hail gives Chance everything…opening his home to him and helping him achieve his own success, but in return Chance falls in love with the man Hail wanted to claim as his own. There was no malice involved, just circumstance, and as the pages turned and the conflict was resolved I had to smile at how right things ended up in the end.

The second book of this anthology, Full by A.J.Llewellyn didn’t grab me quite like the first one did. Barney Calloway is an extremely overweight voice over actor in Hollywood. He has struggled with his weight his whole life and after a particularly embarrassing party mishap he finds a business card tucked under his windshield wiper saying one word. Full. On the back is a phone number (which he calls) and miraculously the next morning he wakes up at his ideal weight. Family members and old flames react oddly to the new Barney and he isn’t sure that being overweight was really his only problem.

The message that the author portrays here is a powerful one….our happiness cannot be achieved by being physically perfect. Barney is overweight at the beginning, yes, but after the weight comes off, he starts to realize that maybe he had a ‘fuller’ life than he thought he did. While I liked the story, I think the writing was a bit choppy. I would have liked for the pace of the story to slow down a bit, maybe have the author pick a few key characters to focus on, and still keep the same storyline. Great message, though and one Barney finally understood in the end.

In Autumn Quest by Serena Yates there is a parchment thief stealing books and scrolls from the Royal Library and he must be stopped. The Khan decides to put his youngest son, Bayar, in charge of solving the mystery of the thief’s identity. Bayer chooses an assistant…Chinux, a bounty hunter…to help him in this quest.

The contrast between the scholarly Bayer and the rough and tumble bounty hunter is quite evident. Even though Bayer should be in charge (being royalty and all), it is clearly Chinux that is leading this expedition. They are shocked to learn the true identity of the thief, but their combined strengths and talents allow them to overcome evil in the end. There is a nice bit of adventure, intrigue, and passion all wrapped up in this story. These two characters really complement each other well and I was rooting for them to not only find the thief, but maybe find a life together in the end as well.

Overall, the Sins of Autumn Anthology is a nice collection of stories that illustrate the sins of wrath, gluttony, and pride and how passion can play a part in all of them.

Review: Busted is a very romantic story. The kind where the “bad boy” finds love when least expected and finds meaning in his life that he never thought he needed.

Dorian is a very bad boy. His life is all about his job. He’s a detective working undercover and sex is one of the perks. Meaningless sex with guys that don’t know his name and that won’t stay long around for romantic dinners and flowers and love oaths. No, Dorian doesn’t do relationships. He’s only love is adrenaline and he lives his life as if there’s no tomorrow. His job helps a lot. When he gets assigned to go undercover as a bodyguard for the grandson of the most slippery mobster of New York he tries to avoid it. He dislikes kids and they dislike him. Little did he know that “the grandson”, Mark, is no kid, but a young man of 20 years old and very, very tempting. But, as they say, one cannot escape Fate!!

Mark is young, attractive and obsessed with sex. Of course, he is. He’s 20 years old and the only grandson of a very rich man. His only problem is that his grandfather is also obsessed with his safety and every time he comes home he’s forced to have a bodyguard with him at all times. But no more, this year Mark intends to have fun and is not going to take up with that anymore. After all he strongly believes that he’s in no real danger. But, when Dorian shows up to his dorm room… Voila! Revelation! Mark’s instantly struck by Dorian’s hotness and even though they don’t hit it off at all, he can’t stop thinking about him. This could be the man who could end his career as a “bad boy” once and for all…

The plot is great, fast, intense and very romantic. Sex between the pair is very hot and sensual, with Dorian’s jealousy spicing it and making it even more real. The supporting characters are quite interesting as well, providing a very nice and somehow funny background for Mark’s and Dorian’s tale. I didn’t like the police/mob scenes though. Many details were so unrealistic and spoiled it for me. Going into details about that would spoil the story, but if you’re a fan of crime/mystery you will want to keep this in mind and not raise your expectations. All in all a very nice reading and a great love story and if you like to see bad boys in action this is the book for you. Enjoy!
